YunPosted on 04/23/05 at 21:30:05

The demented minds at Blue Nothing Sports are pleased to announce the creation of Pro Wrestling Madness, a world wide professional wrestling organization determined to bring the best that professional wrestling has to offer without the size or age requirements so prevalant in American professional wrestling companies.

Unlike most federations, PWM has not two, but five weight divisions, each with its own title, as well as the PWM World Openweight Title, which anyone may challenge for.

The current roster consists of:

HEAVYWEIGHTS (270lbs and higher)

Brock Lesnar
Rhyno
Andrew Martin (Formerly known as Test)

CRUISERWEIGHTS (240-269)
"The Dragon King" Lee Wang Pyo

"The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels

Franky the Mobster
Matt Hardy "Version 1.0"
Sabu

Horiguchi Genki
El Dragon Rojo*

Insane Dragon

*El Dragon Rojo's manager, Ricky Steamboat, tells us that Rojo is a well known high flyer, but would prefer to keep his previous identity hidden.

PWM are also happy to announce that our first show, The Big Bang, will feature an international, eight man, single elimination tournament to determine the first PWM World Openweight Champion:

-Representing The Republic of Korea, Current World Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Champion, Lee Wang Pyo
-Representing India, Former Extreme Championship Wrestling and National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Champion, Sabu
-Representing Brazil, Former Ultimate Fighting Championship Light Heavyweight Champion, Vitor Belfort
-Representing Italy, current International Wrestling Syndicate World Heavyweight Champion, Franky the Mobster
-Representing Japan, former Dragon Gate Open the Dream Gate Champion, CIMA
-Representing Canada, former International Wrestling Syndicate World Heavyweight Champion, Kevin Steen
-Representing Mexico, Former Mexican National Welterweight Champion, Heavy Metal
-Representing the United States of America, former World Wrestling Entertainment Champion, Brock Lesnar

In addition to this, the weight division titles and Openweight Tag Team Titles will be decided. These matches will be announced in the future.

Due to a lack of competitive divisions, the Heavyweight and Cruiserweight Titles will remain vacant for the time being.

An intriguing concept, to be sure. A little strange to see Tony DeVito classified as a cruiserweight, but I guess you are using some sort of official boxing weight class rules? 3 wrestlers in the cruiser divison is kinda few I think.. almost like the WWE Women's division.. hope you can hire some more.

Yes, the weight classes come from UFC but with the Light-Heavyweight division renamed as Cruiserweight, just because I like that term better. The weights are inflated since the average pro wrestler tends to be bigger than the average shootfighter or boxer (hence why Vitor Belfort is a UFC Light Heavyweight but a PWM Welterweight)

And the 240-269lb range has always been hardest to fill, every time I run this kind of circuit. Most of the indie guys are under 240 and most of the WWE guys are over 270 (It also didn't help that I purposefully avoided WWE talent, and tried to keep TNA talent to a minimum.)

PWM LIVE WIRE for 27 April 2005!

Milano Collection AT announced the formation of a new Italian Connection, consisting of Franky the Mobster, Don Giovanni, and Tony DeVito. He said his attention was focused on CIMA, who he blames for the demise of the original ItaCon. In a shocking followup, Franky announced that he would surrender his spot in the Openweight Title Tournament to Milano so that Milano could get his shot at CIMA right away. Commissioner Christopher Wong decided to reward Franky's selflessness by guaranteeing him a shot at the Middleweight Title. His opponent has not yet been announced. CIMA refused to comment on the accusations, simply calling Milano a "sad, delusional little man."

One match that has been announced, however, is the match between Michael Shane and Teddy Hart for the Welterweight Title. Continuing the family feud started by their respective uncles, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, Shane, upon hearing of Hart's entry into the PWM Welterweight Division, posted a lengthy rant to the PWM website concerning the constant mudslinging on the part of Bret Hart towards Michaels. Teddy responded by challenging Shane to a "duel" in the ring. Wong interjected, saying not only that he thought the match was a good idea, but that he would put the Welterweight Title on the line.
