Held in: MAURICE NIGHTCLUB
Location: QUEBEC, CANADA
Date/Time: Sept 24/04 at 7:00pm
Matches/Interviews booked: 9
Attendance: 215

JHW returned to Quebec, Canada for more wrestling action. 215 fans turned out to the Maurice nightclub to see the JHW World tag titles be crowned as well as the other JHW superstars in action.

Our first match was a round one contest in the tag title tournament. AJ Styles and The Amazing Red did battle with The Backseat Boyz (Johnny Kashmere & Trent Acid).

The match started out slow but mid way through, we saw some nice action as The Amazing Red tossed Acid to the floor and then followed him with a running somersault plancha. The two of them brawled on the floor for a few seconds and then took it back into the ring where The Amazing Red took it to the air again with a corkscrew legdrop. He then went for a SSP but Acid moved out of the way. Trent Acid had the advantage now and hit a springboard legdrop on Red. He then took Red to the turnbuckle and hit a reverse top rope Frankensteiner for a 2 count.

Later on, Acid hit an Acid Bomb on The Amazing Red that sent Red colliding right into the referee. Another referee quickly came down and officiated until the original referee was able to regain his senses.

AJ Styles tried to finish Trent Acid off with the Air Raid Crash followed by a spiral tap but only got a 2 count.  He then went up top for a frog splash but still only got 2.

The Backseat Boyz almost had the win after their double team finisher, the T-Gimmick but Amazing Red was able to save AJ from being pinned. Johnny Kashmere then threw AJ Styles out of the ring but AJ Styles hung on to the top rope for dear life and pulled himself back in. He went up tope and hit an amazing Asai moonsault into an inverted DDT on Johnny Kashmere. He followed up with a spiral tape and got a 3 count win for himself and Amazing Red.

[Round 1]:
AJ Styles and The Amazing Red defeated
The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere) when AJ pinned Kashmere after a spiral tap in 0:19:01.
Rating: *** 3/4

Our second match of the night was the other first round contest in the tag title tournament as Sabu & RVD did battle with Michael Shane & Kazarian. The match went for a good length before a winner was declared.

RVD and Kazarian started off but RVD quickly tagged out to Sabu who locked Kazarian in a half crab. Kazarian was able to break the hold after about 11 seconds and Sabu kept the offense on Kazarian with a forearm to the back. Kazarian made the tag to Shane and Sabu tagged in RVD. Shane begged off but RVD wanted nothing of it as he tossed Shane to the outside and flew over the top rope on to him with a tope. Sabu comes over and sets up a chair. He then gets a running start and springs off the chair with a spinning leg lariat to Shane.

RVD and Shane continued to brawl on the outside before RVD tossed Shane back in the ring. He grabbed the chair and climbed back in as well. RVD then set the chair up and hit Shane with a Hotshot on the chair. RVD tagged in Sabu who clotheslined Shane to the outside.

The referee got to a 6 count before Shane was able to make it back in the ring. Sabu went to attack Shane but Shane got a knee up to Sabu's midsection and then tagged in Kazarian.

Shane & Kazarian hit Sabu with a double superkick and Shane leaves the ring. Kazarian bounces off the ropes and Sabu nails him with a boot to the face. RVD comes in the ring.  He hits the Rolling Thunder on Kazarian and Sabu covers him for the 3 count to advance to the finals.

[Round 1]:
Sabu and Rob Van Dam defeated Michael Shane and Frankie Kazarian when Sabu pinned Kazarian after the Rolling Thunder in 0:12:35.
Rating: ** 3/4

We took a break from the tag title tournament for some singles action. Our first singles bout of the night put Altar Boy Luke in the ring against Chris Sabin. Some of the highlights of the match were:

- Altar Boy Luke hitting Sabin with a Liger Bomb on a chair for a 2 count.

- Luke hits a top rope frankensteiner for a 2 count.

- Chris Sabin goes for a clothesline but Luke ducked and Sabin hit the referee. This worked against Sabin as he hit his Running Forearm Smash and covered Luke but the referee was still knocked out. Sabin tried to revive the referee and then hit another Forearm Smash and covered Luke. The referee crawled over for a 2 count.

- Luke went for a spinning power bomb but only got a 2 count so he went for a Liger bomb and it got him the 3 count.

Altar Boy Luke pinned Chris Sabin after the Liger Bomb in 0:05:43.

CM Punk and Jerry Lynn wrestled next in a decent match. CM Punk was the victim of an accident prone referee being assigned to the match as on several occasions the referee was knocked out either when Punk was a victim of a submission move or pinning Lynn.

Early in the match, Lynn hit a single leg takedown into a leglock that had had to fight for 27 seconds while the referee was unconcious. After this, a second referee came down to officiate. The original referee eventually woke up but got knocked out again when Jerry Lynn hit Punk with a flying cross body press.

The second referee was still at ringside and took over as the official until the first ref was revived.

Jerry Lynn went for a dropkick and ended up inadvertedly hitting the first ref putting right back down to the mat.  CM Punk hit an armlock legsweep DDT on Jerry Lynn and covered but the ref was unable to make the count. CM Punk then hit the Pepsi Plunge and covered Lynn. The second official made the 3 count and CM Punk won the match.

Jerry Lynn thought this was a bit unfair and was very upset over the ref being knocked out and a new ref making the 3 count. He challenged Punk to a rematch next week.

CM Punk pinned Jerry Lynn with the Pepsi Plunge in 0:13:55.
Rating: ** 1/2

Interview:
Alex Shelley came out and spoke about how he should've been the JHW World champ. He then proceeded to challenge Psicopa to a title match next week.

Psicopa came out to the ring and told Shelley that he accepts the challenge. He then said how the fans deserve to see a little preview of that match and they began to brawl.

JHW officials broke them up and Shelley challenged Psicopa to find a tag partner and meet him in the ring later on. Psicopa told him "You're on!".

Our next match on the card was Lo Ki versus Jack Evans. The match was steady for awhile until Evans went for a spinning heel kick on Lo-Ki, who pulled the referee in the way. From there, all hell broke loose as Lo-Ki and Evans spilled to the outside and proceeded to brawl around ringside. At one point, Lo-Ki hit the Ki Krusher on Evans on the concrete floor.

Evans was out cold and Lo-Ki continued to beat Evans down and went back in the ring. Evans was laid on the floor as was the referee while Lo-Ki taunted the crowd from inside the ring. Evans woke up and brought a table into the ring as the referee began to stir. Evans attacked Lo-Ki from behind and hit him with a clothesline that sent Lo-Ki to the outside. They brawled on the outside again with Lo-Ki getting the upper hand.

The match ended when Lo-Ki took Evans back in the ring, hit the Ki Krusher and covered for the 3 count as the crowd rung out with boos for Lo-Ki.

Low Ki pinned Jack Evans with the Ki Krusher in 0:07:26.

Kell came to the ring with a chair in hand and put it to good use with a springboard bulldog off the chair. The only thing was Lyger saw it coming and reversed it into a back suplex. Kell quickly turned into a go behind and hit a German Suplex that put both men's shoulders on the mat.

The referee counted 2 before Kell lifted a shoulder and then Lyger kicked out. Kell hit Lyger with a power bomb on the chair and went for a cover but only got a 2 count.

The end of the match came when Lyger went for a tiger suplex but Kell countered with a go behind. He then hit a German Suplex on Lyger for the 3 count.

Justin Kell pinned Jyushin Lyger after a German suplex in 0:08:43.
Rating: ** 1/4

We returned to tag action as our semi main event was Psicopa and his tag partner, 'The Biz' wrestled Alex Shelley and his tag partner, Kid Kash.

Mid way through the match, 'The Biz' was busted open after Kid Kash threw him out of the ring, hit him with a Springboard Somersault Plancha and then tossing him into the ringsteps. Kash and Bisignano continued to brawl around ringside while the ref got up to a 7 count, prompting Kash to return inside the ring.

Kash tagged Shelley as The Biz re-entered the ring. Shelley took the offense on The Biz for awhile but The Biz was able to make the hot tag to Psicopa who wanted a piece of Shelley badly. They brawled for a bit and Psicopa tagged The Biz back in.

The Biz tossed Shelley out of the ring and hit a running somersault plancha on Shelley. The Biz went to clothesline Shelley but Shelley ducked under and pushed The Biz against the guardrail. He then tossed The Biz back in the ring and hit the SHELL SHOCK for the 3 count on The Biz.

Shelley got in Psicopa's face post match and told him the belt was coming home with him next week.

Alex Shelley and Kid Kash defeated Psicopa and Mike Bisignano when Shelley pinned The Biz with the Shell Shock in 0:11:19.

Our main event was the finals of the tag tournament as Sabu & RVD faced The Amazing Red & AJ Styles.

RVD and AJ started off the match and took to the air early as AJ went for a springboard 450 splash on RVD but RVD got his knees up. RVD went for the 5* Frog Splash and may have gotten the 3 if Red had not came in to break the count and save AJ Styles.

The end of the match came when Sabu hit the Triple Jump Moonsault on AJ Styles.

[Tag Title match]: No-Time-Limit-Match for the vacant Tag Team Title:
Sabu and Rob Van Dam defeated AJ Styles and The Amazing Red when Sabu pinned AJ with the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:11:35.

Good card.  Your fed seems to be coming together nicely.  I'm not super familiar with all your wrestlers, but I like Hi Fly Wrestling so far. :)

Predictions for next week...

I think Alter Boy Luke will pull a giant upset over Liger... why?  Because TNM hates us all ;)  But is ABL win, will Liger keep the Ligerbomb on as a finisher?

Sabu & RVD will win

And I think Alex Shelley will take the world title home when all is said and done

Question: Do you run booked or unbooked?  Just curious :)

Alot of the guys are indy wrestlers (Jack Evans, Trent Acid, Kashmere) and some are fantasy (Kell & Biz). Thanks for being a fan tho.

I won't ruin anything but yea, if Lyger loses, i would change his finisher.

Who is Psicopa? Being that he's your champion, I thought I'd probe a little into him in particular. The circuit is an interesting concept for sure. For it to really pay off, you'd need to differentiate each match as being different (which you seem to be doing so far). It's a bit like ECW where when you've got so many hardcore matches that everything sometimes would seem the same. But like I said, no problems with the first two cards at least.

Oh yeah, this confused me - unless I wasn't paying attention somewhere, I'm not getting something. The fed is called Hi Fly Wrestling, but you refered to it being JHW. What's that an acronym for

Yea - i named the circuit Hi Fly Wrestling but somehow the acronym JHW (Junior HI-FLY Wrestling)kept sticking in my head. I'm gonna keep calling it JHW but in the subject line of all my future posts, i'm gonna put HI FLY WRESTLING (JHW).
