DCW website update later tonight or tomorrow

[hr]

Welcome to DCW Rapid Fire and welcome once again to Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio!  We once again are bringing you three great matches, the main event of which will be Konnan taking on Hardcore Holly.

[hr]

"Dark and Troubled" Steve Richards vs. "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs

Last week Jimmy Jacobs showed that he is definitely ready for the big stage as he defeated Konnan via a clean pinfall.  This week he'd try and repeat that performance against Steve Richards who isn't necessarily a tougher opponent, but has Raven and Abyss behind him.  Lucky for Jacobs they weren't ringside, but he knew that they were lurking in the back of the arena somewhere.  Richards attacked Jacobs before the bell, beating him down with a series of punches.  Richards stayed on top for a while before fudging on a Stevie-T attempt.  Jacobs tried to take advantage from there, but couldn't hold onto it for long.  He didn't allow Richards to be the dominant force he was in the beginning of the match though.  Steve Richards started getting frustrated at Jacobs and went for a clothesline, but Jacobs ducked down, went behind him and got him in an inside cradle for the pin.

Jimmy Jacobs pinned Steve Richards after an inside cradle in 0:08:04.
Rating: ** 3/4

Steve Richards was in a state of shock as Jacobs celebrated his victory.  As Jimmy celebrated Raven and Abyss came down to the ring.  Jimmy turned around and saw them, but it was too late.  He was surrounded by the three members of the Flock.  Raven and Steve attacked Jimmy while his attention was drawn to Abyss.  They whipped him into the ropes, rebounding him towards Abyss.  BLACK HOLE SLAM!!  The Flock quietly leaves the ring as if they'd done nothing wrong to a wave of boos from the crowd.

"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer vs. D'Lo Brown

Things started off well, with Dreamer and Brown exchanging some basic chain wrestling, each time getting a few claps from people in the audience.  It quickly degenerated into a slugfest between the two men though.  Dreamer seemed to be able to one-up Brown alot.  The ref let alot of things slide.  You'd almost think it was a hardcore match at times as when they were on the outside they would try and hit eachother with anything not nailed down.  For some reason near the end of the match Tommy Dreamer thought it would be a good idea to go up to the top rope.... turned out it was just a "Ric Flair Moment" because just about as soon as he got up there Brown came over and slammed him down, setting up for the Lo-Down.

D'Lo Brown pinned Tommy Dreamer with the Lo-Down in 0:12:18.
Rating: *** 1/4

Hardcore Holly vs. Konnan

Konnan didn't fair well last week against Jimmy Jacobs, but then again Hardcore Holly didn't fair well in his debut two weeks ago on the debut edition of Brute Force against Raven.  A loss to Raven seems a bit more admirable than a loss to Jimmy Jacobs for the moment though as Raven is a tried and true veteran and this is Jacob's first shot at the big times.  Konnan started things off giving an "ORALE!" to the fans after circling with Holly for a few seconds.  Holly took this to his advantage and locked up with Konnan as soon as he turned around, hitting him with a hard shoulder breaker.  Holly kept working on the shoulder/arm area throughout the match.  Konnan had to stick to brawling most of the time as he found it hard to lift up Holly after all that.  Konnan latched in the Tequila Sunshine briefly, but he was way to close to the ropes and as soon as Hardcore realized it, he grabbed them.  Konnan had Hardcore reeling after a few moves in succession.  He ran into the ropes and went for the rolling clothesline, but after his somersault, Holly picked him up in one fluid motion and hit the Alabama Slam.

Hardcore Holly pinned Konnan after the Alabama Slam in 0:15:47.
Rating: ** 3/4

The show fades out with Hardcore celebrating up the entrance ramp while his music plays.

That wraps up Rapid Fire for tonight, we'll see you tomorrow on DCW: Brute Force!

Jacobs wins again!  Yay!  HUSS!

D'Lo winning wasn't unexpected.  I like Dreamer though.  Push him now!

And despite how I treated him in GCW, I'm a huge Hardcore Holly mark, so I'm glad to see him get the win (it doesn't hurt that I hate Konnan too)

Looking forward to Brute Force... post it... NOW!

There is a fair chance it might get posted tonight.  If not tonight then definently tomorrow (most likely before tomorrow evening.  It's booked, just gotta do the write-ups)

Hopefully the last Brute Force before Seasons Sleighings will set up the PPV nicely. *crosses fingers* ;)

I concur.

turned out it was just a "Ric Flair Moment"
LOL, this cracked me up.

giving an "ORALE!" to the fans
I will not deny that I had to go back and read this again to make sure it said, what it said. :)
