TrancePosted on 01/17/05 at 11:42:44

The opening credits roll, as the fireworks, lasers, and pyros go off around the arena. INWA President Marc Ellett is introduced by the ring-side announcer as he makes his way to the ring carrying a briefcase, pausing to greet a few fans along the way. He enters the ring, takes the micro-phone and waits for the crowd to die down)

Marc: Good evening, Chicago, Illinois!

* hometown pop *

Marc: Welcome to the INWA!

* medium pop *

Marc: I know that you're here to see serious ass-kicking wrestling, so I will keep this short and to the point. Tonight, we have an awesome card for you tonight. Tonight we being our Quest for The Gold.... a quest that will be resolved at our first PPV, live from San Francisco, California....aptly named "Gold Rush". Tonight you will see the 1st round of the International Title as well as the 1st match of the.....

* small pop as Marc opens the briefcase and displays a beautiful World Title Belt *

Marc: ..... World Title Tournament. We will have 1 match each week and the winner of each match will face at Gold Rush in a Fatal 4 Way match for the World Championship!

** thunderous pop from the crowd **

Marc: Without any more delay lets get to the action......

* HHH's music plays as The Game enters the ramp with a microphone and a very sour look *

HHH: Did I hear you correct, Ellett? You're going to have a tournament to crown a World Champion at Gold Rush?

Marc: First of all, it's President Ellett, and second, yes you heard me say that there will be a tournament to declare our 1st World Champion

HHH: I don't see why you don't save yourself the head-ache and just hand me the title, and declare me the champion right here, right now. Why delay the un-avoidable?

Marc: This is MY show! You don't just waltz in here, and start making demands of me right off the bat! I am not Vince McMahon. I will not simply hand you the title, just because you said so. Here in the INWA my friend, you will have to earn the title

** huge pop from crowd**

** HHH starts to walk to the ring, glaring at President Ellett ***

Marc: Stop right there, Hunter. If you take as much as one more step, the only way you'll get to Gold Rush is if you buy a ticket, if you catch my drift

*** HHH stops, but continues to glare and sulk ***

Marc: Since you're already fired up, and no sense in letting all that energy go to waste, you have a chance to earn the Title..... you will be taking on Chris Beniot in the first round of the World Title Tournament....

*** HHH throws an absolute fit, right in the middle of the aisle

Marc: So Triple H, I hope you're as good as you talk....because that match is *TONIGHT*

Match 1
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
AJ Styles VS. Abyss

This match went back and forth and for a while, could be considered anybody's match. Abyss risked DQ on several occasions, by applying choke-holds on Styles AJ Styles took it to Abyss outside of the ring and continually rammed Abyss into the ring-post and guard-railing. Abyss had several near-pins, but AJ Styles refused to give up, and somehow found the strength and will to keep on fighting, but in the end it was not enough and Abyss was able to execute the Black Hole and pinned AJ Styles for the victory.

[International Title - Round 1]:
Abyss pinned AJ Styles with the Black Hole in 0:10:53.
Rating: ** 1/2

Match 2
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
Bubba Ray Dudley VS. Animal

This match was all Bubba Ray as he totally demolished Animal. Bubba Ray showed that he was not above taking cheap shots, as he used a baseball bat against Animal, while Paul Heyman conveniently distracted the ref. The referee was inadvertently struck, as Animal collided with him when Bubba Ray threw him into the turnbuckle. Paul Heyman used that to their advantage as he jumped on the ring apron barking orders to Bubba Ray. As the ref still lay unconscious, the standby ref ran to the ring, just in time to count 1...2...3 and raise Bubba Ray's hand in victory

[International Title - Round 1]:
Bubba Ray Dudley pinned Animal after a German suplex in 0:10:19.
Rating: ** 1/2

Match 3
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
Christian VS. Chris Jericho

Christian risks a DQ right off the bat with a blatant chokehold that did not endear him to the fans. Christian tried for a plancha, and wasted too much time posing and show-boating and allowed Chris Jericho to move out of the way, right in time. Chris Jericho took full advantage of the situation and had his way with Christian outside of the ring. By the time they crawled back into the ring, the once pretty-boy Christian was bloody-boy Christian. The momentum shifted back to Christian and he was able to catch Chris Jericho off-guard with a neckbreaker, followed up by a hotshot. Chris Jericho caught Christian in a Northern Lights Suplex and tried to follow up with bulldog, but Christian nailed him with a low-blow. Christian starts to kick Jericho, as he is doubled over in pain. Jericho catches his breath and is able to catch Christian in a backbreaker for the near-fall. Christian then turns his attention to the referee and throws him out of the ring. While Christian is distracted by taunting the ref, Jericho places Christian in the Walls of Jericho. Standby ref Brad Anderson runs to the ring. Christian is able to break free and places Jericho into a vertical suplex. Jericho once again places Christian in the Walls of Jericho and this time, the pain is too great and he submits, much to the delight of the fans.

[International Title - Round 1]:
Chris Jericho made Christian submit to the Walls Of Jericho in 0:08:53.
Rating: ***

Match 4
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
Bill Goldberg Vs. Eddie Guerrero

Eddie never had a chance as this match was over before it even started. As he speared Eddie and executed the Jackhammer and the rest is history.

[International Title - Round 1]:
Bill Goldberg pinned Eddie Guerrero with the Jackhammer in 0:00:57.
Rating: **

-- Cut to Triple H's locker room, where he is talking on a cell phone --

HHH: I was the WWE Champion dammit! I paid by damn dues! I deserve this Title...it's my destiny and my destiny WILL NOT be denied! I cannot believe I have to prove myself against Chris Beniot of all people. I **have** proved myself

*silence*

HHH (smiling): I like that. Be at Frenzy next week.

Match 5
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
Edge VS. Jeff Hardy

This match saw more action outside of the ring, that inside and I don't know what the deal with referees becoming targets. First Christian throws the referee out of the ring and now Edge throws the referee into the ring-post, completely knocking him out. Hardy went for the patented Swanton Bomb, but Edge rolled out of the way, nails the Edgecution and gets the pinfall.

[International Title - Round 1]:
Edge pinned Jeff Hardy with the Edgecution in 0:10:57.
Rating: ** 1/4

Match 6
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
Batista VS. Sting

This match took both men to their limits and beyond. Whether you like Batista or not, after this match, he has to earn your respect. There were a few near-falls for both individuals and this match had a little something for everybody. Both men came so close, yet it was not enough and the match ended in a draw. Even though they are out of the title tourney, neither men have anything to be ashamed of, as they gave it their all. There's already talk of a match between the two at Gold Rush... this is far from over as each man still feels something to prove.

[International Title - Round 1]:
Batista and Sting battled to a draw in 0:20:00.
Rating: 3/4*

Match 7
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
John "Bradshaw" Layfield VS. The Undertaker

JBL was not too thrilled to have to face The Undertaker, but tonight that was the least of his problems, because out of the blue, Akira Taue nailed JBL with a chair, causing the Undertaker to be DQ'd. The Undertaker was less than pleased over being out of the tournament and turned his attention to Akira, lifted him high over his head and delivered a choke-slam. JBL was wise enough to slide out of the ring, lest he be the Undertaker's next victim.

[International Title - Round 1]:
John "Bradshaw" Layfield defeated The Undertaker by disqualification in 0:00:53
.
Rating: *

Match 8
InterNational Title Tournament - Round 1
D-Von Dudley VS. Hawk

This match has controversy written all over it. The match see-sawed back and forth, with no man getting the upper-hand. Paul Heyman chose to get involved and tripped Hawk, in plain view of the ref, but the ref did nothing. D-Von pinned Hawk, and Hawk had his foot on the rope, which once again the ref saw but chose to ignore and awarded the match to D-Von, in what seemed like a fast-count. Afterwards Hawk went on a rampage, and rightfully so, after a blatant screw-job and executed a pile-driver on the ref, before being escorted out of the ring by officials. But the end result is that D-Von will advance to Round 2 and Hawk will not.
[International Title - Round 1]:

D-Von Dudley pinned Hawk after a flying headbutt in 0:11:31.
Rating: * 3/4

Rating: ** 1/2
(Chavo Guerrero won the TV Title.)

Match 10 (Main Event)
World Title Qualifying Match
Chris Beniot VS. Triple H

This match was nothing short of spectacular. With so much on the line, both men refused to surrender. HHH pulled out all the stops as did Beniot. Beniot nailed HHH with the Crossface Crippler, but Triple H somehow found the strength to break free, and nails Beniot with a DDT. HHH followed up with a neckbreaker and a sleeper, but Beniot worked his way out of it, and put HHH in a figure-four. The Ref counted to 2 and HHH broke free. HHH nails Chris Beniot with The Pedigree and obtains the victory.... a clean victory at that.

Triple H pinned Chris Benoit with the Pedigree in 0:19:14.
Rating: ****

**post-match**
HHH leaves the ring, tosses the announcer out of his chair and throws the chair into the ring. The ref sees what's about to happen and tries to intervene. HHH swing the chair at the ref, who is quick to get out of the ring and HHH slams the chair across Beniot's back. The show ends with HHH standing over Beniot and with the chair raised over his head shouting "My destiny will not be denied"

See you next week!

A nice show. I like the Dudleyz when they are managed by Heyman, they're so vicious  ;D

Eddie squashed by Goldberg? Please tell me this is unbooked..  ;)

Akira Taue attacking JBL? Random interference?

And you should tweak the ref attacks.. or else give them protective equipment.. like steel armor.. lol.. working as a ref in INWA must be a high-risk occupation  :)
