Cincinnati Pro presents Maximum Impact
Friday, June 10, 2005
Bell Time: 8:00 p.m.
Western Hills Sports Center
Cincinnati, Ohio

(The Western Hill Sports Center is slowly filling up with eager wrestling fans. A lot of new faces in the crowd, but also a lot of familiar ones from last months show, First Encounter. As 8:00 p.m. rolls around, ring announcer Seth Martini makes his way to the ring. After welcoming and thanking the fans for coming to the show, he makes the big announcement regarding the 3 Man Round Robin this evening. He says that in a random drawing, Hayabusa drew the lucky position of 1st and 3rd match which will give him a long break in between matches. Alexander Otsuka and Chris Hero, however, will have to wrestle virtually back-to-back! With that announcement, we begin the evening with the first match of the round robin!)

Rating: ***

Both wrestlers knew tonight would be difficult since they both would have to wrestle twice, so they both tried to end the match as quickly as possible. It ended in just under 5 minutes, but the intensity was insane! So many quick pin attempts and near falls. It all came down to who had the best counter or the most luck. Hayabusa countered a Hero hiptoss attempt with a backslide for the win. This gives Hayabusa an advantage as he goes 1-0 in the nights Round Robin. Hero must win his next match just to tie... but it's going to be rough since he won't be as fresh as Alexander Otsuka. In a sign of respect, Hero shook the hand of Hayabusa following the match.

Rating: *** 1/4

Wow! What a fast paced cruiserweight match this was! Chris Leben started off very aggressively, but Noble would retaliate with his own aggressiveness. Leben looked a lot better in this match than he did last month against El Dandy. It is obvious that he has been training hard. Both wrestlers exchanged hold for hold and countered whenever possible. Just when it looked like Noble was on the verge of putting Leben away, Leben surprises Noble with a fisherman suplex with a bridge for the pinfall! The fans are on their feet applauding the efforts of both wrestlers who shake hands in the center of the ring. Noble holds up Leben's arm in victory.

(Ring announcer Seth Martini announces the next match as the mystery tag team match. To our knowledge, no one has heard anything about who these teams are or even rumored or hinted at anyone. The fans are on their feet looking towards the curtain in anticipation. And who steps through the curtain first? That's "ADORABLE" ADRIAN ADONIS! Where did he come from!? And right behind him... MINNESOTA GOVERNOR, JESSE "THE BODY" VENTURA!! How was CEO Russ Myers able to get either of these guys!! An EAST-WEST CONNECTION reunion right here in Cincinnati, Ohio!! Adonis is as arrogant as ever and Ventura has everything from the bandana to the jewelry to the tie-dyed tights on!! This is great! The fans are showing respect! CEO Russ Myers has scored big with this team... but who has he gotten for opponents? The anticipation is killing the fans! Ventura is in the ring posing endlessly... good old times! Wait!! Firing out of the curtain, the Western Hills Sports Center has become electrified! TITO SANTANA and RICK MARTEL!! The great STRIKE FORCE are in full effect tonight!! There should have been an 80's theme to tonight's show!! The fans are going crazy! Some of the younger wrestling fans have no idea who some of these guys are, but they're going crazy anyway because everyone around them is!)

Rating: * 1/2

A classic mid-80's brawl in 2005! Referee Matt Schalk had a rough time gaining any resemblence of control over this match and the fans just kept adding fuel to the fire with their cheers! By the end, the referee had no idea who was the legal man and who wasn't! Santana locked on his old stand-by finisher, the figure-four on the illegal man, Adrian Adonis. The referee was out of it as he went ahead and counted Adonis's shoulders to the mat even though Ventura had been officially tagged in just moments earlier. The brawl continued for a little bit after the match until Adonis and Ventura retreated to the back. Strike Force stood in the ring as the victors when CEO Russ Myers mad his way to ringside. In his hand is a clipboard with papers on it. The fans no exactly what's on that clipboard. As Myers climbs in the ring, the fans cheer eagerly. Myers gets on the microphone and tells Strike Force that Cincinnati Pro would be more than happy to have both of them appear regularly! He then offers them the contracts. Both Tito and Martel sign and the fans erupt! Wow! Strike Force are now added to the tag team ranks of Cincinnati Pro!! What a huge gain!

Rating: * 3/4

Marty Jannetty made it to the show and was met with an unfavorable reaction from the fans because of his no-show at First Encounter. The match began slow with Nowinski taking some serious punishment from all three wrestlers before finally tagging out before getting pinned. For the 15 minutes that followed, all four wrestlers fought hard to score a win. Kronus somehow managed to knock out Matt Schalk who was out of the match for a good 3-4 minutes before awaking and disqualifying Kronus. Since El Dandy was the legal man at the time of the incident, El Dandy was awarded to victory. The fans hated the decision as did the other wrestlers. The decision is final, however, and it will go down as a win for El Dandy in the record book.

Rating: *** 3/4

As Chris Hero made his way to the ring for his second match of the night, he appeared to be okay. He was not favoring any particular part of his body or showed any signs of fatigue. When Hero began going at Otsuka, he went at him hard! Otsuka is a fighter, but he took a hell of a beating in this one. Hero managed to split Otsuka open on the outside of the ring and hit the Hero's Welcome on floor. A lot of close pin attempts in this match as well... had the crowd on the edge of their seats the entire match. After a brief exchange on the outside, Hero was caught off guard getting back into the ring and this enabled Otsuka to lock the Jujigatame for the submission victory. Hero falls 0-2 in this Round Robin. Hayabusa and Otsuka will do battle to determine the winner of the Round Robin as both wrestlers are 1-0. You have to believe the advantage is in the favor of Hayabusa with Hayabusa being well rested and Otsuka being not only tired, but also bloody and bruised.

(Ring announcer Seth Martini makes a few announcements concerning merchandise and concessions before calling for a brief 10 minute intermission. Strike Force, Shark Boy, and Matt Stryker come out to greet the fans and sign any autographs.)
**INTERMISSION**
(In the locker rooms, Noble and Leben are discussing their match. Noble is giving him some pointers on things he thought Leben should work on while Leben was telling Noble how he figured out how to counter some of Noble's moves. Chris Hero is sitting alone on a bench with a towel around his head and ice on his left elbow. Hayabusa walks by and pats Hero on the shoulder. Mosh heads out of the locker room in search of CEO Russ Myers. He informs Myers that Thrasher has yet to make it to the building and that he really doesn't want to be left out of the Triangle Tag Team Match because he wants to get his hands on the Insane Clown Posse. Myers says he needs to find a replacement then before the end of intermission as the Triangle Tag Team Match is on next.)
(Meanwhile, in the other locker rooms, Buff Bagwell is strutting his stuff and being as cocky as ever, still bragging to anyone in ear shot about what he did to Hardcore Holly last month. The Insane Clown Posse is sitting by themselves in a corner. They make a remark towards two of their opponents tonight, Sean O'Haire and Mike Awesome. O'Haire and Awesome approach them ready to fight, but are being pushed back by El Dandy, Mark Henry, and Nowinksi. Otsuka is meeting with the in-house doctor who is examining the cut above Otsuka's eye. It looks like it may need stitches, but Otsuka refuses any treatment until after tonight's main event.)

**INTERMISSION**

(Back from intermission and ring announcer Seth Martini introduces the Triangle Tag Team Match. The powerful team of Mike Awesome and Sean O'Haire make their way to the ring. Out next in the Insane Clown Posse who don't look like they're having a party this month like they did at First Encounter. They look mad. And rightfully so - the crowd absolutely hates them. Mosh comes out next alone... )

Mosh: So... Thrasher couldn't be hear tonight.. and I was told that if I couldn't find a partner for tonight, I couldn't participate in the match. So I regret to inform you that I have not found a partner... (the crowd boos) but someone found me!

(Smoke machines go off at the curtain and through the smoke walks Jinsei Shinzaki! The crowd erupts! At First Encounter, Shinzaki was a replacement against Mike Awesome and came up way short. It's obvious that he wants some retribution!)

(Thrasher no-showed.)

Mosh and Shinzaki were virtually wrestling a 2-on-4 match in the beginning of the match as ICP and Awesome & O'Haire were working together in order to eliminate them. Shaggy 2 Dope capitalized on the beating that O'Haire gave Shinzaki to finish Shinzaki off. 2 Dope pinning Shinzaki sent the fans into a RAGE! When just minutes earlier, the fans were booing the hell out of O'Haire and Awesome, they were now cheering them on in the hopes that they would eliminate ICP! When O'Haire pinned Shaggy 2 Dope, the crowd erupted. O'Haire had no idea what to make of the situation. This just goes to show you how despised the ICP is these days.

(Vicious and Delicious make their way to the ring for the next match. The fans are really fed up with Buff's strutting and smiling. He acts like he owns the world. Norton seems to be there just to protect Buff from getting beat up all the time. When the get in the ring, Buff takes the microphone...)

Buff Bagwell: Last month in Hamilton, Ohio, I did what many thought was the biggest mistake of my career. I took Hardcore Holly and I slammed him right into this ring post! NO ONE speaks to me the way Hardcore Holly was! And NO ONE tries to screw me and my parter here out of a victory! Ever since the incident, you haven't seen Holly on WWE TV now have you? Oh wait... you never see him on WWE TV anyways! (Buff and Norton get a good laugh out of the comment as the fans boo the cheap stab) So Matt Stryker... Shark Boy... now that we have a REAL official in here, come on out and we'll show you exactly who the best tag team in Cincinnati Pro is!

(With that, Matt Stryker and Shark Boy charge out from behind the curtain and slide into the ring. Buff and Norton bail to the floor as Shark Boy and Stryker are ready to fight. The fans are on their feet cheering the duo.)

V&D did a whole lot of double teaming in this one which was expected. It looked as if Shark Boy and Matt Stryker had finally started getting the upper hand and they mounted a big comeback when Buff got the pin out of nowhere. Norton and Buff celebrated on the outside of the ring as Shark Boy checked on Stryker. Buff started taunting Shark Boy, trying to get him to come outside the ring and fight, but Shark Boy was not about to get a double post-match beating. V&D left to a chorus of boos.

Rating: ***

This was not a very long match, but it was extremely fast-paced. In the beginning it was all Hayabusa. He was fresh and he was coming hard at Otsuka. Otsuka used every attempt to get an upper hand on Hayabusa which led him to pull the referee in the way of a Hayabusa Asai moonsault. Otsuka capitalized while Hayabusa was tending to the referee. Another referee came down to the ring. Otsuka continued to rain a beating on Hayabusa including busting Hayabusa open on the outside of the ring. Otsuka nearly knocked Hayabusa out on the outside and when they came back in the ring, Hayabusa was easy pickings for a dragon suplex and a pinfall. Alexander Otsuka wins the Round Robin going 2-0, Hayabusa places second at an even 1-1 and Chris Hero falls short 0-2.

(Ring announcer Seth Martini makes the final announcements of the evening and encourages everyone to be at the next show which is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 8th, 2005 in Northern Kentucky at Peel's Palace. He also encourages everyone to spread the word of Cincinnati Pro. After plugging the Hotline, his job is done. A few babyfaces come out of the locker room to greet the fans as they leave.)

Overall: ** 3/4

Match of the Night: Alexander Otsuka vs. Chris Hero

Who was CHris Leben again? Shootfighter?
It seems like people will be satisfied now that ICP lost. What a reunion night, the fans most be satisfied seeing those two team back together again.

Have you tweaked the "wrestler attacks ref" column in TweakCirc? It's seriously bugged in my opinion.. even putting it at 100 causes it to happen at least every other card. I always press 'C' when someone is disqualified as it is absurd that it happens that often. Unless you plan to push someone as a vicious heel that is.

I was a little disappointed that El Dandy was awarded the win as well.. dunno if it had worked that way in real life.. but then again, all real life 4-way matches are Fatal Four Ways these days.

Chris Hero looks to end up like James Gibson did in my Indy circuit. He was one of the 3 main eventers, but lost every match and eventually left...

Yes, Chris Leben is an ultimate fighter. He's on the show "The Ultimate Fighter" on SpikeTV. He originally got elimated from the show, but then they just brought him back this week - he'll probabaly win now.

No, I have not messed with the referee attacks. I did mess with the no-show and made it so I have hardly any no-shows... but in two shows I have had two no-shows. It worries me that someone major is going to no-show.

Cincinnati Pro Official Hotline
Updated June 24, 2005

Cincinnati Pro has some big information for you this update! First off, Cincinnati Pro will be at Peel's Palace in Florence, Kentucky on Friday, July 8th! Show will began at 8 p.m. and we urge everyone to be there as this show is going to be HUGE!

First off, as many of you remember, WWE Superstar Hardcore Holly was brutally attacked as he refereed a match two months. The attackers; Buff Bagwell and Scott Norton. Well, WWE has granted Hardcore Holly to work with Cincinnati Pro for awhile! While Holly would like to get his hands on Vicious and Delicious, CEO Russ Myers will not allow that match to take place at this time. Instead, Myers has scheduled a tag team match... Hardcore Holly and anyone he brings to Cincinnati Pro will face the powerful duo of Mike Awesome & Sean O'Haire!

Also, NWA:TNA wrestler, Abyss, will return to Cincinnati Pro! He has been overheard saying good things about the promotion and has decided to work one more show. He has been assigned to a match against bigtime local favorites, Matt Stryker & Shark Boy. His partner... none other than El Dandy.... handpicked by Abyss himself!! We don't get it either!

That's all we have to report as of right now, but call back next week for a full lineup for July 8th at Peel's Palace in Florence, Kentucky!

I could spoil the show for you and tell you who wins the middleweight division on the Ultimate Fighter...but I will let you find out for yourself.

Anyway, you have some awesome shows. I was pulling for Hayabusa in the mini-tournament...but I guess you can't always get what you want.

Shinzaki fell to 2 Dope! Weak! Gah, you have the biggest heel team on the boards right now in my opinion, so congratulations to you, also...fuck them. I can't express my distaste enough. But I guess that's good when you are a heel team.

The Jesse Ventura deal was sweet, I wonder if it was political suicide though :-P. I'm not the biggest Strike Force fan, but it's cool to see some guys from my childhood back in the ring.

Keep posting 'em, and I'll keep reading 'em.
