SCHOOL OF HARD KNOX - MARCH 12 2005
Shaun Sindelman | Posted on 02/15/05 at 05:46:28 SCHOOL OF HARD KNOX - BEST OF THE BEST DATE: MARCH 12 2005 LOCATION: AMAZURA BALLROOM - JAMAICA, QUEENS, NY This event was referred to as "Best of the Best" because Real Xtreme and America's Most Wanted were both looking to prove just that as they faced off in a rematch from last month. We also discovered at the top of the evening that some other people were looking to prove they were the BEST OF THE BEST as well, namely Raven. Interview: Confrontation between Raven Douglas and Benoit Raven came out to the ring to express his frustration over being pinned in last month's triangle match. He went on to say that he is still out to prove that he is the better man out of the three we saw in the ring during last month's main event. He proceeded to issue a challenge to Chris Benoit & Shane Douglas to face him in singles matches. This brought Shane Douglas out to the ring, followed by Benoit as well. Shane and Benoit had some words for each other but then they came to an agreement about what Raven said. They decided that Raven's challenge WAS a great idea, and challenged each other as well. The HARD KNOX offices sent word to the ring that a round robin competition would occur over the course of the evening between Raven, Chris Benoit, and Shane Douglas. They said Raven would face Chris Benoit right now and the other matches would be set up as the evening unfolded. Raven throws Chris Benoit into the turnbuckle.Raven pinned Chris Benoit with the Raven Effect in 0:12:13. Rating: *** 1/4 In our opening bouth, Raven and Benoit put on a great match to start off the round robin competition. This puts the scoring at: Raven 1-0 Chris Benoit 0-1 Shane Douglas 0-0 Next up - Two tag teams get a tryout with SCHOOL OF HARD KNOX. Winner will be considered for a contract. They're brawling inside the ring area.Scott Starring and Van Wild defeated La Resistance (Rob Conway and Sylvain Grenier) when Starring pinned Grenier after a flying forearm in 0:05:58. Rating: ** 1/2 Van Wild & Scott Starring faced against La Resistance in a tag team tryout match. Wild & Starring pleased the HARD KNOX back offices very much and they will most likely be given a contract. On a side note, Real Xtreme who have a history with Wild & Starring were watching this match VERY carefully. Up next - Johnny Ace faces the newest hire to replace Josh Prohbition, Shannon Moore. Johnny Ace executes a gutwrench suplex on Shannon Moore.Johnny Ace pinned Shannon Moore with the Implant DDT in 0:10:28. Rating: ** 3/4 Johnny Ace gets another win against Shannon Moore who was signed last month after Josh Prohibition chose to no-show last month's debut event. Moore put up a good fight but unfortunately, Ace was the veteran. Coming up - The FBI faces Christopher St. Connection as CSC tries to prove that Malenko was the cause for their loss last month. Mase whips Johnny Stamboli into the ropes.Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli defeated The Christopher Street Connection (Buff-E and Mase) when Palumbo pinned Mase with the Jungle Kick in 0:21:24. Rating: ** 1/2 With a HARD KNOX official refereeing this match, Christopher St Connection felt they had a better chance at gaining a victory. They held Palumbo and Stamboli at bay for an entire 20 minute time limit and the referee was fair enough to allow the contest to continue. One and a half minutes later, the victory went with The FBI. Next up - the second of three matches in the round robin competition. This time, Chris Benoit faces Shane Douglas. Chris Benoit throws Shane Douglas out of the ring.Chris Benoit made Shane Douglas submit to the Crippler Crossface in 0:20:43. Rating: **** After losing earlier in the evening to Raven, Chris Benoit had something to prove and that is EXACTLY what he did. After the time limit expired, the referee declared that a winner must be decided and gave both men 6 more minutes. Benoit only needed 43 more seconds to surprise Douglas with a Crippler Crossface and get him to submit. Next up - the rematch between America's Most Wanted and Real Xtreme. Both men are still claiming they are the better tag team and intend to win this match to prove it. Lance Williams and James Storm lock up.Real Xtreme (James Robinson and Lance Williams) defeated America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) when Robinson made Storm submit to the torture rack in 0:04:37. Rating: *** Real Xtreme tore America's Most Wanted apart and got a quick victory in four and a half minutes. Their win was aided by the help of their manager, Marty Lyons and a well timed chain shot to Chris Harris' head. Up next - tag team 3 way dance as BJ Whitmer and Rhyno tag up again to face off against Chris Sabin & Mohammed Yone and The Suicide Kings. Despair takes BJ Whitmer down with a kick to the chest. Triangle Match: BJ Whitmer and Rhyno defeated Chris Sabin and Mohammed Yone and Despair and Spikyjim: x Whitmer beat Despair via a flying cross body press in 0:21:24 x Rhyno beat M. Yone via the Gore in 0:34:04 Rating: ** 3/4 The heat between Chris Sabin and The Suicide Kings has still not died down as Sabin feels he hasn't gotten the decisive victory he is seeking. He did get a bit of happiness watching Despair & Spikyjim get eliminated by the team of BJ Whitmer and Rhyno. The offices of SCHOOL OF HARD KNOX are keeping a close eye on Whitmer and Rhyno as one of the top teams developing in the promotion. Coming up - the third and final match of the round robin competition. So far Raven is 1 and 0 while Benoit & Douglas each have 1 win and 1 loss. Can Raven seal the deal and walk away with two wins or will Shane Douglas even it up and cause each participant to have the same 1 win and 1 loss record? Shane Douglas executes a faceslam on Raven.No-Time-Limit-Match: Shane Douglas pinned Raven with the Franchiser in 0:16:11. Rating: **** 1/4 Tonight's round robin contest has settled NOTHING as each man got a win. HARD KNOX officials are working on a way to truly see who is the best of the best between these three men. Best of the Best (Final Standings) ================================== 3 way tie for 1st place. Raven 5 ( 1: 1: 0) Shane Douglas 5 ( 1: 1: 0) Chris Benoit 5 ( 1: 1: 0) Card rating: *** 1/4 Next Month: * 3 Way Dance Real Xtreme vs America's Most Wanted vs BJ Whitmer/Rhyno Real Xtreme won their match over America's Most Wanted but AMW is claiming that Real Xtreme had to cheat to win. Thus, another match will occur next month between the two teams BUT another team will be involved as well. Van Wild & Scott Starring noticed Real Xtreme standing in the aisle during the match and have asked to be in this matchup. *Chris Sabin will be in action against a mystery opponent *Johnny Ace will face Shannon Moore in a triangle match with Chris Hamrick as the third participant. *Shane Douglas will face off against a new signee who is known for making quite an impact on the wrestling business. * Dean Malenko is asking for a tag match against The Christopher St. Connection. Malenko has promised to bring a SUITABLE partner for this match. * Raven will also be in action against a new signee as well * Chris Benoit will be in a 4 way dance against Mohammed Yone, Despair and Chuck Palumbo *NWA TNA X DIVISION superstar Christopher Daniels has agreed to appear on the card. |
americamamushi | Posted on 02/15/05 at 06:53:57 Raven opens things up with a HUGE win against Benoit. Big surprise. No, seriously :) 'M' Key must translate to "La Resistance" in french. And you thought that "La Resistance" was already in french. ;) Johnny Ace sunk Moore's battleship. What a nice way to start off a career in a new federation. Mase+Jungle Kick=JOB! Benoit takes it to Shane for a come back, Not the pressure is on Shane big time. Either he beats Raven and no one wins or Raven beats him and totally hoes the ECW crowd. Good win for Real XTreme, now they can tangle with the newbie team they were eye-ballin' Bah, Sabin wasn't even involved in the SK fall. THIS SOLVES NOTHING! I DEMAND VENGENCE! :) Whitmer & Rhyno dominated though. Force to be reckoned with! BAH AGAIN! This solves nothing! :D I smell triple threat! *sniff, sniff* Predictions AMW will pull it out next week in the triple threat. Sabin will DESTROY the 'M' Key, which will of course be La Resistance.;) Ace will win again. Douglas will lose to this new guy. Christopher Street will get the big DUBYA over Malenko and <INSERT PARTNER NAME HERE> Raven will beat his opponent, thought possibly just barely. He proved something tonight against Benoit, so I think he'll continue on that. Benoit will win the 4-way, unless Mace isn't the only answer for the equation a+Jungle Kick=JOB. If Variable A can also mean Benoit, then Palumbo might pull out the win. Solve for X. |

No, seriously :)Hehe - gotta agree with ya on that one. Haha - Johnny Ace is the resident welcoming party of HARD KNOX i guess. The veteran who schools the newbies. =) OH YEA! That Jungle Kick is deadly. Well we all know how THAT ended up. Real Xtreme and VW/Starring have quite the history - should be entertaining to see what happens between them. FYI - the history between them is that Marty Lyons and RX put Scott Starring on the shelf awhile back and while Starring was away, Van Wild ended up going singles and becoming the RPW world champion. When Starring returned, RX played mind games with him by claiming that Van Wild told them to take care of Starring so that he could get ahead. Yea - the Whitmer/Rhyno team is definitely the big thing to come out of that 3 way match. As for Sabin, he's gotta come up with something better or else admit defeat. triple threat happened already on the first card and look what THAT got us. =) |
