rey619Posted on 05/16/05 at 16:58:19

Match 1 - Round Robin Match I - the Messiah vs AJ Styles

AJ also competed in the very first Round Robin tournament here in IWA, but
was unable to fight both matches, as Randy Orton injured Styles in-between
the matches.

Styles and Messiah engaged in a violent streetfight, Messiah cracking a cookie
tray over Styles head early on. Styles responded in style (pun intended),
and to just send a clear message to Samoa Joe, Styles executed the Pele
kick on Messiah twice. The crowd were off their feet on this one, as the
Messiah slowly regained his momentum, drilling AJ to the ground with an
inverted DDT. the Messiah took Styles to the top, intending a superplex,
but AJ blocked it and caught him in the Styles Clash from the ropes for
a fine win.

AJ Styles pinned The Messiah with the Styles Clash in 0:09:59.

Match 2 - The Havana Pitbulls vs The Hardy Boyz

The Hardy Boyz failed to win the gold on two occasions, and since Generation
Next were in Japan to defend their titles in NOAH tonight, they had to take
out their frustration on the Havana Pitbulls, another team who have tried
but failed defeating the near invincible duo of Cross and Evans.

Jeff and Matt controlled the majority of the match, drawing on their years
of experience to simply out-maneouver the Pitbulls. However, the Pitbulls'
hard-hitting style is something the Hardyz aren't quite used to, and when
Romero finally manage to hit his Shining Wizard kick on Jeff, he almost
collapsed from the impact. Rocky then put Jeff in Romero Special nr 2, an
excruciatingly painful hold. Jeff tried in vain to reach Matt, but just
couldn't. After almost a minute in the hold, the ref checked his arm,
and ref McAteer was about to give away the match when Jeff raised his hand,
fighting out of the hold to the cheer of the crowd, sending Rocky reeling
with a Flatliner. He then made his way to his feet and reached out for
Matt, but Rocky rolled him up for the pin. What a disappointing start for
the Hardy Boyz, three straight defeats!

The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero) defeated
The Hardy Boyz (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) when R. Romero pinned J. Hardy after
an inside cradle in 0:09:27.

Footage for Japan
A short video from Generation Next's two matches on the NOAH tour was shown. First, they lost a non-title match against Kotaru Suzuki and Ricky Marvin. They then prevailed in a title match, due to interference from Francine. We then cut to a video segment from backstage in Japan.

Francine: "IWA, you see that? My boys defended your tag-team titles in Japan, making these the IWA World Tag Team Titles."

Evans: "Yo, bitches. You know something, it's ovah. I mean, it's really ovah."

Cross: "Why're you talking like that? Ovah?? What kind of language is that?"

Francine: "Please boys, let me do the talking. IWA, you brought in the Hardy Boyz. It didn't work. You paired up Homicide and the Messiah. It didn't work. the Briscoes, the SAT's, the Havana Pitbulls. It DID NOT WORK! When we return to IWA in 20 days, we realize that there are no more competitors for Jason and Jack. We will still be there though, showing off our brand new, IWA WORLD tag team titles."

Jack: "IWA, you just got served!"

Match 3 - Top Contenders Match

Homicide defeated Skipper three weeks ago in a 2/3 falls match, but this
time, only the first fall counted. And the winner would get his chance to
face Low Ki or Petey Williams. Homicide has had countless attempts, but
this is Skipper's first top contender match.

After an exchange of chops, Skipper dished out a spin kick, sending Homicide
to his knees. Skipper continued with his vast arrays of martial arts kick,
forcing Homicide to retreat to the outside to gain his bearings. He succeeded
for a while, trapping Skipper in the corner and raining blows on him, but
Skipper fought his way out, dropping the Notorious 187 with a faceslam.
Elix went for the pin, but Homicide rolled out and locked on an STF, forcing
Skipper to go for the ropes. Skipper was then hit with an Exploder, before
Prime Time managed to execute a Northern Lights for the close call. This
match could go either way, and the crowd loved it. Homicide ducked a
clothesline, gave Skipper a kick to the stomach and performed the Cop Killa
to win himself a title shot.

Homicide pinned Elix Skipper with the Cop Killa in 0:14:01.
Rating: *** 3/4

Match 4 - Six Man Tag Streetfight, Border City Patrol vs Pure Power

Pure Power and Border City Patrol meet again, this time in a streetfight!

Lovett and Williams squared off, former bodyguard of BCP vs present one in
a struggle of powerhouses, while Walters and Hart engaged in a technical
struggle on the mat. Kevin Steen did his usual high-flying antics, nailing
McGuinness with a sommersault legdrop. The action was fast-paced, and the BCP
worked as a cohesive unit for perhaps the first time in a long while, taking
complete control of the match around the 20 minute mark. All six fought at
the same time in various places around the ring, requiring 3 officials.

Steen dropped Walters with the Package Piledriver, but couldn't get the pin.
Lex Lovett then came over and pushed Steen away, saying that he could get
the job done. Walters surprises Lovett and drills him down with the Hurricane
DDT, and as Nigel takes care of Steen, ref Ohlsson counts the win in this
half-hour bout.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Match:
Pure Power (Doug Williams, John Walters and Nigel McGuinness) defeated
Border City Patrol (Kevin Steen, Lex Lovett and Teddy Hart) when J. Walters
pinned Lex Lovett with the Hurricane DDT in 0:29:04.
Rating: *** 3/4

Match 5 - Round Robin Match II - AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe

If Styles wins this match, he is the official winner of Round Robin II,
meaning that Joe vs Messiah doesn't mean a thing. Joe and Styles had a little
run-in three weeks ago, so tempers were flaring at the start of this match.

Joe used his strength and force to pummel Styles to the ground, while Styles
used his agility, quickly taking Joe down with a kip-up Frankensteiner. Styles
was tired after his match with Messiah, so he knew he had to take down Joe
fast. He surprised the big Samoan with a Discus Lariat, but Joe had the
fortitude to survive it, instead picking Styles up and dropping him with
the Island Driver. Samoa continued to beat up on AJ until several refs
managed to convince him to go to the back. the Phenomenal One was carried
to the back while the crowd chanted his name.

Samoa Joe pinned AJ Styles with the Island Driver in 0:07:34.

Backstage, Scott D'Amore is having a fit at the BCP for losing yet another match. Elsa Bangz is busy massaging Teddy Hart's shoulders.

"Every time you step in the ring with that stupid Briton, you lose! I can't believe you guys. Don't you want to be stars? Don't you want to have success?"

Lovett: "Hey, I'm still feeling a little sore from when Low Ki broke my finger. Cut me some slack, will you."

Steen: "It's Hart's fault. The Hart curse has affected us as well."

Hart: "Hey, watch your mouth, boy. There's no such thing as a curse. Don't blame the incompetence of my family on me."

D'Amore: "Enough is enough. Next show, I'm gonna get you someone you CAN defeat. It isn't proper for a future world champion to hang around with losers," he says, patting an openly nervous Petey Williams on the back.
"Now, let's watch the next match, I've heard it's a couple of Canadian chicks. Should be good."

Match 6 - Women's Match - Allison Danger vs LuFisto

Two lovely Canadian lasses squared off here tonight, Allison taking the heel
role, pulling on LuFisto's hair and screaming to the crowd to shut up.
Both these two girls knew how to put up a fight, giving the crowd value
for their money. Allison kicked out of one LuFisto's Law, but not the second
as the First Lady of Hardcore picked up the win.

LuFisto pinned Allison Danger with the LuFisto's Law in 0:07:38.

Match 7 - 5 Man Elimination Match featuring Buck Quartermain, UltraMantis Black, Pat Kenney, Air Paris & Balls Mahoney

Paris and UltraMantis tried to gang up on Balls Mahoney, seeing his size
as the greatest threat in this match. Kenney and Buck brawled on the outside,
so nobody cared about them. A great deal of near falls in the first 20 minutes,
Kenney and Balls were already busted open after some shots with a trashcan,
but Balls wanted to win this, so he started eliminating people, taking down
Buck with the Nutcracker Suite. Air Paris then hit a vicious enzuigiri on
Kenney, and Balls snuck his way through to make the cover. As Balls celebrated,
an offended Paris rolled him up for the pin. UltraMantis tried to take
advantage of this, attempting a move from the top. Air Paris simply stepped
aside and covered UltraMantis for the win in this exciting 5-man match.

5-Man Battle Royal:
Air Paris won a 5-man Battle Royal:
x B. Mahoney defeated B. Quartermain after the Nutcracker Suite in
          0:21:19
        x B. Mahoney defeated P. Kenney in 0:23:57
x Paris defeated B. Mahoney after an inside cradle in 0:24:08
x Paris defeated Mantis after a side step in 0:24:13

Backstage, Homicide passes Low Ki on his way to a vending machine. The top contender and the IWA Champion stares at each other, but nothing happens. Air Paris comes by, fresh from his victory in the 5-way Elimination match.

Paris: "The young padawan has come a long way, eh? Maybe the student has become the master," Paris says, quoting well-known Star Wars phrases. Homicide stares at him incredulously, before rammin Paris' head violently into the vending machine. Homicide stomps away on Paris, before Low Ki stops him.

Homicide: "What? Ya got something to say to me?"

Low Ki: "Yeah, you should concentrate more on the head region," he says, helping Homicide stomp away. Homicide puts some quarters in the vending machine, grabbing a pepsi and emptying the contents on Air Paris.

Ki: "I suppose he is right though, we will soon see if the apprentice has become the master."

Homicide: "Yeah.. we'll see.. "

Match 8 - Round Robin Match II - Samoa Joe vs the Messiah

The best Messiah could hope for was a tie, while Samoa had every reason to
aim for a win. A victory in the Round Robin would almost guarantee him a
top contendership match the next time around.

The Messiah opened up Samoa Joe early on with the same cookie tray he used
on AJ earlier. Samoa didn't let that faze him, as he punched the living hell
out of Messiah, almost dropping him early with the Island Driver.
Messiah desperately tried to take Joe down, but the former champ withstood
his attacks. For the first time in IWA, the crowd cheered for the Messiah,
and Joe really enjoyed the boos, taking time to bust open Messiah as well
with the tray, before taking down the Messiah with a flying forearm to win
the Round Robin challenge.

Samoa Joe pinned The Messiah after a flying forearm in 0:10:03.
Rating: *** 1/4

Match 9 - Tag Scramble involving The Briscoe Brothers, Clark/Batts, B-Boy/Joel Maximo and Adam Flash/LA Park

The Briscoes with the experience advantage here in this four corner match.
Mikey Batts seemingly back with Jerelle, but for tonight only? Or a permanent
result of his promising singles career suddenly coming to a halt when he
injured himself a couple of months back.

B-Boy and Joel teamed up once again, probably due to the fact that Jose and
the management aren't actually seeing eye to eye for the moment. Still, the
New Age Punisher and one-half of the SAT's had obviously rehearsed a couple
of moves together, something poor Adam Flash felt profoundly when a brilliant
double move sent him crashing to the ground early on. L.A. Park really knows
how to play the crowd as a heel, getting under their skin at every chance he
gets. B-Boy manages to tag Park, and the Chairman enters, taking out B-Boy
with a leg lariat before tagging Batts to avoid revenge. The Mexican is surely
a veteran of this business.

As always happens with these matches, it all becomes a blur. Outside, Mark
Briscoe pummels Batts to the ground with a fisherman buster, while B-Boy
slams Clark hard to the mat with a spinebuster. It's every team for themselves,
as high-flying spots and brilliant double maneuvers are all over the place.
L.A. Park eventually picks up the win for his team with a clever maneuver,
hitting Jerelle with a high cross body, making the pin while Flash holds
his legs down.

Four Corners Match:
Adam Flash and L.A. Park defeated B-Boy and Joel Maximo,
The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) and
Mikey Batts and Jerelle Clark when Park pinned J. Clark after
a flying cross body press in 0:27:20.

(Sabian no-showed.)

Footage is shown of a recent RoH event, where Low Ki and the Pitbulls brutally attack Puma and Delirious after a match. the Fallen Angel comes to the rescue, sending the Pitbulls out of the ring and attacking Low Ki. We then go to a pre-taped interview of Daniels.

Fallen Angel: "I bet you were surprised to see me in RoH, Ki? You see, that is the consequences of your actions against the ONE. I WILL haunt you throughout the indy scene of North America. I will be ringside at every show you embark on, be it in New York, L.A. or Japan. I will get to you one way or the other. In the end, you will beg me to leave you be. Sometimes, I won't even be physically involved in your match, my presence will be sufficient enough to make your mental state snap. Will I interfere? Will I not? You will never know. Eventually, you will beg me to forgive you. You will beg me to accept the IWA Heavyweight belt. That won't do it for me. For me to stop doing this, you must stop wrestling. You hear me Ki??" Daniels grabs the camera, shaking it violently. "Because of you, I'm losing it! I'm totally losing it! I can't sleep, I can't eat. I'm a wreck because of you and your betrayal. And I want you to feel the same. You better sleep with one eye open... ONE EYE OPEN!"

Match 10 - Petey Williams vs Low Ki for the IWA Heavyweight Title

Low Ki specifically warned D'Amore, Bangz or anyone else from the BCP to
come down to ringside, so Petey walked to the ring alone, seemingly more
nervous than ever. And why shouldn't he? This was the biggest match of his
career, and for once, he had to do it alone.

Low Ki countered an early cradle suplex attempt into a figure-four, sapping
Petey's strength. After Low Ki's recent actions against the Fallen Angel,
Petey Williams actually got more cheers than boos, a first for the Canadian.
That is not to say that Low KI didn't have fans of himself, or simply fans
who, despite his actions, would rather have him than Williams as champ.
Petey proved in this match that he was capable of mat-wrestling, grounding
Low Ki with a chinlock to get even from the figure-four. Petey then engaged
Ki in a series of kicks, not a wise decision when dealing with Ki, who fired
back with stiffer and harder kicks. Still, Williams fought fiercely, determined
to win this title without the help of the Border City Patrol. After a DDT,
Petey put Ki in position for the Canadian Destroyer, executing it flawlessly.
He quickly covered Ki, but the champion kicked out in the last possible instant.

Seeing that Ki was wounded, Scott D'Amore ran down to the ring. The ref saw
it, and quickly ordered him out of there. This caused the needed distraction,
as Elsa Bangz made her way through the crowd, handing Petey a kendo stick,
which he used on the helpless Ki. Yet, Ki kicked out! What should Petey
do in order to win? He rolled Ki out, intending to punish him on the outside.
Ki blocked his attempt to send him into the ringpost, instead sending Petey
into it. Desperate to have Petey win, Elsa Bangz grabbed the kendo stick
and smashed it on Low Ki, causing the DQ. Low Ki no-sold the smash with the
stick, and gave Bangz a stiff kick to the thigh, sending her down screaming.
As D'Amore wisely made his exit, something had become clear to everyone.
Petey Williams had out-wrestled Ki, but Ki simply would not lose. Not to
Petey, not to anyone. Can anyone pin Ki at all?

Low Ki defeated Petey Williams by disqualification in 0:14:53.
Rating: ***
[Scott D'Amore and Elsa Bangz interfered against Low Ki.]

IWA News Report - 05.02.06

We're still 11 days away from IWA's next event, but at this time, it is crucial to get out as much information as possible. The Reading, PA show will feature an Inter-promotional cup, as NOAH guests the east coast. This comes as a direct result from Jack Evans' comments in Japan last week that IWA and American wrestling was superior to Japanese. While it certainly received a lot of heel heat, it also upset Misawa himself, who reminded the IWA Tag Champs that NOAH did get the win in the 10-man I Quit match. Even so, NOAH is sending five of its top wrestlers to IWA to see who comes on top. The NOAH wrestlers are: 2 Cold Scorpio, Mohammed Yone, KENTA, Kenta Kobashi and veteran Akira Taue

No word as of who they will face, but strong rumors indicate that Low Ki will defend his Heavyweight title, and it is believed that either Kobashi or Taue will be his opponent.

AJ Styles is obviously not through with Samoa Joe, and has challenged him to yet another fight, this time with no Round Robin challenge hanging over his head. Joe has reluctantly agreed, saying that he really should be getting some decent opposition soon, but that he can play with AJ in the meantime.

Border City Patrol has not had a great deal of luck so far, and it has gotten worse since D'Amore kicked out Doug Williams and replaced him with Lex Lovett. This time, they will take on B-Boy & the Spanish Announce Team.

We don't know who else will be present at this stage, but John Walters and Nigel McGuinness will be in NOAH, so it is believed that Doug Williams will go one of the matches against a NOAH star, probably because of his background in the promotion.

Needless to say, IWA fans are looking forward to this inter-promotional match.
