HARD KNOX - LINEUP FOR "CHRIS CANDIDO MEMORIA

Shaun SindelmanPosted on 05/05/05 at 04:57:04

**HARD KNOX UPDATE**

The lineup for the CHRIS CANDIDO MEMORIAL show has been finalized with many special guest stars who have worked with Chris over the years. It is as follows:

The Naturals vs Lance Storm/Justin Credible

In a one night appearance, Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens (The Naturals) join us from NWA:TNA where they had the honor of working with Chris Candido the night before he passed away. On the other side of the ring will be Lance Storm who as we know was Chris tag partner and former co-holder of the HKW Heavy Hitters tag titles and his partner will be Justin Credible who Lance Storm used to team with as The Impact Players in ECW.

Bam Bam Bigelow vs  Abyss vs Vic Grimes

In a 3 Way battle of the big men, Abyss faces Bam Bam Bigelow and Vic Grimes. Bam Bam worked with Chris back in ECW along with Shane Douglas in an interation of The Triple Threat. Vic Grimes worked with Chris in XPW and will be in the building to honor his fallen friend.

AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels
vs
Alex Wright & Muhammad Hassan

Two interesting pairings as Styles teams with Daniels and as we know, these two have NEVER seen eye to eye. On the other side of the ring, we have Alex Wright & Muhammad Hassan. Two former champions - one here in HKW and one over in LIW. Can they work as a cohesive unit and can the same be said for Styles and Daniels?

TOP CONTENDERSHIP ON THE LINE
Juventud Guerrera vs Zach Gowen

Juvy meets Zach Gowen. Both men have a chance to be the 2nd top guy in HKW with a win in this match - guaranteeing them a shot at Randy Orton's HEAD OF THE CLASS title.

D'Lo/Whitmer/Yone vs Palumbo/Ace/Stamboli

D'Lo Brown has joined with BJ Whitmer & Mohammed Yone to do battle against Chuck Palumbo and his fellow Triple Threat stablemates, Johnny Ace & Johnny Stamboli.

Also on the card -

Homicide vs Low-Ki

Matt Stryker vs Elix Skipper

Doring/Roadkill vs Axl Rotten/Balls Mahoney

Lance Hoyt vs Sonny Siaki

VW/Starring vs Punk/Despair

Jack Ripper vs HC Loc/Tony Devito

And sharing with us some stories about their times with Chris will be:

Shane Douglas will talk about being in the Triple Threat with Chris

Tom Pritchard surely will recall the time he spent in The Bodydonnas with Chris

Lance Hoyt will talk about being the last person to ever team with Chris

Tickets are almost sold out so grab them while you can.

;D excitedly purchases tickets for the show

The Naturals vs Lance Storm/Justin Credible
My Prediction: The Impact Players

Bam Bam Bigelow vs  Abyss vs Vic Grimes
My Prediction: Bam Bam Bigelow

AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels
vs
Alex Wright & Muhammad Hassan

My Prediction: Alex Wright and Muhammad Hassan

TOP CONTENDERSHIP ON THE LINE
Juventud Guerrera vs Zach Gowen
My Prediction: Zach Gowen

The rest of the matches seem to be filler but my predictions are
D'lo and Co.
Homicide
Primetime
Doring and Roadkill
Hoyt
Punk/Despair
and Jack Ripper

Overall I enjoy the feel of HKW. I think Randy Orton makes more than a credible champion based on your roster and while I think Gowen is gonna win I would love to see The Juice dethrone Orton. Candido was quite possibly my favorite wrestler of all time because he did whatever the companies he worked for asked him to do. He was the ultimate professional and even took time out to do smaller shows and cater to the fans. The wrestling world is losing one of its true character guys and im glad to see you are holding this type of show. Keep up the good work.

Thank you very much.

To quickly respond, the 6 man tag match is definitely not a filler match when you have D'Lo desperately trying to gain revenge on Palumbo & company for tossing him out of The Triple Threat...I will also say that having Yone on his side may not be the best choice seeing as Yone hasnt had the best string of luck these days.

Homicide vs Low Ki is another non filler match - i'm seeing these 2 go at it this saturday (Ring of Honor event here in NYC) and it's gonna be a barnbuster.

And to see some old school ECW guys in the ring like Axl, Balls, Doring and Roadkill, DEFINITELY not a filler match my friend.

By filler I meant matches that weren't that hyped up. Low-Ki is awesome I saw him live and he really does tear the roof off a building and Homicide is a very solid worker.  I think all the matches are capable of pulling good ratings, but the matches I highlighted seemed to be the most important. I had forgotten that D'Lo was out for revenge and just how deep that feud is.

Gotcha -

well Ripper vs HC Loc & Devito is a rematch of sorts from the last event when Ripper decimated Tony Devito...so now Devito brings in his old friend HC Loc to try and even the odds.
