I usually don't post these press events over here, but due to one of the matches being explained in this one, I figured it would be a good idea. Otherwise, people who read Firestorm '05 - Show 6 might be confused as to what a "Point Crush" match was.

NWJ owner/booker Eiji Ezaki announced today the 6th show in the current Firestorm '05 tour. He said the reason that these shows are being kept seceret is that they are all worthy of being tour ending PPV events, and that he wants people to focus on shows at hand instead of the upcoming shows. With that he said that he will give us a taste of what is upcoming on this tour.

SHOW 6:
1 Charlie Hass (NWA:WC) -v- Shinsuke Nakamura(c) (GWA International Title Match)
2 Masahiro Chono -v- Toru Yano (Point Crush Match)
3 Atsushi Onita, Megumi Kudo, Mr. Gannosuke, & The Golden Dragons -v- Mr. Pogo, Shark Tsuchiya, Terry Funk, & Erotic Textile(Kintaro Kanemura & Tetsuhiro Kuroda)
(5 -v- 5 elimination match)
4 Jyushin Lyger -v- Kaz Hayashi -v- Great Sasuke -v- X
5 Tiger Mask IV -v- Curry Man
6 Masahito Kakihara -v- Koji Kanemoto
7 Team EGO (CIMA & Magnum TOKYO) -v- Dos Dragons (Ultimo Dragon & Dragon Kid)
8 Eiji Ogoya -v- an NWJ Dojo Student

He then brought out Nakamura who he said was the future of NWJ and the GWA. Nakamura spoke breifly about his main event match with Hass at the newly announced show. Saying that although he doesn't want to take anything away from his opponent, that he doesn't feel Hass is going to be very challenging.

Ezaki then brought out Chono and Yano, who looked to be able to be civil with one another. Chono said that he's the GWA champion for a reason, and that reason is because he is the best. He admited to underestimating Yano's ability and said that it would not happen again. Yano said that he feels the Point Crush style of match gives him the advantage, and with that advantage, he should have no problem overcoming Chono again. Eiji then went on to explain the rules of the Point Crush system.

Point Crush:
Matches are broken into 3 rounds of indefinate time, each round is worth 3 points. 1 point to the person who scores the pin or submission, thus ending the round. 1 to the person who the judges feel was the best in the ring during the round. and 1 to the person voted by the crowd to have been the better man for that round. After the 3 rounds have completed, the point totals are added up and the man with the higher number of points wins the match.

The crowd voting will be done with key pads attatched to the chairs at the event. Ezaki says that the rules may seem strange, but that he feels that these rules are fresh, and that is what the wrestling world needs to break it's current slump. He also points out that under these rules a man could be pinned all 3 rounds and still manage to win the match.

He then announces that there will be a mystery guest appearing in the 4 way Jr. Heavyweight Match. He hints that it's someone who everyone seems to enjoy, but will not comment further on the mystery mans identity.

Lastly he brings out NWJ Dojo Headmaster and 1 half of the NWJ Tag Team Champions, Hisakatsu Ohya, to talk about the opening match. Ohya says that he feels that
the current crop of NWJ Dojo Trainees is ready to start making some apperences. He admits that none of them are as much of a prodigy as Ogoya was, but think that they will be able to put on an entertaining match. With that he announces that an NWJ Dojo Trainee with fight with the first Dojo graduate, Eiji Ogoya, to open up this show.

With that the press conference comes to a close.
