[GCW] Monday Night Explosion - 7/12/04

Snabbit888Posted on 09/15/04 at 01:16:54

In only six days, Global Championship Wrestling will invade the realm of pay-per-view yet again as chaos will reign! Before we got to Atlanta and Chaos Reigns, however, we still had one more stop, that being Greenville, South Carolina for Monday Night Explosion! We still don't know who the number-one contender is to Chris Benoit's World Heavyweight Title, and we had some big matches on tap! The tumultuous relationship of Triple X will be pushed to the limit as Low-Ki, Elix Skipper, and the mysterious Christopher Daniels take on Monty Brown, The Hurricane, and Cruiserweight champion Rey Mysterio Jr.! Also, in a preview of the World Tag Team Title Match at Chaos Reigns, Shelton Benjamin will go one-on-one with Doug Basham! And in a huge match just signed this morning, Chris Jericho, Steve Bradley, and North American champion Randy Orton of the Sensationals will take on Lance Storm, Eddie Guerrero, and Shawn Michaels in a six-man tag match! The show kicked off with a bang too, as out came the World Heavyweight champion himself, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit!

* * * * *

[After the introduction and pyro goes off to start Explosion, "Whatever" by Our Lady Peace plays to a huge pop. Out from the back comes the World Heavyweight champion "The Crippler" Chris Benoit. Benoit holds up the World Heavyweight Title and shows it to both sides of the arena before he makes his way into the ring. After holding the title up again to the various sides of the arena, he takes the microphone from William Buck. After the music stops and the crowd dies down, Benoit speaks.]

CB: There is one thing for certain and that's that in six days, I will be defending the World Heavyweight Title at Chaos Reigns. I have made it abundantly clear that I am willing to defend my title against anyone, any place, any time. I also pride myself on being the most prepared wrestler in the world today. I live this business. I study tape, I compile scouting reports, I know all of my opponent's strengths and all of their weaknesses. But it's extremely difficult to scout an opponent when you don't even know who the opponent is going to be! That's why I'm asking for President Niemiller to come out here and tell me who the number-one contender to my title is. I don't care if it's Kurt Angle. I don't care if it's Booker T. I don't care if it's that big ape Brock Lesnar. I just want to know who I'm going to be making tap at Chaos Reigns!

[Crowd pops at Benoit's intensity. After a few moments, GCW President Ryan Niemiller comes down to the ring to a small murmur. Niemiller gets in the ring and grabs a microphone that William Buck is handing him.]

RN: Mr. Benoit, you're completely right. You should have been informed of who the number-one contender was well before now, but the truth is, there wasn't a number-one contender named until early in the afternoon today. The GCW Championship Committee and myself have had several meetings this week trying to find a fair solution to this controversy. So after much deliberation, it has been determined that you, Chris Benoit, will defend the World Heavyweight Title at Chaos Reigns, July 18th in Atlanta, Georgia, against Kurt Angle... [Crowd boos]... Booker T, and Brock Lesnar in an Elimination Fatal Fourway Match!

[The crowd lets out a pretty big pop as four of the biggest stars in Global Championship Wrestling will all be in the ring wrestling for the biggest prize in the game. Benoit's initial reaction is one of being a little less than pleased.]

CB: So you're telling me that after waiting for three weeks to find out who the number-one contender is, that now there are three number-one contenders?

RN: I know it's not exactly an ideal situation for you, but I couldn't in good conscience give the title shot to one man over the other two. And to make things fair, all four of you will be involved in singles matches tonight. Kurt Angle will wrestle Goldust, Booker T will take on Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar will meet Tommy Dreamer, and in tonight's main event, you, Chris Benoit will take on Television champion AJ Styles in a non-title match!

[The crowd pops at these match announcements.]

CB: That's fine. I'm going to prove exactly why I'm the best technical wrestler in the world today, and why I am the World Heavyweight champion by beating Kurt Angle, Booker T, and Brock Lesnar one-by-one. I'm the champion, they're not. They're going to have to PROVE ME WRONG!

["Whatever" by Our Lady Peace plays again as Benoit briefly stares down Niemiller before holding his World Heavyweight Title high. Cut to commercial.]

Match #1
"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown/The Hurricane/Rey Mysterio Jr. (Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Triple X (w/ Daffney/Sean O'Haire)
Six-man tag action kicked off the wrestling tonight as Triple X, who have had their problems as of late, took on the makeshift team of Monty Brown, The Hurricane, and the Cruiserweight champion Rey Mysterio Jr. Triple X had Daffney and Sean O'Haire down at ringside with them, but it almost seemed to be more of a distraction to Low-Ki and Elix Skipper than an assistance. Low-Ki and Skipper feel that Christopher Daniels is slowly replacing them with O'Haire, and thus they're trying far too hard in the ring. Their opponents were an odd pairing as well, especially since The Hurricane is one of three men challenging Rey Mysterio Jr. for the Cruiserweight Title at Chaos Reigns (in addition to Daniels and Teddy Hart), and Monty Brown wanting to get his hands on Sean O'Haire, but the strange trio worked very well together.

This was a hot opener, but much of the contest was dominated by the faces. Triple X couldn't seem to work together in the very least. Low-Ki and Elix Skipper kept trying to one-up each other instead of trying to win the match, and Christopher Daniels looked as if he was talking to some invisible being for much of this match. In the end, it looked as if Rey Mysterio Jr. was about to put Low-Ki away with the West Coast Pop when Daniels nodded to Sean O'Haire. O'Haire grabbed Mysterio off the apron and threw him backward into the guardrail, prompting an immediate disqualification.

Rey Mysterio Jr., Monty Brown and The Hurricane defeated Triple X (Christopher Daniels, Elix Skipper and Low-Ki) when Mysterio Jr. defeated Low-Ki by disqualification in 0:13:40.
Rating: ** 1/2

O'Haire stalked Mysterio, but he was cut off by Monty Brown who ran around the side of the ring and floored O'Haire with a huge clothesline. Brown and O'Haire began exchanging blows until the GCW Official Brigade came and separated the two big powerful men. When both of these men collide again, things could get very ugly. We know that both O'Haire and Brown are involved in the Hardcore Invitational at Chaos Reigns, so this could get nasty.

Match #2
"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer vs. Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar found out that he would be one of three men to challenge Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight Title at Chaos Reigns, and I guess he was happy about it (or about as happy as Lesnar can be). Tommy Dreamer is a tough guy, and even holds a pinfall victory over Brock Lesnar, but there would be no repeat of that tonight. Dreamer took it straight to Lesnar as you would expect, but the monster just wasn't going to be sidetracked tonight. After dissecting Dreamer with a variety of belly-to-belly suplexes and bodylocks, Lesnar put Dreamer away via an absolutely massive powerslam.

Brock Lesnar pinned Tommy Dreamer after a powerslam in 0:06:47.
Rating: ** 3/4

Brock Lesnar looks to be firing on all cylinders going into Chaos Reigns. Could we be looking at the next World Heavyweight champion?

Match #3
The Amazing Red vs. Teddy Hart
We knew this match had the potential to be fantastic as two of most promising cruiserweights in the world went at it with The Amazing Red going up against one of the men who will wrestle for the Cruiserweight Title at Chaos Reigns, Teddy Hart. Hart may be a little immature and unpolished, but he knew that a loss tonight would be crippling to his chances of winning the Cruiserweight Title at Chaos Reigns. This match was by no means a technical masterpiece, as that's not what either man does. Instead, this almost became a game of "top this" as Red and Hart took it to the air or tried to surprise the other with an innovative move out of nowhere. The fans in Greenville, South Carolina are very old school, but they ate up this very new school match.

The ending came as Red had Hart down after a high speed sunset flip power bomb and hit a Red Star Press which got him a nearfall. Red went up to the top rope to finish this match off, but the rigors of the match made him slow to the top, giving Hart time to get up and bring Red down with a flying huracanrana. Hart quickly locked on the Hart family trademark, the Sharpshooter, and Red tapped out, putting this one in the books.

Teddy Hart made Red submit to the Sharpshooter in 0:14:24.
Rating: **** 1/4

After this very hard fought match, Teddy Hart stays on the winning track as he hopes to take the Cruiserweight Title at Chaos Reigns, but The Hurricane, Christopher Daniels, and current champion Rey Mysterio Jr. may have something to say about that. None the less, a strong effort by The Amazing Red, who seems to be this close to making the next step.

Match #4
Booker T vs. "The Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam
Booker T had his pre-Chaos Reigns match next, and it would be no easy task as it was against "The Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam. It was announced during this match that RVD would be the 5th man out of 8 that will be in the Hardcore Invitational at Chaos Reigns, and a victory over a top contender for the World Heavyweight Title would certainly move him up the ranks. And RVD has been on a roll lately, largely due to regaining that cocky edge he had several years ago that garnered him worldwide attention in the first place. RVD wrestled very cocky early, trying to humiliate Booker T. After a couple attempts by RVD to embarrass Booker, Booker T finally had enough and slapped RVD hard across the face.

After the slap, this was deteriorated into not so much a wrestling match, but a fight. Booker T may have let his emotions get the better of him and rather than pace himself in preparation for his shot at the World Heavyweight Title on Sunday, he went all out against the Whole F'n Show. After a hard fought match that even resulted in a small cut opening up above Booker's eye, Booker was able to get out of the way of the Rolling Thunder attempt from RVD. Booker got to his feet via the Spinaroonie and nailed Mr. Monday Night with the Axe Kick and put him away.

Booker T pinned Rob Van Dam with the Axe Kick in 0:11:05.
Rating: *** 1/2

A good win for Booker T going into Chaos Reigns. RVD looked less than thrilled after the match, knowing he had a chance to win this one. RVD will look to change his luck at Chaos Reigns in the Hardcore Invitational. As Booker T started to leave, he was stopped by an attendant who had a golden rose. This was apparently a gift from Goldust. Booker T was more than a little freaked out as he disregarded the attendant and headed to the back. What is going on in Goldust's mind?

[We are in the locker room of the World Tag Team champions, The World's Greatest Tag Team. Only one-half of the champs is in the room though, as Shelton Benjamin is finishing taping his wrists when Shaniqua walks in. Shaniqua is dressed a lot more appropriately than she usually is, ditching her S & M outfit for a classier wrestling outfit. Benjamin stops what he was doing and the two share an awkward silence before Shaniqua breaks the tension.]

S: Um... hi, Shelton.

SB: Hi.

S: I just wanted to come in here and thank you for all you've done for me the past couple weeks. The way that I've treated you in the past, I didn't deserve anything. So, thanks.

[Shaniqua kisses Benjamin on the cheek, which gets a decent pop from the crowd. Benjamin looks slightly uncomfortable.]

SB: Don't mention it.

[At this point, the other half of the World Tag team champions Charlie Haas comes into the room. He looks none too pleased to see Shaniqua in his locker room.]

CH: Hey Shelton, you're up.

SB: Yeah, thanks man.

[After casting Shaniqua one more looks, Benjamin picks up his World Tag Team Title and leaves the room toward the ring, leaving just Shaniqua and Haas.]

S: I should be going...

[Shaniqua starts out before Haas' words stop her.]

CH: Yes you should. And you shouldn't come back either.

[Shaniqua turns back and looks at Haas.]

S: Excuse me?

CH: You heard me. You need to stay away from Shelton. I don't know what your deal is, but you're nothing but bad news. I don't trust you as far as I can spit a whale. Shelton and I are the World Tag Team champions, and I'm not going to let some harlot like you ruin it. Now get the hell out of here.

[Shaniqua quickly leaves the room before Charlie Haas gets any more upset. Haas shakes his head before leaving himself.]

Match #5
Shelton Benjamin (1/2 World Tag Team champions) (w/ Charlie Haas) vs. Doug Bashams (w/ Danny Basham)
The World's Greatest Tag Team and the Basham Brothers have developed quite the rivalry in Global Championship Wrestling. These teams have traded the World Tag Team Titles back and forth, and will meet once again for those titles at Chaos Reigns. However, tonight it would be singles action as Shelton Benjamin went up against Doug Basham. Each man had their respective tag team partner down at ringside with them, so this match felt at the brink of dissolving into a brawl. What this led to was an intense, hard-hitting match by two men with extremely bright futures.

With both Charlie Haas and Danny Basham at ringside, this match was wrestled very cleanly. No cheating, no underhanded tactics; just two men trying to prove they were the better man. It was unfortunate that this great match had to end in such a controversial fashion. Benjamin had just ducked a lariat attempt and reversed it into a Northern Lights suplex which got a nearfall when Shaniqua ran down to ringside. Shaniqua must have been feeling very gutsy as she came down to ringside, spun Danny Basham around, and smacked him right across the face! Before Danny could retaliate, Shaniqua ran away, but she ran right into Charlie Haas! Haas yelled at her, telling her she shouldn't be there, which got Shelton Benjamin's attention. Benjamin walked over to see what was going on, which caused him to be blindsided by Doug Basham's finisher, the Basham Blaster. Benjamin was out, and Doug Basham picked up the W.

Doug Basham pinned Shelton Benjamin with the Basham Blaster in 0:07:04.
Rating: ****

Charlie Haas slid into the ring, which caused Doug Basham to bail immediately. Benjamin got up holding his head as Haas was pissed off in the ring. Shaniqua crawled into the ring and once again tried to apologize for what happened, but Haas would hear none of it, getting directly in her face and flipping his lid. Shaniqua cowered in the corner as Haas laid into her verbally until Benjamin finally interjected and pulled Haas back. Shaniqua got out of the ring in a hurry as the crowd came to its feet as Haas gave Benjamin a bewildered look. Benjamin and Haas eventually regain their cool and there was no incident, but it's hard to ignore the fact that there is some tension between the World Tag Team champions. They're going to need to get on the same page and in a hurry if they want to keep their titles on Sunday.

Match #6
Goldust vs. Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle had a plan, and it went off without a hitch. Unlike Brock Lesnar and Booker T before him, the third man involved in the World Heavyweight Title didn't want to expend any energy tonight in his match against the bizarre Goldust. Kurt Angle was introduced first and stood in the ring, looking focused as he usually does. Goldust was introduced next, but midway down to the ring, he was nailed from behind by STEVE BRADLEY. The Sensationals' enforcer absolutely brutalized Goldust. Goldust is a tough guy, but he was never given a chance as Bradley tossed him hard into the guardrail. This was all before the match even began. Bradley picked Goldust up on his shoulder and dropped Goldust face first onto the ringsteps. Goldust didn't stand a chance at this point as he was all but out. Bradley picked him up and threw him into the ring, where referee Antonio Santangelo rang the bell. Kurt Angle went for the cover and after the beating Goldust took, this one was over before it started.

Kurt Angle pinned Goldust after outside interference in 0:00:08.
Rating: *

Kurt Angle had surely pulled a fast one, not only earning a victory, but doing so in record time as well. Angle and Bradley celebrated what they did as Santangelo checked on the condition of Goldust. Needless to say, Kurt Angle is going to be fresh for the World Heavyweight Title match at Chaos Reigns.

[The screen is completely black. These words appear and then fade into the next words.]

In a calm world, only one thing is for certain...

Sooner or later, there will be chaos...

Sooner or later, there will be anarchy...

This Sunday, chaos will reign...

But in a few weeks, chaos will be here to stay...

"The Anarchist" Doug Williams...

Coming soon to Global Championship Wrestling

[In a room backstage. Dawn Marie can be seen standing by a monitor. In her hands is a clipboard as she's been taking notes on the wrestlers all night. The door swings open behind her and there stands North American champion Randy Orton with the title around his waist. He struts in with a lecherous smile on his face. Dawn Marie looks less than impressed.]

RO: Well aren't you looking hot tonight, Dawn? I mean, you're not looking as good as myself, but you're not half bad.

DM: What do you want, Randy? I'm busy here.

RO: Ooh... busy, are you? I see you got your little notebook there. You're so ambitious... I like that in a woman.

DM: Whatever you say, Randy. Now will you please leave?

RO: What's the rush? We're just having a friendly conversation here. Just two people who are obviously into one another sharing words. That's all.

DM: Please... me, interesting in you? Thanks, but ah, no thanks, Randy.

RO: Okay, I get it. You're playing hard to get. I've seen this a million times. It's cute, really. [Orton closes in on Marie] But we both know how this is going to end. You want me. I can see it in your eyes. I can sense it in the way that your breathing speeds up when I get close.

DM: My breathing speeds up because I'm trying my best not to vomit.

RO: Is that so? You sure have a lot of sass. And a sharp tongue. I wonder what else that tongue can do...

[Orton gets even closer to Marie. He puts his hands around her waist and pulls her close to him. Marie tries to slap Orton, but Orton catches her hand.]

RO: Whoa... temper, temper, Dawn. I can see you like it rough. But there will be plenty of time for that later...

[Orton goes in to kiss Marie, but he is stopped when Lance Storm comes into the room.]

LS: Is there a problem here?

[Orton releases Dawn Marie, who quickly runs behind Storm.]

RO: No, no problem at all, Lance. This was a private conversation, so why don't you do me a favor and get your boring ass the hell out of here?

LS: From the looks of things, she doesn't want to talk to you, Orton. And after what you tried to do last week, you shouldn't even be allowed near Dawn Marie.

RO: Oh is that what you think, Lance? How noble of you! Lance Storm to the rescue. How romantic. Give me a break, Storm. You're sure walking around with a big head these days, aren't you? You pick up two or three fluke wins and you think you're everybody's hero?

LS: Fluke wins? In case you don't remember, Orton, I've beat Chris Jericho, I've beat Steve Bradley, and I've beat Kurt Angle. If you're keeping score, that means I've beaten three of the four Sensationals. And that means there's only one left to beat, Orton... you.

RO: Excuse me? Did I hear that correctly? Beat me? Are you kidding me, Storm? First of all, you didn't beat any of the Sensationals. You stole wins. And secondly, you can't beat Randy Orton. I am a two-time North American champion. I am a legend in the making. You can't beat me.

LS: Well if you're so sure about that, why don't you put your money where you mouth is? Neither of us has a match this Sunday at Chaos Reigns. So if you're so confident I can't beat you, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and wrestle me one-on-one for the North American Title?

RO: You want to wrestle me for the North American Title? You want to be a big man? Fine, Lance. I'll bite. I'll give you a shot at the title this Sunday at Chaos Reigns. And you know what? [Points at Dawn Marie] Why don't you come down and watch the match from ringside? I want you to get a good look at me kicking your hero's ass. And have your little clipboard ready tonight, as in the six-man tag that's going to happen in a few minutes, I'm going to give you a little preview of what's going to happen Sunday.

[Orton smiles before he turns around and heads out of the room. Lance Storm and Dawn Marie share a look before we cut to the ring.]

Match #7
"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels/"Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero/Lance Storm vs. The Sensationals ("Y2J" Chris Jericho/Steve "Who's Your Daddy?" Bradley/Randy Orton (North American champion))
This six-man tag team match had the potential to explode. Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero, two men who have been friends since the start of Global Championship Wrestling, but in recent weeks they have had their differences. Guerrero and HBK will be opponents at Chaos Reigns (in a triangle match with Chris Jericho) but tonight they had to somehow coexist as a team. Before the match even started, Guerrero and Michaels had some words, but Lance Storm stepped in and tried to get them focused. They were going to need all the focus they could find because the Sensationals are a very cohesive unit.

This was a standard six-man tag for awhile before things on the non-Sensational side started to deteriorate. Guerrero and Michaels were working together for a bit, but they started to get impatient with one another to the point where Guerrero tagged himself in by slapping Michaels on the back hard. Michaels and Guerrero had some words and looked like they would come to blows when Jericho, Bradley, and Orton all ran over and jumped both of them. Lance Storm came in and this one became a pier six brawl. Eventually all six men stumbled out onto the floor and this one ended in a double countout.

Eddie Guerrero, Lance Storm and Shawn Michaels and The Sensationals (Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and Steve Bradley) battled to a double countout in 0:11:31.
Rating: *** 1/4

The match may have been over, but the fight wasn't. The six men continued to brawl until Storm, Michaels, and Guerrero were able to fight the Sensationals off and send them to the back. Storm, Michaels, and Guerrero were all in the ring when the Heartbreak Kid spun Guerrero around and questioned him about the hard tag. Guerrero didn't appreciate it and shoved HBK, which led to Michaels nailing Guerrero with a right hand and the fight was on! The Greenville fans came to their feet as HBK and Latino Heat laid into each other, wrestling down to the canvas. Lance Storm tried to pull the two apart, but realized it was futile. Finally the GCW Official Brigade came in and separated the two, but irreversible damage may have been done to their friendship.

* * * * *

[Backstage, Mario Riviera is standing by with Eric Angle.]

MR: I am standing by with Eric Angle. Eric, you asked for a bit of time tonight as you had something to say. What is the meaning of all of this?

EA: What this is is me being tired of getting no respect. I'm tired of everyone looking at me as nothing more than Kurt Angle's brother. I love my brother to death, but I'm my own man. I may not have won a gold medal, but I am currently undefeated in GCW. Every man that the powers-that-be have put in front of me thus far, I've put down. And yet, I'm lucky if I even get to wrestle on Explosion, let alone pay-per-view. I'm once again not scheduled for a match at this month's pay-per-view, and that's ridiculous. So that's why right now, I'm issuing a challenge to anybody to meet me at Chaos Reigns in a match. I am going to prove to everyone I'm more than just Kurt Angle's brother!

[Just then, Billy Kidman walks into the shot on the opposite side of Riviera.]

BK: You say you're looking for a match? Well I don't have a match either. You talk about how you've beaten everyone that you've faced, and that's true. But you haven't faced me yet. I accept your challenge, and I will be the first man to beat you... SHADOW.

[Billy Kidman leaves as Eric Angle fumes at that last comment. Angle composes himself.]

EA: We'll see who the shadow is...

[Cut back to the ring.]

Match #8
MAIN EVENT
Non-Title Match
"The Crippler" Chris Benoit (World Heavyweight champion) vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles (Television champion)
Chris Benoit had a lot of pressure on him in our main event against Television champion AJ Styles. Not only is Styles on a tremendous role, but the three men who will be challenging for the World Heavyweight Title at Chaos Reigns were already successful in their matches. Despite all of this, this was a tremendous main event that everyone was extremely into. Styles has been noticeably paranoid about having to fight the brutal Steve Bradley at Chaos Reigns, but in the ring tonight, he was all business. These two work very well together and it led to a high impact and highly entertaining match.

Due to the experience difference, many felt that Benoit would dominate this match, but Styles stayed with Benoit step for step, countering many of the Rabid Wolverine's signature moves. Styles knew that a victory over the World Heavyweight champion would be huge for his young career, and he went all out. Benoit is a veteran though, and as such didn't get frustrated but rather wrestled his match. Late in the contest, Styles tried to get Benoit in the Styles Clash, but Benoit slid over Styles' shoulders and locked him in a rear waistlock, going for a German suplex. Styles blocked it and reversed into a rear waistlock of his own. Styles went for a German suplex of his own, but Benoit knocked down sending Syles forward, inadvertently running him straight into referee Jimmy Appleseed. This was a dangerous situation now with the referee incapacitated.

With Appleseed down, Benoit hit Styles with three German suplexes that brought the crowd to their feet. Benoit grabbed the Phenomenal One's legs and went to lock him in the Sharpshooter, but at that point, BROCK LESNAR ran down to the ring. Benoit saw him though, let go of Styles, and jumped onto Lesnar with a tope! Benoit started firing away at Lesnar with chops, but Lesnar nailed him with a huge kneelift to the midsection before ramming Benoit back first into the ringpost! Lesnar tosed the Crippler back into the ring and then followed in himself. Lesnar scooped the World Heavyweight champion up, spun him around and buried him with the F-5! Benoit was wiped out, as Lesnar jumped out of the ring. Styles got back to his feet, and had no idea what had just happened. Being ever oportunistic though, Styles didn't care. He picked the fallen Benoit up and planted him with the Styles Clash as Jimmy Appleseed slowly crawled over and made a slow three count, giving Styles the biggest win of his career.

AJ Styles pinned Chris Benoit with the Styles Clash in 0:08:04.
Rating: *** 3/4

AJ Styles had pinned the World Heavyweight champion Chris Benoit (thanks to a huge assist from Brock Lesnar). Lesnar got back into the ring and continued the assault on Benoit, but it didn't take long before BOOKER T was out to the ring firing away at Lesnar with rights and lefts! Booker hit Lesnar with a kick to the midsection and brought him down with the Axe Kick to a huge ovation. From there, out came all four members of the Sensationals: Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Steve Bradley, who went on the attack on everyone. Bradley went right after AJ Styles, who he will challenge for the Television Title this Sunday. Jericho and Orton assaulted Lesnar and Benoit respectively until out from the back came SHAWN MICHAELS, followed by LANCE STORM and EDDIE GUERRERO and the huge brawl was on! The show went off the air with these 11 men tearing away at each other.

We now have the final card for Chaos Reigns, the latest pay-per-view in Global Championship Wrestling! Five titles will be on the line this Sunday, July 18, in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as three other matches which should make this a tremendous night of wrestling!

OK, predics...

World title match is a tough one. The one sign of a new champ in the making was when Brock came down in the main, so if anyone's going to win the title, it's him. But I still think Benoit will retain, for now.

North American title. I'm saying Orton to retain since this one was added at the last minute. Lance is the sort of guy I could see dethroning Orton, but I'm thinking it may take a rematch down the line.

Tag belts, with the dissension creeping into the ranks of TWGTT, I'm calling the Bashams to finally take the gold.

TV title - after a win like that for Styles, it's tough to bet against him. I really could see Bradley take this, but I have a feeling A.J.'s going to hang on.

Cruiserweight could go anyway, but Rey retains there.

The Shawn/Eddie fight could lead to some interesting consequences in their match, I see Jericho taking advantage and snatching a win.

In the others, Eric Angle to continue his winning streak and Sean O'Haire builds on his recent improved stature with a win in the hardcore invitational.
Critic of the DawnPosted on 09/15/04 at 02:33:36

Doug Williams is coming to GCW?  Excellent, I'm a big fan of his.  He's an all around amazing athlete who has consistently impressed me in each of the admittedly small number of matches I've seen from him.

Now, for predictions.

Benoit retains.

Lance Storm defeats Orton by DQ, Dawn Marie turns heel and joins Orton.

Styles retains, since I don't think Bradley is ready to be put over the man who pinned the Heavyweight Champ this week.

Christopher Daniels gets the Cruiserweight Title with help from O'Haire.

Guerrero over Michaels and Jericho.

RVD wins the Hardcore Invitational because he was ECW's biggest star and always wins that sort of thing.

Eric Angle takes out Kidman and gets a shot at a title in the near future.  This eventually builds to a match against Kurt once he's out of the World Title picture for the time.
