Don Muraco pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. with the Tombstone in 0:01:59.
Rating: ***

Don Muraco has put Jerry Lynn on the shelf in the past few weeks. The number he
did on Raven yesterday saw the former champion return to the States a day
early this morning in a bit of a sorry state. Sadly Chavo Guerrero won't be
much different as Muraco was faced off against him today. Muraco didn't waste
any time at all, shrugging off Chavos quick offense at the start designed to
knock him off his feet, unsuccessfully, and drilled him with a couple of big
moves, finishing him off with the Tombstone. After the ring, Muraco signalled
to one of the cameras focused on him that the title was coming his way very
soon whether the officials of the DWF liked it or not. As we've heard from
Matt Hardy in the past, it's very much a NOT in his eyes, but as unpleasant a
character as Muraco is and as irritating as his manager Jeff Hardy is, who can
seriously deny him his title shot much longer, however much Matt Hardy might
dislike his brother?

Pretty Perfect (Owen Hart and Curt Hennig) defeated
The Young Lions (Christian York and Joey Matthews) when O. Hart made Matthews
submit to the Sharpshooter in 0:09:55.
Rating: *** 3/4

One of the two big matches this Saturday is the tag team Royal Rumble. Pretty much
every team in the DWF has now thrown their name into the hat - Rock'n'Roll
Express, Psychoanalysis, Pretty Perfect, The Pitbulls, The Syndicate, two
teams of Los Guerreros, the MVC, Young Lions and Edge & Christian. Several
matches took place today to hype the royal rumble. The Young Lions, still on
their quest to discover the identity of who attacked Matt Hardy with the
cinder block in December, took on Pretty Perfect. The Lions noted to Matt
Hardy earlier that they had several witnesses lined up back in the States,
which could make for interesting listening. Meanwhile the Lions looked
impressive here, moreso than they have in a long time. Pretty Perfect were
kept on the back foot, but showed their pedigree by hanging on brilliantly and
eventually finishing their younger opponents off. Both teams look good though
heading for this Saturday and a good draw could well be what seals the titles.

Low Ki pinned Alex Wright with the Ki Krusher '99 in 0:08:14.
Rating: *** 1/2
(Low Ki retained the Cruiserweight Title.)

Also in action today was Low Ki defending his cruiserweight title against Alex
Wright. Wright used a little cheap heat by pointing out how Germany has better
football teams that Britain, better cars, better car drivers and a better
economy. Whilst he might have a point, he wasn't making any friends. Low Ki
was never his friend anyway and he took care of Wright comfortably today.

Dean Malenko pinned Masato Tanaka after a powerbomb in 0:09:39.
Rating: *** 3/4

Triple Threat are still ironing out their differences in the ring. Following a
surprise win for Masato Tanaka last night, he faced off against Dean Malenko
today. The fans seemed uncertain at first who to side with - they didn't seem
keen on Chris Benoit whose attitude towards his teammates in the final few
months. Malenko was an unknown quantity while Tanaka seemed to be gaining the
support with him taking out Benoit and Malenko in the ring rather than with
bitter words, all before International Incident. The win last night furthered
fan support for him as the underdog in the match who actually got the job
done, and the fans were behind him today against Malenko. That said, nobody
knew where Malenko really stood before hand. The two engaged in a good match,
until Benoit sauntered down and took a shot at Tanaka from the apron while the
ref was looking elsewhere. Malenko put Tanaka away with a powerbomb and got the
duke. Malenko showed his colours from there by spitting on a fallen Tanaka as
he left the ring. That said, both he and Tanaka will doubtless face Benoit in
the coming weeks. Benoit particularly wants Tanaka, stating in a backstage
interview his fury at Tanaka for embarassing him with his own hold.

Four Corners Match:
The Miracle Violence Connection (Steve Williams and Terry Gordy) defeated
Edge & Christian (Edge and Christian),
Los Guerreros (Hector Guerrero and Mando Guerrero) and
The Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson):
x S. Williams beat R. Gibson via the Oklahoma Stampede in 0:05:50
x Christian beat M. Guerrero via the Unprettier in 0:12:02
x T. Gordy beat Christian via the Asiatic Spike in 0:13:31
Rating: *** 1/2

Four teams took part in a four corners match, drawn at random from the list of
current participants in the Royal Rumble. Former champs Edge & Christian and
the Rock'n'Roll Express appeared as well as the Miracle Violence Connection and
Hector & Mando. The Guerrero representatives on this night did a little
cheating and stealing as they stayed off the apron and snuck around the ring
for a while to avoid the action while the other three teams went at it. That
said, they still had their uses, with Hector tripping Robert Gibson from the
outside and allowing the doctor, Steve Williams, to hit him with the Oklahoma
Stampede and score a surprise first elimination. Edge and Christian went at it
with the MVC after that, until the Guerreros antics on the outside became too
much for them, and they forced them into the match, with Christian putting
Mando away with the Unprettier. The Canadian duo looked good for a victory,
but hadn't reckoned on the quick thinking of Terry Gordy, who caught Christian
with the Asiatic Spike as the plucky Canadian lept from the top. That was
enough to put him away and the MVC had a big win going into the Rumble.

Steve Corino pinned Ken Shamrock with the Old School Explusion in 0:11:27.
Rating: ****
(Steve Corino retained the Television Title.)

Also taking an early flight home was Billy Kidman, still reeling after last
nights loss and not fancying showing his face tonight. Steve Corino didn't have
a choice, contractually obliged to take on Ken Shamrock tonight. After beating
Shamrocks tag partner Lance Storm last night in a classic, Corino followed it
up today with another fine win. Shamrock gave it all he had, grounding Corino
with holds and counter holds, but one second is all it takes with Corino, and
as Shamrock placed him on the turnbuckles for a move, Corino jumped off and
hit the Old School Explusion. Seeing as NOBODY has ever got up from that,
Corino had himself another win.

Eddie Guerrero pinned Brian Pillman with the Frog Splash in 0:07:30.
Rating: *** 1/4

Pretty Perfects evening didn't end with beating the Young Lions. Interviewed
after the match, they set out to make derogatory remarks about some of their
opponents this Saturday, noting how easily they'd beaten the Young Lions
(hardly easy, but a win's a win) and how teams like the Pitbulls and Syndicate
weren't in their league. Moments earlier, Eddie Guerrero had scored a fine
victory over Brian Pillman and this sparked Pretty Perfect to highlight this
as their reason Psychoanalysis wouldn't win either. Hart and Hennig claimed
Psychoanalysis were a one man team, with O'Haire getting all the success, all
the fame, all the title shots and all the focus, with Pillman being the tag
along guy to make up the numbers and with him dragging the team down. Whether
this fires up or disillussions Pillman this weekend we'll have to see.

Chris Jericho and Dynamite Kid defeated Brad Armstrong and Kurt Angle when
Dynamite Kid pinned B. Armstrong after a superplex in 0:14:56.
Rating: *** 3/4

Dynamite Kid now knows what his first title defense will comprise of, as he
intends to put away a sworn enemy once and for all. Kurt Angle, as we know, was
announced as the #1 contender recently, and with Dynamite Kid winning the
belt, the match was signed for this Saturday. Kurt Angle is looking to make
Dynamites reign as champion a very short one, as well as putting a dent in
British pride (which he claims is non existant). Angle is obviously looking
for some payback for Wrestlefest, and may be already half way there. Using a
little contractual wrangling, the match this Saturday will now be a ladder
match. Dynamite is doubtless unphased by this, having won the Intercontinental
title many moons ago in such a match, but if Angle feels confident enough to
undertake such a match, more power to him.

With such a match in mind, tonights main event saw a little tag team action.
Dynamite and Angle captained opposing teams, with Dynamite pairing off with
Chris Jericho, out for revenge with Angle. Angle meanwhile partnered
Intercontinental champion Brad Armstrong. Armstrongs pre-match promo leeched
some more off some old Rock promos, proclaiming himself as the peoples
champion in the eyes of the British crowd present. Angle meanwhile was more
disgusted with the fans, looking forward to his flight home (now delayed until
Wednesday so he can get a flight on American West as opposed to British
Airways). Right from the get go, Jericho concentrated his efforts on Angle the
whole time, Angle meanwhile happy to go at both men he considered as "the
enemy". Jericho managed to single out Angle superbly, brawling with him on
the outside, as Dynamite Kid took care of Brad Armstrong, champion versus
champion. Dynamite took control and finished Brad with a crushing superplex to
the delight of the partisan crowd. Kurt meanwhile will be looking to Saturday
and what he perceives as home advantage... not that many will particularly be
behind him.

Card rating: *** 1/2

Match observations:

Concerning the Rumble, Matt Hardy has also confirmed that there will be a few
mystery teams entering as well. Could be interesting. Speaking of Hardy,
Fleisch barged into his office earlier, as ever, to criticise Hardys way of
thinking and booking. He told of his anger that Hardy made the Young Lions
bother his family and friends and that until he has any proof, he should leave
him alone. Meanwhile Fleisch is also convinced he has all the proof he needs
to show how terrible Hardy is as commissioner. A bit harsh certainly, but
Fleisch also expressed a wish to be in this Saturdays Rumble. Hardy agreed,
but only with a partner of his choosing. Fleisch quickly countered, worridly,
that Hardy would probably stick him with a duff partner. Hardy simply smiled
wrily.

Larry Zbyszko was the guest on King Kanyons 'Kings Court' segment, as he and
Coach predicted great things for Larry. Larry has certainly been on form with
those wins over Jerry Lynn (sort of) and Rob Van Dam. Both controversial as
they may have been, Larry did argue that not many people had even managed
cheap, controversial victories over Lynn and Van Dam, which actually isn't a
bad point. Larry also promised to be the next King of the Ring, having thrown
his name into the hat just yesterday. He's not a bad pick for sure, but there
will doubtless be others in there with just as good a shot.

**On a side note, I post this circuit on another set of boards as well, with four regulars reading and throwing in predictions. The boards went down for a month due to the hurricane in Florida and went back up about a week ago. Having updated them with International Incident a little later than here, all four posted their predictions beforehand... and Snabbit won. Doh.**

Hey, no shame in that.  I'm a smart guy... of course I won!  Woo! :)

Nice little card here.  Nothing monumental, but the big Saturday card is shaping up nicely.  Dynamite vs. Angle in a ladder match for the World Title is huge, and I'm really interested in seeing who wins the tag team Rumble.  I predict Dynamite retains and Pretty Perfect become two time champions.  Looking forward to it.
