PWA IMPACT: WEEK 3 (New GM Announced)

JustinPosted on 09/01/04 at 15:12:07

Held At The War Memorial Auditorium, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Aug. 31, 2004

Vince Russo comes to the ring with a microphone.
VR: Tonight, I am here to announce the new General Manager here on Impact. But first I want to give you alittle backround information on the man that will lead this brand into a new era. He is a man that has never & will never back down from anyone. A man that has faced just about every legend this sport has ever known. A man of integrity, who stands up for what he knows to be right. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome.......
Evolution's music plays as the US Champion: Randy Orton, Matt Morgan, & Garrison Cade come to the ring. Orton is carrying a microphine of his own.
RO: Vince, Vince, Vince...Thank you for that heart warming introduction. I mean, who else besides me, Randy Orton, could you have been talking about? "The man that will lead this brand into a new era", "A man that has never & will never nack down from anyone", a man of integrity", & probably most important; "A man that has faced just about every legend in this business" let's go to the list: Harley Race, Moolah, Mae Young, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, RVD, Benoit, Sgt. Slaughter, Booker T, Mick Foley, and most recently Triple H & Ric Flair.  No one else fits that profile quite the way I do. And I think that it's so great that you would want me & the rest of Evolution out here to meet the new General Manager face to face. So come on out here "Mr. General Manager" and meet Evolution.
The crowd erupts as the music of former WWF  superstar Jake "The Snake" Roberts plays and he makes his way to the ring. He steps into the ring and shakes Vince Russo's hand & then takes the microphone from him.
JR: Before anything else gets done, I want to thank you Vince Russo for this opportunity. Now onto business. (Pointing at Eveolution) You.
RO: Jake, it's good to see you again. But, just in case you don't remember me from all those years ago, I'm Randy Orton, "Legend Killer".
JR: I know who you are Randy. And I do remember you from all those years ago. When your dad used to bring you into the lockeroom and you would play with the other kids whose dads would bring them to the shows. You used to run around and say how you would be this great wrestler one day, and here you are.
RO: So you're going to give me the shot at the World Title at Uncensored right?
JR: Let's no jump the gun Randy. Because as far as the "legends" you've "killed"; you spit on Harley Race, you beat up to women who are senior citizens, you "ended" Austin's career without ever getting in the ring with him, and I could go on. I on the other hand, I have faced, Ander The Giant, Randy Savage, Rick Rude, The Ultimate Warrior, Sting, The Undertaker, Rick Steamboat, Jerry Lawler, Rick Martel, Earthquake, Ted DiBiase, Bad News Brown, Ron Garvin, The Honky Tonk Man, and the list just goes on and on. So you really haven't proven anything to me yet. (points at Morgan & Cade) And you 2 haven't even done anything in this business yet. So next week Cade & Morgan, you will be in a match that if you win, you get to enter the World Tag Team Title tournament. If you lose, well lets just say that you'll be S.O.L. when you want a shot at the titles at later time. And as for you "Champ", next week there will be a match between John Cena & Sonny Siaki, and the winner of that match will face you at Uncensored for the US Title.
RO: You can't do that.
JR: Yes I can. I'm in charge now. But just so you don't feel left out, tonight, you 3 will have a match. A 6 man tag match against Sonny Siaki, John Cena & Edge so I suggest you get out of my face & go get ready.

Match observations:

Jake "The Snake" Roberts is the new GM of Impact. He has already started throwing his weight around by telling Evolution that they will have to earn there spots in the company.

Ever since facing off in the World Title tournament back in week 1, Kane & Edge just can't seem to stop fighting. Sonny Siaki & Billy Kidman are the same way. What will it take for these men to settle there differences.

Congradulations to Nunzio on winning the Impact Cruiserweight Title. His first title defense will be at Uncensored.

And Randy Orton jumped Shawn Michaels & cost The Undertaker the Impact World Title. You can bet that "The Dead Man" will want some revenge next week.

Next week:
Sonny Siaki vs John Cena winner faces Randy Orton at Uncensored for the US Title.

Matt Moragn & Garrison Cade will have to earn their place in the World Tag Team Title tournament. Who will there opponents be?

Mr. Aguila faces Frankie Kazarian for a shot at Nunzio's Cruiserweight Title at Uncensored

all this & more next week

and on Sept 19: PWA IMPACT presents UNCENSORED

Good solid show.  I like Jake in the General Manager role already.  I was worried at first that he was going to be too much of a babyface, but his sending Kane against Bubba ended my concerns over that one.

That's quite a roster of cruiserweights you have there.  Give them a prominent role and they could be a very solid part of your midcard.  Have you decided who will be the top faces and heels in the division yet?

I'm glad that Morgan and Cade have to earn their spot.  They're both green enough that I wasn't really buying them that much in the prominent roles they had.  This gives you a chance to build them up a bit.

Your World Title seems to be coming off as almost an afterthought.  I know you're pushing Evolution, but Michaels and Taker deserve some microphone time as well.

Looking forward to the next show.

My plan is for Jake to be more of a neutral character that always has something up his sleeve. Someone that no one can truely trust.

Great Card man but  Nunzio  won the kight-weight belt come on i hope that was just one tnm's silly mishjaps but with the right angle it dould be gold i also like when Monty Brown beat that fat f#?@ Rikishi i hate rikishi. Keep up the good work.
Snabbit888Posted on 09/02/04 at 20:36:40

What are you talking about?  Nunzio is awesome. :)
Critic of the DawnPosted on 09/02/04 at 23:37:04

Agreed.  Granted, WWE hasn't let him do anything noteworthy, but Nunzio is capable of putting on some excellent matches.  Look at his Ring of Honor work as James Maritato as an example.  Very solid.

They need to let him be more the style of a shooter.  Have him be a scary "real" fighter in the Cruiserweight division.  Don't make him such a stereotype comedy wrestler.    It looks like he and Johnny Stamboli are getting very early signs of a tag team push though, so I'll allow that too.  I like both.
meetzorakPosted on 09/03/04 at 20:19:18

i guess it's just Context and nothing more i wrote that commet thinking of Nunizo as the Sterotype not as the shooter hence that is a silly light-weight champion.
