Comments:

In the very first pay per view a new World Champion was crowned.  Hulk Hogan regained his title from the Macho Man in an excellent main event.  The new champ will not be able to rest on his laurels however, as Savage has already invoked the rematch clause and will be out for revenge very soon.  Also in the title frame after impressive victories are the Million Dollar Man and Bad News Brown.

The Ultimate Warrior had a somewhat tainted victory over The Ravishing One after interference from Rude's manager Bobby Heenan.  Rude was not a happy man I can tell you.

Elsewhere, Demolition saw off the awesome Powers of Pain in a match that will only ignite their feud rather than end it.

Match of the night however, may well go to the battle between The British Bulldogs and BrainBusters.  added to the card only after Strike Force separated, this was a classic encounter of two legendary tag teams.  No doubt Heenan's men will be out for another shot at the Bulldogs.  In the first battle between the former Strike Force partners, Rick Martel came out on top of Tito Santana.

There were also upset victories for Koko B.Ware and The Rockers over seemingly far superior opponents.  Bobby Heenan had another loss for his stable when Andre The Giant was defeated by The Snake.

It was also a bad night for Jimmy Hart as he saw his replacements for The Hart Foundation, The Fabulous Rougeaus, defeated by the unorthodox Bushwhackers.  He also had to endure his former proteges defeating his team of Honky and The Hammer.

The only consolation for Heenan and Hart were victories by Haku (over Hercules), and Dino Bravo (over Ronnie Garvin), respectively.

The next card is a Saturday Nights Main Event and matches will be announced very soon...

Comments:

The Hulkster retained his title after outside interference from the Macho Man's manager, Sensational Sherri.

Mr Perfect gained some measure of revenge for his Wrestlemania defeat against the "Birdman" and also, along with the Honky Tonk Man, qualified for the King of the Ring tournament in June.  The prize for the winner of that tournament is a shot at the World Title at SummerSlam.

A fabulous tag match between two "face" teams was ruined by outside interference.  The decision went to The Rockers as the referee saw Akeem attack Marty Jannetty but it could have easily been a double DQ as The Fabulous Rougeaus also attacked The Hart Foundation.

Earlier, there were impressive debut performances from the returning Rowdy Roddy Piper and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka.

The main event for King of the Ring has already been announced.  Hulk Hogan will defend his title against the number 1 contender - The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase!!
91Posted on 12/12/04 at 15:17:58

I'm guessing it's not booked, oui? Also, do you intend to hire and fire people as they joined the WWF in real life (IE Dusty Rhodes joins in a few months, Brain Busters leave at the end of the year etc)? Finally, even for the start of the circuit, a lot of those ratings were unfairly low, I'd think about bumping them up a bit (for example, Honky Tonk and Beefcake aren't the greatest workers ever, but negative two seems a bit harsh). Still, keep them coming, this sort of stuff always interests me.
ianclarkPosted on 12/12/04 at 16:56:41

Thanks for the interest.

You're right, there is no booking of matches.  I am planning on bringing in new faces as per the real timeline (i.e. Dusty Rhodes), but also use some artistic licence to make things different from what really happened, or there is no point in doing it at all.

Also, if someone leaves unexpectedly, I will abide by that rather than keep them for years just because they stayed in the WWF for a long time (e.g. Bret Hart / Shawn Michaels).

Plus, there may be a lot more face/face and heel/heel matches than the real WWF, especially for titles so that genuine contenders (based on results) are getting title shots rather than just a different heel facing Hogan at a Saturday Nights Main Event, whether they deserve the shot or not.

Finally, the face/heel turns may surprise people but the joy of all this is setting up your own story lines as the mood takes you, as long as it follows the pattern of the circuit.

That's all for now, thanks again for your interest and I will soon be posting the next Saturday Nights Main Event card.

Comments:

In the main event nothing was settled thanks to the interference of Bobby Heenan.  However, due to their ongoing rivalry The Ultimate Warrior will defend the InterContinental Title at the King of the Ring against Ravishing Rick Rude.  Should Rude lose, it may be some time before he gets another title shot.

The Powers of Pain will also have to wait their turn after they were once again defeated by Demolition for the tag team straps.  With such a strong tag team division there are plenty of other worthy contenders waiting their chance.

Jake Roberts and Bad News Brown advanced in the KotR tourney, although the methods of Bad News were dubious to say the least.  Out of the tournament however, are Andre and Hacksaw, after they fought to a double counout and the decision has been controversially taken to eliminate both from the tournament, thus ending Bobby Heenan's interest in just one night.  Strangely, Heenan didn't seem too concerned.  We shall have to wait and see what he has up his sleeve...

The line up for the King of the Ring tournament is now complete and the brackets look like this:

Roddy Piper v Honky Tonk Man
Tito Santana v Randy Savage
Jake Roberts v Bad News Brown
Ronnie Garvin v Mr Perfect

Other matches scheduled for the pay per view are:

WWF World Heavyweight Title

Hulk Hogan v Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase

WWF InterContinental Title

The Ultimate Warrior v Ravishing Rick Rude

WWF World Tag Team Titles

Demolition v Twin Towers

plus:

British Bulldogs v BrainBusters

In some other, sadder news I have to report a couple of long term injuries to The Bushwhackers.  To "celebrate" their title shot at KotR, Akeem and Big Boss Man completely destroyed Butch and Luke, and both men had to be taken from ringside on stretchers and taken straight to hospital.  It has now become known that neither man will wrestle for at least 6 months.  They will be sorely missed.

Comments:

In what many might consider a major upset, the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase defeated the Hulkster to win the WWF Heavyweight Title.  DiBiase put in an excellent performance but already the challengers are lining up.  Hulk Hogan will be looking for a rematch, Jake Roberts won the King of the Ring tournament and will get a title shot at Summerslam and I-C champ Ultimate Warrior will also feel he deserves a chance at the big prize after a record breaking defence against Rick Rude.

Also, Demolition managed to successfully defend the Tag Titles again, this time against the massive combination of Akeem and the Big Boss Man, the Twin Towers.

In other news, the WWF have added another pay per view event to the packed summer schedule.  In July, Wrestlefest will take place with a full card of at least 10 matches.
JoshEnglemanPosted on 12/19/04 at 22:26:55

I was kind of curious as to where you got all of the old guys exports. I haven't really seen them anywhere.
ianclarkPosted on 12/19/04 at 23:32:24

I got most of them from the TNM website itself and the odd ones it didn't have, I got from links off of that website.

I'm sorry but I can't remember exactly which sites but some took some finding.

Comments:

Although there were no title changes, it was a very eventful night in the WWF.

No sooner had Haku defeated the disappointing Dusty Rhodes than he announced he was quitting the WWF and will leave immediately.  This did not stop Bobby Heenan's big announcement however.  He has shocked the world by adding the very talented Mr Perfect to his family.  To say Rick Rude did not look happy would be a huge understatement.  Rude's mood was further darkened when the new family member got him a DQ loss against Roddy Piper.

The only title on the line tonight was the World Title and it was retained  by Ted DiBiase after an excellent hard fought encounter.  "The Snake" will certainly be looking for a rematch.

The Powers of Pain have reclaimed their slot as No.1 contenders to Demolition's tag straps after overcoming 3 other superb teams in an exhausting encounter.  Meanwhile, the feud between The Rougeaus and The Rockers is no nearer its conclusion after The Rougeaus won a stunning match.

There were also good wins for Rick Rude, Mr Perfect, Ronnie Garvin, Dusty Rhodes and Rick Martel.

The match for the I-C title quickly descended into chaos and nothing was settled, so the Warrior retained the title.  There is no doubt though, that the Giant is on the warpath, ably supported by the Heenan Family.

Talking of Heenan, he once again added to his family, with debutant Barry Windham becoming the latest member.

Windham and Ricky Steamboat both enjoyed successful debuts, and the other two matches on the card were both thrillers!!

See you next month!

Comments:

Demolition once again seem unbeatable as they defeated the No.1 contenders, The Powers of Pain convincingly once again.

Earlier in the night there was a major upset as the "African Dream" Akeem defeated the legendary Hulk Hogan.  All is that as it seems though as "Ravishing" Rick Rude had a major hand in the outcome and only managed to intensify his rivalry with the Hulkster!

The full card for the 1989 Survivor Series has been announced as well:

Dusty Rhodes, Ronnie Garvin and The Rockers v Randy Savage, Bad News Brown and The Rougeaus.

Roddy Piper, Tito Santana and The Hart Foundation v Mr Perfect, Barry Windham and BrainBusters.

Ultimate Warrior, Jimmy Snuka and The British Bulldogs v Andre The Giant, Dino Bravo, Greg Valentine and The Honky Tonk Man.

Comments:

What a fantastic night of action in the WWF.  Not 1 "Face" Team Captain managed to survive their matches.  Indeed, the 2 matches won by the "Face" team produced some very surprising survivors, proving just how exciting the WWF can be when it is so random.

Talking of random, Nikolai Volkoff has decided to quit the WWF, effective immediately!

The next SuperCard is Royal Rumble 1990 which will feature 3 title matches as well as the legendary 30 man over the top rope Battle Royal match called The Royal Rumble!

See you for the next Saturday Nights Main Event (card to be announced shortly).

(Note to psymin - 2 out of 5 this time.  Did you guess the correct "survivors" though?)

Roddy Piper has won the right to challenge Ted DiBiase for the WWF World Title at The Royal Rumble after a gruelling match against Rick Rude, which neither guy deserved to lose.

Also earning a title shot, were The Hart Foundation, who defeated 6 other teams to gain a shot at Demolition.

Comments:

Mr Perfect won a classic Royal Rumble match to earn a shot at the WWF Title at Wrestlemania VI. His last opponent was the surprise entry, who turned out to be none other than "Double J" Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett, managed by Jimmy Hart put in a fantastic show on his debut but was just denied by the Perfect One. One man who was not happy was WWF Champion Ted DiBiase. Having already retained his title in a gruelling match with Roddy Piper, DiBiase was seen in a heated discussion with Perfect's manager, Bobby Heenan.

Earlier in the night, The Ultimate Warrior ended Andre the Giant's WWF career. The Giant had his longest match in years but in the end an error of judgement by Andre's manager, Bobby Heenan brought about the pinfall victory for the Warrior.

Also, we have new Tag Champions, finally! Demolition were finally dethroned in a surprisingly short time by The Hart Foundation. However, Bret Hart was injured in the match and will miss several weeks of action. In a controversial move, the WWF have stated that Hart will be allowed time to recover and a rematch will not take place until Wrestlemania VI.

Last but not least, the WWF committee also announced that a new title was being created, the Television Title and that a tournament would be held over the next few weeks, to determine the 1st champion.
Psymin1Posted on 01/10/05 at 00:56:12

Fantastic card Ian, I love the way your fed is going which is why i keep coming back for more!  I think this has been the pinnacle event so far, and I cant wait for your build up to the grand-daddy of them all-Wrestlemania.  Sad to see Bret hurt, but that should make for an awesome Wrestlemania tag match.  I loved seeing Double J, sad I was wrong on who would win the rumble though.  But, you gotta like the Perfect One claiming the victory.  I got 3 predictions right this time, so I got better, lol.  Im interested to see who will eventually hold the TV title in the upcoming weeks as that should be quite entertaining.  And love seeing the belt stay around Mr. DiBiase's waist.  Again, I think this was the best card to date and highly look forward to reading the next cards.

(Also note:  I am starting up school this week again, and I have some crazy scheduling going on these next two weeks, so don't think you have to wait for my predictions, I most likely won't be making any for the next week or so, but I'll definitely try to read still.)

Comments:

The biggest moment of the night didn't concern any of the matches. Ted DiBiase and Bobby Heenan came out for an interview and Heenan astonished everybody when he announced he had agreed to waive Mr Perfect's title shot at Wrestlemania VI - for a price !!!!

Mr Perfect then appeared and proceeded to argue with Heenan before firing him and then telling DiBiase he would see The Million Dollar Man at WM !!! Suddenly, the BrainBusters appeared and proceeded to attack Perfect, leaving him lying as The Million Dollar Man looked on, laughing!

A very impressive debut from Jeff Jarrett in a very good match. Jarrett wasn't finished for the night though, as he interfered in The Warrior's title defence to the extent that The Warrior demanded to face Jarrett at Wrestlemania VI.

Earlier in the night, Rick Martel, Tito Santana and Ricky Steamboat all progressed in the T.V.Title tournament.

Another great match between DiBiase and Piper saw The Million Dollar Man come up out on top again.

The Big Boss Man managed to defeat Hulk Hogan thanks to some help from his buddy, Akeem.  After the match the Twin Towers challenged the Hulkster (and a partner of his choice) to a match at Wrestlemania.  Hogan accepted and said he would announce his partner at The Main Event Special in 2 weeks time!

Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake and Dusty Rhodes progressed in The Television Title Tournament.

Comments:

What an incredible night of action!!!

Once again Ted DiBiase and The Ultimate Warrior managed to retain their titles, although both matches were so intense, Mr Perfect and Jeff Jarrett will no doubt be looking for rematches.  The Warrior however, may well feel it is time for him to have a shot at the big prize.

The Hart Foundation managed to retain the Tag Titles but will have to look over their shoulders not just at Demolition but also The Twin Towers and BrainBusters who both have fantastic victories.

Barry Windham is the first WWF Televison Titleholder after he managed to defeat Ricky Steamboat.  The final was surprisingly short but both men had won long, gruelling semi final matches so that may not be a total surprise.

Also, The Barbarian and The Warlord were both impressive in their singles debuts.

Classic title match between 2 veterans for the T.V.Title.

In an interview segment Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase came out with the entire Heenan Family (Rude, Windham, Anderson and Blanchard) and challenged Mr Perfect to find 4 partners to participate in the first ever WWF War Games match at Wrestlefest in May.

Later in the night a smiling Mr Perfect introduced Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat and Dusty Rhodes' as his partners for the match!!!

Also announced for Wrestlefest 90 are a rematch for the I-C Title between The Ultimate Warrior and Jeff Jarrett and The Twin Towers will challenge The Hart Foundation for the tag titles.

In other news Hercules and The Rougeaus are out of contract and have left the WWF.

Comments:

Mr Perfect put himself in the running for another shot at the WWF title by getting Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase to submit, to gain victory for his team in the main event.

Demolition looked very good on the comeback trail and The Hart Foundation defeated the massive Twin Towers a lot easier than was expected.

The main event for the King of the Ring has been announced. After another successful I-C title defence, The Ultimate Warrior will finally get his shot at the big one, when he faces The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase for the WWF World Heavyweight Title.

Notes to readers: Mr Perfect for a heel change already?? This isn't WWE circa 2004 you know hahaha!!!

Seriously, thanks for all comments and predictions, its very nice to know others are enjoying my circuit as much as I am. Hopefully tomorrow when I have more time I will do a few more cards as well as some rankings. A lot of wrestlers are due for contract renewals soon so there may be a lot of changes in the next few months (gametime).  Also, look for a couple of turns, one of which may involve an established tag team splitting........

Comments:

What an incredible night of action and full of surprises!!!!

First of all, we saw the return of the legendary Sgt.Slaughter.  Unfortunately, his patriotic attitude has disappeared since he was last in the WWF and he is now managed by the devious one, Mr Fuji.  He did look very impressive though.

Next, we had a very short tag team match when The Dynamite Kid walked out on his longtime partner Davey Boy Smith.  As Smith was walking back to the dressing rooms The Kid attacked him and left him lying.  In an interview he claimed that he had carried Davey Boy for years and he had had enough!!

Finally, and perhaps the most shocking event of all, was Roddy Piper turning on Hulk Hogan after their match.  Not only that, but The Powers of Pain joined in on a 3 on 1 attack!!  Once again Mr Fuji was directing things and Piper announced he was also under the management of Fuji!!!

What a night!!!

Comments:

Can anyone beat The Million Dollar Man???  Yet again Ted DiBiase managed to hold onto his title against another opponent, this time I-C champ The Ultimate Warrior.  Love him or loathe him, no one can deny DiBiase's credibility as he clocks up one year as WWF champ.

The next man to try and dethrone DiBiase is the surprise King of the Ring winner, Rugged Ronnie Garvin.  No doubt Garvin was helped by Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper interfering in each other's matches causing both men to lose, but he still had to win 3 matches to win the crown, and claim a title shot at SummerSlam.

Ricky Steamboat finally managed to defeat Barry Windham in his favourite match , the Iron Man Match.  Windham has already invoked his return clause however, so this rivalry is far from over.

The same can also be said about the rivalries for the WWF Tag Titles and between "The Snake" and "The Macho Man", as nothing was settled in their matches either!!

Comments:

Another Saturday Nights Main Event and another crazy night of WWF action. Let's take it match by match. After a superb display of technical wrestling which ended in a draw, Tito Santana stunned the world by inviting Rick Martel to reform Strike Force. Much to his manager Slick's disgust, Martel accepted and the two men shook hands and left the ring, leaving Slick swearing revenge!

Next, after an awesome tag team title match, Honky Tonk Man, Dino Bravo and Jeff Jarrett all turned on Greg Valentine ending Valentine's long association with Jimmy Hart. All 4 men were smiling as they left "The Hammer" lying in the ring.

In the battle of the British Bulldogs, Davey Boy Smith defeated his longtime partner, The Dynamite Kid. Dynamite was furious and challenged Davey Boy to a "loser leaves WWF" match at Summerslam 1990, which Smith accepted.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan won a shot at the InterContinental Title at SummerSlam by defeating 3 other men in a No.1 contenders match.

In an interview both Jimmy Hart and Slick announced they had signed new tag teams which would soon be debuting in the WWF.

Finally, the main event between Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper descended into chaos, when The Powers of Pain interfered. Things looked even worse for the Hulkster when Demolition appeared, but then to everyone's surprise Demolition chased Piper, The Powers of Pain and even Mr Fuji out of the ring thus saving Hulk Hogan.

Comments:

Another pay per view, and yet another title defence for the Million Dollar Man, is he unstoppable after more than a year as WWF champ?

It was the only title to remain with the champion though as in a major upset Hacksaw Duggan defeated The Warrior, the BrainBusters finally won the WWF Tag Team Title straps and Barry Windham regained the T.V.Title from Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.

The Dynamite Kid gambled with his WWF career - and lost.  He is gone for good leaving Davey Boy Smith to use the name The British Bulldog and go searching for some singles titles!

Earlier in the night, Jimmy Hart's new tag team were revealed as The Nasty Boys, and they looked very impressive, defeating The Rockers.

In an interview segment, Slick also introduced his new tag team.  They are Doom - Ron Simmons and Butch Reed and Slick predicted they would destroy Strike Force!

Hey Ian, Do you think you could email me an export of your wrestler database? I would really like to have some of the wrestlers you use. The Twin Towers is a nice one for instance. If you could send the entire database to me that would be great. I really like your circuit and constantly view the cards. I was hoping Dynamite would go over Davey Boy but oh well.

Thanx, Ed

Hiya,

Sorry, I seem to be having trouble sending an e-mail with the wrestler database attached.

All the wrestlers I've used though are on the main TNM homepage.

Sorry again, but I'm not very technical with these things.

As for the line-up for the next SNME, Perfect vs. Windham should prove good, and I think it's safe to say who's going to win between Von Erich & the Brawler. ;)

People will comment when they feel they have something to say.  Heckling for comments will alienate most people.

"heck·le - heck·led, heck·ling, heck·les:

I highly doubt that Ian was trying to embarrass or annoy anyone.  I think he probably just wanted to see if people were reading, and if they were enjoying what they were reading.  I dont wanna be an ass, but I am being one because I don't think he was "heckling" anyone.  Just My Opinion, though.

It was a matter of me using an incorrect word.  But thank you for pulling out a dictionary on me, as I really appreciate that. [/sarcasm] Regardless, fishing for feedback isn't going to make you any friends around here.  He's getting a lot of views, so someone's reading it.  If that's not good enough for him, he's writing and simming for the wrong reasons.
ianclarkPosted on 01/17/05 at 09:38:48

Alright, alright, I didn't want to start any arguments on my circuit!!

I'm new to all this and was just interested in what people thought, and if any of those viewing with more experience than me, had any comments that would help me to improve the circuit.

I wasn't looking for compliments, just ideas etc

Thanks for the input!
Snabbit888Posted on 01/17/05 at 09:41:13

It's understandable.  Everybody wants to get feedback, ideas, etc. from people, but that'll come in tme.  Just let your circuit do the talking.  It's your baby. :)

Hacksaw Jim Duggan surprised everyone by managing to hold onto his I-C title, meanwhile the T.V.Title match was interupted by Rick Rude, who proceeded to attack Mr Perfect and cost him victory, and the title.

There were very impressive debuts from Doom and The Texas Tornado, Kerry Von Erich.

Overall comments:

What a fantastic first tour of Europe by the WWF!

All of the titles changed hands except the WWF World Heavyweight Title.  We've asked this before but can anyone defeated The Million Dollar Man??

After their aborted match on the tour, Ricky Steamboat will get another chance at the Royal Rumble.  Also, all the other champions will be defending their newly won titles.  Rick Rude will face Mr Perfect and both the British Bulldog and Demoliton will face the opponents they defeated for the titles, Barry Windham and the BrainBusters respectively.  This will mean that Bobby Heenan will have no representatives in the Rumble!

In other news Greg Valentine sustained an injury against Dino Bravo and will miss approximately 3 months of action.

Finally, Brutus Beefcake has decided not to renew his contract and will leave the WWF after the Rumble.

Possibly the greatest pay per view in WWF history!!!

A bold statement but undoubtably true after 4 of the greatest title matches ever followed by a marvellous Royal Rumble match.

The Texas Tornado has been in the WWF for a few months without making much impact but that has all changed now that he has won the Royal Rumble match and booked a place in the Main Event at Wrestlemania VII.

His opponent will be Million Dollar Man who once again defended his WWF World Title taking his reign to 22 months!!!

The WWF Committee has also announced that the Saturday Nights Main Event mini pay per view, will now broadcast every month.

I'm new to the board, but not TNM, and I am highly intrigued with your circuit. So intrigued, that I've been reading this entire topic for the past 20 minutes.

Texas Tornado winning the Rumble was pretty impressive considering he was in there with a couple of big guys in the end... he drew a lucky number. DiBiase has been so dominate as the World Champion that I don't think Tornado has a chance against him at 'mania!

Awesome stuff, though. I look forward to more.
ianclarkPosted on 02/03/05 at 22:21:51

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated!

I'm busy for the next couple of days but will do a big update, hopefully on Sunday. Also, I've been so busy updating my circuit, I've not had much chance to look and comment on other people's - sorry about that. I know its important for everyone to interact so I will do my share soon enough!

Thanks again for the continued interest in my circuit, I've got some great ideas for "1991"!!

The mystery opponent for Koko B.Ware turned out to be THE UNDERTAKER!!!! The Deadman looked impressive on his debut and will no doubt put the fear of God into many WWF stars!

Two major pieces of interference has led to matches being made for WMVII. Randy Savage distracted The Ultimate Warrior in the main event and the two will now meet in the big show! Also, Bad News Brown will challenge for the WWF Television Title after attacking The British Bulldog during his title defence. Finally, Barry Windham will square off against Mr Perfect in a loser leaves WWF match.

Comments:

Once again The Million Dollar Man retained his WWF World Title.  The WWF committee has decided to hold a No.1 contenders tournament to find the next man to challenge DiBiase at The King of the Ring in June!

Meanwhile there was an upset in the Tag Title match as Demolition were defeated by the Powers of Pain, a team they have beaten on numerous previous occasions!

Rick Rude and the British Bulldog managed to hold onto their titles however.

Mr Perfect has been forced to leave the WWF after his defeat at the hands of Barry Windham.  Windham did show some class at the end of the match though, by shaking Perfect's hand and raising his arm to the crowd who were cheering the "Perfect One".

Also through with the WWF is Ronnie Garvin after his crushing defeat at the hands of The Undertaker, who must be one of the favourites in the No.1. contenders tournament.

Meanwhile, the Harts have decided to try their hands at singles wrestling for the time being.  Replacing them in the tag ranks are the new signings, The Steiner Brothers!

Finally, Roddy Piper seems to have finally won his lengthy feud with Hulk Hogan!
VertigoPosted on 02/08/05 at 00:22:54

Wow, I only managed to predict the winner of 6 matches - that's terrible!

I was shocked to see Demolition lost, but was very pleased to see that the Steiner Bros. are joining the ranks!

If the Hart Foundation is seperating, the No. 1 contendors tournament could be a very good way for Bret Hart to break out into a singles superstar. I'm seeing Undertaker going all the way, though.

Was definatly an action packed PPV. I'll have to work on my picks for the next card, haha.

Demolition are once again the WWF Tag Team champions after defeating The Powers of Pain in a best of 3 falls match.  After the match, The Powers of Pain decided not to renew their contracts and have left the WWF.

Also, The Steiners made their long awaited in ring debut, but were not very impressive in beating the hastily assembled team of Akeem and The Brooklyn Brawler.

The Million Dollar Man took his title reign to a full 2 years tonight, as he once again retained the WWF Title.  However, he did not look too happy earlier in the night as The Undertaker became the No.1 contender by winning the King of the Ring tournament.  DiBiase was seen talking to Slick and Jimmy Hart amongst others during the course of the night.

Meanwhile, Dusty Rhodes has now left the WWF after his title defeat.
VertigoPosted on 02/10/05 at 23:58:43

Wow, you have some whiners, haha. Dusty Rhodes & the Powers of Pain leave after losing in title matches.

My tournament bracket wasn't even close! The finals was interesting with Jake & Dusty. I would have figured Jake to win the KOTR, but that wasn't so.

Undertaker vs DiBiase should be pretty intense.

Demoltion champs again? I wouldn't expect them to ever lose the belts again.

What a main event.  Outside interference from Roddy Piper and Randy Savage ultimately led to the decision and to Hulk Hogan's injury.  Fortunately, the injury will only keep Hulk out for the next SNME card.

Comments:

A fabulous main event match was followed by an amazing 8 on 1 attack on The Undertaker!  Clearly very worried by their upcoming title match, Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase has splashed his cash as he, Jeff Jarrett, Dino Bravo, Honky Tonk Man, Big Boss Man, Akeem and Doom all attacked the Deadman, with a view to putting him out of action.  DiBiase was left smiling as The Undertaker was left lying.  He wasn't smiling though, when The Undertaker got up and chased his attackers, to the cheers of the fans!!!

In other news, as previously stated 5 men have decided not to renew their contracts with the WWF and this could have a profound effect on the WWF.  The men to leave are Jim Niedhart, Dino Bravo, Big Boss Man, Marty Jannetty (Shawn Michaels will continue as a singles wrestler) and the biggest news of all, Hulk Hogan !!!!!

The WWF committee has already announced they are neogotiating with numerous wrestlers to bring in some fresh faces but in the short term the roster is at its leanest for years.

What a night!!!!

All 4 titles changed in one pay per view event.  Ted DiBiase had every reason to be worried in the lead up to this event, as The Undertaker managed to finally end his reign as WWF Champion.  No doubt the Million Dollar Man will be desperate to regain the title.

Meanwhile, Bret Hart won the I-C title at his first real opportunity in a stunning match against Rick Rude.

Ricky Steamboat was a surprisingly easy victor over the British Bulldog and in the first match of the night, Doom managed to upset Demolition for the tag titles.

News is filtering through that neogotiations are continuing with numerous wrestlers and the WWF committee has announced that some new signings will appear at the next SNME in September.
ianclarkPosted on 02/20/05 at 20:38:23

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

The WWF committee has made a major announcement regarding a number of new signings to the WWF roster.  The incredible list includes:

Tatanka
The Road Warriors (managed by Paul Ellering)
Irwin R.Schyster
Vader
The Midnight Express (managed by Jim Cornette)

and last but not least.

Ric Flair!!

Flair has already hinted at a reunion of the legendary Four Horsemen, and with Anderson, Blanchard and Windham already in the WWF, the question is: where does this leave Rick Rude??

Comments:

Vader has announced his arrival in the WWF by crushing Hacksaw Jim Duggan and causing some serious injuries which will keep Hacksaw out of wrestling for a number of months.

Also, Shawn Michaels showed his true colours by viciously attacking Ricky Steamboat after "The Dragon"'s successful title defence against the Bulldog.

The Midnight Express' WWF debut was ruined by interference from their old adversaries the Rock 'n' Roll Express.  Jim Cornette's night was even more upset when Morton and Gibson announced they had also signed with the WWF.

Strike Force have decided to separate after limited success as a tag team.

Comments:

What an event, so much happened!

The 4 Horsemen are back and its official!!  As many have suspected, Ric Flair announced the reformation of the famous group of rulebreakers after he defeated "The Hammer" on his WWF debut.  One by one Flair brought out each man, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and manager Bobby Heenan.  One man not announced however was Rick Rude, although it wasn't long before the Ravishing one appeared in the ring and verbally attacked Flair.  Just like the old days though the Horsemen work as a group and all 4 men violently attacked Rude, leaving him lying in the ring as all 5 men walked away smiling.  Later in the night Rude somehow put on a  tremendous match against Bret Hart in their rematch but again it was interference from the Horsemen which eventually cost him the match!

Earlier in the night, in another interview segment, Jimmy Hart announced that The Honky Tonk Man had left the WWF but that he had already signed a replacement.  The replacement turned out to be none other than "The Beast from the East", Bam Bam Bigelow!!!

In the first match of the evening The Road Warriord much vaunted debut was somewhat spoiled when they were defeated by The Nasty Boys.

The card for the Survivor Series will also be announced shortly.

Comments:

The wildcard match teams will be decided on the night by a random draw.
Murphy42782Posted on 02/24/05 at 05:39:22

what is the reasoning behind having Bam Bam and Savage on Flair's Survivor Series team instead of the rest of the Horsemen? Just curious if there is a reason, or if you just felt all of the tag teams should take part in the final match you have listed. Also, thats a neat idea to have a random drawing for the top match. Is the winner of that gonna be in line for a title shot since Taker is involved? Love the fed keep up the good work.
ianclarkPosted on 02/24/05 at 09:35:10

I can see what you mean about all the Horsemen forming one team but I really wanted the wildcard match, and that kinda dictated that I also have the tag team match.  Therefore, I had to use other singles wrestlers to fill out Flair's team.  Also, I wanted to continue the Warrior / Savage thing and neither really deserved to be in the main event on recent results.  Finally, this meant I could have a match between a number of the contenders for the T.V.Title (again, Warrior, Savage and even Bigelow didn't really fit there).

It depends on the result but obviously if someone defeats the champ (or survives the match), they would be in line for a title shot.  If that doesn't happen there'll probably be some sort of No.1 contenders match in the near future.

Hope that explains things a little.  Thanks for the questions.

Vader is the new No.1 contender for the WWF title after only being on the roster for a couple of months, but he deserved it in an excellent 4 corners match in which all the competitors can take credit.

A couple of upset results but not everything is as it seems as Rick Rude cost Ric Flair his match and then the "Nature Boy" returned the "favour" later in the night!!

Finally, look at the standard of the matches tonight, fantastic!!!!

Crushing victories for Vader and Demolition as they retained their titles.  Meanwhile, there was a much tighter match for the Television Title as Shawn Michaels just managed to fend off "The Dragon".  The only title to change was the I-C title in a classic match between two veteran wrestlers.  There will be no rematch though as Sgt. Slaughter has decided to take a sabbatical from wrestling.  Also leaving is Bad News Brown, who is heading to Japan.

The first match of the night, the Battle Royal introduced two new faces (or should I say heels?) to the WWF in the form of Diesel and Razor Ramon.  They both looked very impressive and indeed it was Diesel who finally came out on to in the Battle Royal.  Watch for these guys in the future!

I'm really starting to think I've lost my way with this circuit (although for a 1st attempt I'm quite proud of it). Therefore, unless anyone with more expertise (which won't be difficult), can give me any suggestions on how to get "back on track", I'm gonna call it a day for this circuit.

Good news is, I have got an idea for another circuit. It will start at approx. the same time frame (i.e. late 80's), but will start from a wider selection of wrestlers, rather than just being from the WWF. My first idea is to put the names of 60 or 70 wrestlers active at the time (mainly WWF and NWA/WCW but some others), into a big hat and then draw out 30 names (completely at random), to make up the first roster of the new ICW (Ian's Championship Wrestling - please excuse my vanity until I think of a better name!).

My only suggestion is for more detailed write ups, and that you include the winning move in the results...it's great to know who won, but it would be better if we know how other than by pinfall or DQ or what have you. Other than that...I can't think of any suggestions at all.

Definatly more detailed write-ups. You'll find that you get behind your wrestlers a lot more and you even get anxious waiting for the next show because you know the matches are going to be big. Without storylines, you're just running cards to see who wins titles... it's tedious.

Also, you could use a Sunday morning program, like Superstars or whatever they had around 1992... use that to build storylines. You don't need to have matches, just post it and give details about what's going on, and maybe have interviews.

That's about it... RAW isn't on for another 3 years... hopefully you'll make it there.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

Looking back over my circuit, I couldn't agree more.  I've got so obsessed with trying to rush through as many cards as possible (50 and counting), I didn't take the time to build up storylines and feuds etc.  Prime examples of this are the "recent" inactivity of guys like Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage!!

I've decided to call it quits with this circuit (presuming that's O.K.), and start up a new circuit as per my idea in my previous post.  Hopefully, I can learn from my mistakes here and produce an even better circuit!

Look out for it in the next couple of days...

At least do a FINAL show... give DiBiase a rematch for the World Title!!!

You could give us an example of how you will present your new circuit by doing a farewell show with this circuit.

Comments:

So that's it, the end of this circuit.  Ted DiBiase won back the World Title, quite appropriately and the whole card was littered with great matches.  The only real disappointments were the short matches between Steamboat & Backlund, Rude/Perfect & Flair/Windham and Undertaker/Warrior & Savage/Bam Bam.

The new circuit will have more detail than this card but probably not the T.V. style that everyone else seems to be using.

Finally, to everyone that has read my circuit, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed booking the matches.

See you soon.....
