Cerberos's Smackdown 10/21/04 (late)

cerberosPosted on 11/02/04 at 04:00:24

Well since my last card seems to be SUCH a hit here is the next one.  IT IS TIME FOR SMACKDOWN!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Smackdown comes on the air and we see footage from Taboo Tuesday where Raw and Smackdown stars got into a huge brawl at the end William Regal/Triple H match.  We see when Champion Kurt Angle locked in his patented Ankle Lock as well.  We then go to the back and Paul Heyman.

Heyman:  Welcome to another edition of Paul Heyman's Smackdown.  Many of you are wondering how I feel since Shawn Michaels should have gotten a shot at Chris Benoit.  Well I think I proved that the real stars are on Smackdown.  Now I am going to scoop those fools on Raw with footage from after the pay per view went off the air.

We then see what seems to be hand held footage of a brawl in the parking lot between the Raw and Smackdown superstars.  We see a lot of the Big Show throwing around Raw superstars.

Heyman:  As you can see we got the best of the minor leagues.  Tonight we have two title matches and our main event will be "The Whole Damn Show" Rob Van Dam taking on the Number One Contender Booker T.  Eric Bischoff I hope you are watching.

We go to the ring where one half of the tag team champion Johnny Stamboli taking on Kurt Angle's buddy Luther Reigns.  Not a very good match here.  The fans were into Stamboli however.  JTB missed his top rope legdrop which allowed Reigns to hit his Neckbreaker for the win.

Luther Reigns pinned Johnny Stamboli with the Inverted Swinging Neckbreaker in           0:04:24.
Rating: 3/4*

From the back out ran John Cena and Mark Jindrak.  They attack Johnny Stamboli.  Tazz comments on how Nunzio isn't here this week.  Jindrak and Cena hit a version of the hold Hart Attack.  Reigns then throws Cena to the mat screaming about this is his problem.  Jindrak attacks him from behind and they hit him with the Hart Attack as well.

BREAK

After the break we see JBL in the back on the cell phone.

JBL:  SELL SELL SELL YOU IDOIT!  How much will I be losing?  What?  Who?  Why in the hell would that jackass call me.  No don't call him back.  Listen to me very carefully I don't care how many times the Undertaker calls I don't want to talk to him.  He held me back for too long.  So if he calls again just give him the usual business.

JBL hangs his phone up and turns around right into the gloved hand of the Undertaker.

Taker:  Held you back?  If it wasn't for me you would have been fired after the Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw days with that idiot Dutch Mantell.  You want to ignore me, well that isn't going to happen.  I will see you in the ring!

Taker shoves JBL into the lockers as we go to the ring.

In the ring it is time for The Big Show taking on Eddie Guerrero.  This match was back and forth and Eddie seems ready to return to the top of the card.  Eddie hit his Frog Splash but Big Show also caught him by the throat.  Show gets up and gives Eddie the Choke Slam for the win.

The Big Show pinned Eddie Guerrero with the Choke Slam in 0:12:56.
Rating: ** 1/2
(The Big Show retained the WWE US Title.)

In the back we see Scotty 2 Hotty heading to the ring.  He comes around the corner and nearly runs into Paul London and Mathew.

London:  Well if it isn't our Cruiserweight champion.  I would look good in gold don't you think Mathew?

Mathew:  Very good Pauly.

Scotty:  Yeah, well I would love to stay and chat but I got a match.

London:  I have never been treated so rudely.  Doesn't he know that I am the Star?

BREAK

The Undertaker comes out with Misterio and does commentary.  This was back and forth action.  Misterio seemingly had the match won but missed a flying Thesz press.  Scotty quickly hit a second rope bulldog for the win.

Scotty 2 Hotty pinned Rey Misterio after a second rope bulldog in 0:05:03.
Rating: ***
(Scotty 2 Hotty retained the WWE Cruiserweight Title.)

Taker tried to get into the ring but Scotty quickly bailed.

BREAK

We come back and JBL is on his way out for his match with the Dead Man.   This wasn't much of a match as JBL really gets thrown around most of the time.  JBL did hit his Dividends clothesline but that wasn't enough.  Taker ended it with the Tombstone.

The Undertaker pinned John "Bradshaw" Layfield with the Tombstone in 0:05:54.
Rating: * 1/2

Taker:  Now maybe you will learn some respect.

In the back we see Heyman.

Heyman:  I am so glad you guys agreed to come here.  Lets go do this.

Heyman walks out and behind him are the Raw tag team champions, The Spiders.

BREAK

We come back and we see Paul Heyman and the Spiders heading to the ring.

Heyman:  Thank.  First off I want to congratulate the men in the ring on their tag team title victory on Taboo Tuesday.  Now being the revolutionary force in sports entertainment that I am, I am going to do something NO ONE has ever done, unmask the Spiders.

Heyman gets behind the Spiders and rips of the masks and sure enough it is the Dudley Boys!

Heyman:  That's right Eric!  Your tag team champions are appearing on my show.  Do you remember when you tried to get MY ECW CHAMPION TO APPEAR ON NITRO?  DO YOU REMEMBER TELLING HIM TO THROW THE BELT IN THE TRASH...WELL WATCH AND LEARN!!

While Heyman was talking a dumpster had been brought to ringside.

Heyman:  DO IT BOYS!

Bubba and D-Von spit on the belts and throw them in the trash.

Heyman:  How does it feel Eric?  Not so good when it is happening to you.

"NO CHANCE" suddenly plays as Vince McMahon does his power walk to the ring.

McMahon:  GET OUT OF HERE!

He screams at the Dudley's who quickly head to the back.

McMahon:  What in the hell do you think you are doing Paul?

Heyman:  Doing?  I don't understand.

McMahon:  Don't play stupid with me Paul.  What is the deal with you and Eric Bischoff.

Heyman:  Oh.  Well I just took a page out of your book Mr. McMahon.  I will not allow anyone to bully me or my company.

McMahon:  Your company?

Heyman:  Well the company I am in charge of.  When Eric Bischoff was ahead in the wrestling wars you didn't allow him to just push you around did you?  Of course not.  You struck back.  Well this was a blow right to the jaw.

McMahon:  I would say a low blow more like it Heyman.  I know all about people taking championships like you did.

Heyman:  Wait a second, so do I Vince.  I know all about being pushed around because you and Eric both did it to me!  I watched as my dream got destroyed.  I watched as you took my ideas and my wrestlers and talked about being revolutionary.  Well now I have the resources not to have that happen!  Eric Bischoff fired the first shot here not me Vince but I will be damned if I don't fire the last one.

McMahon:  Well this isn't what I had in mind when I created the brand ext...

Heyman:  I don't give a damn what you had in mind!  I will not sit back and watch as once again I get pushed around.

At this point Heyman is actually almost nose to nose with Vince McMahon.

Heyman:  Never again will I get pushed around.  If Eric Bischoff wants a war then he will get a war!

McMahon:  DON'T FORGET WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO!  Well I think I am going to give you two just enough rope to hang yourselves by.  But there is only one event for this to come to head.  That is the Survivor Series.  So the main event will be the BIGGEST match we have EVER had!  At the Survivor Series it will be 10 Raw superstars on one side and 10 Smackdown superstars on the other.  In a winner takes all match!

Heyman:  A winner takes all match?  What do you mean?

McMahon:  Well simply that your career and Eric's career will be on the line.  The winner keeps his job, the loser, well he is FIRED!

We go to break with Heyman looking shocked at the announcement.

We come back and see footage once again of Kurt Angle attacking Triple H at Taboo Tuesday.  Then we see him come to the ringside area and provide commentary for the match.  Throughout the match Angle speculates on what will happen if/when he faces either of these men.  Tazz and Cole talk about if either of the men will be on Team Smackdown and who the captain will be.  During the match basically RVD stalled celebrating most of the time.  Finally Booker seemed ready to win but missed his Scissor Kick.  RVD quickly hit a spinning kick and followed it up with the Frog Splash for the win.

Rob Van Dam pinned Booker T with the Five Star Frog Splash in 0:10:27.
Rating: ****

We go off the air with RVD celebrating and pointing to Kurt Angle.

That's rich coming from him. ;D

The big 20 man tag is certainly the big intriguer. There's all the obvious questions, how will everyone on each side co-exist , which side would the fans be behind, etc etc... Also, the winner of that would be a good indication on whom you've got big plans for so there's extra intrigue there.

For the record, I'm not sure this show will be quite as popular as Taboo Tuesday... :(

An interbrand Survivor Series match is something that should have been done in real life as well. Good idea!

Nice show.  Now I don't feel like putting up my WWE fed, because i would be very much upstaged :) London is right, he is a star...or a star in the making, hopefully big things come from him.  Scotty aint got nothing on Paul. I like this war with Bischoff and Heyman.  THe ppv main event should be a classic.  RVD gets a shot at the big belt. Him and Angle should have a good match, andhopefully RVD can finally rake in that elusive World Title.
