Oh God, I nearly lost it ALL when my TNM went to pot. For a brief period, every database (including the circuit database) was empty. As luck would have it, I was able to get it all back, bar all my notes. Oh well, no harm done...

Eddie Guerrero pinned Essa Rios with the Frog Splash in 0:06:28.
Rating: *** 1/4

A mixed day for Los Guerreros kicked off with Eddie Guerrero against Essa Rios.
Eddie kicked things off with a quick interview concerning Low Ki, stating he
had a little plan in mind which would involve his brothers (quite possibly
Chavos lying, Hectors cheating and Mandos stealing). On this night, no lying
or cheating or stealing was needed for Eddie to record a win. Could we be
looking at the next cruiserweight champion perhaps?

Doug Furnas & Phil Lafon (Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon), Larry Zbyszko and Kurt An
gle defeated
Psychoanalysis (Brian Pillman and Sean O'Haire), Devon Storm and Rob Van Dam
when Angle pinned O'Haire with the Olympic Slam in 0:14:33.
Rating: **** 1/4

Kurt Angle very much got a little payback of sorts for the defeat he suffered
last week in tag team action against Sean O'Haire. Somewhat embarassing as it
was, the chance was there for revenge in an eight man tag. Once again, Angle
made the wise decision of linking up with Larry Zbyszko and the team was made
even stronger by the addition of two time former tag champs Doug Furnas and
Phil LaFon. Opposite them, the tag team champions of Sean O'Haire and Brian
Pillman, Devon Storm and Angles opponent this Sunday Rob Van Dam. Both RVD and
Sean O'Haire have ideas of revenge on Angle after Angle cost them their World
Cup of Wrestling match last month at Ultimate Annihlation, and concentrated
their efforts on the Olympic Champion. Brian Pillman seemed slightly
preoccupied meanwhile, clearly with mind on Billy Kidman - more on that in due
course. It was the inevitable eight man brawl which led us to the finish, with
Angle taking advantage of all the distractions and Olympic Slamming Sean
O'Haire who had just taken a big dropkick from Doug Furnas to get the pin.
Angle didn't hang around either, quickly running out to celebrate his win.

Chris Jericho defeated Alex Wright by disqualification in 0:10:31.
Rating: *** 1/4

Chris Jerichos final match before having a crack at Brad Armstrongs
Intercontinental Title this Sunday was against Alex Wright, one of the toughest
guys in the DWF when he's not resorting to hiding behind bodyguard Ulf Hermann.
Still, Jericho was the strongest in the match. Sure, Wright was far from a
pushover, but there's a reason Jericho is a former world champion and he
looked to be on a winning role after trapping Wright in the Lion Tamer until
Ulk ran in for a blatant DQ. The two Germans quickly went to work on Jericho
until Brad Armstrong himself ran to the ring with a steel chair in hand.
Wright quickly bailed, while Hermann stood strong until Wright called for him
to exit as well. It looked as if Brad had made the save as he stood by the
fallen Jericho until "The Rock" dropped the chair onto Jerichos head and
delivered the Peoples Elbow. 1-0 Armstrong, for now at least.

Wright meanwhile will be hoping for more luck this Sunday against Dynamite Kid
who was advised by doctors not to be here tonight after making an early return
last week to threaten Wright. Dynamite is another former champion on the same
sort of level as Jericho, so Wright will need to be at his best. The deciding
factor though may just be the huge Ulf Hermann at ringside...

Don Muraco pinned Test with the Tombstone in 0:05:01.
Rating: ***

Jerry Lynn takes one more step to the biggest challenge of his career when he
squares off against Don Muraco at Retribution in a title defense that many
feel will finally see Muraco fulfill his potential and capture the worlds
heavyweight title. Don Muraco was in action today, one last warmup match before
Retribution, against Test. Test is a veteran of the DWF, a former television
champion and one of the biggest in the DWF. Right now though, Muraco looks
even more unstoppable than ever before and Test didn't stand a chance. Barely
getting a look in, Muraco plowed through him in just five minutes and finished
him off without even breaking a sweat. Lynn will be doing well to go much past
that.

Bobby Eaton and John Cena defeated The Mean Street Posse (Pete Gas and Rodney)
when J. Cena pinned Gas with the Eighth Deadly Sin in 0:03:29.
Rating: * 1/2

Steve Corinos television title is in some serious jeopardy. Having held it
since Wrestlefest, he was notching up a decent run but there may be trouble
ahead. Having been warned ahead of his match last week not to use his cast to
aid him, and then having done so, Matt Hardy had a suitable punishment for him.
Two men who have crossed paths with Corino this year, John Cena and Bobby
Eaton, were put forward as challengers for Corino by Matt Hardy. Corino was not
best pleased at this one, but it was about to get much worse, as Hardy told him
of a second stipulation - the belt would be on the line in a tag team match. If
Corinos team wins, he retains the belt, but if either Eaton or Cena score a
pinfall on either Corino or his partner, they take the title. Corino was even
more angry, and it was about to get worse as it walked a cloak wearing, candle
holding Paul Roma, who promised Corino he'd be the best and most evil partner
ever.

If this wasn't all bad enough for Corino, let's remember Cena and Eaton were
briefly tag team champions a few years back so they have double the advantage,
and demonstrated they haven't lost much of that understanding as they warmed
up against Paul Romas followed, The Mean Street Posse. In no time, the REAL
evil of the DWF, John Cena, had the win. Should the same thing happen this
Sunday, we'd have a new champion. Remember - if either Corino or Roma get the
win, Corino retains, but if either Cena or Eaton scores the fall, we have a new
champion.

Billy Kidman pinned Jody Fleisch with the Shooting Star Press in 0:07:38.
Rating: **** 1/4

Matt Hardys sole aim these days as commissioner seems to be to make Jody
Fleisch unhappy. How far a man can fall - a few months ago, weeks even, Hardy
was a very popular commissioner but his obsession and bitterness have driven
away many of his fans, while Jody Fleisch has gotten a little sympathy. With
Fleisch refereeing the Kidman/Pillman match this Sunday, and Fleisch having
already on the receiving end of a thrashing from Pillman, Hardy made the next
logical step and put Fleisch up against Kidman. Kidman was, until a few weeks
ago, the worlds champion and was the obvious favourite. Fleisch meanwhile has
been beaten from pillar to post the last couple of weeks, by Brian Pillman and
a very ungrateful Don Muraco, and Kidman was no exception. No cheating, no
chicanery, just a straight victory to remind us why Kidman got to where he is.
Fleisch limped away afterwards, quite the broken man. Kidman meanwhile looks
ahead to his match this Sunday to Brian Pillman, though he certainly isn't
looking forward as Pillmans own personal obsessions of causing the guy some
serious harm remain at the forefront of both their minds.

Masato Tanaka pinned Hector Guerrero with the Diamond Dust in 0:06:40.
Rating: *** 1/2

Less lucky in the Guerrero clan was Hector as he squared off against Masato
Tanaka at just the wrong time. Tanaka has been quiet since he beat Chris Benoit
a while back but has been racking up a fairly consistent run of victories. Next
in his path, Hector Guerrero, and it was a pretty decent little affair, as the
two exchanged a few near falls whilst keeping the pace high. Frankly, both men
looked like they could have kept it up longer, but Masato isn't out to keep
things going a long time, and caught Hector with the Diamond Dust out of
nowhere for the win. At this rate, Masato has got to be in line for some more
title shots.

Jerry Lynn pinned Dean Malenko with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:11:25.
Rating: **** 1/4

We certainly can't count Jerry Lynn out this Sunday - Muraco has been defeated before, most
of those rare occassions being when his temper has gotten the better of him for
a DQ and that one pinfall loss to Raven, and of course if ANYBODY could defeat
Muraco, it would be Jerry Lynn, the man who held the world title over a year
first time out. Squaring off against old rival Dean Malenko in a non title
match, Lynn showed exactly why he is world champion. Not that Malenko was a
push-over, he stayed in there tooth and nail, but Lynns ability to exploit
every little weakness and turn it into an advantage came through to score a
decisive victory. Muraco doesn't seem to be impressed by the undeniable ability
that Lynn possesses, an almost psychotic quality to his wrestling, but he best
not be too complacent this Sunday if he intends to become the new world
champion.
