cerberosPosted on 11/13/04 at 06:49:56

SMACKDOWN:

Smackdown comes on the air with footage of last weeks announcement of the big Raw vs. Smackdown match at Survivor Series.  We see that already announced for Team Raw is Chris Benoit, Eugene, William Regal, Rhyno, Chris Jericho and Kane.  That leaves four spots to fill.  We then go to the ring and Paul Heyman.

Heyman:  Welcome to Paul Heyman's SMACKDOWN!  I want to introduce you to just a few members of the team that I have assembled.  I give you the WWE Champion Kurt Angle, Booker T, Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels.

The four men actually come out together.

Angle:  I want to start off by saying that just because we are on a team doesn't mean that I trust you.  I know that all of you would do anythi---

A bell rings as the Undertaker's music hits.  Out comes The Undertaker, Rikishi, Rey Misterio and Billy Gunn.

Taker:  So when are you going to announce that we are on the team Kurt?

Angle:  You guys?  Your little gang isn't on the same page let alone on our page.

Taker:  Your page?  Does that mean playing to the crowd?  Does that mean sucking up to that tub of lard Paul Heyman?

Heyman:  Tub of lard?  Well Mark, I have an idea.  Tonight you are facing Hardcore Holly in a hardcore match.  The winner of that match will be given a spot.  Now to be fair to I am going to make a six tag match, Eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels and Booker T will face off with Rey Misterio, Billy Gunn and Rikishi.  The winners will get the spots on the team.  How is that Mark?

Taker:  Your on Paul, but you just sealed Hardcore Holly's fate.

BREAK

We come back and it is time for our opening match with Rico and Charlie Hass taking on Chavo Guerrero and Jamie Noble.  This wasn't much of a match.  In a little over a minute Chavo hit a crucifix on Haas for the win.

Chavo Guerrero and Jamie Noble defeated Rico and Charlie Haas when Chavo pinned
C. Haas after a crucifix in 0:01:23.

In the back we see Mordecai and Cerberos arriving.  We are told that later tonight it would be Cerberos taking on Matt Cappotelli.  We see Kurt Angle stretching when JBL comes up.

JBL:  Well if it isn't the man wearing my title.  You know Team Raw is looking pretty tough, I think you need someone like me on your team.  You know a former pretty much mister everything here on Smackdown, a self made millionaire, best selling author and a radio personality.

Angle:  Oh were you talking to me?  Because quite frankly John, you aren't in my league.  Do you see these?  They are Olympic GOLD medals!  I won these with a broken fricking neck.  I am the WWE Heavyweight Champion because NO ONE can beat me.  Not Triple H, not Shawn Michaels, not Booker T, not Rob Van Dam and certainly not the Undertaker.  So I don't know why you think you should be on my team!  Hell you couldn't stay in the ring with me for five minutes!

JBL:  That sounds like a challenge.  Do you like to take risks Kurt?  I do, that is how I made millions in the stock market, and I have an idea for you.  Tonight it will be JBL verse Kurt Angle where if I last five minutes with you I get to be on Team Smackdown.  If I don't---

Angle:  You have to be MY limo driver.  Oh and of course it will be

JBL:  You are on.

JBL extends his hand and Angle accepts it.  JBL gets his usual grin on his face as he gets his hand sanitizer out.

BREAK

We come back and we see the attacks recently on the WWE Tag Team Champions, Nunzio and Johnny Stamboli by John Cena and Mark Jindrak as well as Luther Reigns.  Then it is time for tag team action as technically the reigning World Tag Team Champions (Raw) the Dudley Boys are taking on John Cena and Mark Jindrak.

This was a good back and forth match between the Dudley's and the rap duo.  Cena came out rapping about the Dudley's clan including talking about the mom being a whore and their dad being a little sexually frustrated to "tap momma Dudley's fat ass".  In the end it was Jindrak missing a flying clothesline and turning around right into 3D.

The Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley) defeated John Cena and Mark Jindrak when Bubba pinned M. Jindrak after the Dudley Death Drop in 0:08:05.
Rating: ***

After the match Nunzio and JBT, both bandaged up, hit the ring and tried to attack Cena and Jindrak but they got away.  The Dudley's and the FBI had a stare down as we go to the back.

In the back we see Scotty heading out of the locker room and once again he runs into Paul London.

Scotty:  What's up with you dude?  You seem to be in my way all the time.

London:  I just keep seeing that pretty belt and can't believe that it isn't around my waist.

Scotty:  Well believe it you freak.  Look at you!

London is wearing a pink robe, with purple trunks and has his hair spiked up.

Scotty:  You look like an 80's reject.  You could be the best in the ring but you are messed up in the head son.

Scotty shoves past him as he heads to the ring for his match with Spike Dudley.

London:  You are wrong Scotty, I am the best---after all I am the STAR!

As London says this Mathew throws glitter all over him.

BREAK

We come back and it is time for Cruiserweight Title match.  It is a back and forth match and about 5 or 6 minutes in out comes "The Star" and his buddy Mathew.  Scotty and Spike both stop at this as "The Star's" entire entrance, falling glitter stars and all, starts in the middle of the match.  Finally Paul gets to the ringside area and sits with Cole and Tazz.  In the ring the match resumes and it swings into Spike's favor.  Scotty comes back when he counters the Dudley Dog with a throw off, but it hits official Charles Robinson.  London sprints from the announce table and nails Scotty from behind.  He then hits the Falling Star.  Spike attacks London but his buddy Mathew is right there.  He gives Spike a huge Chokeslam.  London drags Spike onto Scotty as the official starts to stir.  Charles make the groggy three count and we have a new Cruiserweight champion.

Spike Dudley defeated Scotty 2 Hotty via pinfall in 0:10:32.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Spike Dudley won the WWE Cruiserweight Title.)
[Paul London interfered against Scotty 2 Hotty.]
[Mathew interfered against Spike Dudley.]

BREAK

We come back and it is time for a video on Hardcore Holly and the Undertaker's past.  We see their gang forming and then it falling apart between the two of them.  We then go to the ring.

Hardcore Holly faired pretty good in this match but in the end the Dead Man came out on top.  Holly got a near fall off the Hollycaust and the Alabamaslam but it wasn't enough.  Taker hit a chokeslam from the ring through a table and then hit a Tombstone on the floor for the win.

Hardcore:
The Undertaker pinned Hardcore Holly with the Tombstone in 0:10:36.
Rating: ** 1/4

EMT comes out as Holly is out cold.  In the back we see Mordecai and Cerberos praying as we go to break.

BREAK

Cerberos continues to struggle here on Smackdown after a rather shocking debut a few weeks back.  Matt Cappotelli, on the other hand, has had a great year on Smackdown.  Matt had a new look which includes a new hair cut, wearing his Western Michigan University jacket and amateur wrestling gear.  He soundly beat "The Hell Hound" and ended it with a his new finisher, the Bronco Bash (Second Rope Poweslam)

Matt Cappotelli pinned Cerberos with the Bronco Bash in 0:04:50.
Rating: * 1/4

BREAK

The Undertaker's team didn't fair well against the might of Booker T, Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero.  During the match Rob Van Dam came out and talked about wanting a shot at Kurt Angle.  Well he briefly talked about it because for 10 minutes of the match he was greeting fans at ringside.  In the ring Gunn and Rikishi looked out classes.  Misterio was able to hang with the other team but finally Shawn nailed Gunn with a little SCM, Eddie took Rey over the top with a Frankensteiner and in the ring Booker hit his Scissors Kick for the win.

Booker T, Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero defeated Rey Misterio, Billy Gunn and Rikishi when Booker pinned Rikishi with the Scissor Kick in 0:13:22.
Rating: *** 1/4

Booker celebrated in the ring when RVD jumped up and nailed Booker with a flying side kick.  Eddie and Shawn were on the floor and RVD took them out with a flying crossbody block.  RVD ran to the back before they had a chance to recover.

BREAK

In the back we see Booker, Eddie and Shawn in Paul Heyman's office.

Shawn:  Paul what is that crap?  We all want a chance to teach "Mr. I am the Star" Rob Van Dam a lesson.  He had no business out there.

Heyman:  You are right Shawn, he had no business out there.  And you guys will have a chance to teach him a lesson.

Booker:  Good, when do we get that sucka in the ring!

Heyman:  Well in a little over three weeks at Survivor Series I have added him to your team.

Eddie:  What?  You expect us to team with that egomaniac?  You have to be kidding us!

Heyman:  If there is one thing I don't do, it is joke.  You see I am making the best damn team EVER in sports entertainment and that has to include Rob Van Dam.  I made RVD, I know what he can do.  So trust me it is a good choice.

Shawn:  Don't screw with us Paul.

Michaels storms out as Eddie and Booker follows him out.  In the back we see Kurt Angle heading to the ring and he runs into the Undertaker.

Taker:  Well it looks like Smackdown is going to win at the Survivor Series now.

Angle:  And why is that?

Taker:  Because now it has a real captain in me.

Angle:  A real captain?  I lead a team of wrestlers to the fricking Olympics buddy!  I know how to lead.  When we get out there you just follow my fricking lead.

BREAK

We come back and see JBL in the ring waving to the crowd with his cocky smile.  Angle comes out but right behind him is the Undertaker.  Behind him is Eddie, Shawn and Booker.  We also see that RVD is out in the crowd playing to the crowd.  This wasn't a great match but Angle carried JBL to a decent match.  Remember Angle had to beat JBL within five minutes.  At 4 minutes and 30 seconds the Undertaker tried to interfere but Booker stopped him and a brawl started on the floor as RVD jumped over the guard rail.  The official was distracted as Angle hit the Olympic Slam.  The official finally turned around and made the three count.

Tony Chimmel:  Ladies and Gentlemen, the winner of the match, in 5 minutes and 1 second...KURT ANGLE!

Non-Title:
Kurt Angle pinned John "Bradshaw" Layfield after the Olympic Slam in 0:05:01.
Rating: ** 3/4

Angle freaks out as he realizes that JBL has made it onto the team.  He slides to the floor and joins in the brawl.  Finally everyone is in the ring fighting after several minutes.

"WELL IT'S THE BIG SHOW!" plays as the US Champions lumbers to the ring.  He then proceeds to destroy EVERYONE in the ring with Chokeslams and powerbombs.  We go off the air with the monster standing among the carnage.

NOTES:

The WWE has released Hardcore Holly.  Recently he has been very vocal in the locker room about his place and he has been released.

Triple H should be ready in time for the Survivor Series.  It hasn't been decided if he will be added to the team because there is a chance he won't be ready.

Expect an announcement concerning the Raw Tag Team Titles on Raw.

WWE is in contract negotiations with Rikishi, Billy Gunn and Test.  It is unknown if they will resign.

On tap for the Velocity this week:

The Bashams vs. Paul London and Mathew
RVD vs. Billy Kidman
The Big and Luther Reigns will be in action.

On Heat:

A-Train and Shelton Benjamin will be action
Tajiri vs. Chuck Palumbo
Nidia vs. Trish

If you couldn't keep Hardcore Holly, I don't think Test, Rikishi, or Billy Gunn deserve new contracts. Holly had some kind of angle going with the Undertaker. Holly is also a very credible worker. Gunn has slipped big time in recent years and Rikishi was nothing more than a joke. Test doesn't deserve any kind of role in a major fed such as the WWE, but I am a Test supporter and look forward to pushing him in the GWC, but I am still looking for a way to do that. However, it was an entertaining show and Smackdown has more fire power than RAW especially if Triple H cant participate.

Survivor Series is shaping up quite nicely. So we've got Angle, Eddie, Booker, Shawn, Undertaker and JBL. By the looks of things Big Show and RVD will be there too. Come to think of it, they do seem to have more firepower than Raw.

JBL as Angle's Limo Driver................hahahahahhahahaha!  I would agree, Smackdown seems to have the stronger team.  Should be interesting.
