(AJ Styles no-showed.)

AJ Styles no-showed the match and it was revealed that Tazz and Sabu had attacked him right before his entrance.

RVD thought he had the match won by default when we heard "HAIL SABIN!" over the PA and out came CHRIS SABIN - fresh off an injury that put him out of action the last several weeks.

Sabin stuck it to RVD and won the title in the process.

Card rating: *** 1/2

Next week:

Within the last few weeks we've seen some serious grudges between Kazarian and New Jack and the team of Sabu & Tazz. And now with the actions Sabu & Tazz had on AJ Styles right before our main event, he is gunning for them as well as RVD.

SOOO...Our opening match will be a 6 man tag match as the team of Kazarian, New Jack & AJ Styles meets all 3 members of Team Extreme (Sabu, Tazz, and RVD)

Also in action:

Shark Boy & Glen Gilberti vs Konnan/BG James

Chris Hero has issued an open challenge and it has been answered by Kid Kash

James Storm will face Sonny Siaki.
Siaki has demanded to be able to pick the referee to avoid the same embarassment he claims to be subjected to from Brian Hebner earlier this evening.

Amazing Red vs CM Punk

Johnny Swinger vs Ron Killings

and in our main event, AJ Styles will do double duty in 1 night as he teams with Jerry Lynn to defend the tag titles against TEAM CANADA.

I have to say that I really don't like your decision to have Tazz hand over the title to RVD.  Granted, Tazz's style isn't exactly characteristic of the X-Division Title, but him not caring enough about it to not try to defend it followed by RVD losing it the very next week to a substitute for the top contender really hurts the credibility of the X-Divison title a lot in my eyes.  I mean, first Tazz wins the title in a stunning upset.  No problem there.  But he apparently doesn't care about the title and is willing to let RVD (who has lost most of his matches thus far) take the title without even a match.  The bookers (you) don't hold the title in high enough regard to prevent that from happening.  And RVD promptly loses it to someone he wasn't even scheduled to face.

Granted, running unbooked can sometimes do that sort of thing to you, but I really really don't like the way things have worked out and it wouldn't be half as bad if Tazz hadn't handed over the title.  It's going to take some work for the X-Division Title to regain some of its prestige in my eyes.

That's why I feel in a circuit that runs under a one card a week schedule that running unbooked is a bad bad idea.  Title credibility is shot because titles change hands far too much.

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter and definitely agree that i could have handled the situation better.

I WAS planning to have RVD forced to run a gauntlet of defending against all the top X Division guys in one night as punishment for using under handed tactics to gain the title. This would have been the case if RVD had defeated AJ Styles on this card.

Unfortunately, as you saw, AJ no-showed and Sabin gained the title. I thought him winning it would have put the title in a proper light but I guess it hasn't.

*SPOILER*

I've run a few more cards since Week 23 and i'm afraid to say that the X Division title has jumped hands again.

Also agree here which is why i'm glad a ruleset has come out that allows a circuit to be on a 1 card per month basis.

Probably after week 26 when contracts are re-negotiated, i'm going to try a few things to possibly fix my situation and regain some fans, namely Eric. :)
rey619Posted on 01/22/05 at 13:47:56

To come to some sort of defense here, the Ruleset does have a lot of title matches in my opinion, and titles do seem to change hands a lot in unbooked TNM. I have tried to solve this by changing the push value of the challenger, so that it is always 10 below the champion.
This prevents frequent title changes.
You should, of course, be playing with strict pushes..
