Match #1
Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles
We are a week away from Retribution, and Chavo Guerrero Jr. has a huge match against his uncle Eddie Guerrero coming up at that event. He would first have to get by AJ Styles though, the former Television champion. It was obvious right from the start that Chavo is operating on pure emotion right now. These accusations by Eddie that Chavo is Black Tiger have taken their toll on the third generation Chavo, and as a result, he was not focused on this match. Chavo must be looking past Styles to his match with Eddie, and as a result, AJ Styles was able to pick up the victory after a brutal inverted DDT.

AJ Styles pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. after an inverted DDT in 0:04:09.
Rating: ** 3/4

Not a good showing by Chavo Guerrero Jr., but it's obvious that his heart and his head are elsewhere. AJ Styles, meanwhile, just keeps winning.

Match #2
The Hurricane vs. Abyss (w/ Shaniqua)
I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but Abyss is positively scary. Thus far he has done all of Shaniqua's bidding and destroyed everyone he has been in contact with. Things didn't look good from the outset for The Hurricane, but that didn't stop the Man In Green from fighting to the best of his ability. Abyss is just too much man for The Hurricane and despite The Hurricane's tenacity, Abyss put him away with the Black Hole Slam, much to Shaniqua's delight.

Abyss pinned The Hurricane with the Black Hole Slam in 0:06:47.
Rating: *** 1/2

Abyss continues to mow through the competition. Is anybody going to be able to stop Shaniqua with this man in her stable? The more we see him, the more I'm starting to think the answer is no.

Match #3
Eric Angle vs. Matt Stryker
Eric angle was looking to keep his undefeated record flawless as he took on independent wrestler Matt Stryker, making his second High Voltage appearance. When these "enhancement talents" get an opportunity to wrestle in GCW, they work extremely hard because they know that one upset could be their ticket to getting a GCW contract. Stryker came out fast and impressive, getting the better of the elder Angle brother early on, but Angle would soon get the upperhand in this one and not let it go. Eric Angle pushes his undefeated streak one more week as he put Stryker's shoulders down with a fisherman suplex.

Eric Angle pinned Matt Stryker after a fisherman suplex in 0:08:53.
Rating: ** 1/2

Another match, another win for Eric Angle. A good showing by Matt Stryker though. GCW officials have to be looking at him a lot more closely now after giving Eric Angle a run for his money.

Match #4
World Tag Team Title Match
The Basham Brothers (c) (w/ Shaniqua) vs. "Ironman" Rob Conway/"Mr. Wrestling" Nick Dinsmore
The main event this week was a rare High Voltage World Tag Team Title defense as the Basham Brothers defended against Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore. Conway and Dinsmore have fallen down the ranks in the tag team division in recent months, but they knew what kind of huge opportunity they had here, and they came out firing on all cylinders. It looked as if the Bashams were taken aback by how quickly their opponents came out in this contest as they were on their heels from the get-go. Conway and Dinsmore were doing everything right: wrestling crisply, cutting the ring in half, and using double team moves efficiently.

The Bashams finally started getting their act together, but it almost seemed like it was a little too late. Shaniqua was furious as her men, and she decided to take matters into her own hands. Late in the match, Conway had Danny Basham and went for a back suplex, but as he lifted Basham up, Shaniqua pulled out Conway's legs out from under him, causing Basham to fall on top with a cross-body block. Shaniqua pulled Conway's foot down preventing him from kicking out and the Basham Brothers escaped a close one with their titles.

The Basham Brothers (Doug Basham and Danny Basham) defeated Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore when Danny Basham pinned Conway after a cross-body block in 0:08:40.
Rating: *** 3/4
(The Basham Brothers retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

The Bashams quickly retreated with their titles still in tow, but Shaniqua was not at all happy with them, hitting both Doug and Danny hard with the riding crop. The Bashams are going to have to wrestle far better than this if they want to keep their titles at Retribution, as Billy Kidman and Paul London will not hesitate to take advantage of any mistakes they see.

Anthoer great Voltage for some reason it's always been my favorite GCW show. I guess i just like seeing the young talent get pushed or maybe i just like sqaush matches, but whatever the matter might be love your show. One question when is Abyss going to get a shot at a real star not even a title just but just put him up against someone with more credit then the Hurricane. :)

I'm slowly building him up as more of a bodyguard/henchman than a legitimate guy in matches right now.  Giving him some squashes to establish the character.  He'll start wrestling some more established guys soon enough, but not quite yet.
