Devon Storm pinned Paul Roma after a slingshot legdrop in 0:04:26.
Rating: ** 1/2

Intercontinental title on the line this Sunday, Devon Storm, after a year of Brad
Armstrong irritating him and showing up while he was in action, finally gets his shot
at Brad. Brad has looked good since making his return to the ring, but Devon
Storm is on a winning streak and looking for his first Intercontinental title
reign in some six years, he got another win today over Paul Roma (using blacker
face paint to symbolise blacker signs of evil). Brad would pop up on the big
screen as Devon celebrated the win, and cut another Rock-style promo on him,
not impressing Devon, or anyone else.

Billy Kidman pinned Rey Mysterio after a reverse sunset in 0:08:53.
Rating: *** 1/2
(Billy Kidman retained the Heavyweight Title.)

Billy Kidman was very impressive despite being put under such pressure. Willing
to put his title on the line against ANYONE, he accepted a challenge this morning from
Rey Mysterio, and what we had was a very tight match, with Rey coming close on
several occassions, including a heart stopping near fall after hitting the 619.
In the end, Kidmans quickness proved to be the turning point - granted Rey is
no slow man, he may be quicker on his feet than anyone in wrestling, but
Kidman is fast proving to be a quick thinker. Side stepping a charge, he
instantly was able to roll Rey up with a reverse sunset for the win. Incredibly
close stuff, but no questioning the fact that Kidman looked strong here, and
that Rey is still a force to be reckoned with.

It wasn't all glory for Mysterio though, as Los Guerreros, all four of them,
jumped him after the match in a show of cowardice. Eddie accepted the
challenge from Low Ki, Kid Kash and Mysterio, saying that they would take them
on 4 on 3 at International Incident. Not a chance - Chavo Guerrero came out,
mic in hand, and pointed out he was best qualified to join the opposing side,
and added himself to this match (and yes, that HAS been made official now).
With Chavos win over Eddie last month at Wrestlefest, and all the knowledge he
has of his father and uncles, he'll be the key to this match.

Pretty Perfect defeated Psychoanalysis when C. Hennig pinned Pillman with the
Perfect Plex in 0:12:21.
Rating: *** 1/4

The talk of the town right now is of the tag team championship. With it being
less than two weeks until the tag team Royal Rumble, everyone is making their
predictions as to who will come out on top. Rock'n'Roll Express, Edge &
Christian, The Pitbulls, maybe even Kidman & Corino if they choose to enter.
Two of the most widely suggested names, as always for this sort of thing, are
Pretty Perfect and Psychoanalysis. In a rematch from the final match of the
tag team turmoil two months ago, they went at it again today in a little
preview of the Rumble and it was Pretty Perfect coming through, with a mix of
excellent tag team strategy and timely double teaming. Not necessarily fair,
but a win is a win. Still, Psychoanalysis cannot be counted out...

Lance Storm made Phil Lafon submit to the Maple Leaf in 0:06:13.
Rating: ****

Lance Storm battles for the television title and may be as tough an opponent
as Corino could wish for. Lance made short work of former tag team champion
Phil LaFon, who'll hope to do better against Ricky Morton this Sunday, and
looked in such good form that the announce team were already saying that this
man could be the next champion. Lance had a few words for Corino, saying the
lump on Corinos head would be nothing compared to what he was going to do to
Corino this Sunday if it was required in order to win the title. This one may
well be the closest match on the PPV.

Dynamite Kid pinned Jody Fleisch with the Swandive Headbutt in 0:08:26.
Rating: *** 3/4

The main event for International Incident will be Billy Kidman
taking on Dynamite Kid, back in his home country, for the world title. After
last weeks defeat, Dynamite was quick to get back to winning ways, defeating
Jody Fleisch in impressive fashion. Fleisch had been added to the match as a
punishment by Matt Hardy after Fleisch had stormed Matt Hardys office and
demand that professionals be put in charge of the investigation behind the
attack on Hardy several months ago. The Young Lions, who had been hiding
behind the door the entire time, popped out and said they were going to use
that last remark as evidence. Fleisch was shocked at their idiocy, wanting to
know what "evidence" this was and how it could possibly incriminate him, then
said that yes, he was indeed forty-six times better than Matt Hardy. And thus
he had his match with Dynamite.

Dynamite was in excellent form, but Fleisch may still get a little joy yet.
Later that night, John Cena was sent a challenge from The Pitbulls for a tag
match at International Incident. Through Cenas vows to let down their tyres,
order them some takeaway they didn't want and stealing their doormats so that
they would always muddy up their carpets, forcing them to clean their carpets
and increasing the risk of injuring their backs whilst doing so, he realised
he needed himself a partner. As it happened, he bumped into Fleisch backstage
and invited him to tag along. Fleisch accepted, seeing it as a chance to get
back to his home country too - whilst he'll never be as warmly received as
Dynamite in England, he might just get a good response yet.

Kurt Angle pinned Christian with the Olympic Slam in 0:09:12.
Rating: *** 1/4

Pretty Perfect would show up again for the Kurt Angle vs Christian match. With
Angle making this challenge to yet another Canadian scum unclean immigrant,
perhaps just to send a message to Chris Jericho, it instantly became country vs
country. Christian was doing alright for himself until we got a live shot on
the big screen of Pretty Perfect doing a number on Edge backstage. The
distraction was enough and Angle scored another win. He couldn't rest on his
laurels yet though - Christian may have sprinted backstage to aid his fallen
brother (Pretty Perfect were gone by the time he reached Edge, but bar some
cuts and bruises, Edge will be fine for Sunday) - but Chris Jericho was in the
building and came out to lambast Angle and cut him down with a series of
insults. Angles comebacks were a little lamer - "you smell", "you're stupid",
"I am rubber, you are glue" and so forth. All Angle really has is the ability
to insult somebodies home country, and eventually he resorted to that, stating
that as a Canadian, he'll never be as well perceived, well off or well treated
as a glorious American like Angle. We'll see Sunday, perhaps.

Los Guerreros (Chavo Classic and Eddie Guerrero) defeated Kid Kash and Low Ki
when E. Guerrero pinned Kid Kash with the Frog Splash in 0:07:01.
Rating: *** 3/4

In a little preview of the eight man tag on Sunday, Eddie and Chavo Classic would
also take on Low Ki and Kid Kash, with the Guerrero clan coming out on top
following Chavos lying by accusing Low Ki of bringing in a pair of brass
knucks and whilst the ref checked Low Ki out, Eddie and Chavo decked Kid Kash
two on one and Eddie finished him off with the Frog Splash.

Larry Zbyszko defeated Jerry Lynn by disqualification in 0:12:16.
Rating: ***

By the looks of things, any chance of seeing Jerry Lynn at International
Incident are out of the question, but now we will have a man who claims (and
has proven) to be practically unbeatable, Don Muraco, taking on the last man
to hold the heavyweight title of the world, Raven. Muraco it seems was keeping
a close eye on Jerry Lynns first match since Wrestlefest in tonights main event
against Larry Zbyszko. Any chance of Jonathon Coachman being a nuisance were
wiped out when Lynn knocked him silly with a punch early on, and Coach wisely
took a back seat for the rest of the match. Larry put up a slightly better
fight, but Lynn was unquestionably the better man, using his size, strength,
speed and ferocity to dominate until Don Muraco lumbered out to cause trouble.
Leaping in the ring, he shoved Zbyszko aside and went right to it with Lynn.
Lynn quickly won a slugfest, and went to pick up Muraco, only for Muracos
manager Jeff Hardy to kick him from behind. Lynn spun round and caught Jeff no
problem, but it left another opening for Muraco to get yet another Tombstone
Piledriver on Lynn. This time, he wanted to hallmark it - Jeff found himself a
chair, slid it into the ring and Muraco delivered not one, but TWO piledrivers
on the chair, leaving Lynn out cold. Finally Raven got word of what was going
on and sprinted out to make the save. Muraco had no desire to engage in a
second slugfest and backed out whilst Raven checked on his fallen friend.
Grabbing a mic, he said if that's how Muraco wanted to play it, then he could
play those games, and accepted his original challenge for International
Incident.

Lynn meanwhile was knocked cold and medics came down to stretcher him out,
worried about a neck injury - Jerry Lynn, undoubtedly the most dominant force
ever in the DWF being stretchered off, a sight we thought we'd never see, and
Don Muraco was the man responsible. As if that wasn't bad enough, the black
icing on the poison cake for Lynn was that because Muraco had initially pushed
down Larry Zbyszko (who spent the attack hiding on the outside), the referee
had no choice but to award HIM the match by disqualification. Larry and Coach
celebrated like idiots and Larry insisted on having his arm raised constantly,
his music being played and the chance for him and Coach to embrace a lot in
victory, all the while Lynn was only just being wheeled back down the aisle.
Such insensitivity doesn't always go unnoticed...

Card rating: *** 1/2

Match observations:

The Triple Threat situation has lead to a Triple Threat match this Sunday.
Chris Benoit came out and stated that if Masato Tanaka considered himself a
part of this, then he guessed that Tanaka would have to be added to the mix,
but Benoit made it very clear that Tanaka was a bit player in this, he'd only
been in the group a matter of months and this issue was really between him and
Malenko. Malenko, it seems, has a similar opinion of Tanaka, being of the
opinion that this is between him and Benoit, and Tanaka is nothing more than a
fringe inclusion in this feud. Still, commissioner Matt Hardy has signed a
Triple Threat match for this Sunday to settle this one.
