IWA:NE - Suburban Battle - 05.27.06

rey619Posted on 06/06/05 at 10:01:24

Spencerport, NY is the venue of this Suburban Battle. The DVD takes you backstage, where a throng of security officers bars the way for Christopher Daniels. President DeMei comes out to address him.

Daniels: "What is this bullshit? These guys tells me I can't enter tonight."

DeMei: "Well, we have this problem that you tend to interfere in Low Ki's matches as of late. All over the world, actually. Naturally, I don't want to put my main event in jeopardy. Besides, you don't have a match, do you?"

Daniels: "Then give me one."

DeMei: "Very well, you will fight Rocky Romero one-on-one right now. If you win, you're allowed to stay. If you lose, you have to go home, deal?"

Daniels: "Deal"

Match 1 - Christopher Daniels vs Rocky Romero

Daniels had to defeat Romero here tonight to even be allowed to stay in the
building. Times have changed for the former IWA Heavyweight champ, going from
main eventing to opening in only a few months. You can bet Daniels will blame
Ki for this as well.

Impressive match from Romero this, seeing it as a grand opportunity to advance
his singles career. Rocky showed that he mastered both the strong-style and
the high-flying moves, alternating between stiff kicks and punches and suicida
dives and huracanranas. In a crazy sequence of moves, Daniels countered a
kick to the thigh with a dragon screw, only to have Romero nail him with an
enzuigiri in mid-air. Incredible. Romero had Daniels completely where he
wanted him, when Ricky Reyes suddenly rushed to the ring, knocking Daniels
out on the outside, right in front of the ref. Romero started to argue with
Reyes, who feigned ignorance, and claimed he only wanted to help him. Romero
pushed Reyes away and walked out, disappointed.

Christopher Daniels defeated Rocky Romero by disqualification in 0:05:55.

Match 2 - Mikey Batts, Jerelle Clark & Murder One vs Aerial Express (UltraMantis Black, Scorpio Sky & L.A. Park)

Two debutees here tonight in this six-man tag bout. Scorpio Sky has signed
a 6 month deal, while Murder One is here for one night only. The two newcomers
started out, but Mikey Batts had to force a tag on Murder One when the Urban
Legend started to threaten the ref for counting slow. Jerelle and Mikey decided
to tackle the three masked luchadores on their own now, and the five engaged
in a fast paced, thrilling battle, while Murder One grew frustrated on the
outside. Frustrating could also be used to describe what Mikey Batts must
have felt when he tried to pin UltraMantis, first with the Code Red, then with
the Batts Beater. Both times the pin was broken up by either Scorpio Sky or
LA Park. Enter Murder One, who pushed his way through to the other corner,
manhandling both Scorpio Sky and LA Park, allowing Batts to hit a body press
on UltraMantis Black, rolling him up for the three count.

After the match, Mikey extended his hand to Murder One. Grabbing a mic, Batts
said that Murder One had proved him wrong, and he was sorry that he didn't
involve him in the match more than he did. Murder One reluctantly shook his
hand.

Jerelle Clark, Mikey Batts and Murder One defeated
UltraMantis Black, L.A. Park and Scorpio Sky when M. Batts pinned Mantis after
a flying cross body press in 0:16:33.

Backstage
Cindy Strappen stands by with Homicide, but the Notorious 187 takes her mic and tells her to beat it.

"I'm gonna tell you all a story. A story about a young kid, whose name would be known as Low Ki. When he came to me and Jim Kettner, he was as green as green could be. He didn't know how to throw a punch, didn't know how to lock in a hammerlock or to connect with a decent kick. I taught him everything he knows. But Low Ki, did you really think I taught you everything I KNEW?! I still have some tricks up my sleeve, because as you progressed in your training, I saw your potential. I saw that you, one day, could become a major player. Tonight, Ki, your feeble attempt to portray yourself as a Heavyweight champion comes to an end, as the Notorious 187 finally takes what's his, the IWA Heavyweight title."

Match 3 - Joel Maximo vs Air Paris

Air Paris has slowly emerged as a major player here in IWA:NE. Not many are
aware of his track record so far, having won all but one of his matches. The
one he didn't win was in 1 v 1 action, while his victories has been in tag
matches, X Man tag matches and multiperson matches. A singles win against
Joel Maximo might push him up to the upper midcard level. It seems as if
Air Paris for some reason thrives better when there are several people in the
ring, as Joel was able to control much of the match, gaining a near fall with
a dragon suplex - power bomb combo. Paris had a few ones himself, namely
an Arabian Facebuster that stunned Joel, and a leaping sommersault bodyblock
off a chair that awed the crowd. Eventually though, Joel gained the win after
his Maximo Explosion, halting Paris' momentum here in IWA:NE.

Joel Maximo pinned Air Paris with the Maximo Explosion in 0:11:16.

Match 4 - Jay Lethal vs AJ Styles

Jay Lethal making his in-ring debut here tonight, against non other than AJ
Styles. Lethal's mentor, and Styles nemesis, Samoa Joe was observed pacing
back and forth during this match, obviously wanting to get his hands on Styles
himself, but trusting his protege to do the job. While Jay is a good wrestler,
former RoH Pure Champion, and current JAPW World Champion, he is by no means
AJ Styles. And an angry AJ is even worse. Lethal managed a few near falls,
hitting his dragon suplex twice, but it didn't help much at all as AJ disposed
of Lethal rather quickly with an inverted DDT. Samoa Joe came out and pulled
Jay out of the ring, staring at AJ as he made his way to the back. AJ told
Joe that this wasn't over yet, and that he would get the final laugh at the
former IWA Heavyweight Champion.

AJ Styles pinned Jay Lethal after an Asai moonsault into an inverted DDT in
          0:08:46.

Match 5 - Ricky Reyes vs Mystery opponent

Ricky Reyes also in singles action tonight, against a Mexican wrestler..
oh my god, it's Hector Garza! The IWA has somehow smuggled him in to the
country.. this is not looking good, the immigration police may come any
minute now. Garza controlled the opening minutes, as Reyes probably was
as shocked and baffled as the crowd that Garza was back on US soil. Eventually,
Reyes was able to gain a momentum, sending Garza to the mat with a Tombstone.
This match had the dubious honor of being only one of two matches so far in
IWA's history where the crowd chanted 'Boring, Boring' (the other one being
Samoa Joe vs Chris Candido). Reyes and Garza then decided to do something
with it, and by the end of this even and hard-fought battle, the crowd had
returned from the concession stand, and while not exactly bringing down the
roof, acknowledged this as a fine fight. After the match, Garza disappeared
as quickly as he came, probably dodging the cops.

Ricky Reyes made Hector Garza submit to an armbar submission in 0:19:26.

Backstage
Low Ki snaps the mic away from Cindy Strappen. "Homicide, you might be my teacher, but as far as I am concerned, the student has already surpassed the master. In this Lucasian era, this may sound a bit cliché, but in this case, it's true. Homicide, I have defeated you before, and I will do it again. Christopher Daniels, you stay the hell away from me, or else I will destroy you. This is the final warning."

Match 6 - Border City Patrol vs Pure Power & B-Boy

For the first time ever, the entire BCP will be in the ring at the same time.
Whether this is enought to defeat Pure Power and B-Boy remains to be seen.
Kevin Steen was on fire in the early goings, treating McGuinness to a pair
of crushing power bombs. Next out was B-Boy and Teddy Hart, B-Boy testing
Hart's Dungeon training with a skull-gnashing Shining Wizard that sent Teddy
reeling. Both D'Amore and Bangz jumped on the apron now, and Doug and Walters
attacked them, leading to a wild brawl involving everyone in and at the ring.
In the meantime, Lex Lovett (of all people) gets the pin after a suplex
on B-Boy. When the BCP finds out, they start celebrating, but strangely
don't include Lovett, who has to celebrate on his own in the ring. Pure Power
are not to happy with this sudden loss, and Doug grabs hold of D'Amore,
drilling him to the ground with the Revolution DDT. Grabbing a mic, Doug
yells out a challenge to the BCP.

'Obviously, this cannot go on. As fun as it is fighting you stupid Canadian
d***heads, we must move on with our lives. So, next show... 3 vs 3.. Pure Power
vs Border City Patrol, and the losers must disband.. forever.'

Petey, steen and Hart shake their heads violently, while Elsa tries to
revive D'Amore. Lex Lovett suddenly appears with a microphone, yelling out
angrily to Pure Power.

'You got it, morons! Next show, we'll demolish you!'
Steen and Williams get into Lovett's face afterwards, looking rather angry
and annoyed that the lackey accepted the challenge.

Border City Patrol (Kevin Steen, Lex Lovett, Petey Williams and Teddy Hart)
defeated
Pure Power (Doug Williams, John Walters and Nigel McGuinness) and B-Boy when
Lex Lovett pinned B-Boy after a belly-to-belly suplex in 0:07:07.
Rating: ** 3/4

Match 7 - Samoa Joe vs Elix Skipper

Samoa Joe has been an unstoppable force since the very first show here in
IWA, having only lost 4 of his 18 matches, and only 2 singles matches. Prime
Time is on the other side of the scale, having only beat Kevin Steen of his
8 matches so far. So unless a miracle occurred, the winning and losing streak
of the respective wrestlers would only continue. Early in the match, the
opponents ended up on the outside, where Samoa Joe executed the Island Driver
on the concrete floor. As he was preparing for the Ole Ole Kick, AJ Styles
ran in from the back, clobbering Joe from behind. The ref tried to send
Styles back, but AJ and Joe continued to brawl until Batts, Clark, the
Pitbulls and B-Boy came from the back, dragging Styles away from Joe.
Joe still possessed the advantage, and pulled Skipper back into the ring
for another Island Driver. However, Styles must have done some damage to
Joe's shoulders and back, as Skipper was able to counter the Island Driver
with a crucifix, rolling him up for the upset win. A wild guess, but the
Styles - Joe feud is far from over..

Elix Skipper pinned Samoa Joe after a crucifix in 0:08:03.

Match 8 - Homicide vs Low Ki(c) for the IWA Heavyweight Title

When Homicide trained Low Ki, he probably didn't suspect that he one day
would be challenging his student for a heavyweight title. Still, he must
be proud of his former pupil, even extending his hand before the match.
Ki slapped it away, before they locked up. These two know each other so
well, and it seemed like they knew what the other was up to one step ahead
of the move. In a match with a lot of blocks and counters, the crowd was
split in the middle, and both men got both cheers and boos. This being
both men's home state, family and friends were in attendance. After an initial
upper hand for the challenger, Ki came back with a flurry of kicks to soften
his trainer, putting Homicide away with the Ki Krusher in a rather short
match for a title match. As Low Ki exited the ring, the Fallen Angel Christopher
Daniels came from the back with a chair, laying out Low Ki with it, then
pulled him back up into the Angel's Wings, sending him crashing down on
the chair.

As Daniels stood above Low Ki, cursing him out, Homicide came from behind
with a sucker punch on Daniels lower back, aiding his pupil. Homicide dragged
Daniels back into the ring, executing the Cop Killa on him. Low Ki returned
to the ring as well, Ki Krushing Daniels before shaking hands with Homicide.

Low Ki pinned Homicide with the Ki Krusher in 0:10:34.
Rating: *** 1/2
(Low Ki retained the IWA Heavyweight Title.)

Backstage
"This is Cindy Strappen, standing outside of Generation Next's locker room. Oh, there is Jason Cross. Jason, Jason, what is going on here? Who is this person you have brought in to make Matt Hardy's life even more miserable?

Jason: "Hey, who let you in here?"

Cindy: "I work here. I have a backstage pass."

Jason: "Oh. Well, you just have to wait for the match, like everyone else. You really think the Role Model would tell you? Kids out there, you should never tell a secret."

Cindy: "But messing with people's personal lives is OK?"

Jason: "Well, that's mostly Jack Evans anyway, I'm just in it for the money."

Cindy: "Well, case closed. This is Cindy Strappen, backstage with the 'role model' Jason Cross"

Jason: "Why were you making inverted commas when you said Role Model?"

Cindy: "I wasn't, I was.. I was doing 'thumbs up'"

Match 9 - Jack Evans vs Matt Hardy

Main event time, as a furious Matt Hardy takes on Jack Evans. The big
question was, WHO did Jack Evans have in the back? Someone who would crush
Matt Hardy once again? Evans barely came out from the back before Hardy
rushed him, brawling in the aisle before finally moving back to the ring.
They didn't stay for long though, as Hardy clotheslines Evans out, falling
out as well. They brawled over to the timekeeper, Evans smashing Hardy's face
into the ring bell. Francine tries to low blow Hardy, but Hardy shuts his
knees, trapping Francine's hand as he takes her down with the Twist of Fate
on the outside. This brings out Jason Cross who goes after Matt, but is
stopped by Jeff who smashes a chair over Jason's head.

Back in the ring, Jack pleads with Matt, who doesn't take prisoners today,
executing the Twist of Fate on Jack as well. The ref is occupied admonishing
the ringside interferers, and when he sees the pin attempt, Jack has recovered
and kicks out. In the meantime, Francine tries the low blow on Jeff, succeeding
this time. As Jeff groans in agony, Jason Cross cuffs him to the guardrail.
As ref Stomp tries to get Cross to unlock Jeff, Francine jumps on the apron,
but accidentally hits Jack Evans with the dreaded stilletto heel instead!
Matt covers, but the ref is still busy, so Francine climbs to the top rope,
determined to break the pin. Matt rolls away, causing Francine to perform
a stilletto flyng foot stomp on Jack Evans instead! Matt tosses Francine
out of the ring and covers Jack for the 1-2-3!

Matt's celebration is cut short as Jason Cross enters the ring, sending Matt
down with a backbreaker. Francine recovers and slides in yet another pair
of handcuffs. Now, both Hardyz are handcuffed. Francine grabs a mic and slides
into the ring.

Matt Hardy defeated Jack Evans via pinfall in 0:05:16.

[Jason Cross interfered against Matt Hardy.]

'I know Jack would've liked to be the one to say this, Matt Hardy, but he is
no condition to right now, so I'll just go ahead and do it.' She turns toward
the back, obviously awaiting someone. Then, 'LoveFuryPassionEnergy' plays,
as Lita makes her way down to the ring! The crowd is going crazy as they boo
her heavily, even throwing freedom fries and chips at her. Lita walks into
the ring as Matt cannot believe what he is seeing. Francine is laughing, and
even Jack tries to (but realizes that laughing makes the pain even worse).

'See Matt? We brought here the one person that CRUSHED your heart. And now
she will crush it once again right in front of you, you arrogant prick'

Lita smiles viciously at Matt, as she pulls Jack Evans to his feet, embracing him.

'She never loved you Matt, and she will prove that now by making out with Jack
Evans in front of all these New York trash!'

The crowd boo heavily as Lita takes Jack's face in her hands, bringing her
lips close to his... then quickly knees him in the you-know-where. Francine
is not able to react fast enough, as Lita takes her down with a clothesline.
Jason Cross comes from behind, trying to restrain Lita, but she takes him
down as well with a jawbreaker. Lita grabs some keys from Francine, quickly
unlocking Matt as Generation Next scurry away like the dogs they are. Lita
moves outside to unlock Jeff as well.

Lita picks up a microphone and walks back into the ring, facing Matt.

'I know you won't forgive me for what I did to you, Matt.. but I just wanted
to do this to show you that I still care for you.. and to give Generation
Next some well-deserved payback for what they said about you.. me.. about
us.. as any comments should not be directed at you, but at me.'

Lita then lowers the mic, and extends her hand at Matt. Matt looks to the
crowd, and not surprisingly, most of them don't want him to do it.

Matt motions for the microphone. 'Amy.. I thank you for helping out Jeff and
myself today. But as you say, this doesn't change a whole lot. I am not going
to forgive you, and I will not shake your hand. That does not mean that I
don't appreciate your wrestling skills, and the stunt you pulled today. I gained
a measure of revenge on Jack Evans today.. but I know for a fact that Jeff
wants some too.. and maybe you do as well. So... here is what I propose..
next show... will be the return of Team XTreme.. taking on Generation Next
in an intergender six man/woman tag match. After that.. you can get your
sorry ass back to the Worlds Worst Entertainment.'

Matt and Jeff leave without as much as looking at Lita as the DVD automatically
ejects from your DVD player.

IWA:NE - Newsreport 06.01.06

IWA:NE stays in the state of New York, as they move on to Ossining for It All Ends. The title reflects the huge 6-man tag match where the Border City Patrol and Pure Power fight each other one last time. The losers will be forced to disband. Scott D'Amore is confident in victory, but to ensure this victory, he has allegedly fired Lex Lovett from the BCP. Did D'Amore forget that it was Lovett who scored the pin in the 8-man tag at Suburban Battle ?

Another huge 6-man tag match is the reunion of Team eXtreme, as Lita joins forces with the Hardy Boyz to face Generation Next & Francine. Lita may have won back some of Matt's favor in Spencerport when she low-blowed Jack Evans, and a win here would put her closer to his grace, yet again.

Homicide didn't succeed in his title match at Suburban Battle, and has been removed from the title picture. Homicide will fight Mikey Batts in Ossining, while Christopher Daniels will go 1-on-1 with local boy Matt Striker for the # 1 contendership. The crusade of the Fallen Angel may yet bear fruits.

While Generation Next is confident on the top of IWA's tag-team ranks, the remainder of the teams are jockeying for position. Expect a few tag matches in order to set up a ranking system.

At the NOAH Invades Reading show, Mohammed Yone and the Messiah fought to a no contest as they disappeared inside a moving bus. the Messiah was interested in a match to settle this thing once and for all, and thought he had his chance when Yone returned to do some work on the east coast, including HKW. Yone, however, refused. This caused the Messiah to contact Homicide, who, along with his gang of thugs and ruffians broke into Yone's hotel room and stole his passport. the Messiah has told Yone he will get the passport back if he agrees to face him at It All Ends. Yone has reluctantly agreed, and we at the Newsreport hope the Messiah's actions doesn't ruin the good relationship with NOAH.

Matches signed:

Mikey Batts vs Homicide
Border City Patrol vs Pure Power
Generation Next (incl. Francine) vs Team eXtreme
Jay Lethal vs Elix Skipper
Aerial Express vs Briscoe Bros
the SAT vs Havana Pitbulls
Yone vs Messiah in a Chairshot Survival Last Man Standing Match

Also scheduled: Jerelle Clark, Pat Kenney, Balls Mahoney & Buck Quartermain

NB! As you may see, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Low Ki are all absent from the show. Styles is defending his TNA title against Ron Killings the next day, and TNA wanted him there to tape some promos. It is expected that Samoa Joe debuts at this ppv, so that is why he is absent as well. Low Ki juggles his bookings carefully, but NOAH needed him this weekend, and after the Messiah/Homicide/Yone passport incident, IWA management saw no other choice than to let Ki go. It is expected he will defend his title later this month, at our show at Lawrence, Massachussets - named Settling the Score.
