HARD KNOX WRESTLING
"MORRISTOWN MADNESS"
DATE: JUNE 24, 2006
LOCATION: MENNAN ARENA, MORRISTOWN, NJ

HKW took it's first step out of the NY area with tonight's show in Morristown, NJ at the Mennan Sports Arena in Morristown, NJ. The Ring of Honor promotion held their event here last night and the crowd was buzzing before our show with rumors that some RoH guys would show up in the building and maybe even in the ring as well.

We started our night off with HC Loc & Tony Devito in the middle of the ring with microphone in hand. Tony Devito got right to the point and talked about how they havent had the best of luck as of late especially with their handicap loss to Jack Ripper 2 weeks back. He then went on to put a challenge out to anyone in the locker room to meet them in the ring.

BJ Whitmer came down to the ring by himself and HC Loc had this to say:

"Hey Whitmer, last time I checked... Rhyno ain't around Hard Knox no more. So just who is it that ya gonna tag with NOW, huh?"

Tony Devito piped in with "Maybe he'll go with Mohammed Yone" and both men laughed.

Their laughter was cut short as we heard over the loudspeaker "HUSS...HUSS...HUSS" and down the
aisle ran "The Barbaric Berzerker" and Whitmer's regular tag partner over in Ring of Honor, JIMMY JACOBS!

The Carnage Crew were coming off a terrible handicap loss to Jack Ripper a few weeks back at The Chris Candido Memorial Event.

Tonight, they issued an open challenge and it was answered by BJ Whitmer and Jimmy Jacobs, who happen to be the reigning tag champions in the Ring of Honor promotion.

Unfortunately, Whitmer and Jacobs did not go over well against The Crew but with Jacobs now signed to a 6 month contract with HKW, there's a chance for them to get a second chance.

Next up - Chris Benoit faces Abyss in a SUBMISSION match.

These men have met on 3 previous occasions and all 3 times, Benoit came out on top.

Is this the night that Abyss gains his first victory over The Crippler?

Chris Benoit and Abyss met many times before in HKW and this time, it was no different.

What possessed Abyss to agree to a submission match against Chris Benoit...i'll never know.

Coming up - Amazing Red faces JACK RIPPER

Amazing Red came down to the ring and we awaited the arrival of Jack Ripper. His music played not once but twice and NO Jack Ripper. A HKW official came down to the ring and handed the ring announcer a note.

Johnny Stamboli got a shot at Randy Orton's HEAD OF THE CLASS title after his 2 straight fall victory in the main event of our last event.

In the end, Orton got the victory and as he was celebrating on the top turnbuckle, we heard "THE CHAMP IS HERE" by Jadakiss and out walked Ring of Honor's PURE champion, SAMOA JOE!!!

Joe entered the ring and stood toe to toe with Randy Orton and told him that he was here tonight to show all these fans what a REAL champion looks like.

Orton did not take too kind to this statement and began to brawl with Joe. HKW officials broke this up in due fashion as we went to intermission.

Unlike the last time they teamed up, Styles and Daniels did not see eye to eye and it cost them the win. Daniels was in a pinning predicament and Styles just chose NOT to make the save. Something tells me these two will NOT be on the same side of the ring anymore.

We were treated to a special treat as RING OF HONOR'S World champion, AUSTIN ARIES jumped the rail and got in Daniel's face. Hmm.. both HKW and LIW holding shows in New Jersey on the same day? Can't be good for business...

Whitmer & Jacobs losing to the Carnage Crew, but still manages to get a title match next show? Man, they must have a great agent to put that into their contracts..

I hate it when people pass out in the figure four.. wouldn't someone be pinned before that happened? Still, Benoit shows that he's the man. I don't know if Abyss has submission moves at all.

Sean Waltman seems to be the #1 substitute all across the US nowadays.. and he won! So is Ripper in trouble now? Or are the HKW booking office afraid of the huge guy? I would have been... it's rather safe to suspend Jeff Hardy.. dunno if I'd done the same with guys the size of Abyss/Snitsky etc.

Nice to see people like Joe, Aries and Punk out there. My guess is that they will become top players in no time.

Shaun SindelmanPosted on 05/20/05 at 14:56:15

Hmm...wouldja believe me if i told ya HKW held an afternoon event to avoid booking conflicts with LIW? It's the only way Justin Credible worked both shows (and ended up losing at LIW) while Sean Waltman was able to gain 2 wins in 1 day.

Yea, Whitmer & Jacobs getting a title shot comes out of this new `partnership' with RoH. It remains to be seen if RoH will agree to stop booking their guys on LIW shows though. =)

I thought about how stupid of a booking the Abyss vs Benoit match was with the Submission Rules stip applied and yes i definitely agree that passing out to a figure 4 is impossible since the ref would count your shoulders down first. Only explanation this time around is that pinfalls didnt count in a Submission match so the ref was able to just declare Abyss passed out.

Well, Ripper is definitely nobody to tangle with. He will receive no punishment and will just have to face more even sized opponents from now on - i.e Abyss.

Yep - expect to see more come out of this RoH/HKW partnership over the next several events and a HUGE surprise coming contract negotiation time.

I would, and kudos to both for holding up with this tight schedule ;)
