ASWA PPV: 9/17/05...

americamamushiPosted on 05/31/05 at 09:51:01

Alright, DCW has been on hold for a while.  I just haven't had the creative energy when it comes to TNM lately.  I want to contribute and post a circuit though.  Hence this: the All-Star Wrestling Association.  I'm using CotD's ROH Rules, because for me it's a lot easier to use a ruleset and fill in the blanks than to do it all from scratch like I was with DCW.  I don't want to hear any bitching about me using a ruleset (Snabbit, I'm looking in your direction ;) )  Anyway, here we go.

ASWA is a circuit put on the national scene from the get-go by a corporation whose owner has always been a big wrestling fan and decided to put his money to good use in that area.  ASWA signs wrestlers to contracts, but since the federation at the moment only runs a monthly PPV (which is sold at a much lower price than the competition) on Saturday night, wrestlers are free to work independant federations as well as long as ASWA comes first.

The (Random) Roster...

*The Dudley Boys music hits and Bubba & D-Von make their appearance at the entrance.  They give the 3D sign, but all they get are boos since they've returned to their old ECW ways and turned on the fans.  They get down to
the ring and Bubba asks for a microphone*

Bubba Ray Dudley: Hello Oakland. *pauses for boos* Well, it may be Oakland outside this ring, but in this ring tonight it's Dudleyville.  ECW may be no more but it's spirit lives inside Dudleyville and that's why we're going to dominate the ASWA tag division.  No one can stand a chance against the ECW hardcore mentality.  You put your body on the line and if you're ECW you might walk away, but if you're not that you got no idea what kinda hell you're in for.  Those tag team titles are as...

*Bubba is interupted by music and the appearance of Jon Dahmer and Cory Kastle.  Dahmer has a microphone and doesn't look too happy*

Jon Dahmer: Am I hearing you correctly?  ECW is hardcore?  No, no, no... CZW is hardcore.  More hardcore than ECW, and more importantly, in CZW we give our fans what they want.  We care about our fans. *cheers*  All you care about is yourselves, but the fans should be everything to a wrestler.

BRD: Look Dahmer, why don't you shut the hell up about things you know nothing about.  You think you're hardcore?

JD: Yeah.

BRD: You think you're extreme?

JD: You're damn right I do.

BRD: Well why don't you come down here and show us what it is that you THINK makes you extreme.  The Dudley Boys versus Jon Dahmer and that little bitch that followed you out.  ECW vs. CZW, in a HARDCORE MATCH!

*The fans cheer at this notion and Dahmer & Kastle run down to the ring*

Piper apparently hasn't lost a step in the ring.  He also showcased that he has probably the most devistating sleeperhold in the wrestling business today since many younger wrestlers take such simple, tried and true holds
for granted.

*The ring announcer introduces former Osaka Pro champion Billy Ken Kid.  Then the Harvard fight song brings out Christopher Nowinski in his Harvard letter jacket.  He's carrying a rather thick book under his arm as he walks to the ring smirking smugly at the crowd.  Once in the ring he tells Billy Ken Kid to wait for a moment and asks for a microphone.*

Christopher Nowinski: I'd like to read to you a poem by D.H. Lawrence before my match.  It's called "From A College Window," and I hope you enjoy it.

*Opens book to a flagged page and begins to read*

CN: The glimmer of the limes, sun-heavy, sleeping, Goes trembling...

*Billy Ken Kid shouts something in Japanese at Nowinski*

CN: Hey!  What is that, gibberish?  Did you go to Yale or something? *chuckles*  ANyway, where was I... Goes trembling past me up the College wall...

*Billy Ken Kid onces against shouts at him in Japanese*

CN: Look, Asianese or whatever wasn't one of my many, many majors at Harvard.

*It appears as though Billy Ken Kid has given up trying to get on with the match*

CN: Anyway... Below, the lawn *the crowd, who has been booing the whole time keeps getting louder and louder with their boos and chants as he reads* in soft blue shade is keeping the daisy-froth quiescent, softly in... thrall... *snapping the book closed* DAMN IT!  WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?  Don't you want a little bit of culture in your miserable little lives?  All you cretins should be happy that I'm giving you a break from your damn *does finger quotations* "Rap music" and "MTV" and "doobies."  There are so many airheads in this room I'm suprised we haven't lifted off the ground, but of course the silicone is probably weighting us down.  You make me sick.

*Nowinski finally puts the book down angrily in the corner and takes off the jacket*

(Pierre Carl Oulette won the ASWA Great American Championship title.)

Adams doesn't look pleased that he lost to Oulette after that small package, but it doesn't look like he's going to make a thing out of it, not tonight at least, but you can see revenge is on his mind.  In the ring however the
ring announcer awards Pierre with the Great American title belt.

Well Mick Foley pulls out the win by making Sting submit.  Bret Hart was seemed a bit angry that he didn't win, most likely believe that if it had been him in the ring things would be a lot different.  Hart argues with the fans at ringside as he walks to be back with a sour look on his face.  The PPV fades out with Mick Foley celebrating in the ring as the fans chant his name.

Well, it certainly was the battle of submission holds as Mick Foley came out on top. Can't wait to the Round Robin match between these guys.

The Nowinski section was quite good, was he like that when he was in WWE? I never got a chance to see him.. anyway, great promo work.

I was kind of thinking that it'd come down to a battle between the Sharpshooter and the Scorpion Deathlock.  I guess if it counts for anything Hart fought out of Sting's.  Round robin should be good.  Think I'll book/run it in a few minutes.

The Nowinski section was quite good, was he like that when he was in WWE? I never got a chance to see him.. anyway
I honestly can't remember all that much about how Nowinski was in WWE for some reason.  Probably just because my memory has been so horrible about things for a while.  I just remember that I liked him and wish he could return.  :)  If this isn't how he was, then I think it's how he should have been.  To me it seems so natural for him.

great promo work.
Thanks, that's always what I worry most about when doing cards. :)
