Brute Force (1/17/05)

americamamushiPosted on 01/05/05 at 08:10:38

*As the show fades in we are shown somewhat grainy footage of a wilderness area.  Suddenly a man walks in front of the camera in the distance and walks across the screen, apparently unaware of the camera.  The footage is reminiscent of the infamous Bigfoot footage only the man is dressed in what appears to be black slacks, a white dress shirt and a black tie.  He also appears to have a black backpack on... he also appears to be John Cena*

[hr]

*The intro video is shown, followed by various shots of the arena and crowd as fireworks go off*

Welcome to DCW Brute Force!  We're two weeks away from DCW Blizzard '05 and tonight, we've got some exciting action for you, live from right here in the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa!  We've got a packed house here tonight for Brute Force and from the sound of it they are prepared for action.  Tonight we'll be seeing Paul London take on Steve Richards, Ludvig Borga will be facing Dan Severn, Charlie Haas will try and continue his winning streak against Bubba Ray Dudley as Bubba tries to get revenge for D-Von's loss last week.  We'll see the debut of DCW's newest wrestler Mikey Batts as he wrestled Jimmy Jacobs.  And after what transpired in last week's main event, President Chris Berry has granted Rick Steamboat a match tonight... against Gene Snitsky!  Let's get down to the action!

[hr]

Paul London vs. "Dark & Troubled" Steve Richards

The match started off with a lot of intensity from both wrestlers.  London was all over Richards.  Steve tried hard to slow down his pace, catching him in various submission moves and using under-handed tricks here and there.  Richards came off the top rope but was met with a Dropsault by London.  Richards looked to be out and London went up top for the Shooting Star Splash, only to hit Richards' knees.  The ref started the 10-count with both men down, but Steve was back up at 6 and nailed London with the Stevie-T.

Steve Richards pinned Paul London with the Stevie-T in 0:12:45.
Rating: ** 1/2

[hr]

Ludvig Borga vs. Dan "The Beast" Severn

Dan Severn has been on a fairly good rebound after his loss to Cena at Seasons Sleighings and looks to be on a come back of sorts.  Borga has had a bit of a slow start however.  Severn played his usual card of submission and amateur wrestling.  Borga seemed to have a hard time keeping up, but could never really be considered out of the match.  Even after his losing streak since entering DCW a few weeks ago, his power is also a factor.  Borga managed to crawl his way to the ropes in a Cobra Clutch and an abdominal stretch before finally submitting to a Boston Crab.

Dan Severn made Ludvig Borga submit to a Boston crab in 0:11:53.
Rating: -3/4*

*We are shown the Flock's locker room.  Raven is pacing the floor*

Raven: God!  I can't believe this.  We're being attacked on two fronts!  When the Huns wanted to expand their kingdom to the east they befriended their enemies in the west.  We unfortunately don't have that option, nor would I want to take it.  Jon Heidenreich and Jimmy Jacobs must pay for their interference in the matters of the Flock.

*knock on the door*

R: What the hell?

*Raven goes to the door and opens it, only to find a flaming bag sitting in front of their door.  Raven begins to stomp it to put the fire out.  Once the fire's out he begins to sniff.*

R: What? *sniff sniff.  Looks at the bottom of his shoe* It was filled with dog crap!

*Hussing is heard down the hall*

R: It's that damn Jimmy Jacobs!  I know it!  Come on!

*The flock runs out of the locker room chasing after Jacobs as we come back to the ring*

[hr]

Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Charlie Haas

Haas not only continued his winning streak last week, but continued the Dudley's singles losing streak.  Last week's loss was arguably the fault of the interference by Bubba, but it's probably not the best thing to bring up to him.  Referee Rod Marquez kept a watchful eye on D-Von, not allowing him to interfere once during the whole match.  Bubba got a two count in the first minute of the match after hitting a sitdown powerbomb, despite the advantage he would have had, he decided to argue with Marquez about the count being slow, allowing Haas to hit a Russian legsweep on the distracted Dudley.  He tried hitting a sitdown powerbomb of his own, but Bubba must've saw it coming because he countered it with a backdrop before Haas could even try and lift him.  The fans were pretty into the match as it was of good quality and really got behind Haas (or possibly it was more that the fans were not getting behind Bubba).  Haas took Bubba Ray down with a single-leg takedown and fluidly transitioned into the Haas of Pain.

Charlie Haas made Bubba Ray Dudley submit to the Haas Of Pain in 0:17:28.

*We're shown the backstage again.  It's a fairly open area of the back and there looks to be chairs and various other things stacked up and stored against the wall, as well as a few metal trash cans.  The Flock goes running past, stopping for a moment, then continuing on in an angry search for Jimmy Jacobs.  After they've been off screen for a moment, out of the center trash can, slowly pops out Jimmy Jacobs.  First you only can see his head, with the trashcan lid strapped to it, looking around to see if the coast is clear.  Then he quietly gets out of the trash can, with the lid still strapped to his head*

Jimmy Jacobs: Huss, huss, huss, huss... *Hussing continues as he walks off*

*The camera fades into President Berry's office just in time to see Kevin Nash and Jon Heidenreich burst in*

Kevin Nash: Look Berry, we've got a problem that needs fixing.  My insurance policy here has constantly been bothered by Abyss.  Everywhere we look, there's Abyss trying to start something.  You're the president, you need to create a safe working environment.

Chris Berry: A safe working environment?  I suppose that's true.  What do you suggest?

KN:  I suggest that we settle this thing once and for all.  Jon Heidenreich versus Abyss at Blizzard '05! *fair pop*

CB: Heidenreich versus Abyss?  I... I dunno...

*Heidenreich gets a mean look on his face and gets almost nose to nose with Berry*

CB: Well... I guess it c-could work...

*Nash gets a smile on his face, as does Heidenreich as takes his face away from Berry's 'personal space bubble'*

CB: There is.. one problem though.  Heidenreich isn't on the active roster.

KN: What?  Big deal, so put him on the active roster for the night of the pay-per-view.

CB:  Ummm... I can't... really do that.  You see, as the rules stipulate for Heidenreich's current position in the federation... he must be placed on the active roster before the PPV... which means that in order for Heidenreich to wrestle on the pay-per-view... he's gonna have to wrestle next week on Brute Force.

*Nash and Heidenreich don't appear to be too happy*

KN: Fine... just have him wrestle that little Fabio guy I blew off last week.

CB: Ooo... see, going to be wrestling in Puerto Rico that night so he won't be here.  In fact... *looks at paper* it looks like the only guy that doesn't have a match yet... is... Dan Severn

*Now Nash seems infuriated*

KN: You can't do this.  This is crap Berry!  Total crap!  We don't...

*Jon Heidenreich puts his arm out in front of Nash, who then stops talking.  Heidenreich once again leans into Berry's face*

Jon Heidenreich: Do it.

*The camera fades to commercial on a nervous Berry and a determined Heidenreich*

"The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs vs. Mikey Batts

Jacobs came out to a fairly large pop.  Batts looked really good in his DCW debut.  Jacobs seemed to be a little up on him, but definitely an incredible showing.  Both men hit some nice, crisp spots to a good reaction from the crowd.  They also both had several near falls, including one by Batts after hitting his finisher the Batts Beater (kip-up frankensteiner).  Eventually though, the Flock ran down to the ring and chased Jacobs out.  The Flock chased Jacobs around the ring in an almost comical fashion, even hiding under the ring for a moment at one point.  Eventually Jacobs retreated through the audience.  During all this referee Harley Donaldson counted Jacobs out, giving Batts the win for his debut.

Mikey Batts defeated Jimmy Jacobs by countout in 0:06:57.
Rating: ** 1/2

Batts started to celebrate when the Flock entered the ring, not giving Mikey any escape routes.  Abyss started stepping towards him, Batts backed up, right into Raven, who spun him around and planted him hard with the Raven Effect.

Main Event: Rick "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Gene Snitsky

After last week's incident between Snitsky and Steamboat, the Dragon made a special request to president Berry for a match against Snitsky tonight.  It seemed last week that Snitsky and Hogan were in cahoots after he attacked Steamboat.  The match started off with several lock-up attempts, all of which saw Snitsky pushing Rick off and halfway across the ring.  Steamboat might have been wondering what he got himself into as Gene seemed in top form.  The Dragon still has some spunk in him though and next attempted to just plain out maneuver Snitsky, which worked for a little while, using classic wrestling holds and takedowns, and just trying to keep moving and out of the way of Snitsky's boot and fists.  That worked well until he went for a spinning headscissors and Snitsky threw him off and jumped on him with a chokehold that almost got him DQed.  Snitsky proceeded to hit power move after power move to tear Steamboat apart.  He finished it up with the Pump-Handled Side Powerslam on a now bleeding Dragon.

[Main Event]
Gene Snitsky pinned Rick Steamboat with the Pump-Handle Side Powerslam in 0:15:32.
Rating: ** 1/4

As Snitsky is announced the winner, his theme music is interrupted by Hogan's.  He comes out with his DCW World title and heads down to the ring.  He grabs a mic

[hr]

Hulk Hogan: *to Steamboat* How do you like that Rick?  When you lost, you should have just accepted it and moved on.  You should have known better.  After all these years in the business you should have known better  *to Snitsky* Snitsky, you've done well Brother. *fans boo* Well Gene, how does it feel to be on the side of Hulkamania?

*Hogan hands Snitsky the mic*

Gene Snitsky: Well Hulk... it feels good.  Destroying a legend like Rick Steamboat has really shown me what I can accomplish in this sport.

*Hogan tries to take the mic back*

GS: I'm not finished yet! *Hogan gives him a funny look as Gene snatches the mic back*  Like I was saying, I know know what I can accomplish here in DCW.  You see now... now I want a piece... of Hulk Hogan!

*Hulk gets a look of disbelief on his face right before he gets leveled by a Snitsky clothesline.  He starts putting the boots to Hogan.  Hogan makes a feeble attempt at a comeback, but is met with the Pump-Handle Side Powerslam.  He grabs the belt off of the mat and stares at it longingly as the show fades out.*

John Cena is Bigfoot!  The mystery is solved!  He's the missing link.  Sweet.

Paul London loses? :(  At least it was to Stevie.  i like me some Stevie.  With his new gimmick, I think he should have a new finisher name.  Stevie-T doesn't sound to Dark and Troubled to me.  But that's your call. :)

Now very rarely do I ever literally laugh out loud when I'm reading something on the internet, but Jimmy Jacobs... holy shit.  That was AMAZING.  Seriously... absolutely brilliant.  He got poor Mikey Batts killed though. :)

Charlie Haas keeps winning, and Buh Buh keeps losing.  The Dudleys thing is being handled really well.  You're making a tag team that in real life has long been dull into something interesting.

Heidenreich versus Severn!  Heidenreich rules.  In a really crappy way.

SNITSKY! Snitsky versus Hogan for the DCW World Heavyweight Title?  Now that's a wet dream for me.  Was surprised to see Snitsky beat Steamboat clean.  Even more surprised to see him swerve Hogan.  Hot way to end the show, and God willing, Snitsky is the future World champion.

i thought that'd be a humorous way to start bringing him back

Paul London loses? Sad
Yeah, poor London had to take one for the team.

I thought about changing it when I started, but since I'm trying to play the character off as sort of a 'poser' I decided it'd be better just to leave it.  He tries to fit in, dress all overly gothic and stuff, but he just doesn't:)

Yay! Go me!

The Dudleys thing is being handled really well.  You're making a tag team that in real life has long been dull into something interesting.
Yay again.  I must be doing something right:)

Next week's Brute Force will (hopefully) be big since it's the last one before the Blizzard '05 ppv.  Hopefully it will end up being a good lead in to it.  The TDA might even be making an appearance soon... ;D

Nice show! I am not terribly fond of Nash, Heidenreich or Snitsky, but you seem to make them seem more interesting.
I will have to check out your homepage for some background info on this circuit.

I can't add anything else to that. :)

Ahhh.. Steamboat loses? Me = sad   But yay for Severn.
I'm torn.
