Match observations:

The second show on the Firestorm '05 tour saw some upsets, and a ton of great
wrestling action.

Our first match pitted Terry Funk against Tetsuhiro Kuroda. Both men have had some
trouble racking up the wins in the past, but recently Kuroda broke free of that slump
and scored a few solid upsets. Funk came in tonight to put himself on the track to
victory and derail the recovering Kuroda. Kuroda said that Funk was well past his
prime in the pre-show press conference, and that he felt he would have no problem
beating the "old man". Funk then stormed out and attacked Kuroda, forcing the two to
be seperated. Kuroda seemed to be correct though, as Funk did look well past his prime
tonight. However he managed to score a big upset when he reversed a back suplex into
a cross body block to pick up a suprise 3 count. Kuroda was very upset that he was
unable to kick out, but said that he will train harder, and will not let this loss
set him back to his old loosing ways.

Tiger Mask had his first post-Thundercats match tonight, and it was a successful one
against Great Sasuke. Sasuke couldn't counter Tiger's stiff kicks, and eventually fell
prey to the Tiger Suplex. Tiger Mask looked very sharp out there, and he seems likely
to make the tag team to singles transition very well. We'll get to see how Lyger looks
at our next show, With the two meeting in the ring at show 4.

Next up was Kakihara and Dragon Kid. Masahito Kakihara had a less than impressive
debut last card as he lost to Shoichi Funaki. He came back strong tonight and beat
Dragon Kid very convincingly. The two seemed fairly evenly matched in the early goings
of this match, but once Kakihara pulled out the MMA training, he definatly outclassed
Dragon Kid. Why he didn't use his MMA skills during the fight with Funaki we may never
quite know...

Minoru Fujita had his V1 title defense tonight. Ultimo Dragon, who is considered to
be a legend among Jr. Heavyweights, was unable to upstage the young and upcoming
Fujita. Dragon and Fujita put on an excellent Jr. Heavyweight match, and the fans
loved it. Dragon gave his acceptence to the NWJ Jr. Heavyweight Champion after the
match, saying that before the match, he had never really considered Fujita to be of
champion caliber, but after this match, that he thinks Fujita may be able to become
one of the Jr. Heavyweight greats as long as he stays focused. Fujita thanked Dragon
for the comments and for being an inspiration to all Jr.'s.

Up next was the team of Kaz Hayashi and Eiji Ogoya taking on Team EGO. EGO needs to
get back into gear, and Hayashi and Ogoya proved they are certainly not the team to
do that against. Ogoya despite his rookie status, has proved to be an impressive
competitor in the ring, and with the help of Hayashi and Kanemoto lately he is only
improving.

Toru Yano upset Masahiro Chono tonight. In a match which everyone assumed was going
to be a Chono victory, Yano left everyone dazed when he not only kept up with Chono,
but actually outclassed him. Yano said that just because he likes to drink and have
fun, that he should not be underestimated in the ring. Yano reminded everyone of his
seriously impressive amature background, and said that just like Chono, anyone who
treated him like a joke was going to get put in their place.

Up next was a big 6 man tag match. Onita, Kudo, and Nagayo vs. Pogo, Tsuchiya, and
Toyota, in a captain's rules barbed wire exploding ring fire deathmatch. Neither side
really had a clear cut advantage. Onita's side was probably the better technical
wrestlers, and Pogo's side definatly had them outsized and out brawled. In the end
though it was the ladies on Onita's team that made the difference. Both of them
wrestled excellently even they where exhausted and after the explosion. Which Pogo's
ladies couldn't do. After Nagayo took fall one, it was only a short wait before Kudo
scored the winning fall.

Tenzan made some big claims at the pre-show conference, saying that Nagata was not
even close to being champion material, and that NWJ would be better off letting a
dog be champion. Although this match was scheduled as a TV Title defense for Tenzan
Ezaki decided that since Nagata had recently won the NWJ Heavyweight Title, he would
suspend the defense until the second half of the tour. Nagata agreed saying that all
he wanted was Tenzan in the ring, and that he was going to make Tenzan eat his words.
Nagata let his emotions get in the way, and was throwing wild strikes at Tenzan, most
of which never found their target. Tenzan basiclly waited for the champion to tire
himself out and then took control of the match. Tenzan delivered a few big moves
before hitting his diving headbutt for the 3 count and a big upset over the champion.
Ezaki mentioned making Nagata's first defense a double title defense against Tenzan.

Well that's all for us tonight, we hope you'll catch our next show. Thanks for reading
and have a good night.

This was one hell of a card! An overall 4* show! Amazing!

Funk showed he can still go... but at least Kuroda is keeping his head up. He has potential if he can just stop losing. Congrats to Tiger Mask IV for a successful singles match... although still saddened by the seperation of Thundercats, both guys will do well in singles.

I was rooting for Kakihara at the last show... and was surprised that he lost... but when he breaks out that old the old MMA/UWF-i stuff, he'll be pretty tough to beat.

The rookie needs to continue hanging with that crowd. They're good a influence on Ogoya. Yano beats Chone... wow... and then talks tough afterwards. Well, he kept up with Chono and was the better man... so I guess he can backup his talk.

Cool to see you getting the ladies involved... in a deathmatch no less. I can't imagine how insane that match went... there had to be blood and fire and barbed wire everywhere! Would have been better if the eliminations went back and forth, but what can you do?

I was glad to see Tenzan prevail over Nagata. The "dog" comment is extremely harsh... and Nagata had to be pissed about it. Tenzan got under his skin to the point where Nagata could not focus on a gameplan as Nagata just wanted to hurt Tenzan... Tenzan had a plan, though, and it helped him get the victory.

A solid card... I enjoyed reading it. Do you have an approximate date of where your circuit is? I also went back and read some of your first NWJ shows which I was not on the board then... and confirmed to myself that Hayabusa is in fact the promoter. That's pretty cool - I wish I had known that before I put Hayabusa in my circuit... it's awkward that our circuits are based around the same time period, but you have Hayabusa in a wheelchair and I have Hayabusa main eventing...

It's all good it's fantasy.

My fed is loosely based in real time...I think this show was held on the 11th of March. and the next one will be held tomorrow (wether or not I have time to post it is another story entirely ;) ).

I'm glad you are enjoying it. I try to have a realistic puro feel, I think I succeed decently enough. Again thanks for the feedback.
