HARD KNOX WRESTLING  Presents "Face the Day"
DATE: August 19 2006
LOCATION: THE EDGE (Virginia Beach, VA)

Hard Knox Wrestling stepped foot in the South for the first time as non stop action came to The Edge in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The crowd got to witness a top notch card with several surprises.

Let's go down to the ring for the opening match between Johnny Stamboli and CM Punk. Stamboli is trying to maintain the legacy of The Triple Threat now that Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Ace have left HKW while CM Punk is looking to move up the singles ranks at the same time keep an eye out for Ring of Honor's own Austin Aries who has been a thorn in Punk's side the last two months.

CM Punk gained a victory after Stamboli botched a flying bulldog attempt that left him open for Punk to regain the advantage. The strange thing about this match was the non appearance of Austin Aries who was actually booked on the card unlike his previous appearances the last few months.

Next up - A new #1 contender for the Head of the Class title will be crowned between the first Head of the Class champ, Chris Benoit and the leader of the newest stable in Hard Knox, The Rottweilers - LOW KI.



Chris Benoit is bleeding like a faucet.
Low Ki goes for a springboard rana, but Chris Benoit counters it with

[Winner gets a shot at HEAD OF THE CLASS title]:
Chris Benoit defeated Low Ki when Low Ki passed out in the Crippler Crossface in 0:34:48.

After the match, Low Ki was upset at the loss but was boasting at the same time that he'd rather outlast the Crossface and pass out than be embarrassed by Benoit and tap out. Anyways, Chris Benoit got the win and moved up to the top spot as the new #1 contender for the Head of the Class title, currently held by Samoa Joe.

Coming up - It's 4-Way non stop action between rookie sensation Stephen Connors, the high flying Amazing Red, the return of Chris Sabin, and the debut of a newcomer to Hard Knox.

Chris Sabin has returned to HKW with a fury and The Biz has debuted.

After the match, Sabin announced that he has agreed to a 6 month deal with Hard Knox Wrestling, stating that his time in LIW has made him
hungry again for pure Hard Knox action.

Our next contest puts one half of the Heavy Hitters champions, Van Wild in the ring against the leader of The Flock, Raven.



They lock up.
Raven nails Van Wild with a jawbreaker.

Raven quickly rolls out under the bottom rope.
He grabs a beer bottle.

In a quick paced match that was over before it could get good, Van Wild had defeated Raven.

Raven seemed a bit disturbed by this quick loss and was kicking all sorts of items around ringside as he made his way to the back.

Next - BJ Whitmer & Jimmy Jacobs face off against Prince Nana's pride and joy, The Embassy (Jimmy Rave and Fast Eddie Vegas).

Prince Nana and The Embassy continue on an upward march towards the top of the tag ranks with their sights on the HEAVY HITTERS titles, thanks to the cheating tactics of Prince Nana and Fast Eddie.

The next match was bound to test the limits of the ring as Abyss and the big Monsta Mack collide.

The former Heavy Hitter champions, The SAT has put away The Carnage Crew in an amazing matchup. This surely rockets them back towards another shot at regaining the gold.

In a warmup to our next card and the start of the Best of the Best series, Xavier defeated Chris Hero after a series of counters and reversals.

At our next event, we will see Hero face Nigel McGuinness from Bracket A and Xavier will face Tommy Dreamer from Bracket B.

Another member of The Rottweilers was in action as Dan "Mafia" Maff faces Juventud Guerrera.



They're brawling inside the ring area.

After the match, Punk came in the ring to congratulate Joe. He raised Joe's hand and then exited the ring. As Joe continued to celebrate in the ring, Punk came back in with a chair in hand and put the big Samoan down with a chairshot to the back.

Punk grabbed a microphone and had this to say:

"Joe...you may be the HKW Head of the Class but that doesn't mean shit because everyone knows that Ring of Honor is the best around and with CM Punk as their NEW World champion, it just got a whole lot better.

So this is how it's gonna be - I'm challenging you next week to a cage match - champion vs champion.

You better be there!"

Punk threw down the mic and walked out of the ring towards the back.

Once the ring was cleared and Joe was helped to the back, Johnny Stamboli came down to the ring with microphone in hand:

Stamboli: I promised Shane Douglas that I would keep the name of The Triple Threat in a good light and I refuse to leave Virginia with a loss under my belt. Therefore, I'm challenging ANYONE in the back to bring their a** down to the ring RIGHT NOW and fight me.

Stamboli's challenge was answered by the newest signee to Hard Knox, James Gibson

Stamboli is definitely not having a very good time in singles matches since The Triple Threat left town.

After losing at the top of the night, he tried to break even by having a second match against newcomer James Gibson.

BUT that didn't work in Stamboli's favor as Gibson got the win.

After the match, The Rottweilers continued to beat Styles down until they were run off by Juventud Guerrera and Chris Benoit.

Benoit grabbed a microphone and challenged The Rotts to a 6 man match at our next event.

We are a few short hours from the start of what is being referred to now as "Keep Yourself Alive" as Hard Knox Wrestling comes to Woodbridge, CT and the CT Sports Center.

Matches already announced are:

The Best of the Best round robin starts as we have action from both brackets A and B. This is a very important contest as the winner of the entire tournament will be given alot of backing by the HKW offices.
