StarClash 03 preview:

No Holds Barred Match for the NAWA World and International Title with Special Guest Referee Rowdy Roddy Piper:
Jerry Lynn(International Champion) vs Harry Harris(World Champion)

Jerry Lynn has been with the New Age Wrestling Alliance since March 2002 and has not gotten one shot at the NAWA World Title until tonight. He is one of the most dangerous and ruthless competitors in the NAWA and he has scored victories over many of the top stars of this company. Harry Harris is the New Age Wrestling Alliance World Champion and the first home grown talent for the NAWA.  He has been a fighting NAWA World Champion and he has a long list of challengers lining up after his belt. Harris has had successful title defenses against Christopher Daniels, Raven, and Jeff Jarrett. Tonight he has to face his toughest challenge to date in Jerry Lynn. The war between these two started shortly before the last NAWA Pay Per View, Last Chance at Redemption when Jerry Lynn(who had falsely led Harry Harris to believe that he can be trusted), laid out Harry Harris and destroyed his Championship Belt. It further escalated at Last Chance at Redemption when Jerry Lynn pinned the New Age Wrestling Alliance World Champion in the center of the ring in a tag team match. Harry Harris's tough title defense schedule could be very well catching up to him as he barely retained the belt against Christopher Daniels a mere two weeks ago on Glory. Jerry Lynn is sure to capitalize on any mental fatigue the champion has and Jerry Lynn has been deemed so dangerous that no referee in this company wants to referee this title match. So NAWA Owner Matt Harms had to bring in an outsider, the legendary Rowdy Roddy Piper, to referee this match. Piper isn't going to take anything from anyone and he is going to be there to make the three count or enforce the submission. This match is No Holds Barred for one reason, so the NAWA World Title does not change hands on a screwjob finish at the second biggest show in the year(remember, belts in the New Age Wrestling Alliance can change hands on a disqualification or a countout). The two top wrestlers in the company collide, who will come out on top on this night.

Prediction:

Last Man Standing Match:
Christopher Daniels vs Raven

These two used to be allies in the Dead Pool and are former NAWA World Tag Team Champions at that. They ran the NAWA ragged over the spring and summer but the Dead Pool fell to pieces when they lost a War Games match to some of the top stars in the NAWA and Raven dropped the World Title to Harry Harris back at WrestleClash II. Daniels and Raven seemed to have parted ways without incident but as always in this sport, nothing is as it seems. Daniels just waited for the right moment to strike and he struck hard, costing Raven the NAWA World Title against Harry Harris on the October 23rd edition of NAWA Glory. Daniels says the reason why he attacked Raven, is Raven has softened over the years and is no longer the great evil that he once was. Daniels has declared that honor for himself but at Last Chance at Redemption, Raven battered Christopher Daniels in a brutal match that never really got started. Raven proved that he can be brutal enough, sinister enough to hang with the Fallen Angel. Daniels and Raven turned up the heat on each other, costing each other respective title matches two weeks ago on Glory and on back to back weeks, they assaulted each other with barbed wire. Then there is a case of these mysterious druids that have been with Daniels recently. They are not afraid to attack on command. Will they show up at Starclash? The only way to find out is to tune in this Sunday night at StarClash as these two rivals face off each other in what promises to be a brutal Last Man Standing Match

Prediction:

Jeff Jarrett(w/Vince Russo) vs Norman Smiley.

Back in March of 2002, Norman Smiley was nothing but a novelity midcard act. A very popular one but a midcard act nevertheless. Jeff Jarrett, who had just lost the NAWA World Title, felt overlooked and took it out on Norman which led to a series of matches where Norman came out on top, upsetting Jarrett more often than not. Norman grew into one of the top Main Event players and Jeff Jarrett seemed to respect Norman. They tagged together for over a year, winning the Tag Team Belts and feuding with the Dead Pool, Disco Inferno, and his goons. All seemed to be, until Harry Harris captured the NAWA World Title. Jarrett felt overlooked as he was one of the top wrestlers who won the War Games Match back at WrestleClash II for control of the NAWA and Harry Harris was getting all the credit for beating Raven to win the NAWA World Title. Jarrett started to revert back into his rulebreaking ways, much to the dismay of Norman Smiley. They seemed to be on track to winning the NAWA World Tag Team Belts back but Norman's flight got cancelled mysteriously the night Jarrett and Norman had the match with Stasiak and Sanders for the Tag Team Title Belts. Harry Harris replaced Norman Smiley on that night and Jarrett's true colors showed through, attacking Harris with a guitar. Jarrett managed to con Norman for a few more weeks but shortly after that Jarrett felt Norman outlived his usefulness, so Jarrett turned on Norman as well. Jeff Jarrett, now allied with an old friend of his Vince Russo, failed at his pursuit to capture the NAWA World Title not once but twice but Norman Smiley wasn't about to let Jarrett forget about his betrayal. So the match is set for StarClash. Jarrett has hinted that the only reason Norman beat him back in the day is because Jarrett went easy on him. Jarrett doesn't plan on doing that this Sunday and he gave Norman a little preview of the new Jeff Jarrett on Glory, crushing his leg in a chair. Good friends, better enemies, perhaps. This Sunday, they collide one on one to settle the score.

Prediction:

Steel Cage Match for the NAWA Television Title:
Miles Stylish vs Ron Waterman(c)

A lot of bad blood in this one as well. Once upon a time, Miles Stylish was once a better of the Boogie Woogie Regime with former NAWA Commissioner Disco Inferno and Ron Waterman was Disco's bodyguard. Stylish had a plan which would result in him becoming NAWA World Champion by winning a battle royal and becoming the number one contender. All he had to do was sit back and let Waterman do all the work. Waterman didn't play ball and Stylish ended up losing the battle royal(but he did manage to eliminate Waterman in the process by getting him over the top rope with Harry Harris's help). Disco Inferno attempted  to force Waterman and Stylish to team up to heal the wounds but that worked out well(sarcasism alert) as Waterman got sick of Stylish being an egotistical little berk and caused Stylish to suffer his first pinfall loss in their sole outing as a tag team. Disco managed to keep them from killing each other other but when Disco was forced from the company, Waterman beat up whatever stood in his way. One of those people were Miles Stylish. This led to a match at Truth or Consequences in which Waterman pinned Stylish, dealing Stylish his first singles defeat in his New Age Wrestling Alliance Career. Going after an undefeated wrestler in Waterman wasn't the best course of action for Miles Stylish. Stylish attempted to beat Waterman again in a Triple Threat Match for the Television Title at the End of Days but once again, Stylish failed. Finally Stylish raised the ire of Waterman further by paying the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation to do a number on him. This led to the match being made tonight for the Television Title. Waterman defending against Stylish. Stylish has vowed that he will end the undefeated record of Ron Waterman. Our spies at NAWA headquarters have revealed that Stylish has been training harder then ever and he may now be the biggest threat to Waterman's undefeated record as of this date. Stylish further angered Waterman by delivering the Las Vegas Trauma through a table and stealing Waterman's championship belt. One way or another, in one of the most dangerous matches in wrestling, either the streak will be ended or Waterman will shut up Miles Stylish, perhaps once and for all.

Prediction:

Submission Match for the NAWA Cruiserweight Title:
CM Punk vs Teddy Hart(c)

A lot of people hate Teddy Hart. He rubs people the wrong way. He also has a nice shiny championship belt which irritates people a lot, because Teddy Hart would be not have won that belt, had it not been from the help from his allies, the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation. No one hates him more than CM Punk. That was shown well by the times Punk broke Teddy Hart's nose(I believe we are reaching five or six as of tonight). Punk has yet to get a one on one match with Teddy Hart with the Cruiserweight Title. Teddy Hart has beaten many of the top wrestlers in the company. Jimmy Yang, the longest reigning champion the NAWA history of any title, tried and failed. Michael Shane, tried and failed. Christopher Daniels, who has defeated many main event competitors, tried and failed. CM Punk is the latest to try and dethrone Teddy Hart. Punk has beaten Teddy Hart before, back in September 2003 on Glory in a non-title match and then Punk beat Teddy Hart in an eight man tag team match back at Rage in the Cage. The thing that adds the most to this encounter is that it will be a Submission Match. Teddy Hart has the Sharpshooter but CM Punk's Anaconda Vice is a good enough move to match with the Sharpshooter. One of these wrestlers will be submitting this Sunday, but who?

Prediction:

NAWA World Tag Team Title Match:
Sean Waltman and Michael Shane vs Shawn Stasiak and Mike Sanders(w/Vince Russo)(c)

Let's look at the NAWA World Tag Team Champions shall we. Stasiak and Sanders, who spent most of the summer being made the personal bitches of the Backyard Dudes, have somehow captured the belts from the Backyard Dudes. They have lucked out in a number of circumstances and have held the belts for three months. Tonight they have to defend the belts against a team who mixes technical wrestling and high flying well. That being Sean Waltman and Michael Shane. This is not the first time these two teams have collided on Pay Per View this year. Back at Night of the Rogues 2003, Waltman and Shane defeated Stasiak and Sanders in a tag team match. Will lightning strike twice? Can the Kliq capture the belts? What will the dastardly Vince Russo do? Once again there is only one way to find out and that's tune in to StarClash 03

Prediction:

Petey Williams and Jack Evans vs the Gambler and AJ Styles

The Gambler has had really risen to the challenge of being a top NAWA wrestler in 2003. He went from being the Jobber Champion to competing against many of the top stars in the company. He has also attracted the attention of the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation. Teddy Hart had decided that the Gambler would be made an example of, to prove the greatness of the HFNG. The Gambler fought hard but three on one was more than too much for the most improved NAWA wrestler of 2003. Thankfully the Gambler had a friend in AJ Styles, who made the save. Styles has had his share of problems with the Hart Foundation the Next Generation and Teddy Hart has been ducking AJ Styles where a shot at the Cruiserweight Title is concerned. This tag team match should be one for the ages.

Prediction:

NAWA Xtreme Title Match:
The Sandman vs the Dark Warrior(c)

The Sandman has held the Xtreme Title twice and is looking to capture it a third time but the Dark Warrior is not one to be underestimated. He has vowed to make the Sandman suffer due to ultra destrucity. Can Blood, Sweat, and Beers triumpth over Destrucity? I think the answer will be coming all too soon.

Prediction:

The Juice vs Scott Hall

Juventud Guerrera aka the Juice is perhaps one of the most underutilized wrestlers in the NAWA today. He will get a chance tonight against Scott Hall tonight to prove that he is a top level competitor. Hall has been slumping as of late, so a win against the Juice could bring him back up to the level that he is known for.

Prediction:

Super Crazy vs Elix Skipper:

Prime Time is the newest edition of the NAWA cruiserweight division and will face off against one of the legends in this company, Super Crazy. Crazy is a former NAWA International Champion and has had many top matches with Jerry Lynn, so a win by Prime Time should be a feather in his cap.

Prediction:

Backyard Wrestling Rules:
Twizted Youth vs Pierre Marquette

Oh boy, this is another chapter in the never ending feud of doom beween the Backyard Dudes and the French Revolution. I can't be bothered to look back how it started, I believe that the Backyard Dudes made some choice comments about the French Revolution being French and the Frogs took exception to it. And Ricky Ricardo, God bless is soul, is still knocked out with the Reign of Terror from all the way back at the End of Days. That must be some powerful finisher. I believe Triple H must be envious at the French. His Pedigree hasn't knocked anyone out for two months as of yet. Oh yeah the rules for this match. Wrestling moves are banned from this match. Should you use wrestling moves, you will be giving a wedgie. Mindless jumps off of high places and mindless weapon use are mandatory. Should be a fun walk in the park should it. Oh yeah, this match will be taking place in Twizted Youth's mom's backyard, on location.

Prediction:

Jacques Strap vs Fernado Romero Entonio Dominic(or F.R.E.D as we like to call him)

I'll be honest with you. These two suck. Big time. They can't wrestle. They don't know a power bomb from a nuclear bomb. I'd rather read Season One NAWA Cards than write this match. But I feel the strange urge that I have to because it is my duty to make you, the NAWA fan, squirm at the pure suckitude of this match. At least Pierre vs Twizted Youth will be a fun trainwreck. These two have no redeemable value whatsover. It will it will suck and blow at the same time. No one is moving up the NAWA ladder, no matter who wins, because these two will forever be marooned at the bottom. Thankfully it will probally be short because if you breath on F.R.E.D it knocks it out for ten minutes. And Jacques Strap is too stupid to work out how to roll his shoulder up before the three count. It shall suck. Suck big time. Even more than the Diva Search. Well, maybe I wouldn't go that far but it will be bad. Really bad. I have wasted a whole paragraph for this match and I haven't even told you how or why it got made. I'm out.

No Holds Barred Match for the NAWA World and International Title with Special Guest Referee Rowdy Roddy Piper:
Jerry Lynn(International Champion) vs Harry Harris(World Champion)

Harris goes over.  I don't see his run ending at the hands of Lynn.

Last Man Standing Match:
Christopher Daniels vs Raven

Raven won last time.  Daniels will win this time.  Probably thanks to the druids.

Jeff Jarrett(w/Vince Russo) vs Norman Smiley

Jarrett always wins matches like this one.  On top of that, he's racked up a few losses to Harry Harris over the last few months, so he needs to get some heat back.  Smiley may have risen well above jobber status, but he isn't going to beat Jarrett here.

Steel Cage Match for the NAWA Television Title:
Miles Stylish vs Ron Waterman(c)

Waterman seems to work best when he can physically dominate his opponent, but he won't be able to do that with Stylish.  Ergo, Stylish wins.

Submission Match for the NAWA Cruiserweight Title:
CM Punk vs Teddy Hart(c)

No Hart is about to lose a submission match.  Teddy retains.

NAWA World Tag Team Title Match:
Sean Waltman and Michael Shane vs Shawn Stasiak and Mike Sanders(w/Vince Russo)(c)

With Russo backing Stasiak & Sanders, and not a whole lot of backstory behind Waltman & Shane getting the title shot, I can't see the Kliq coming out on top here.  Stasiak & Sanders retain.

Petey Williams and Jack Evans vs the Gambler and AJ Styles

Gambler and Styles have singles pushes.  Williams and Evans are just sorta Teddy Hart's sidekicks given the current situation.  Gambler and Styles win.

NAWA Xtreme Title Match:
The Sandman vs the Dark Warrior(c)

The Sandman cannot hope to overcome the POWER OF THE WARRIORRRRRRR.  Destrucity rules all.  Warrior wins.

The Juice vs Scott Hall

The Juice needs a win.  Scott Hall doesn't.  Juice wins.

Super Crazy vs Elix Skipper

Skipper wins by virtue of being the new guy.

Backyard Wrestling Rules:
Twizted Youth vs Pierre Marquette

Youth wins when his mom KOs Marquette with a frying pan.  That's legal in this match, right?

Jacques Strap vs Fernado Romero Entonio Dominic(or F.R.E.D as we like to call him)

Strap wins here to keep the scores even.  That way both teams can keep their heat.  Ha ha, I am hilarious.
