DCW Brute Force (2/21/05)

americamamushiPosted on 02/28/05 at 02:17:25

Welcome fans to DCW Brute Force!  We're coming to you live from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas!  Home of the AHL's Houston Aeros, the WNBA's Houston Comets, and the NBA's Houston Rockets!  Speaking of the Rockets, we've got a special guest Yao Ming at ringside tonight to see what sort of action will unfold tonight just 6 days away from the Tribulation pay-per-view!  Here's what we have in store for you tonight ladies and gentlemen:  After missing his debut match last week we've just gotten word that Sabu Farhat is definitely in the arena tonight!  We'll find out who the last two Lightweight wrestlers that will be in the big 8-man pinfall only battle royal at Tribulation.  We'll also be hearing from Hardcore Holly regarding the injury last week of Charlie Haas, who was set to be his opponent at the pay-per-view.  Not to mention that after last week's actions by Solo Snuka, who slapped wrestling legend Roddy Piper in the face as he attended the event as a guest of DCW, we've been told that not only is "Rowdy" Roddy in the arena tonight in Houston, but he'll be bringing us a very special Piper's Pit!  Plus tonight's big main event, Jimmy Jacobs & Ludvig Borga will be teaming up to face Raven and Abyss, their respective singles opponents at Tribulation.  Right now, we're ready to get things started in the ring, so let's take you down to our first match of the evening.
Konnan vs. Garrison Cade

Things started off with a couple nice simple spots that made both men look good to some degree.  Cade took advantage of the match after ducking a somersault clothesline and really never gave the match back.  It looked like Cade could do no wrong in the match.  Konnan would duck or reverse something here and there, but it seemed Cade was always a step ahead of K-Dawg.  He got a nice series of near falls first with an inverted DDT, then a hard elbow small that looked to really rock Konnan, then with a HUGE powerslam, then with a vertical facebuster.  Cade was amazed that Konnan kept kicking and the fans looked to be too, but Cade didn't give it too much thought and went back on the offensive, making sure Konnan couldn't capitalize.  At one point Konnan managed to hit a big clothesline that knocked Cade down, but instead of trying for the pin, he went up top and missed a flying elbowdrop.  Konnan missed a couple of really good opportunities to turn things around towards the end.  Cade got another couple of near falls in a row at the end, first with another hard elbow shot, then a standing powerslam.  After Konnan kicked form the powerslam, Cade picked him up, Konnan managed to fight out with a couple shots to the gut and he ran into the ropes.  On his way back he did a somersault and when he got up from it to hit the clothesline was hit with a vicious superkick.  Cade finished things with a beautiful flying legdrop.

Garrison Cade pinned Konnan with the Top-Rope Legdrop in 0:08:57.

*The cameras cut to the back where we see President Berry at his desk playing a Nintendo DS.  No sooner do we see him than Sabu walks in with a sour look on his face*

Chris Berry: *looking up from his game*  Ah Sabu, there you are.

Sabu Farhat: Let me guess.  You're going to ask me why I wasn't at the arena last week.  Well I'll tell you just like I've told everyone that will listen.  I tried to be at the arena last week, but you know what?  I was detained!  I was detained by security because of my Syrian heritage!  Is that a good enough reason white male oppressor?!  *spits on desk* I'll be getting ready for my match now. *storms out of the office and slams the door*

CB: Actually I wanted to know if you could help me get past the 5th level of my game... white male oppressor?

*Berry goes back to playing his game, albeit with a puzzled look on his face as we fade to commercial*
*As we come back from commercial we see Sheik Sabu Farhat already standing in the ring waiting for his opponent to be announced.  Suddenly we hear a familiar "HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" over the PA System*

Ring Announcer: And his opponent, from Glenn Falls, New York, weighing in at 280lbs... "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN!

*The crowd gives a big pop as Duggan appears on the ramp with an American flag and 2-by-4.  Sabu doesn't seem amused and is more ready than ever to get it on*
"Sheik" Sabu Farhat vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan

Sabu started out quick and hard, attacking Duggan before the bell and not giving an inch.  After a couple of strikes Sabu pointed to the ceiling and hit a slingshot legdrop on the downed Duggan.  Sabu left the ring and returned with a chair.  He set it up a little in front of Duggan, ran into the ropes and jumped off it with a legdrop for a two count.  Duggan tried to strike Sabu in the stomach, but Sabu blocked his attempt and gave him a couple shots of his own.  He put Duggan in a side headlock, but after a couple seconds Duggan turned it into a big back suplex and got a two count of his own.  Sabu got back on top of things and worked on Duggan's knees with a couple kicks and dropkicks.  He whipped Duggan into the ropes, ducked a clothesline and hit a big flying clothesline of his own.  He went to the corner where the ref had earlier disposed of the chair to and laid it flat in the middle of the ring.  He picked up Duggan and hit a piledriver that looked to turn the Hacksaw into Jell-O.  He wasn't done though, as he hit a couple of shots to the groin on the prone Duggan.  Obviously the referee Bud Sims was letting a lot go tonight.  Sabu went over to the corner where the Syrian flag was sitting and jawed at some of the fans a little bit.  All the while Duggan was starting to gain his barrings.  Sabu turned around and like a shot out of no where Duggan hit the three point stance!  He was still too hurt to capitalize though and both men lay on the ground for a little bit.  Sabu was the first to stir and went right back to work on Duggan.  Sabu continued to work on Duggan and eventually slapped on the Camel Clutch, but before Duggan could submit he released it.  He once again grabbed the chair and set it up, this time hitting the Triple Jump Moonsault.

Sabu Farhat pinned Jim Duggan with the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:07:47.
Rating: * 1/2

After the match Sabu continued his vicious assault on Duggan, using the Syrian flag as a weapon.  After quite a bit of damage had been done and Duggan looked to be bloody and hurt quite badly Jerry Lynn's music hits followed by Lynn himself like a bat out of hell.  He hit the ring, but Sabu left before Lynn could get to him.  They jawed at each other as Sabu made his way to the back and Lynn attended to Duggan.  We've just learned that a new match has been signed for Tribulation.  Jerry Lynn will be facing Sabu Farhat in a barbed wire match!

Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Lance Storm

This match was the unveiling of the final two participants in the battle royal for the brand spanking new Lightweight title.  We already know that the match will feature Paul London, Mikey Batts, Shark Boy, Scott Vick, Kid Kash, Superstar Steve, and now we know that in addition to those six men, we'll see Scotty 2 Hotty and Lance Storm in there as well.  The match had a lot of back and forth and it looked like either man could take it at anytime.  Storm seemed to get a bit bigger of a reaction from the crowd, but he also was pulling off a lot more technical moves and counters.  Scotty took a lot of time to dance when he probably shouldn't have and more often than not it cost him.  Through the early portions of the match the crowd gave a couple of chants for the Worm when Scotty was in the driver seat, but he never got a chance to actually give them what they wanted.  He did manage to get a really close fall with a big German suplex though.  Towards the middle of the match Scotty finally got a chance to hit the Worm, and he did... almost.  On Scotty's way down Lance amazingly grabbed his arm and rolled into a Fujiwara.  Storm almost took Scotty's head clean off with a superkick, but Scotty just barely ducked it and managed to hit a leg lariat right after.  This time Scotty couldn't keep control and after an attempt as a hiptoss, Storm shoved Scotty away and hit the superkick he missed earlier and pinned him.

Lance Storm pinned Scotty 2 Hotty with the Superkick in 0:20:27.

*Hardcore Holly's music hits and he makes his way to the ring to fair amount of boos due to what transpired last week*

Hardcore Holly: Yeah, yeah, boo me all you want.  I know you won't believe me, but I didn't injure Haas on purpose last week.  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that sack of crap is on the self for a while and I'm really glad that I'm the one that put him there.  It just goes to show that I'm a legitimate bad ass.  I'm the toughest S.O.B. in the DCW and it looks like I've got a nice little day off this Sunday.  So I'm gonna go to San Antonio, sit back, have a beer, and laugh at how I injured Charlie Haas.

*He begins to laugh, but is interrupted by "Song 2" by Blur along with the entrance of President Berry*

Chris Berry: Hardcore, this is wrestling, injuries happen.

HH: *smiling* You're damn right they do

CB: And unfortunately Haas was going to be your opponent this Sunday.

HH: What's your point Berry?

CB:  Well, just that it did look like you were going to have a day off Sunday.

HH: *in an unamused tone* What to you mean... "did look like"?

CB: Well... it did look like it... until I booked you in a new match.  One against someone who will want to challenge you're claim to be the toughest S.O.B. in DCW... Dan "The Beast" Severn!

*Dan Severn's music hits and he appears at the top of the ramp.  He and and an angry Hardcore Holly exchange words from their respective positions as we go to commercial*
*As we come back we see the ring set up with a definite Scottish theme.  There is a small round table in the ring with a set of bagpipes sitting on it and plaid all over.  Then the bag pipes start to play over the PA, followed by the crowd going just about ape poopy for "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.*

Roddy Piper: *after waiting for the cheers to stop*  Are ya happy to see me?  *cheers start again*  Well, I'm going to get right down to business.  It's been a while since I've done this so forgive me if it doesn't have that same Piper flair to it.  Tonight I Have a very, uh, 'special' guest.  I've had many a run-in with his father and it appears that old family habits die hard.  Let's bring him out here.  Solo Snuka.

*Solo's music hits and he makes his way to the ring*

RP: Solo... *chuckles*.. last week, I was just sitting at ringside, minding my own business when out of no where you seem to have a problem with me.  You come over to me and stare a whole through me and all the while I'm just wonderin' what kind of problem does this kid have with me?  I didn't do nothin' to him.  Then you attacked me.  For no reason.  And fellow, you barked up the wrong tree with that one, let me tell you.  All night I'm trying to figure it out.  What did you hit me I said to myselt, why did you hit me.  Then like a ton of bricks it hits me.  Solo Snuka wants to be just like his father.  You want to be the next Jimmy Snuka.  Well let me tell you something, I've had my differences with your father in the past but I can tell you one thing for sure... you sir, are no Jimmy Snuka!

*With that Solo gets an extremely pissed off look on his face and starts yelling things at Piper.  Piper just stands there and smirks, not saying a word.  Finally Solo winds back and hits Piper with a big right hand that turns Piper around.  Solo continues his barage of words as Piper seems to give a bit of a chuckle and he checks his mouth for blood.  At this point he's leaning with one hand on the table with the bagpipe.  It looks like Piper is reaching under tha bagpipes.  He turns around and lays out Snuka with a coconut to the head!  Snuka is out cold!  The bagpipe music flares up over the PA as the crowd goes nuts.*

RP: This Sunday at Tribulation I'm gonna teach you the lesson that your father never taught you.  You don't mess with Roddy Piper!

Jerry Lynn vs. "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer

Somewhat of an ECW reunion match, that more likely than not, was going to go a little beyond the limits of the rules in regards to weapons, though surprisingly, saw nothing illegal happen at all.  This match was definitely high impact though.  Things started off with a spinebuster from Dreamer right off the bat for two, then while complaining about a slow count Lynn used an inside cradle on Dreamer for a two count of his own.  Shortly after Lynn tried for a snap suplex, but Dreamer countered with a small package for two.  Then Dreamer tried for a snap suplex and Lynn countered with a small package for two.  Lynn got another two count right afterwards with a short lariat.  Things looked grim for Jerry Lynn after missing a running somersault plancha, but managed to get back in the swing of things after turning over onto Dreamer when he attempted a back suplex and got  a two count.  Lynn hit a devistating tombstone on the floor while Dreamer and Lynn were battling on the outside.  After being rolled back in the ring Dreamer made a little comeback though, with an inverted atomic drop that almost flowed right into a russian legsweep.  Lynn wouldn't be out done though, getting two counts after a top-rope frankesteiner, then a northern lights suplex.  Then hitting the Cradle Piledriver.  Dreamer did manage to kick, but it was too late.

Jerry Lynn pinned Tommy Dreamer with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:08:05.

Dan "The Beast" Severn vs. Kevin Nash

Both of these men are probably fighting to keep this encounter in the front of their mind instead of thinking about their upcoming pay-per-view matches against Hardcore Holly and John Cena respectively.  Severn and Nash had a lot of back and forth, Severn with holds and the occasional suplex, Nash with brawling and power moves.  Even when Severn would put on a submission that worked the knees, Nash held in there despite his past knee problems.  Eventually Nash got frusterated at started in with the chokes and choke lifts, letting each go before the ref could have reason to DQ him.  Severn managed to block two Jackknife Powerbomb attempts.  Severn never tried to go for his finisher, he would mostly just try and work the knees and legs with holds.  Nash goes for the big boot, but Severn ducks!  He hits referee Dwain Cross!  Cross is out!  Severn hits Nash with a belly-to-belly suplex!  Now Severn is attending to Cross, trying to revive him.  But whats this?  Someones running down to the ring!  It's... Bestia Salvaje?!  What's he doing down here?  He's got a chair with him!  He slides into the ring, Severn turns around, and Bestia levels Severn with the chair.  Bestia's heading back up the ramp as Nash gets up.  He looks around a little, then picks up Severn and hits the Jackknife.  Dwain Cross crawls over for the three.

Kevin Nash pinned Dan Severn with the Jackknife Power Bomb in 0:10:53.
Rating: -1/4*
[Bestia Salvaje interfered against Dan Severn.]

*After the match the camera cuts out for our final commercial break*
*As we come back we see Nash entering his locker room.  He appears to be limping and is definitely feeling the effects of his match with Severn.  Jon Heidenreich is already in there and he's looking through the pamphlet Cena gave him last week.  As soon as Nash comes in, he tries to hide it.*

Kevin Nash: What was that Jon?  Huh?  Give me that! *takes it away from him again* Damn it Jon, I thought I tossed this in the trash last week where it belongs.  Did you take it out of the garbage?

Jon Hedienreich: Well, I just wanted...

KN:  What?  You just wanted what?  I don't want you talking to Cena anymore.  I don't want to see you with this garbage anymore.  Whatever you think you'd get out of this is all bull Jon, it's bull.  Don't be more of an idiot that you already are.  *crumples pamphlet again* Now I don't want to see this ever again, do you hear me?  Just concetrate on helping me win my match with Cena Sunday.  Think you can handle that?

*Kevin Nash leaves the locker room.  Heidenreich exactly look happy, but he has kind of a distant look on his face*

Main Event: The Flock (Raven & Abyss) vs. "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs & Ludvig Borga

This was the match everyone had been waiting for all night.  Jimmy Jacobs started things off, it looked like Raven was going to until Borga left the ring, then Raven told Abyss to start instead, as he didn't want to face Jimmy.  Abyss pretty much dominated Jimmy.  Jacobs was giving up a lot of weight to the Monster.  Jacobs actually managed to get out of a backbreaker attempt though and tagged in Borga, who went at Abyss like a shot, taking him down with a tackle and laying in with hard rights.  Borga even got Abyss up in the torture rack, though it was only about a second before Abyss wiggled out and hit Borga with a hard lariat.  He tagged out to Raven and hit a big boot on Borga before leaving the ring.  Raven started in on Borga pretty confidently, but Borga managed to fight back and tagged out to Jacobs.  This got a big ovation from the crowd.  Jimmy went in with a fury of punches, hit a big boot, hussed around and hit a big legdrop.  It didn't take much time though before Raven scrambled over to Abyss to make a tag.  Abyss wore down Jacobs and when Jimmy was sufficiently damaged, Raven tagged himself back in.  Eventually the fight degenerated a bit when Raven hit the Raven Effect and went to pin Jacobs.  Borga ran in, but Abyss beat him to it and speared Borga right out of the ring.  Jimmy managed to kick out on his own though at just about 2.9.  Borga and Abyss continued brawling on the outside and Jimmy and Raven on the inside.  Jimmy started to get the ball rolling in his favor.  Until getting hit with another Raven Effect.  Raven didn't go for the pin this time.  He turned his attention to Abyss and Borga on the outside just long enough for Jimmy to come to, grab Jacobs and roll him up.  Unfortunately, in Jacobs tired state, when he bridged back he had his shoulders on the mat too.

[Main Event]
Jimmy Jacobs and Ludvig Borga and The Flock (Abyss and Raven) battled to a double pin in 0:32:10.
Rating: ****

After the match Raven couldn't believe that he lost.  He grabbed Jimmy for the Raven Effect, but Jimmy shoves him off!  He grabs Raven.  CONTRA CODE!  Abyss forgets about Borga and pulls Raven out of the ring.  Jimmy grabs a mic.

Jimmy Jacobs: Raven!  We've already got a match this weekend at Tribulation, but given what happened last time, let's make it interesting.  Since you seemed to enjoy shaving my boots so much, let's make this Sunday's match... Hair vs. Hair!

*this gets a big pop from the crowd as Jimmy's music hits and the show ends with hurt Raven at the top of the ramp and a hurt Jacobs in the ring*

Is Solo Snuka going to slap Yao Ming too!?

Thank God Konnan lost.  You don't realize how happy you make me every time he jobs.  Plus, I like Garrison Cade a lot, so it's double good this time.

You should really stop being a white male oppressor, Chris.  Try being a wite female oppressor for awhile.

Is Duggan under contract to DCW?  I sure hope not. :)  Sabu predictability wins, Jerry Lynn unpredictably saves.  Barbed wire match, eh?  Should be good, but seems a little early in this feud for such a gory match.

Hrm... dunno if I like Lance Storm being a Lightweight.  Scotty 2 Hotty is a good choice, but Storm just seems like he should be a higher player than that.  Good debut match for both of them though.

Hardcore Holly doesn't get the night off after all!  He better crush Severn though.  We should be training with him right now, you know. :)

Cool little Piper's Pit segment, except for the fact that we have to watch Piper wrestle a match now. :)

Lynn beats Dreamer, as well he should.

Nash needed help to beat Severn?  Ouch.  And what beef does Salvaje have with the Beast?  Intriguing...

Double pin!  TNM world needs more Ludvig Borga.

PREDICTIONS!

Abyss vs. Ludvig Borga

*** Abyss!

Dan Severn vs. Hardcore Holly

*** Holly!

Roddy Piper vs. Solo Snuka

*** Snuka!

Barbed-wire Match: Sabu Farhat vs. Jerry Lynn

Kevin Nash (w/Jon Heidenreich) vs. John Cena

*** Cena!

DCW World Tag Team title match: The Dudley Boys vs. The Assassins (c)

Nope, he's not.  Just the obligatory "America-Hater-Destroys-America-Loving-Legend" match.
Barbed wire match, eh?  Should be good, but seems a little early in this feud for such a gory match.
Yeah, it's kind of early, but I figured given their ECW heritage that I'd give them a little something extra to work with.
Hrm... dunno if I like Lance Storm being a Lightweight.  Scotty 2 Hotty is a good choice, but Storm just seems like he should be a higher player than that.  Good debut match for both of them though.
Just because he's in the match doesn't mean that he will be bogged down in the Lightweight division, unless of course he wins the title.  He's lucky, he's just at the division limits for weight too.
He better crush Severn though.  We should be training with him right now, you know. :)
Arg!  I know!  And it kills me that we're not!  *dies*
Cool little Piper's Pit segment, except for the fact that we have to watch Piper wrestle a match now. :)
lol, you'll live.  I had to do the coconut bit.  Piper hitting Jimmy Snuka with the coconut was such a classic wrestling moment.  It needed to be relived with his son.
Nash needed help to beat Severn?  Ouch.  And what beef does Salvaje have with the Beast?  Intriguing...
Nash didn't i]need/i] help to beat Severn.  I have a feeling that you'll be surprised at the PPV. ;D
