IWA:NE - Victorious Valentine - 02.14.06

rey619Posted on 04/14/05 at 09:15:07

Hallo everyone, the date is February 14th, and we are still in the IWA:NE capital of the world, Reading Pennsylvania. Not surprisingly, many couples (and of course single men), have found their way to tonight's IWA show. We'll go straight to the ring, where President DeMei has some announcments to make.

De Mei is standing in the ring, sorrounded by a dozen wrestlers. "As advertised, the Briscoes and the SAT's have challenged Generation Next to a huge 12-man tag team fight. Here they are.. Team Briscoe, featuring Jay Briscoe, Mark Briscoe, Joel Maximo, Jose Maxio, Air Paris and Jerelle Clark. They will be facing Team Generation Next, featuring Jack Evans, Jason Cross, Sabian, B-Boy, Adam Flash and LA Park! This is tonight's main event, and the winner, the one making the pin, will have a very special Valentines Date with this, lovely young woman."

The camera finds someone in the front row. It's none other than Mary Kate Olsen! Or maybe Ashley.. who knows? The crowd cheer anyway, and the wrestlers in the ring yell out cat calls.

"The other major announcement is that the winner of tonight's triple threat, whether it be BCP's Williams, Low Ki, or Mikey Batts, will receive an immediate title match! With that said, let's go to the matches!"

Match 1 - Chris Harris vs B-Boy

the Wildcat fought this on pure routine, as B-Boy couldn't stop his momentum,
whatever he tried. A spear sent him down for the 3-count in a short match
that won't be remembered as one of the great matches of tonight.

Chris Harris pinned B-Boy after a spear in 0:07:23.
Rating: **

Match 2 - Teddy Hart vs "Empire Saint" Pat Kenney

Teddy Hart brought on some heavy claims last month, demanding to be known
as the greatest Canadian wrestler ever, even going as far as to throw dirt
on his uncles' wrestling career. The crowd hadn't forgotten, and booed Hart
heavily as he tried to overcome 'The Empire Saint' Pat Kenney.

Hart went for his high-risk moves too early, allowing Kenney to move out of
the way and hit Hart with the Ace Crusher on his way down. Kenney obviously
had Hart scouted, as he was able to dodge all Hart's high-flying moves, forcing
the Canadian to take another route to a possible victory. Kenney brought
on the brawling, smacking the young Hart around the ring. Teddy was able to
turn the momentum after a drop toe hold, following it up with a brain buster
before he climbed the ropes for the Hart Attack. Kenney surely wanted to
move out, but he just couldn't. A nice win for Hart.

Teddy Hart pinned Pat Kenney with the Hart Attack in 0:11:30.

Backstage
Teddy Hart is walking backstage after his victory, when he is approached by Scott D'Amore. "That was a very impressive win, Teddy, the Empire Saint couldn't contain you at all. Say, would you be interested in joining the Border City Patrol? We could always use a soon-to-be legend?"

Before Hart can respond, Doug Williams walks over angrily and grabs D'Amore.

Doug: "What is this? Petey is competing in the triple threat match? Have you that easily forgotten who DDT'ed Low Ki 10 days ago, securing our victory?"

D'Amore: "Relax Doug, relax. Jeez.. You know why I hired you to the BCP, for crying out loud. You are here to provide muscle. To help Kevin and Petey win their matches. I don't mind you winning your own matches as well, but make no mistake, Petey is our choice for Heavyweight Champion."

Doug: "You are making a huge mistake D'Amore. A huge mistake, mark my words!"

Match 3 - Elix Skipper vs Kevin Steen

The BCP vs Triple X war continues, as the lowest ranked members of both
stables tangle it up tonight.

Skipper in control in the opening minutes, as he throws Steen around the
ringside area, back suplexing him into the ring steps. Low Ki *and* the
Fallen Angel both present, watching BCPs every move. Low Ki even aided
Skipper a little, hoisting Steen high up in the air and dropping him on
the guardrail. Skipper continues to mount the pressure in the ring, culminating
in the Sudden Death. Petey Williams conveniently puts Steen's foot on the
rope, and is all of a sudden attacked by Daniels. D'Amore is frustrated,
and desperately tries to get a hold of Doug Williams on his cellphone.
Steen slowly gets to his feet, and is summarily sent back down with a
clothesline. Skipper puts him on his shoulders again and nails him with
the Play of the Day. the BCP are strongarmed by Triple X, who for once
managed to cooperate.

Elix Skipper pinned Kevin Steen with the Sudden Death in 0:10:14.
Rating: ****

Match 4 - Buck Quartermain/D-Ray 3000 vs Havana Pitbulls

Generation Next need new challengers, can one of these teams step up to the
challenge?

Buck used his power and size to boss the ring, while D-Ray used his innocent
looks and unorthodox style to catch the Pitbulls unaware. The Pitbulls knew
that a loss here would cement them at the bottom of the tag-team ranks, and
just as with the Carnage Crew, that could mean the end for them. So they
started working on D-Ray with submission moves, tagging each other rapidly
and putting him in a new hold, targetting his left knee. After getting out
of a Romero Special, D-Ray tags in Buck, who quickly clears the ring with
his big punches. All four men are in the ring now, fighting in a big brawl.
Ref Mandelbaum has no idea who's legal, and when Reyes sends D-Ray down with
the Brain Buster, he counts the pin.

The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero) defeated
Buck Quartermain and D-Ray 3000 when R. Reyes pinned D-Ray with the
Avalanche Brain Buster in 0:13:34.

Match 5 - AJ Styles vs Doug Williams

Doug Williams was absolutely not happy to be told that he would forever
play second fiddle to Petey Williams, but would still perform his best
against 'Poster boy' AJ Styles. Still, the stinging words from BCP boss
Scott D'Amore must have hurt, as Styles ran rampant in the early goings,
scoring a quick 2 count after an impressive German suplex on the big Briton.
Williams regained his senses, countering a brain buster into a Northern Lights
for a near fall. This was about all he could get in on Styles, who was in
a wild mood, nailing the Anarchist with DDTs and spiral taps, before sending
him crashing down to the canvas with a lariat.

AJ Styles pinned Doug Williams after a lariat in 0:09:24.
Rating: ****

After the match, Williams goes wild on the outside, smashing chairs into
the ringpost. BCP comes out, trying to calm him down, but Williams won't
listen.

D'Amore: 'Losing for Styles is nothing to be ashamed over. After all, he is
smaller than you, weaker than you, and he IS American'.

Steen, Petey and Elza are laughing at this point.

D'Amore: 'What I'm saying is, maybe it's best you took some time off from your in-
ring appearances. Maybe it is best for you to stay outside during Petey's
matches, helping him win. What do you say?'

Doug Williams answered in the only way a true Anarchist can do, by clocking
D'Amore in the middle of the mouth. As Doug went for Petey, Kevin Steen
got in his way, sacrificing himself so that Petey could escape and still
be able to fight in the triple threat match later on. the Anarchist laid
waste to Steen, as Teddy Hart enters the ringside area, kicking Williams
in the crotch. Steen, Hart and D'Amore gang up on Doug Williams, until
Nigel McGuinness and John Walters make the save.

It seems that the Border City Patrol have made a change in their roster. Doug
Williams out, Teddy Hart in.

Match 6 - Nigel McGuinness & John Walters vs the Messiah & Homicide

Maybe tag-team wrestling will bring Homicide some gold? Maybe tagging
with his old nemesis will give the Messiah the win he desperately needs?
Can NIgel McGuinness continue his good teamwork with John Walters, or will
this tag-team crumble as well, just as McGuinness & Benoit?

A lot of questions needed to be answered in the ring tonight. the Messiah
obviously needed an extra edge, bringing with him a baseball bat, hitting
both Walters and Nigel several times before the ref was able to wrest it
away from him. the Messiah then brought a table into the ring, draping Nigel
across it and pinning him down as to let Homicide connect with a legdrop,
both men crashing through the table. After 5 minutes, Walters and McGuinness
were able to catch their breath, working together on submission moves, always
taking care not to extend the 5 second limit on double teaming. The match
evens out now with a prolonged battle between Homicide and McGuinnes in the
ring. Unfortunately for Nigel, Homicide hits him back twice for every move
the Londoner hits him with. Walters and the Messiah had rested for over 10
minutes by the time Homicide hit the Cop Killa. Walters could therefore
easily make the save, as he was fresh and ready to go. the Messiah decides
to end this match, bringing the ring bell into the ring and smashing it over
McGuinness' head. He then puts Nigel in a sleeperhold, twisting his head
this way and that, eventually making Nigel submit, 12 seconds before the
25 minute time limit.

Homicide and The Messiah defeated John Walters and Nigel McGuinness when Messiah
made N. McGuinness submit to a sleeperhold in 0:24:48.

Interview:

Cindy Strappen is backstage with Team Briscoes.

Cindy: "So, here we have 6 well-trained wrestlers, going up in a unique 12-man tag team match. Any thoughts, Jose?"

Joel: "I am Joel, actually."

Cindy:"I wasn't talking to you," trying to move the mic over to the other SAT member.

Jose: "Then why was your microphone pointed at Joel?"

Cindy: "This isn't a microphone.. it is.. oh damnit!"

Fortunately for Cindy, Team Generation Next comes to the rescue as they try to fit most of their team in front of the cameras.

Jack Evans: "Don't fret Cindy / Jack's here / maybe later / you wanna grab a beer? / Or maybe you have a date, with one of these two misters (pointing at the Maximos) / you know, their last dates was with their sisters /

At this point, all becomes a scrambled mess as the SAT furiously attacks Generation Next, unfortunately clipping the cameraman in the process.

Match 7 - Petey Williams vs Low Ki vs Mikey Batts

One of tonight's two main events was a huge triple threat match. While DeMei
never said the words Top Contendership, the winner would surely get a
title shot along the line. The leaders of the two warring factions finally
faced each other, with the promising Mikey Batts as the wildcard factor.

Batts didn't fear anyone, taking down both men as quick as he could. Nobody
worked together in this match, but since Petey and Low Ki always attacked
each other, Batts could easily take advantage of that. Resting outside of
the ring was not a good idea, as Kevin Steen took advantage of that, hitting
Batts in the stomach with a bat. Low Ki started to dominate now, and both
Batts and Steen had to muster all their strength to keep Ki from winning.
A Ki Krusher was broken by Batts, and D'Amore had to pull the ref out of
the ring after a excruciating power bomb. This caused Low Ki to run after
D'Amore, allowing Batts to go for the Batts Beater. Williams kicked out.
A Stunner and a 450 splash later and Mikey Batts was the winner!

Triple Threat Match:
Mikey Batts defeated Low Ki and Petey Williams when M. Batts pinned P. Williams
after a 450 splash in 0:15:18.
Mikey Batts suffered a back injury. He will be out for approximately 1 card.
Rating: **** 1/4

Low Ki obviously didn't care, as he was busy fighting D'Amore and Steen
in the back, even running after their runaway car with Teddy Hart as the
wheelman.

Back in the ring, Batts is celebrating as well as clutching his back as President DeMei walks down to the
ring.

"That was indeed impressive Mikey, you never cease to amaze me." Mikey tries to get up, but his back keeps failing him. "The question is, did that 450 splash injure you more than it injured Petey Williams?" He gives Mikey the microphone.

Mikey: "I think so, yeah." A collective groan goes through the crowd as they would have loved to see Mikey Batts go one on one with Christopher Daniels.

DeMei: "Well, if you can't stand up, you can't fight." DeMei motions to the back, and EMT's run in, carefully removing Batts from the ring. As they do, IWA Heavyweight Champion Christopher Daniels comes out and checks up on Batts, shaking his hand and wishing him a speedy recovery. As he does so, Petey Williams (who hasn't left the ring yet), takes the microphone.

Petey: "Hey, DeMei, Daniels. I'm still here. I can take that title shot, please."

DeMei and Daniels walk into the ring.

DeMei: "Listen Petey, losing doesn't give you anything here in IWA:NE."

Daniels: "President, my fellow wrestler and sometime enemy. I am, I think, the only IWA wrestler not in a fight tonight. As a fighting champion, I cannot have that."

Daniels then kicks Petey in the guts and hits him with the Last Rites. DeMei counts 1, 2 and 3, in something I am not sure was a match. It brought a huge pop from the crowd at least.

Match 8 - Balls Mahoney vs Samoa Joe

This ought to be a big one... literally speaking, as Joe and Balls are the
biggest men in IWA.

Joe showed his strength on several occasions, suplexing the 300+ pounder
Mahoney around the ring. The former ECW mainstay tried the same, and
while Joe weighs less, he can soak up everything you hit him with and hit you
back tenfold. Balls even picked up a keyboard, actually breaking it on Samoa's
skull. Joe tried the Island Driver, but was unable to get Balls in the right
position due to his weight. Balls continued his punishment of Joe, breaking
a road sign on his already fractured skull. Balls then tried an elbowdrop,
but the quicker-than-he-looks Joe rolled away, nailed Balls with a splash
and got the win in this big slugfest.

Samoa Joe pinned Balls Mahoney after a splash in 0:15:10.
Rating: ***

Samoa Joe took a microphone.

Samoa:"Look at me. This guy nailed me on the head with a keyboard and a road
sign. My head won, both times. Now, when I was IWA champ, I always fought smaller
and weaker guys. I actually had to fight Chris Candido, twice. The crowd hated
that, and they didn't care much for me. I can understand that. Tonight, however,
is the first time I've heard a lot of chants for my name. Tonight is the first
night that I've felt electricity in an IWA arena. So that is why I am challenging
President DeMei. I am challenging DeMei to find me fresh opponents every
show. Opponents who are bigger than me. I don't care how much he weighs,
if he is 1 pound heavier than me, or if he's fricking Big Show. Just bring
them on!"

Match 8 - Team Generation Next vs Team Briscoes

Big 12 man tag match here tonight. Roderick Strong didn't show up at the
arena, forcing Generation Next to make some last minutes preparations to
find a replacement. Anyway, the Briscoes and the SAT teamed up with Air
Paris and Jerelle Clark, to strengthen their high-flying capabilities.
Generation Next choose a mix, B-Boy's and Sabian's hardcore experience,
LA Park's lucha background and Adam Flash's strength.

LA Park elicited a great cheer from the crowd when he entered the ring, even
though he was on the bad guy's team. Park and Clark hit it off quite good,
with some nice chain wrestling and high-flying spots. Jack Evans was in
a good mood as well, dishing out a standing SSP on Air Paris.
A 12-man tag isn't something you see every day, and with the amount of wrestlers
on each team, getting a win isn't easy, as you must avoid someone from
the other team breaking up your count. It also means that you have 12 wrestlers
that can overlap each other, so this match shouldn't be slow, and it wasn't!

A Francine interference made the ring explode, as Team Briscoe went nuts on
the outside. This is a sound strategy in these matches, and can take attention
away from the ring. This is just what happened now, allowing Joel Maximo
to hit B-Boy with the Maximo Explosion, giving B-Boy the pleasure of being
pinned twice tonight, just like Petey Williams! The 12 men were still brawling as the show ended, but Joel would surely try to break free to go on his date with Mary Kate...or Ashley..

The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe), The Spanish Announce Team (
Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo), Air Paris and Jerelle Clark defeated Generation Ne
xt (Jack Evans and Jason Cross), B-Boy, L.A. Park, Sabian and Adam Flash when
Joel pinned B-Boy with the Maximo Explosion in 0:24:00.

Haha.. win a date with an Olsen... good times. I can just see her sitting in the front row throughout the entire show not paying a BIT of attention to any of it.

Wins for The Wildcat and Teddy Hart to start the show off. Glad to see Harris get the win especially after losing that 4-way a couple weeks ago.

Doug Williams is mad and rightfully so. D'Amore basically told him he's being used... how much longer can Doug put up with that?

Skipper wins a hell of a match Triple X gets a win over BCP. D'Amore trying to get ahold of Doug was a nice touch... obviously, he didn't get ahold of him. Where was Doug? He should have been out there helping his team.

The Havana Pitbulls get the win back that they need after losing to Nigel and Walters. They could rise up to top contendorship for Gen Next titles.

Doug losing to Styles in a hell of a match.  BCP, I feel, has made a big mistake losing Doug and picking up Teddy Hart. Plus, Nigel and Walters are on Doug's side... this could be a lot of trouble for BCP.

The team of Messiah and Homicide would be trouble for any team! Glad to see Messiah not a replacement this show and even more so, scoring the win in the match.

Wild interview and an even wilder brawl.

Batts wins! Wow! But he's injured and can't go on... at least he's earned a title shot that can't be overlooked. Poor Petey tries to fight, but he's so beaten up the Daniels easily wins.

Samoa Joe win a battle of beasts and sends out a message to all the other big men in this business. Samoa Joe isn't playing around.

B-Boy loses a second time tonight, but more importantly, Joel wins a date with an Olsen!!!!!!

IWA:NE is coming to Emmaus, Pennsylvania on March 12th for their 15th show.

Even though the double shows in February were a success, the added costs has taken its toll on the company. IWA:NE has therefore decided not to book Chris Harris to any more cards. Harris was rumored to be the best paid wrestler in IWA, so this comes as no surprise. What does come as a surprise is that Christopher Daniels (the second best paid wrestler), is not on this card! Hopefully, this penny-pinching maneouver will not have lasting effect.

Roderick Strong has been fired, effetive immediately. All wrestlers that wanted it could bring their girlfriends to the show, or if they persisted, could get the night off. Strong was the only one taking advantage of this offer, but it has come out that Strong is single, and went with a friend to a strip joint. So bye bye Strong..

Top contenders matches for both titles will be held at this show. Low Ki is the Top Contender for the Heavyweight Title, but he will have to defend that in a 4 corner match featuring Messiah, Mark Briscoe and on other wrestler. the Messiah must wrestle at least twice, as he and Homicide will take part in the 4 corner tag team top contenders match. The Havana Pitbulls, Walters&McGuinness and Elix Skipper & Jerelle Clark are the other teams.

Last month, Samoa Joe sent out a challenge to all wrestlers bigger and heavier than him. For this show, none other than the resident TNA monster Abyss will be coming for a one-shot appearance!

The card so far:

Low Ki vs Mark Briscoe vs the Messiah vs TBA for the top contendership

The Havana Pitbulls vs John Walters / Nigel McGuinness vs the Messiah / Homicide vs Elix Skipper / Jerelle Clark for the top contendership

Abyss vs Samoa Joe

LA Park vs Pat Kenney

Generation Next vs the winners of the top contenders match

Also: BCP will clear the situation regarding Doug Williams!
