"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer vs. Jerry Lynn

Lynn and Dreamer some what revived some of the spirit of ECW tonight.  They actually ended up spending most of the match outside the ring.  It just had that ECW TV show match feel to it and the fans seemed to eat it up.  From a technical stand point it wasn't anything special.  The Des Moines crowd really got behind Jerry Lynn which seemed to rub Dreamer the wrong way.  Lynn had the crowd in a frenzy as he hit Dreamer with a series of knifehand chops, after which he went for the Cradle Piledriver.  Dreamer countered though and tried the Dreamer DDT, but then Lynn countered and went for the Cradle Piledriver once again.  They each countered the other's finisher 4 times in different ways before Lynn finally got off the Cradle Piledriver for the win.

Jerry Lynn pinned Tommy Dreamer with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:07:36.
Rating: ** 3/4

After the match the crowd went nutzo and Lynn led them in an "E-C-Dub!" chant.

D'Lo Brown vs. Kenny Kaos

Despite being an average meeting on paper, the match between these two lower card wrestlers went off pretty darn well.  Much higher quality than expected anyway.  Kenny definitely had his head in the game tonight, but even with that he couldn't manage to get his finisher off on D'Lo.  He went for a spinning headscissors, but D'Lo threw him off and caught him with a normal spinebuster after he got up.  He could only get a two count for his troubles though, so he went up top.  Kenny had enough energy to kick out, but couldn't get up fast enough and got the Lo Down from Brown.

D'Lo Brown pinned Kenny Kaos with the Lo-Down in 0:09:46.

Main Event: Konnan vs. Savio Vega

Konnan has been getting win after win here on Rapid Fire.  Tonight he faced another wrestler from "South of the Border" in Savio Vega who definitely hasn't had Konnan's success since entering DCW.  The match wasn't luchadore-esque anymore than when Konnan wrestles any other non-Mexican wrestler as Savio wasn't a luchadore, he was a Puerto Rican wrestler.  Savio actually did pretty good for himself, taking Konnan off his feet a lot with fast paced clotheslines and kicks.  Savio even got the crowd behind him, until Konnan stopped his momentum with a massive spinebuster, followed by a series of unsportsmanlike stomps to the face.  Later on Konnan would hit a sitdown faceslam and try for the Tequila Sunrise, but Vega must've done his homework because he saw it coming and would have none of it.  Three times he managed to squirm out of Konnan's attempts at the Tequila Sunrise before Konnan would finally get it locked in.

[Main Event]
Konnan made Savio Vega submit to the Tequila Sunrise in 0:13:09.
Rating: ** 3/4

You're stuck in 2001 if you think the economy is doing poorly.
