Will having 700+ wreslters *really* hurt my TNM?

CkzippyPosted on 09/19/05 at 08:55:12

I've been trying to update some of my wrestler exports with the ones over at TNMUK using export packs.

However, whenever I try to update/import some wrestlers, TNM tells me that by importing the file, I'll have way more than the 700 wrestler files that TNM recommends (I believe something like 1300+).

Even though I'm not updating/importing EVERY wrestler in the export packs, I still get this message, so I haven't been making any updates/imports.

Anyone out there have more than the 700 recommended wrestler files w/o any problems?  Should I even be getting this warning?

700 wrestlers isn't a "now it works, now it doesn't" threshold, but if you check most of the topics in the help forum are usually solved by cutting back on the number of wrestlers one has loaded into TNM.

The more wrestlers you have, the more memory TNM has to use to keep track of them all.  And the more memory TNM hogs up, the greater chance it has on crashing regularly on you.

700 will probably work with many computers, however it's just about the point where people start running into problems, so you probably want to have less than that if possible.

If you're running TNM7SE, 1300 wrestlers will almost certainly render the program unable to simulate matches due to Error 7s (Not enough conventional memory).

It really all depends on how your computer is configured. Some people run fine on 1,400 wrestlers. Others can't have more than 700-750 before everything goes straight to hell - no detours.
