GPW Impact 3/3/05 (Week 7)

JustinPosted on 02/10/05 at 15:14:35

This weeks' show opens with Commissioner Steve Rogers coming to the ring.
SR: Afew weeks ago I made the announcement that on March 10 the GPW will hold a 6 man elimination match for the GPW World Heavyweigth Title. I also let be known who the first 4 participants would be; GPW World Heavyweight Champion: Triple H, John Cena, "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton, and Batista. Right now, I'm going to add to that list, becuase, due to his actions last week, all 4 other men have petitioned that Perry Saturn be included. So, that's 5 of the 6 names I promised. Tonight, the sixth & final man will be added. He will be the winner of a special 4 man elimination match later tonight. Those 4 men are: Edge, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, "The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett, and the last man would have been AJ Styles had he not been injured, so as a special replacement the final man will be "Y2J" CHRIS JERICHO! And that's not all, you see after everything that's gone on for the past few weeks, I've desided to break the budget and make next week's main event special. I've spared no expense and come up with the best way to end all the controversy. Next week, the main event will be for the GPW World Heavyweight Title.....inside THE ELIMINATION CHAMBER!
A hype video runs on the big screen for the Elimination Chamber as the commissioner leaves.

Evolution barges into Commissioner Rogers office.
HHH: Who the hell do you think you are Rogers? What gives you the right to make next week an Elimination Chamber?
SR: The fact that I'm the commissioner gives me the right. It also gives me the right to strip you of that title if you don't watch your mouth.
RF: You can't do that! This is Triple H; the greatest wrestler alive today.
SR: you know Ric, I used to respect you. You used to be "the man" and now you're just Triple H's toadie.
RF: How dare you?!!? You little punk, I'm a 16 time World Champion!
SR: That's the fire I want to see. You see, Triple H, not only will you and Batista be in the Elimination Chamber next week, but I've got afew more things for this week involving Evolution. Starting with you, champ. You have the night off tonight so I suggest you get out of my arena. Batista you have a tag match tonight & if you want to keep your spot in the main event next week, you need to go get ready for it.And then there's you, Ric. I'm tired of all the interference and I'm tired of seeing what you've become. So tonight, you hae a chance to regain that former glory. I just got off the phone with Jeff Jarrett and he isn't here tonight, so I have to fill his spot in the 4 man elimination match. That spot will be filled by the winner of a 9 man battle royal and guess what Ric, you're in it. And you have about 5 minutes to get changed & get to the ring.
RF: And if I refuse?
SR: Then you're fired.
Evolution leaves all with worried looks on their faces. Rogers leans back in his chair & smiles.

Card overview:

Match of the night:
4 Man elimination match
Rating: ***3/4

It has been desided; next week will feature the most dangerous match in wrestling: The Elimination Chamber! Can Triple H hold onto the gold? Was Randy Orton's win tonight a foreshadowing of things to come? Will Batista be a team player or strike out on his own? Can John Cena capture the title? What about the wild card; Perry Staurn? The only title he's never had is a World Title. And now Chris Jericho has been added to the mix. Y2J won the 4 man elimination match by eliminating everyone else. Can he repeat that success in the Chamber?

AMW split their singles matches with Kazarian & Shane. Next week they will face The World's Coolest Tag Team as Harris & Storm defend the GPW World Tag Team Title in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

Since Jeff Jarrett & Chris Sabin no-showed tonight's event, as punishment they will not appear next week.

Ric Flair showed some signs of "The Nature Boy" of old in 2 seperate matches tonight. Will he stay as an active competitor and seek a 17th World Title?

Next Week:
The Elimination Chamber: Triple H vs Cena vs Orton vs Batista vs Saturn vs Y2J
AMW defends against The World's Coolest Tag Team
Ric Flair meets Shawn Michaels 1 on 1

Impressive of old man Flair to win the Battle Royal, too bad he didn't win the 4 corner, it would have been interesting to see all of Evolution in the Cage. I'm bummed out by all the no-shows.. Kudos for going with it and finding replacements though. Chris Jericho really impressed me, but I think he will come up short in the Elimination Chamber... which I actually predict Triple H to win  :(

Good job man, hope JJ and Sabin will be back soon.
VertigoPosted on 02/10/05 at 21:39:49

I also agree about the Flair comment. He is the man and one more rise to the top of the mountain would be a great accomplishment.

I'm going to predict Y2J winning the Chamber. I might be out a limb with that prediction, but hey, I'm a fan of the underdogs.

Sabu!!!
