WWE New Year's Revolution
Date: 1/9/2005
Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico

Lita pinned Trish Stratus with the Moonsault in 0:08:53.
Rating: * 1/2
(Lita retained the WWE Women's Title.)
Comments: Trish Stratus lost her championship to Lita in a match on the December 6th edition of RAW, and immediately invoked her rematch clause for this event. The rivalry between these two lovely women has been extremely intense and it continued tonight with the WWE Women's Championship on the line. Lita proved to everyone in this match that her victory over Trish Stratus was no fluke as she retained her title after hitting the Moonsault. Later, Lita will accompany Kane for his return match against Gene Snitsky.

Muhammad Hassan pinned Jerry Lawler with the Ignorance Blissed in 0:10:54.
Rating: ** 3/4
Comments: Perhaps no one has entered the WWE with as much controversy as Muhammad Hassan. While his points about ignorance against Arab American citizens is valid, he paints a picture that all Americans are like this. He is in fact an American citizen, but he doesn't agree for what he believes it stands for. He had a run in with Mick Foley, and the two almost came to blows after Hassan's comment about the military. However, Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari did not hold back against Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross the past two weeks. After last week's debate incident where Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross were attacked by Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari, Jerry Lawler said no more and demanded and received a match against Muhammad Hassan for this pay per view. This event is being held in Puerto Rico, which is not apart of the United States. However, it is a commonwealth of the United States, and because of that and the fact he is a wrestling legend, the crowd was firmly on the side of Jerry Lawler in this match. The support Jerry Lawler received did not deter Muhammad Hassan from making this a successful wrestling debut. Muhammad Hassan finished the match off with what he calls the Ignorance Blissed, a swinging facebuster.

Shelton Benjamin pinned Maven with the Dragon Whip in 0:10:44.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Shelton Benjamin retained the WWE Intercontinental Title.)
Comments: For most of Maven's stay in the WWE since he won the first Tough Enough, he was the typical good guy, trying to make his way up the ladder here. A few weeks ago, however, Maven had enough with being the nice guy and decided that if he was ever going to make it in the WWE, now was the time for an attitude change. It obviously worked as he received an Intercontinental Championship match at this pay per view against the champion Shelton Benjamin. While Maven kept this match competitive, it was obvious that he was no match for Shelton Benjamin. The champion retained his title after hitting Maven with a Dragon Whip. Maven will have his time; it just won't begin tonight.

Gene Snitsky pinned Kane with the Pump-Handle Slam in 0:17:35.
Rating: ** 1/2
Comments: If you go back to last week's episode of RAW, Gene Snitsky promised a surprise for Kane. However, the one who received a surprise last week was Gene Snitsky when Kane came to the aide of his wife Lita and ran Snitsky away from the ring. That obviously was not what Gene Snitsky had in mind. This match was a decent big man brawl, with a lot of intensity in it considering the history between them and the revenge Kane was looking to find. During this match, much to the crowd's surprise, Matt Hardy walked down to the ring with a chair and sat down in it to watch the rest of the match. He acknowledge Lita briefly, but kept his mind on this match, until he got up and picked up the chair after Gene Snitsky bumped into the referee. Considering what Gene Snitsky had done to Lita the past few months, it was wise to believe Matt Hardy was going to hit Snitsky with the chair. Instead, he slammed the chair against Kane's head, knocking him unconscious to the mat. Lita was in disbelief and so was the crowd. Perhaps, Hardy was not done dishing out revenge. Snitsky and Hardy stared each other down until the latter cracked a smile and extended his hand for Snitsky to shake. Without doubt, Snitsky shook Hardy's hand and the crowd couldn't believe it. Lita got up on the apron and yelled why to Matt. Matt's response? A chairshot that knocked Lita off the apron and to the floor. From there, Gene Snitsky picked Kane up and delivered his finisher while Matt Hardy shook the referee until he came to, and left the ring. The referee made the three count, giving Gene Snitsky another win over Kane, albeit in a controversial manner.

[Todd Grisham caught up with Matt Hardy and Gene Snitsky as they were about to leave the arena.]

Todd Grisham: Gene Snitsky, Matt Hardy, hold up. I have some questions for you!

[Gene Snitsky and Matt Hardy turn around, both looking irritated.]

Gene Snitsky: What do you want punk?

Todd Grisham: Matt Hardy, why? Why would you help Gene Snitsky in his match against Kane? To top it all off, you even hit Lita with a chair! Why would you do that to someone you were close to marrying and thought was carrying your baby? What was the meaning of that?

Matt Hardy: Why, why, why? You sound like a sniveling, crying baby. A baby Lita probably was going to have. She's such a whiner, much like it's father Kane. Todd Grisham, you want answers? Too bad! I don't answer to you or anyone. Everything will become clear soon enough. All I will say is that Mattitude is back and better than ever! With Gene Snitsky by my side, it will be an unstoppable force.

[Gene Snitsky and Matt Hardy leave the backstage area and we go back to the ring.]

Eugene and William Regal defeated Christian and Tyson Tomko when Eugene defeated Tomko by countout in 0:19:51.
Rating: * 1/4
(Eugene and William Regal retained the World Tag Team Titles.)
Comments: Recently, Christian and his problem solver, Tyson Tomko, earned singles wins over Eugene and William Regal respectively. Because of this, RAW GM gave Christian and Tyson Tomko the opportunity to do one better, and try to beat Eugene and William Regal for the World Tag Team Titles. Considering the fact Christian has been a tag team champion on nine different occassions and coupling that with what Tyson Tomko brings to the table, the champions were definitely presented with quite the challenge to their reign tonight. The champions retained their title tonight after Tyson Tomko was knocked out of the ring by Eugene and was unable to answer the referee's ten count.

Elimination Chamber Match:
Chris Benoit won a 6-man Elimination Chamber Match:
x Jericho and Edge started out.
x Edge defeated Jericho after a spear in 0:00:29
x Triple H entered at 0:02:00
x Batista entered at 0:04:00
x Chris Benoit entered at 0:06:00
x Randy Orton entered at 0:08:00
x Batista defeated R. Orton after the Demon Bomb in 0:28:54
x Benoit defeated Triple H after a Northern Lights suplex in 0:30:57
x Benoit defeated Batista after a Northern Lights suplex in 0:38:40
x Benoit defeated Edge after a back elbow in 0:39:32
Rating: *****
(Chris Benoit won the World Heavyweight Title.)
Comments: This was it. The vacant World Heavyweight Championship would be awarded to the winner of the Elimination Chamber. The past two Elimination Chamber matches have been nothing short of spectacular, and this match was no exception. Edge and Chris Jericho started off the match. Unfortuately for Chris Jericho, he was eliminated very early on after being surprised with a spear from Edge. Edge wouldn't have much time to celebrate as the next person to enter the chamber was Triple H, who was determined to win back what he believes is rightly his title. Batista entered the chamber and immediately he went for his Evolution associate, Triple H! It appeared that the frustration had built up and boiled over tonight. The next person to enter the chamber was Chris Benoit and the last, but certainly not least was Randy Orton! The action in this match was extremely intense as each competitor wore the crimson mask after everything was all said and done. The match came down to Chris Benoit and Edge, who have been in a bitter rivalry for months since their tag team split up. The one-on-one between these two did not last long, as Chris Benoit was able to secure the victory after hitting a back elbow that Edge could not kick out from. For the second time, Chris Benoit is the World Heavyweight Champion! If you remember back a few weeks ago when there was a dispute over who the champion was, it was Chris Benoit who urged Eric Bischoff to let the wrestlers earn the title; instead of being given the title. Well, you have to respect Chris Benoit because that's exactly what he did tonight. He earned this victory and the world heavyweight title.

[After being awarded the World Heavyweight Title, Chris Benoit didn't have much time to bask in the glory of his victory. "No Chance" hit the speakers and out walked the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon. Vince McMahon entered the Elimination Chamber, and extended his hand to Chris Benoit. Chris Benoit was naturally wary of Vince McMahon, but shook his hand with no incident. Once Vince McMahon's music stopped playing, Vince held up the microphone he brought to the ring.]

Vince McMahon: Chris Benoit, please don't take this as Vince McMahon trying to steal your thunder. No one can take away what you accomplished tonight. What a performance! Everyone, let's hear it for the new World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Benoit!!!

[POP!]

Vince McMahon: The reason I'm out here, besides congratulating you on a job well done, is that I wanted to let everyone know, and especially you, that I will have a huge announcement tomorrow night on Monday Night RAW. How does it involve you? Well, all I will say is that I wouldn't rest on my laurels if I were you. You're going to be defending that newly won World Heavyweight Title very soon and in the biggest match you've ever been in.

[Chris Benoit looked surprised and not certain what was in store for him.]

Vince McMahon: Chris, don't worry about it. Quite frankly, I think you'll be up to the challenge. Now, tonight is your night Chris. Celebrate it! Drop the confetti guys!

[As ordered, tons of confetti fall from the ceiling of the arena. Vince McMahon leaves the ring while Chris Benoit celebrates his title victory with the fans as the pay per view comes to a close.]

I just wanted to let everyone know that this circuit is a go, and I will keep posting cards.  Being that it is a WWE circuit, it is a little interview heavy, thus why I haven't posted RAW or Smackdown! yet.

There is a huge announcement slated for the Monday Night RAW card I will post that will shake the foundation of the WWE...forever.  Or until they get desperate and make another major, huge announcement.

Also, I will be borrowing bits and pieces of WWE angles that have already gone down this week.  They work in well with the direction I already had planned going into the Royal Rumble (Yeah, sure we believe you).

Booked or Unbooked?

Too bad the actual Elimination chamber match wasn't five stars ;)  With the match coming down to Benoit and Edge (And given their past with each other and Edge's title ambitions) I think you've been pretty much handed a great start to a Benoit/Edge feud over the title.  I know I'd pay to see that. :)

I was lucky there. But honestly, you'll have to read RAW to see if that is really where it is going.

And as for the Elimination Chamber, I have a feeling it always gets 5 stars right?

Lastly, this circuit will primarily be booked, especially the main event scene.  (To run the WWE without stuff like Funaki becoming WWE Champion, it seems like a necessity)  However, I'm sure the undercard will have some unbooked wrestling matches to shake things up a bit.
