DCW Brute Force (12/27/04)

americamamushiPosted on 12/17/04 at 08:18:00

Still no site update.  I decided to put my 'before-bed-efforts' into doing the write-ups for then the posting of another card rather than a website update.  You can thank me later.;)  Tomorrow I'll update the site.

*The show opens up immediately with pyro and "Song 2" by Blur blaring over the PA system as DCW President Berry marches down to the ring with a purpose.  He gets in the ring and signals for the mic*

Chris Berry: Good evening... Cincinnati! *home town pop*  You lookin' forward to tonight's edition of Brute Force? *cheers*  Glad to hear it.  Well, let me start by saying that tonight you great Cincinnati fans are going to see the last semi-final match for the DCW World title featuring Rick "The Dragon" Steamboat taking on "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan!  *big pop*  And... just before I came out here I was approached by Jimmy Jacobs. *small, but respectable pop*  He was a little upset about being jumped by the Flock after defeating... cleanly I might add... Steve Richards last night on Rapid Fire.  Jacobs asked me for a match.  Not just any match... but a match... for tonight... against... ABYSS!! *pop*  Also, last week on Brute Force we found out that the Dudley Boys would face Paul London and Jerry Lynn in DCW's first ever tag tea match, but tonight, we'll see the only two that haven't faced eachother in singles action, Jerry Lynn versus D-Von Dudley! *fair pop*  And finally, the main reason I'm out here.  As the president of DCW i have certain expectations for the wrestlers I employ.  For example, when I place a wrestler in a match I expect them not to walk out just like when I place a wrestler in a match I expect them not to simply leave the arena before his match begins.  Tonight however takes the cake.  I get to the arena expecting to see someone.  That someone?  John Cena.  Simple enough, right?  Well apparently not because guess what?  John Cena is no where to be found. *Berry sighs*  John, John, John.  What am I going to do with you?  *thinks a second* Oh... I know.  I'm going to make a match for the pay-per-view.  A match that should have happened two weeks ago at Brute Force's debut.  A match that should have happened last week on Brute Force but didn't then either.  Except... I'm going to take it a step further.  Dan, come out here for this.

*Dan Severn's music hits and he comes to the ring*

CB: This Sunday... live on pay-per-view we'll see John Cena take on Dan Severn... falls-count-anywhere so that Cena can't run away from the match.  And if Cena decides not to show up to the arena at all?  Well... I just hope he can say "Would you like fries with that?" *pop.  Severn looks happy with this announcement*  Dan, you look like you're ready to wrestle now, so whats say we make you a match, against D'Lo Brown *moderate amount of cheers*

*D'Lo's makes his entrance as Chris Berry leaves the ring*

Dan "The Beast" Severn vs. D'Lo Brown

Once this match started it took all of... well... virtually no time.  Severn hit D'Lo with a couple amateur moves and then locked in the Bodyscissors Dragon Sleeper to which Brown tapped right away.

Dan Severn made D'Lo Brown submit to the Bodyscissors Dragon Sleeper in 0:00:57.

"The Monster" Abyss vs. "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs

Abyss was on a mission to destroy Jacobs for showing up a member of the Flock last night on Rapid Fire, even if that member was Steve Richards.  The beating they gave him after the match must not have been enough.  Jacobs surprised everyone in the Cincinnati Gardens by not letting Abyss hit any of his power moves.  Jacobs took a bit of a beating, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.  He hit Abyss with alot... most of which didn't seem to have the slightest effect on him.  Amazingly the Barbaric Berserker lasted 6 minutes before Steve Richards came down to try and give Abyss the assist, but before he could even get in the ring Abyss shoved down the ref, prompting a DQ, giving Jacobs the victory for the match.

Jimmy Jacobs defeated Abyss by disqualification in 0:06:24.
Rating: **

Richards slid into the ring and went to attack Jimmy, unfortunately Abyss went to hit Jimmy with a big boot at the same time and Jacobs ducked it leaving Richards in the line of fire for Abyss' foot.  Jimmy got out of there as fast as he could.  Abyss was noticeably upset at the whole thing.

[hr]

Jerry Lynn vs. D-Von Dudley

Lynn and D-Von went at it like bats out of hell before the ref could signal for the opening bell.  This was far from a technical classic as these two just ripped into eachother with fists, often going to the outside and taking advantage of the guardrails and ringposts.  Dudley managed to hit the Saving Grace on the entrance ramp, but by the time he dragged Lynn back to the ring and pinned him Jerry had recovered enough to kick out at 2.  D-Von went back to tearing him down with rights and lefts until Lynn blocked a couple and answered with some fists of his own.  Lynn whipped D-Von into the ropes and D-Von went for the flying back elbow smash, but Lynn ducked!  D-Von got back up, boot to the stomach, Cradle Piledriver!

Jerry Lynn pinned D-Von Dudley with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:14:01.
Rating: ** 1/4

After the match Bubba Ray Dudley came running out to the ring and attacked Lynn.  Paul London came running out to make the save on his partner before anymore real damage could be done and Bubba yanked D-Von out of the ring as he left himself.  The 4 men taunted and threatened eachother until the Dudleys were behind the curtain.

*We see the Flock's locker room.  Richards is sitting on a bench with an ice bag on his head.  Abyss is standing in the corner and Raven is pacing the floor with an angry look on his face.*

Raven: How could you idiots let this happen?!  Not only did that peon Jimmy Jacobs defeat you *points to Richards* on Rapid Fire last night, but he beat you *points to Abyss* tonight and made us look like fools all the while!  What about me?  Huh?  What about Raven?  How do you think this makes me look?  Everything you two morons do reflects on me.  *grunts with frustration as he punches a locker*  Look, you've each got your missions for the pay-per-view next week, so I guess that leaves me to take care of this mess.  And afterwards Jimmy Jacobs will be seen in the DCW... nevermore.

*camera fades back to the ring*

DCW World Title Tournament Match: Rick "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan

This is the last match on the road to the pay-per-view.  Whoever wins this battle with face Kevin Nash for the DCW World Heavyweight championship.  Things started off with Steamboat and Hogan doing some classic 80s spots, like tests of strength and the like, though it was apparent that most of the work was being done by Steamboat.  The fans decided for the most part to get behind Steamboat more than Hogan as well, which didn't seem to sit too well with the Hulkster.  During the course of the match Hogan went for 4 legdrops, but Steamboard managed to roll away from all of them.  Steamboat hit a series of karate chops on Hogan and finished it off with one from the second rope.  Rick went back up top and waited for Hogan to rise.  Hogan gets back up, Steamboat goes for the Flying Cross Body Block but Hogan ducks and Steamboat hits the ref Delmer McGowan!  Did Hogan just pull the ref in the way of the move?!  It looks like he did, but... would Hulk Hogan do that?  Steamboat can't believe that he hit the ref either, but as he checks on poor Delmer Hogan notices that referee Bud Sims is on his way down to officiate in Delmer's place and he rolls an unsuspecting Steamboat up with an inside cradle... and a hand full of tights?!

[DCW World Title Tournament - Round 1]
Hulk Hogan pinned Rick Steamboat after an inside cradle in 0:28:08.
Rating: *** 1/4

Rick Steamboat is stunned and it looks like he thinks Hogan is to blame for what happened.  Hogan however just plays to the audience as most are still cheering for the Hulkster's win here tonight.  Be sure to join us this Sunday for DCW's first pay-per-view Seasons Sleighings, which will be kicked off with a live edition of Rapid Fire!  We'll see you then!

Another solid showing.  I love the character development so far with John Cena.  Cena vs. Severn FCA should be good.

Jacobs beats Abyss!  It was DQ, but a win is a win!  Jacobs seems to have raised the ire of Raven... could Jacobs have given his last huss?

And Hogan cheats to win!  Hogan vs. Nash to crown the first World champion?  Though I'm not thrilled, I like the realism of this, because even if there are more talented guys, these two are superstars, and if a league was just starting, both would be pushed heavy.  It's not going to give yuo a workrate machine, but you'll have a credible "name" World champion to start.

I'll give you predictions once I have a solid card in front of me.  I'm not sure if I know all of the matches off the top of my head. :)

Cena's being a douchebag... awesome. :)

HUSS! HUSS! HUSS!!!

I really really hate Hogan.  I don't love Kevin Nash, but I hope he creams him.
