pinned R. Strong after a moonsault in 0:18:59.
Rating: *** 3/4

And the first ever match in ECCW is a beaut. It isn't often that Petey Williams can outmuscle an opponent, but he was definately stronger than both opponents here tongiht, and Roderick Strong was just a monster in there, throwing around backbreakers left and right on the raving duo of Special K. Still, the teamwork and familiarity of Dixie and Izzy prevailed here while this new team of Williams and Strong looked to have potential. Special K just stayed one step ahead of their opponents the whole match, even during the late brawling session. Petey Williams almost scored a win early on, but due to Izzy, the ref was knocked out and couldn't make the count.

[Cameras cut to backstage where Bryan Danielson is standing by.]

Bryan Danielson: Tonight it is the dawn of ECCW. A new home for pro-wrestling. A new era for the American Dragon. Tonight I face a man I've faced many times before...a two time NWA champion...a man called Phenomenal...a man called one of the best...AJ Styles. No matter how many accolades he has one though, no matter his fame, AJ Styles isn't on my level. I will defeat him tonight. I will punish him tonight. Because just like I've done throughout my entire career, I will make this place my home. And I will rule it.

Rating: ** 1/4

Jimmy Rave tried here but Masada was just too big and powerful for him. Early in the match Rave used his speed and technical ability to wear down Masada but after a couple of near falls off of power bombs the sheer power advantage of the big man came into play and there was seemingly nothing that Rave could do to mount a comeback.

[Cameras cut backstage again to Matt Sydal and Daizee Haze walking around the back. They are approached by Special K and Matt steps in front of Daizee as Angel Dust gets in his face.]

Angel Dust: Relax man. We're not here to take her from you. In fact, we have an offer for you.

Matt Sydal: An offer huh?

Angel Dust: Yeah man, you join us and we'll all be better off.

[Matt Sydal doesn't even think about the offer.]

Rating: ** 1/2

This one was pretty much all Matt Sydal. Angel Dust tried, and had a few flurries of offense but none of them even seemed to really phase Sydal who seemed on a mission to prove that he and Daizee Haze wanted absolutely nothing to do with Special K. After the match though...

[Mellow and Delirious slip in the ring behind Matt Sydal and attack him from behind. He manages to fight them off but Deragned slips in and attacks him as well. Sydal still manages to hold his own when Angel Dust staggers back to his feet and Izzy and Dixie limp out to the ring from the back. Then the numbers game becomes just too much. Daizee covers Matt and Special K backs off a bit while Angel Dust gets a mic.]

Angel Dust: We offered you a spot Matt. We thought your flower child lover there was pretty hip so you must be cool too but you turned us down. Nobody turns us down Matt, we ALWAYS get what we want.

[He seems down talking but Lacey jerks the mic out of his hand and begins talking. Well, screeching.]

Lacey: Wait a minute! Wait a minute! I'm in charge here and I never wanted these two here anyway. The only reason I let Becky stay around is because she makes me feel prettier, but I don't want this floral print bimbo around me...EVER!!!

[Daizee rolls Matt outside the ring and grabs a mic before getting right up in the face of Lacey.]

Daizee Haze: What, you afraid of a little competition...skank!?!?

[Lacey slaps Daizee who then spears Lacey to the mat and begins pounding on her before Special K manages to pull the two women apart.]

Lacey: That's it bitch. I'm killing you tonight.

[She nods to the rest of Special K and they clear out as Lacey and Daizee stare each other down during the entrances of Allison Danger and Tracy Brooks.]

Four Corners Match:
Tracy Brooks defeated Allison Danger, Daizee Haze and Lacey when Tracy pinned
Daizee with the Pie In The Sky in 0:32:20.
Rating: ***

Solid match here between these four ladies. Tracy Brooks and Daizee Haze were definately the stars of the show here, clearly outwrestling both of their opponents. Lacey was particularly vicious when in the ring with Daizee, but her and Allison's collective offense counted for scarcely more than brawling and cat-fighting. In fact, Daizee dominated a large portion of the match, outwrestling all three her opponents until the very end when Tracy Brooks went on a hot streak and managed to pick up a win over Daizee.

[Lacey quickly leaves with Allison Danger not far behind as Tracy celebrates in the ring. Daizee Haze gets to her feet and grabs a mic.]

Daizee Haze: I thought the women's division here in ECCW was going to be a joke after seeing Lacey's name, but you proved me wrong Tracy. I look forward to facing you again.

[The two shakes hands to a mega pop which is interrupted as unfamiliar music begins to play and the lights dim. When they come back up, two Asian men are standing in the ring, face to face with Daizee and Tracy Brooks. The two men are CIMA and Magnum TOKYO!!!. CIMA reaches out and takes the mic out of Lacey's hand.]

CIMA: Look at this. Two pretty ladies in the ring showing respect for one another. Nothing excites me more...except maybe two beautiful ladies showing lust for one another!

[He and Magnum both grin in a slightly disturbing manner.]

CIMA: Now...ladies...Magnum and myself realize that as the two most beautiful men you've ever seen you must be restraining yourselves from just jumping our bones right now. However, that can wait as what we want is to see you two put that passion into something more...mutual with one another.

[He hands the mic to Magnum as the fans seem a bit indecisive on these two. I mean, the concept of Daizee Haze and Tracy Brooks getting it on is pretty tempting.]

Magnum TOKYO: And if you don't...you'll see just why they call us the Lady-Killers!!!

[The two Japanese men each grab the girl in front of them when Matt Sydal!!! rolls back in the ring and spins CIMA around, forcing him to let go of Daizee. The two begin exchanging right hands before Magnum TOKYO cuts Sydal off with a stiff lariat. Or tries to as Sydal ducks out of the way and Magnum nails CIMA!!! Matt Sydal dropkicks Tokyo, spilling him to the floor and then climbs to the top rope, looking for his Shooting Star Press. However, CIMA quickly gets back to his feet and cuts him off, crotching Sydal on the top rope as Magnum slides back in the ring. Daizee Haze starts to go over to them but a quick look from CIMA backs her off. CIMA quickly ascends the turnbuckle to Sydal's left as Magnum TOKYO sets him up for a super-plex. Magnum nails it as CIMA comes off the top with his Mad Splash, a move they call Going Japanese!!! Getting up they move towards the two women again when suddenly a familiar theme plays and the crowd cheers as The Backseat Boyz!!! come out of the entrance way with mics.]

Trent Acid: We were partying in the back with all the beautiful girls of Raleigh...

[CHEAP POP!...especially from the females in attendance.]

Trent Acid: When we heard you two idiots saying you were ladie's men. And then you tried to hurt these two ladies here. You see boys, maybe that's how you do things where you're from, but here in the States, the Backseat Boyz are the ladie's poison of choice, so we're going to have to teach you a very important lesson in humility.

[He drops the mic and he and Kashmere high five each other before running to the ring. They begin to brawl with the Lady Killers while Daizee Haze rolls Matt Sydal out of the ring...again. And the two of them along with Tracy Brooks quickly leave the ringside area. During the brawl Magnum TOKYO seemed to be knocked out cold by a hard forearm shot from Trent Acid and CIMA was forced to fight both Backseats as referee Kevin Rose hit the ring and the bell rang for a match. After only a few moments though...Masada!?!?!? hit the ring and jumped up on the apron in CIMA's corner, reaching out for a tag...which he got!]

when CIMA defeated Acid when Acid passed out in a kneelock submission in
          0:07:30.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Magnum MAGNUM no-showed.)

Masada coming down to CIMA's aid was a surprise but it paid off. Even after an earlier match, he did his part in this one before CIMA was abble to make Trent Acid pass out in a kneelock submission. After the win, CIMA quickly bailed and helped Magnum MAGNUM to the back while Masada rolled out of the ring and yelled at the Backseat Boyz as they were frustrated inside the ring. The real question is why in the world did Masada choose to help one of the Lady Killers?

**INTERMISSION**

[Suddenly the old Hardy Boys music hits and the crowd seems confused until suddenly Matt Hardy storms to the ring in traditional wrestling attire?! He slides in the ring and grabs a mic as the music fades.]

Matt Hardy: What a homecoming, eh?

[BIG POP!]

Matt Hardy: But I hate this town and I hate this fucking state.

[BOOS!!!]

Matt Hardy: Yeah, well you all can just shove it. I don't deserve to be here. I deserve better than this. I was injured, fucking injured and on the shelf. And my girlfriend decided to fool around with some Canadian bum who thinks he's the shit. And to top it off...fucking Vince McMahon FIRED me for complaining about it. Who the hell does he think he is? I'm MATT HARDY. I'm better than anyone in that shit hole I just left and I'm much better than anyone in this shit hole.

[He's cut short as AJ Styles comes to the ring without music and grabs a mic.]

Matt Hardy: What do you want?

AJ Styles: Now, I understand that you're mad Matt. I understand that you're upset about what happened with your girlfriend and getting fired. But you are wrong about one thing.

[Hardy gets up in his face.]

Matt Hardy: And just what is that?

AJ Styles: You aren't the best thing going in this town.

[POP!!!]

AJ Styles: ECCW is home to some great talent Matt. Did you even watch the matches that have already happened? Because I did and I was amazed at the talent here. It is an honor for me to compete here, against some of the best in the world.

Matt Hardy: I'm the best in the world you ignorant bum. You don't even deserve to be in this ring with me.

AJ Styles: Why don't you put that talk on the line tonight? Bryan Danielson and I are schedule for the main event, but if he doesn't mind I'd love to add you to the dance card.

[HUGE POP!]

Matt Hardy: You must have a fucking death wish.

[Hardy attacks Styles and the two brawl. Danielson quickly sprints to the ring and attacks both men...apparently he is fine with a three way dance as well. The three are quickly separated by security however but Hardy shouts out one last comment.]

Matt Hardy: You two better be ready...because tonight marks the launch of Matt Hardy version 2.0.

Wow. ECCW's take on the Scramble match has to be seen to be believed. In this one tongiht, six athletes went all out to try and prove which one of them is truly the best. The star of the night was definately Jimmy Jacobs who had the crowd firmly on his side and managed to elimate Fast Eddie, Mellow, AND Delirious before finally being pinned after a great little series with Jay Lethal that had the crowd on their feet. Surprisingly during the match all three members of Special K fought each other, they were probably too doped up to know any better and we're pretty sure Delirious is as blind as Fast Eddie behind that mask so they probably didn't even know who they were fighting. After the match, Jacobs and Lethal shook hands before leacing the ringside area as the next match has the debut of the Futuristics!!!

This one was back and forth the whole time as neither man could ever really gain a decisive advantage. During the match the crowd got behind Alex Shelley, which seemed to throw him off a little bit. This in turn enabled Daniels to nail the Last Rites and pick up a win. After the match, Daniels grabbed a mic and waited for Shelley to get to his feet.

Christopher Daniels: Well well...they say a lot of good things about Alex Shelley, about how he's "The Next" and all but just one match here in ECCW and I've already put him down. Tell me Alex, what is it that you can't live up the the hype?

[Alex grabs a mic of his own.]

Alex Shelley: Shut the fuck up Daniels. You got lucky tonight. I AM "The Next" Alex Shelley. I outwrestled you tonight and it was obvious to everyone out there.

[POP!]

Alex Shelley: And you fans can just shut the hell up. I don't want or need you ignorant rabble chanting my name. I have talent on loan from GOD!!!

[BOOS!!!]

Christopher Daniels. HA HA HA. Now that's what I like, attitude. Talent on loan from God though boy? You're better than that Shelley. Look at me...I'm the fallen angel and God hasn't done anything about it yet. So why don't you take that talent you have and do what you really want with it. Just think about it Shelley...think about it.

[Daniels winks at Shelley before dropping the mic and rolling out of the ring and heading to the back. Alex Shelley just looks on with a countenance of confusion.]

Triangle Match:
Bryan Danielson defeated AJ Styles and Matt Hardy when B. Danielson pinned
M. Hardy after a dragon suplex in 0:13:59.
Rating: *** 3/4

And a great main event here. The crowd was really anti-Hardy after his running down of the ECCW earlier in the night. However a large portion of the match was AJ Styles facing off against Bryan Danielson like originaly scheduled. In these encounters the crowd was definately behind Styles though Danielson spent most of the time dominating. Hardy tried to use this to his advantage and finish off Styles, but AJ kept managing to survive somehow. Even still, when Danielson pinned Hardy, the crowd cheered for him. Danielson celebrated and left with Hardy and Styles still laying in the ring. Hardy got back to his feet and picked Styles up, grabbing him for a Twist of Fate before staring down Danielson. The American Dragon just shrugged and Hardy hit the move as Danielson looked on apatheticly.

Card rating: *** 1/4

Match of the Night: Scramble Match (Delirious vs. Deranged vs. Mellow vs. Fast Eddie vs. Jay Lethal vs. Jimmy Jacobs)

Watch over the next couple of days for the ECCW newswire. Yeah, it is too good of an idea not to use.

I gather you are using Critic's rulesheet, yes?

So Special K is at it again, huh? Too bad Matt Sydal put Angel Dust in his place. Sydal is much better off with the lovely Daizee.

A Women's wrestling match.. here in the circuits... unbelieveable.. and Traci and Daizee steal the show.. 30 minutes.. wow.. and Sydal nd Backseat Boyz are the Knights in shining armor.. too bad for them that CIMA is waaay over their league.. the girls managed to escape though..

Matt Hardy version 2.0?? And he is pissed off at the world, Vince McMahon and Lita? Why wouldn't he be..

Dunno about the Futuristics.. I mean, the team is great, but the name is kinda weird.. anyway.. a big win for them tonight, they should be a prime prospect for the inevitable tag titles.

Great main event! Hardy was way out of line with his comments and deserved to be pinned. As one who uses the rulesheet myself, I know that the rivalry between these three are far from over.

Good first card, I would've left the anti-Vince and anti-Lita sentiments out... that sounded really like a shoot interview.. but then again, I can understand his frustration.

Kudos for bringing a Women's division to ECCW!

I actually liked the shoot style interview from Hardy.

When did Magnum TOKYO change his name to Magnum MAGNUM? I love how both me and you team them up, but in Dragons Gate they have nothing to do with each other really.

You've got Masada, now you need to bring in Nozawa and Taka Michinoku as they work really well together. Maybe they can feud against Special K.

Actually no.  Just kind of an ROH type fed, hence the scramble match and the main event was just my three "main event" guys. Things will settle out between them soon but I'm totally winging the booking.

So Special K is at it again, huh? Too bad Matt Sydal put Angel Dust in his place. Sydal is much better off with the lovely Daizee.
Yeah, I was quite happy with how well Sydal handled himself. And don't worry, there is a plan for Special K.

I was definately surprised by the Womens' match. It went extremely long and ended up being solid enough for it. Definately pleased with how that one turned out. Poor Sydal is getting punked out by everyone though and the Backseat Boyz will definately be looking for revenge. CIMA is a monster...but he's going to be holding things down in the tag world for a while. Wait for the newsline though to see how things begin to fall out.

Matt Hardy version 2.0?? And he is pissed off at the world, Vince McMahon and Lita? Why wouldn't he be..
Yup, Matt Hardy version 2.0. I kept waiting for the WWE to do that with him, but they let him go so I get to do it. Makes the perfect set up for a bitter bitter bitter heel out to reinvent himself. Maybe he's really just a bit insecure?

Dunno about the Futuristics.. I mean, the team is great, but the name is kinda weird.. anyway.. a big win for them tonight, they should be a prime prospect for the inevitable tag titles.
Yeah, I love the team. The name is something I took from a friend of mine in e-fedding. He and I did a little tag run together and that is the name he came up for it. Something about it appeals to me but I can see how it could be a little hokey.

Great main event! Hardy was way out of line with his comments and deserved to be pinned. As one who uses the rulesheet myself, I know that the rivalry between these three are far from over.
Yeah the main event was a little of a let down for me mainly due to the amazing Scramble match which far surpassed any hopes I had for it. The Newsline will have some big news coming out of the main event though...stay tuned.

Kudos for bringing a Women's division to ECCW!
Thanks. The bug for this whole thing bites me every now and then and hopefully I can keep this one running. I've got some cool long term angles planned out and have a few of the lower card guys I really want to work up to the main event for big pay off angles so hopefully that can keep it running.

Yeah, maybe I pushed it a bit hard with Hardy (hahaha) but it'll tone down as he gets more of a feel of things. I mean he seriously has no history with like anyone else in ECCW so he had to start somehwere.

If you like that women's match, stay tuned as more are on the way. I completely cleared out my wrestler list and then installed a bunch of indy fed export packs and ended up picking up a lot of female wrestlers and decided to use them here. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks. Promos for me tend to either be soemthing I think is super cool, or super crappy. I wasn't really proud of the ones on this card, especially the Danielson so it's nice that you liked one of them at least.

Yeah, yeah, The name thing was entirely my fault. For some reason when I was writing the promo, which I wrote as part of the match comment for the Women's match, I thought his name was Tokyo MAGNUM, so afterwards I ported the whole card into Word to finish it up and did some universal replaces to fix his name and messed some stuff up with it. But yeah, I think it should be a killer team. I wanted some definite puro presence, couldn't find any good heel teams really besides the Pitbulls, and didn't want any puro heavyweights since Hardy is like the biggest guy in my fed. And all the other puro lightweights I was even halfway familiar with just didn't feel right.

Maybe in the future. Masada is just kind of my heel monster right now. Which is funny because he only weighs like 205.
Shaun SindelmanPosted on 04/19/05 at 01:13:28

So a new promotion is on the rise from the streets of North Caka-laka =)

Special K vs Petey Williams and Roderick Strong

Not too familair with Special K (ROH is FINALLY coming to NYC tho so maybe ill be able to check them out in person finally). I do like how Petey and Roderick work in other circuits so i'll root for them.

Darn, what a letdown that Speciak K got the win. Did you mean to use the term `raving duo' when referring to a team such as Special K? =)

Good promo by Danielson...should be an interesting contest between he and AJ.

Masada vs Jimmy Rave

Rave certainly gave it his all but like others have already said, Masada sounds like a beast.

Angel Dust vs. Matt Sydal

Nice lead in to this impromptu match.
Good win for Sydal while Special K takes a suffering in the process. This loss certainly balances out against the win they received earlier in the night. Good comeback tho for the drug addict stable.

Also good segue into the women's match.
With Allison in ECCW, do you plan to bring her big bro, Steve Corino in as well?

Not too familair with the Japanese men but they seem to be pretty tough cookies confronting women and all.

Now, I saw Trent Acid friday night at an indy show in Queens, NY and he was hanging with Mike Tobin & Billy Reil aka KnightLife: Final Cut (not sure if you possess either of their exports but its a thought of people to hang with Acid & Kashmere).

CIMA and Masada vs The Backseat Boyz

Interesting premise for getting Masada in instead of Magnum

Back from intermission and we get to hear Matt Hardy shoot bigtime on the boys up north in CT and Toronto.

Not sure who else is on the roster but good choice having `Role Model' AJ Styles cut off Hardy's whining. I think Hardy is still in the beta stage of ver 2.0 but whatever =)

Nice Scramble match - maybe next time you can introduce the guys at timed intervals to make it interesting. I definitely felt that Jacobs and Lethal were top notch in the match and it showed with the results.

The Futuristics vs The Havana Pitbulls

The Pitbulls are gonna tear the Futuristics apart and send em back into the past. =)

Wow - another prediction WRONG!

Christopher Daniels vs Alex Shelley

This looks to be a good matchup on paper. Gonna go with Daniels.

FINALLY i'm right for once. =)

Hmm - possible teaming between Shelley & Daniels in the months to come...have to wait and see.

MAIN EVENT
Matt Hardy vs Bryan Danielson vs AJ Styles

This is indeed a top notch main event...gonna go with Styles for the win.

Wonder what will become of Danielson & Matt Hardy after tonight.

ECCW Newsline 4.27.05

The ECCW booking committee would like to announce that the next ECCW show will be be run on May 14 in Virginia Beach, VA. The fallout from our debut "Call to Arms" show has been the talk of the wrestling world the past few days and things leading into the next show will only heat that up over the next few weeks.

To start things off, the ECCW booking committee was a big disappointed in two of the tag teams they signed. Both The Havana Pitbulls and the team of Roderick Strong and Petey Williams met defeat at the debut show. However, both teams are being given a chance to redeem themselves as they will face one another at the 05.14 show.

Following their less than stellar performance in the Scramble match, Special K spokes person Lacey has announced that Delirious, Deranged, and Mellow would like a shot at Jay Lethal, Jimmy Jacobs, and Fast Eddie one more time. This time however, the ravers won't have to worry about fighting one another as it will be a six man tag affair.

Speaking of Lacey, she's issued a challenge to Daizee Haze and Tracy Brooks to meet her and new ECCW signee and partner Rain in a women's tag team match. It took a few days for the two sides to work it out but Haze and Brooks have agreed to the match which should be another exciting installment in the ECCW women's divison. Speaking of the women's division, ECCW would like to welcome new signee's to the fold, the aforementioned Rain and Simply Lucious.

In other news Christopher Daniels has managed to pull some favors with the booking committee and get Alex Shelley a match against Jimmy Rave at the May 14 show.  No word has been heard yet as to how Shelley feels about Daniels booking his matches, but don't expect him to be too happy about it after the harsh and somewhat confusing words the two had at Call to Arms.

Matt Sydal and the Backseat Boyz both approaced the booking committee separately asking for some chance at payback at the so called Lady Killers. Taking these requests in mind, the committee has ordered a second six man tag match for the upcoming show as Sydal and the Backseat Boyz will face the Lady Killers AND Masada. All six men seemed pleased by this announcement though the relationship between Masada and the Japanese wrestlers still remains unclear.

Due to the two big time six man tag matches on the show the booking committee has dubbed the show "War of the Triads." In fact, they are turning the whole little deal into a tournament as the two winners will face each other in a six man tag match with the winning team receiving some sort of prize to be announced at a later date.

Finally, Matt Hardy went to the ECCW booking committee and threatened them with bodily harm if they didn't put him in the ring with Bryan Danielson again. However, AJ Styles had made an earlier request to face Hardy again, so the committee decided to book a tag team match for War of the Triads. AJ Styles and Bryan Danielson will TEAM TOGETHER to face Matt Hardy and a partner of his choosing. However, with his harsh words towards the entire ECCW locker room, one has to wonder if anyone will be willing to team with him.

ECCW presents "War of the Triads"

Rain and Lacey vs Daizee Haze and Tracy Brooks
Alex Shelley vs Jimmy Rave
CIMA/Magnum TOKYO/Masada vs The Backseat Boyz/Matt Sydal

The winners of the two six man tags will then face each other with the winning team receiving some sort of prize.
The Havana Pitbulls vs Roderick Strong and Petey Williams
Matt Hardy and ??? vs AJ Styles and Bryan Danielson

Shaun SindelmanPosted on 04/20/05 at 17:29:20

I hope that ECCW is in Virginia Beach many time after this upcoming card since i'll be vacationing there in July. =)

My predictions are as follows:

* Havana Pitbills over Strong/Williams

* Lethal and Jacobs and Fast Eddie over the cracked out ravers in Special K

* Tracy and Daizee over Lacey and Rain. Glad to see a developing women's division - all it needs now is April Hunter.

* Hmm, Shelley & Rave...Shelley with the win but ya gotta wonder whats the deal between him and `The Fallen Angel'

* The Japanese Triad of Masada & LK to defeat Sydal and the boy band rejects in BB

* In the second round of the War of the Triads, i'm going with the team of Jacobs, Lethal and Fast Eddie

* I gotta think its Jeff Hardy also who teams with Matt and they get the win over Styles & American Dragon (Bryan Danielson)
