IWF CIRCUIT (Updated 08/08/2004, 2 new cards)

AnubisPosted on 07/18/04 at 21:40:01

Well, folks, my web site is up, and I'm finally back into the TNM scene. I now present Imperia Wrestling Franchise!

This used to be an e-fed a while ago, but since I got out of that crap, I decided to make a TNM circuit instead in order to satisfy my fantasy wrestling needs. I hope you'll all watch and follow the circuit.

The IWF Circuit was inspired by Oliver Copp's WWF Circuit (I wish he'd work on it some more!) and is designed roughly the same way; it's not detailed in-depth like some some other circuits around here. Hopefully, it's an easy enough read to attract "viewers".

To describe the circuit, it's a combination fictional/real wrestlers circuit. The premise of the circuit is that IWF is a new upstart promotion (formed by Brandon Harwell and his circle of friends) that is trying to move on up the ladder in order to overtake WWE not only in America, but across the globe. It will take a bit of time and strategy, of course, but nothing will stand in our way! As such, the starting roster consists entirely of fictional wrestlers; the "world" of the circuit is factually accurate as of June 30, 2004 (concerning promotion rosters and such for real wrestlers) and will be played out from there. Results usually are taken as-is; matches are not booked and I take most events as they come. (There are, of course, exceptions. For instance, Brandon Harwell isn't allowed to leave the promotion for obvious reasons.)

Now for some notes on some of the notable fictional personalities:

The Dunvegan Clan: The Dunvegan Clan is very much like an American version of the Hart family in that they are a wrestling dynasty. The patriarch is Doug Dunvegan, and old pro and veteran of the business. His eldest son is Alex Dunvegan (born in 1969), a monster of a man and a powerhouse. Next is Edgar Dunvegan (born in 1975), a high-flying high-risk wrestler akin to a lesser version of HBK. Then we have the twins, Jerry and Sarah Dunvegan (born in 1980). Jerry is one of the top young newcomers and the best friend of Brandon Harwell, IWF's owner promoter; Sarah is an old girlfriend of Brandon's and a very good worker in her own right. Finally, we have Reuben Dunvegan (born in 1985), a shootfighter and martial artist with a lot of promise.

Brandon Harwell: Owner and promoter of IWF; this is me. In the circuit, I'm a martial artist and technician. Unlike Vince McMahon, I actually have decent talent in the ring. ;D

Dawson Polaris: Another one of Brandon's best friends. Along with Jerry, he is one of the best newcomers around and is an outstanding high-flying and submission specialist.

Sampson "Groovy" Griffith: Another of Harwell's circle of friends, he's not quite as good in the ring, but he's a fun-loving guy. Very powerful and very good at getting people to tap out.

Adrian: Another of Harwell's circle of friends. Like Groovy, he's not the best in the ring, but he's got a lot of endurance and energy.

Jimmy Dragon: A famous fighter, originally from Japan, who settled down in Santa Monica, California. When Brandon, Jerry, Dawson, Groovy, and Adrian were training, they met him when he made an appearance at the school they learned at. He quickly became good friends with Harwell, then decided to accept the offer to become the core of IWF. If WCW's main man was Sting and WWE's main man was the Rock, IWF's main man is Jimmy Dragon. He is considered by many in Japan to be one of the best workers in the world.

Anyway, I hope that interests you all. Real wrestlers are added as time goes on. To read the cards, simply visit the official IWF site:

All honest comments are welcome, but let's keep it civil here. I know I'm not perfect, but I'm just trying to make something interesting. My goal is for people to have fun. On that note . . . ENJOY!

Match observations:

Tonight was quite a night, full of surprises! The night began with the Crusader, Zekk Azeroth, and Lady Masquerade getting a big win over the Unforgiven. Next up, Son of Sam totally squashed New Jack after a botched running tope by New Jack left him unconscious on the floor.

Big Kahuna faced Mima Shimoda for the IWF Extreme Hardcore Title, and made sure not to underestimate her this time. That strategy proved effective. After some help from the School of Hardcore to negate Imperia Corporation, Kahuna pinned Shimoda to regain the belt!

B.A. Sebastian and Payne-X Sebastian continue their long war, this time facing each other in a Stretcher Match. BDG came out on top. Next was a great exhibition match featuring Sarah Dunvegan taking on Manami Toyota. After a thrilling 11-minute match, Sarah earned the submission win.

The Commandos tries to get the IWF Tag Team Titles from Imperia Corporation, but it wasn't meant to be. Despite the Brotherhood's best efforts, interference from the rest of Imperia Corporation caused a disqualification, allowing Liermann and Jones to retain.

The Keldon Warlord eliminated Jerry Dunvegan at Extreme Warfare, and Jerry was looking for revenge tonight. The Keldon Warlord fought hard, though, and managed to keep the former IWF Champion away from a winning combo. With the painful Keldon Burial, the Keldon Warlord earned a very hard-fought win. Next, the Brotherhood took another step in the right direction, with Dawson and Groovy defeating President Harwell and his "Dark Empress".

Then came the shocking main event. Jimmy Dragon promised Greg Nelson a title shot, and tonight he delivered. Unfortunately, it cost him the belt as Nelson defeated Dragon a second time to earn his second reign as IWF Champion!

Match observations:

Imperia Corporation has won almost complete control now over all who oppose them. The only good news is that Big Kahuna was able to prevent Mima Shimoda from winning back the IWF Extreme Hardcore Title for the time being.

The Commandos tried to win the IWF Tag Team Titles again, but once again Imperia Corporation was able to keep the belts on Liermann and Jones by getting them disqualified.

IWF President Brandon Harwell dealt the next blow by soundly defeating Doug Dunvegan in a Barbed Wire Match.

Finally, in the main event, the unthinkable happened: Jimmy Dragon no-showed. Nobody knows what happened to Dragon, but everybody knows the final result. Harwell placed Sarah Dunvegan in the match as Dragon's replacement, and the result was a disaster as Gothic Dragon easily defeated her opponents to take the IWF Title.

Who can stop these egomaniacs now?
