Favorite Cards?

TerryFunkaPosted on 02/13/05 at 05:06:14

Just wondering out of all your circuits what was your favorite card and lineup of your circuit?

I think my best card was either my GAB 2001 or BATB 2001.  If you take out using me as an announcer and put in a wrestler (probably would use someone like Larry Zybszko or maybe even Chris Jericho) I think that BATB was an awesome card.  It can be found at:

http://www.geocities.com/gene_bennett/batb2001.html

A quick review was that the Dudley Boys were facing Sting/Booker T/Scott Steiner in an elimination cage match where as you were defeated you were handcuffed to the cage.  The winners would beat on the losers for five minutes.

Also on the show was:

Rhino vs. Vader w/ Vader's career on the line

Tony Mamaluke vs. Jamie Noble

Ray Traylor/Brian Christopher vs. Disqo/Steve Blackman in a hardcore match

Owen Hart/Lance Storm vs. Danny Doring/Roadkill

Shane Douglas vs. William Regal vs. Bill DeMott

Gangrel/Vampiro vs. Undertaker/Big Show in a graveyard match

Chris Candido vs. Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Lash LeRoux

Little Guido vs. Kanyon

Ric Flair vs. Arn Anderson vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Curt Henning in a battle of the Horsemen

Like I say I think this circuit was good till I tried the WCW vs. WWF vs. ECW stuff.  Got to be too big and too much.  Also I wish I would have used someone other then "Gene Bennett" as the announcer character.  I think it was good stuff though.

Not to blow my own trumpet, but I think Wrestlefest VII was a really good culmination on how my circuit has shaped. And since you're requesting lineups, that went as follows...

Raven (c) vs Billy Kidman (worlds heavyweight title)

Sean O'Haire (c) vs "Unnecessarily Evil" John Cena vs Devon Storm vs ??The Rock?? (intercontinental title)

Rock'n'Roll Express (c) vs Pretty Perfect (tag team titles)

Bobby Eaton (c) vs Steve Corino (television title)

Kid Kash (c) vs Low Ki (cruiserweight title)

Jerry Lynn vs Don Muraco

Lance Storm vs Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit (Pride of Canada tournament decider)

Dynamite Kid vs Kurt Angle
Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs Eddie Guerrero
Matt Hardy vs Jody Fleisch
Rob Van Dam vs Masato Tanaka
Edge & Christian vs Doug Furnas & Phil LaFon
Brian Pillman vs Dean Malenko
Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Juventus Guerrera
Scott Putski vs Paul Roma

And a battle royal for good measure. The card can be found below.

Also, I think my Royal Rumbles are always pretty good, but I'm not sure one really stands out above the others specifically.

I'm still wanting to see some back cards from you, 91.  The earliest stuff I've been able to read of yours was from the Kapoutland forums.  Don't be a meanie.

The reason I've always put it off is because the circuit was never originally designed to be anything but something I did for myself in my spare time - by that, the early stuff that wasn't posted on the net really reflects this as it's quite irritating to follow a lot of individual shows, even for me.

Still, if you ask REALLY nicely, I'll E-Mail you the HTML stuff, just expect a few lines (paragraphs...) on what everything means and why so much of it seems disjointed, especially with interviews being in the wrong place on PPV's, and one PPV which suffered from the "random TNM crashing and fucking everything up" syndrome. :)

I'd love to read through your disjointed carnage.  It would give me a true reflection as to how the twisted mind of 91 from England operates.

Neither of which I can receive. :(

Didn't know you lived in England, 91.. I do too... its a lot of wrestling here.. even small shows held at pubs are worth seeing in my opinion.. I am just too bummed about missing the show when Samoa Joe comes over..

Favorite card? I think I just ran it.. it was the second supercard for the GWA Umbrella Fed I'm running, and  it contained:

* A 6 man tournament for the vacant GWA Heavyweight Title, featuring Shane Douglas, the Rock, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Masahiro Chono, Chris Benoit and Edge
* Chris Jericho vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the GWA International Title
* Megumi Kudo vs Precious Lucy in a First Blood Match
* A 9 Man Cruiserweight Eliminaton Match for the GWA Cruiserweight Title
* Vader vs Mike Awesome in 3 Stages of Hell
* Scott Steiner vs Test vs Manabu Nakanishi
* Thundercats (Jyushin Lyger & Tiger Mask IV) vs 3 Live Krew for the GWA Tag Team Titles
* Petey Williams vs Lance Storm in a ladder match for the MWF Heavyweight Title
* Shooter Mark Coleman vs Kurt Angle in a Submission Match

The ratings were just superb and the in-ring action a pleasure to watch. And oh, you can read the results here:

Can we please keep political discussions to a minimum? I come here looking to read results and other TNM related stuff; not to get into a political debate.

Hell 91, if you don't wanna send disjointed cards for fear of tarnishing your reputation for card quality (hehe), maybe if you're up to it, you could write some brief "Year in Review" thing for DWF.  Chronical major angles of the past, little descriptions of title changes, etc.  I'm so intrigued by DWF that I wanna know how it got to where it got from the beginning.  I'm such a mark. :)

Hi there!

Just wanted to add my name to the growing list of people here who are from England.

I did watch British Wrestling in the early 80's (at a very young age - I'm 32), but really became hooked when we started to get WWF in the late 80's (hence my nostalgia on my circuit!).
