DCW Rapid Fire (1/30/05)

americamamushiPosted on 01/11/05 at 06:20:10

I have a question.  I'd appriciate the vote even if you're not a big commenter but are a reader.  I tend to dislike doing the match right-up.  Should I keep it anyway, or would it be ok so leave it off when it doesn't really add anything.  Just curious.

Welcome to DCW Rapid Fire!  We're just a single hour away from Blizzard 2005 on pay-per-view and what a line-up we've got tonight!  But before the Blizzard hits we've got three exciting matches right here and Rapid Fire!

[hr]

"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer vs. Ludvig Borga

Neither Dreamer nor Borga have had a great deal of luck in the ring as of late.  Dreamer put on a spectacle of brawling as he tried to get the better of Borga.  Hitting him with rights and lefts and more rights and more lefts.  Borga tried to get in some shots of his own but was by and large unsuccessful.  Borga wasn't all fodder here though.  He got in a few big slams and suplexes to help swing things in his favor.  Dreamer took the match to the outside though it would prove a bad idea.  Borga would get Dreamer up in the torture rack.  After wrenching Dreamer's back for a little while on the outside he swung Dreamer around, hitting Dreamer's head hard on the corner post.  Dreamer was out cold and Ludvig got back in the ring and waited for the ten count.

Ludvig Borga defeated Tommy Dreamer by countout in 0:10:24.

D'Lo Brown vs. Garrison Cade

Surprisingly in this match, Garrison Cade executed many of Shawn Michael's trade-mark moves possibly paying homage to the man who trained him.  He hit a flying elbow drop, a flying forearm smash after D'Lo whipped him into the ropes, and pulled himself back in the ring via the top-rope ala HBK.  He even went for a Superkick, though D'Lo ducked it and Cade turned back around right into a Sky High, followed by the Lo Down.

D'Lo Brown pinned Garrison Cade with the Lo-Down in 0:06:39.
Rating: ** 1/2

*"Song 2" by Blur plays as the crowd cheers at the sight of President Berry.  He stays on the entrance ramp and, with a mic in his hand plays to the crowd a little bit before getting down to business*

Chris Berry: How are all of you great fans here in Nashville? *hometown pop*  Are you all looking forward to tonight? *pop*  Are you excited about seeing Jimmy Jacobs face Raven?? *pop* And what about the debut of three brand spankin' new tag teams here in DCW? *pop. A small Niemiller chant breaks out*  But let's not forget about Gene Snitsky versus Rick Steamboat versus Hulk Hogan for the DCW World Heavyweight title! *big pop*  And I'm adding another match to tonight's line-up.  After what transpired last week in the locker room after a certain tag team match... Charlie Haas will take on Hardcore Holly to kick off the Blizzard!   Not only that, but since Kevin Nash seemed to like using that crutch last week... he will face Jerry Lynn tonight in a crutch match!  So sit back and enjoy this last match of Rapid Fire and don't forgot to call your local cable company or satellite provider and order DCW Blizzard 05!

*Berry waves to the crowd as "Song 2" by Blur kicks in again and he goes to the back*

Main Event: Savio Vega vs. Paul London

Savio Vega, fresh off of a week in his home of Puerto Rico, was like a man possessed and had London on the run with some nice moves and harsh counters.  One instance saw Paul London goes for an Asai Moonsault only to be met with a Yakuza Kick by Savio that looked to almost kill London.  Savio probably could have gotten the pin right there, but decided to further beat London, following it up with an abdominal stretch, further working the abdomen he had just kicked in.  He let it go and pushed London out of the ring in the process.  London managed to get back to his feet (barely) after three, but halfway into the ring Vega grabbed him and locked in another Abdominal stretch.  Vega almost hit his finisher, the Carribean Kick, but London ducked and hit a facebuster to buy himself a little bit of time.  The ref almost got to ten before Vega was totally to his feet, London wasn't as fortunate though and Vega went back on the offensive until a well timed running forearm smash dropped Savio like a bag of bricks.  London picked him up and hit a Northern Lights Suplex, but instead of going for the pin, went up top for a near perfect London Calling.

[Main Event]
Paul London pinned Savio Vega with the London Calling in 0:16:00.
Rating: *** 1/4

Rapid Fire goes off the air with a worn down and beaten London celebrating to the cheers of his fans as a small bit of blood trickles down his forehead.

How you write up your circuit is completely up to you as far as Im concerned

Here go my predictions:

Hardcore Holly vs. Charlie Haas:  I Pick Holly

Crutch Match: Kevin Nash vs. Jerry Lynn:  Nash

"The Insurance Policy" Jon Heidenreich vs. Abyss: Abyss

Raven vs. "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs: Jacobs

Main Event: Rick "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Gene Snitsky vs. Hulk Hogan (c) for the DCW World Heavyweight title:  For some reason Im gonna call Hogan retaining, as much as id like it to be snitsky getting the call

Stick with the writeups as is.  I know writing for each match may seem tedious, but it's a lot harder to build for a character if his match doesn't get a writeup week after week.  It will make certain wrestlers seem unimportant.

Hardcore Holly vs. Charlie Haas  - Holly

Crutch Match: Kevin Nash vs. Jerry Lynn - Nash

"The Insurance Policy" Jon Heidenreich vs. Abyss  - Abyss

Raven vs. "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs  - Raven

Main Event: Rick "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Gene Snitsky vs. Hulk Hogan (c) for the DCW World Heavyweight title

I hope Snitsky, but my guess is Hogan retains.

Oh, and by the way, this was post number 666 for me.
