ECW-I is COMING!!!

SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/04/04 at 23:43:48

I'm creating a new circuit. I still currently have NWA Universal, but i'm planning my next circuit based on wrestlers (real or fantasy) with NWA Universal & with stars from ECW, Ring of Honor, XPW, Combat Zone Wrestling, as well as Michinoku Pro Wrestling & Big Japan Pro Wrestling, as well as recently released WWE wrestlers & other wrestlers that are under WWE, but are no longer wrestling for them. It will be ECW-I (EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING INTERNATIONAL). I will be announcing my plans in the next upcoming weeks. You thought I hyped up NWF & all the other circuits to jobb my way out. No, Believe me, i'm not jobbing my way out this time. It's going to take alot of convincing & alot of info to bring the fans back to my posts to comment on them. But i'm willing to take the risk. Believe me, i'm going to hype this circuit to death until I reveal this circuit. First of all, Who would you like to see wrestle for ECW-I? I'm taking a poll for this & the top 32 that are voted will be working for ECW-I. This is your circuit, this is for you, THE FANS!!! Let me know on my post, as well as my E-mail:
superstarjimic@yahoo.com

and let me know there as well. Don't be shy, this circuit is for you. To bring back Hardcore Wrestling to the EXTREME on TNM7SE. It's your turn to respond, let me know what wrestlers do you want to see wrestle for the ECW-I circuit. I'm looking to hear from you.
Snabbit888Posted on 11/05/04 at 01:10:18

My advice for the 32 wrestlers you should use?

Wrestlers you want to use.

If you do your entire roster based on what us random people want to see, chances are that you'll quickly tire of the wrestlers you are using and you'll lose interest in the circuit, and poof, there it goes.  Do stuff for yourself first; no one's going to want to read a circuit where the writer obviously doesn't care about some of the wrestlers.
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/05/04 at 01:17:35

Good thinking, Let me ask you, The FANS, on suggestions of the wrestlers that you want to see make their way in ECW-I. There are now three ways to vote or suggest them.

1) Here on this post.

2) E-mail me at:
superstarjimic@yahoo.com

3) My new ECW-I forum at:
http://ecwi.proboards39.com/index.cgi
under ECW-I Updates.
Almost all the boards are password protected so to join my forum, you have to register basically or if you want to vote or make a suggestions about ECW-I without registering, then go under General Board.

Let me know what your votes or suggestions are. Until Saturday, Peace Dawgs, I'm Outta Here!!!

That's the truth.  That's why I gave people like JBL and Heidenreich prominent roles in my circuit.  It's something different...At least to start out with, it could always change.
Snabbit888Posted on 11/05/04 at 04:10:57

Precisely... it's amazing what someone who likes a character can do with them, even if the general concensus is, "Boy, they suck."  Trust me; I'm the guy who somehow managed to make Shaniqua an interesting character. :)  So do what you want, and stop pandering to us, the "FANS."  Do your own thing.
meetzorakPosted on 11/05/04 at 04:24:27

i agree with snabbit on the poll but i you insist.

1.AJ Styles (Always nice to have in your roster

2.RVD

3.Abyss

4.Petey Willams

5.Low-Ki

6.Hector Graza (in my eyes the most underated wrestlers in WCW History)

7.Kronus

8.Saturn

9.Kevin Nash

and

10.Bob Backlund

i'll leave with ten cau8se don't want a whole circut based on just what the fans want.

Snabby's got a point there - I have NEVER booked my circuit for anyone else (bar the occasional reference or personal joke). I simply book it to entertain and amuse myself, and if anyone else enjoys a card I do - bonus!

The first priority of your circuit should be that you have a lot of fun running it. In turn, when someone has a lot of fun running their circuit, it often shows in the cards themselves.

Conversely you could then take someone I would have NEVER voted for (or someone I would have, whichever) and make him incredibly entertaining (think Johnny Ace...) and we'll all love you for it. :)

Still, if you want names anyway, I'll throw out Blue Meanie, Mike Sanders, Hade Vansen, Don Callis and Rico - not because they're necessarily the best wrestlers (though they're hardly a bad bunch) but because I'm sure you can think of something interesting for guys like that.
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/06/04 at 18:41:57

I'm not giving up on this circuit. I told you that i'll be hyping this promotion to death until showtime. I need to ask a few questions.

First of all, meetzorak: Which Bob Backlund would you want to see in ECW-I, the face or the heel? The same goes with Kevin Nash.

91: Which Don Callis, The wrestler or the manager? Let me know.

There's also 10 wrestlers that i'll be looking at signing, since after all, they were just released by the WWE in the last 4 or 5 days.
- Billy Gunn
- A-Train
- Test
- Chuck Palumbo
- Rodney Mack
- Rico
- Johnny Stamboli

If I have a Women's division:
- Nidia
- Gail Kim
- Jazz

There are talks that three more wrestlers are getting releases this weekend:
- Val Venis
- The Hurricane
- Rosey

So let me know, who you would like to see join ECW-I. Former ECW Wrestlers are welcomed to the list.
teddy1221Posted on 11/06/04 at 19:10:04

Here's some guys you can't go wrong signing...American Dragon, Low Ki, Samoa Joe, Homicide, The Briscoe's.  I am very partial to them.
91Posted on 11/06/04 at 23:36:27

Don Callis - whichever you think you can push most productively. Fail that, both.
meetzorakPosted on 11/07/04 at 05:48:38

both heels. ;D

and Vader Face Vader!!!!! (Dramatic music.)

Rick GarrardPosted on 11/07/04 at 16:24:43

A lot of sizzle and no steak.

Post more cards.  And reduce the amount of hype.

Incessantly hyping your circuits and then not posting cards in a timely fashion (within a day or two of the hype) kills your readership.

Begging for replies to posts usually turns a lot of the folks here off.

Just a few helping hints that a LOT of folks here are probably thinking, but just not wanting to type.  And this is not meant to start a flame war, just meant as a few helping tips.
Critic of the DawnPosted on 11/07/04 at 18:50:36

I said something similar a couple months back.  No offense meant or anything, SuperstarJimiC, because you clearly love TNM and enjoy trying new things and all, but if you spent half as much time writing up the results of your cards, giving backgrounds, putting together interviews, and generally giving people more to see than results, your circuits could be pretty fun to read.  At the moment, your stuff is all hype and no delivery, and it's a shame.

By starting threads like this and schilling your new circuits as the greatest thing ever to us the FANS, you're coming across like you're trying desperately to get the board's attention.  And it'll probably work in the short term.  You might get a comment or two on your first few cards, but after that it will fade away again.

Seriously.  I love reading well put together circuits and adding another to the list of those I follow would be great.  So I implore you - when you start your new circuit, impress me, and impress all of us.  Give us strong characterization, match analysis, and a reasonably steady roster so we can get attatched to some of your characters.

As for wrestlers in your circuit...  well, I'm oddly fond of Viscera, so I wouldn't mind seeing him in the mix.  In my opinion he;s the most underutilized useless fatty in wrestling today!

SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/08/04 at 23:35:00

I see your point, Critic of The Dawn. I might actually do that. I got some wrestling DVD's. I'll watch them & see how the promotions operate & watch how creative they are with their promotions. This will be my first time doing my circuit in this fashion. I'm going to try & not let you down. I have new wrestling DVD's when I bought my new DVD-Recorder. So like I said, i'll watch how they companies run their promotions. I'll even watch RAW tonight & see how I can run my circuit. Okay, enough about that. Here are some more names i'll put in the mix.

1) AJ Styles - Former 2-time NWA World Champion.

2) Bob Backlund - Former 3-time WWF World Champion.

3) Sting - Former 6-time WCW World Champion.

4) Tommy Dreamer - Former ECW World Champion.

5) Test - Former WWF European Champion.

6) Billy Gunn - Former 8-time WWE World Tag Team Champion.

7) The Sandman - Former 3-time ECW World Champion.

8) Michael Shane - Former 2-time NWA TNA X-Division Champion.

9) Ultimo Dragon - Former WCW Cruiserweight Champion.

10) Rico - Former 2-time WWE World Tag Team Champion.

So keep voting. The deadline is Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Let me know who you would like to see join
ECW-I. Tomorrow, I will be announcing the belts that ECW-I will have in this circuit. So forget to keep voting. I've changed the number of wrestlers. Instead of 32, it will now be 24 (so wrestlers won't get Lost in The Shuffle). Go ahead your turn now. VOTE!!
HugeRockStar760Posted on 11/09/04 at 01:18:39

Please don't make me wait any longer.
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/09/04 at 23:25:01

Like I said yesterday, that i'm here to announce the championship titles that will be here in ECW-I.

ECW-I World Title.

ECW-I United States Title.

ECW-I World Tag Team Titles.

ECW-I World TV Title.

I've also decided that we're going to have 2 separate ECW-I circuits.

ECW-I East
ECW-I West

That means more titles which i'll announce tomorrow.
So if you have wrestlers that you want to see join
ECW-I, let me know who & i'll put him on the list. With 2 circuits now means that the wrestlers are now up to 30 in each circuit. Which means the deadline is now Monday, November 22, 2004 & the draft will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2004. LIVE on this post. So mark your calendars. Let me know who you want to see as general manager for ECW-I.
americamamushiPosted on 11/10/04 at 00:05:48

I'd say don't add more titles unless you want each federation to have a primary & secondary titles for singles and a tag title.  4 could be enough to start out with with one brand having a predominant tag team division and one singles title and the other having only singles titles and no real tag division (which would be a way to make the brands somewhat distinctive) or just add two more titles (a singles and tag) so each brand has a primary & secondary singles belt and a tag belt.

While I'm here, I agree with some of the other regs.  While all this anticipation you're building up is nice and to a degree realistic with a 'new thing' coming out, I think that for the people on the boards, with all the hype and waiting just being text that the 23rd is a long time to wait till.  I'd like to see this circuit... but I'd also like to see it while I'm still interested in it. ;D

P.S. You can never go wrong with evil Doink... unless you add a midget...
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/10/04 at 01:12:03

I see your point, Americamamushi. I'm changing the deadline now to this Monday, November 15, 2004 & draft day now on Tuesday, November 16, 2004. LIVE on this post. So mark that on your calendars.
Snabbit888Posted on 11/10/04 at 01:55:58

*shakes head*

No more hype.  No calendar marking... just make something happen.  Christ almighty.
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/10/04 at 02:21:44

OOOKKKKK!!!! I'll do the draft tonight & i'll announce the rosters tomorrow on whose wrestling for ECW-I East & West. But, i'll be debuting my shows this weekend & you'll see the results on Monday. Good Enough!!!
HugeRockStar760Posted on 11/10/04 at 04:08:00

No offense, but you can barely run one circuit.  What makes you think you can run two circuits?
