[GCW] Monday Night Explosion - 6/14/04

Snabbit888Posted on 07/30/04 at 12:18:05

Only two more stops for Global Championship Wrestling until we arrive in New York City for Super Cade! But the road to Super Cade must pass through Providence, Rhode Island, which is where we were tonight for Monday Night Explosion. Tensions are running high as presumably our biggest pay-per-view event of the year is in striking distance, and everyone is looking to make their mark. That was true all the way down the card, including our first contest for he Television Title!

Match #1
Television Title Match
"The Role Model" AJ Styles (c) vs. The Amazing Red
AJ Styles and The Amazing Red are by no means strangers to each other. Not only have they wrestled each other several times on the independent scene, but they're also met several times in GCW rings as well. As a matter of fact, Red is the only man to place a loss on AJ Styles thus far.

These two work exceptionally well together. They've wrestled each other so many times that they just know what to expect, so they are able to use amazing counters on each other. It usually is a matter of who will make the first mistake. We thought that man was Styles, who went for the Styles Clash too early, but Red pulled himself up and countered it with the high speed sunset flip power bomb, the move he used to beat Styles back in March, but Styles kicked out just in time. Red couldn't believe it as he pleaded his case to referee Joey Daniels, but the decision stood. Red went to the top for the InfraRed, but Styles was ready for it, climbing to the top and bringing Red down with a jumpnig enziguiri. Red fell to the canvas in a heap, and was easy prey to the Styles Clash after that.

AJ Styles pinned Red with the Styles Clash in 0:05:48.
Rating: *** 3/4
(AJ Styles retained the GCW Television Title.)

* * * * *

["Medal" by GCW Produced starts up which brings out a "big name is coming" pop from the crowd. That pop quickly turns to jeers though as Kurt Angle steps out from the back, his various medals around his neck. He hops into the ring and does his spin before he takes the microphone from William Buck. Conspicuous by their absence is the rest of the Sensationals.]

KA: You know, a lot of people ask me what the best part of being a wrestler is. Some people think it's getting to be on television. Other people think that it's that I am now a well-known celebrity who has one of the most recognizable faces in the world. But no, it's neither of those. It's the fact that I get to travel all over the world. I make trips to Japan, Australia, Africa, South America, and I've been to every major city in these United States of America. I've been to great cities like Chicago, Atlanta, New York... getting to see those places almost makes it worth having to come to hell holes like Providence!

[The crowd is all over Angle with boos now. He sure has a way of pissing people off.]

KA: Coming to places like this almost makes me embarrassed that I won a gold medal for this country!

[The boos are even louder now.]

KA: You don't boo me! I'm your next World Heavyweight champion! It's true, it's true! What everyone is failing to realize is that sure, Chris Benoit is the World Heavyweight champion. He beat out 29 other guys to win Deadly Draw, not an easy task by any means. But one thing he hasn't done is beat Kurt Angle! Benoit calls himself the best technical wrestler in the world today. Are you kidding me? How many Olympic gold medals has Benoit won? How many NCAA championships? How many World wrestling championships? Precisely! Absolutely zero! None! Notta! Zilch! Not a damn one! And yet, there are people around here that think that Chris Benoit is going to beat me at Super Cade! Can you believe that? Do any of you think Benoit can actually beat me?

[The fans of Providence explode into cheers.]

KA: Well of course you morons in Providence would think so! I mean, Rhode Island? This state is so backward, there are no damn roads! And an island is surrounded by water on ALL SIDES people, all sides! I know there's one person who happens to be in the audience tonight who is convinced that Chris Benoit is going to retain the World Heavyweight Title at Super Cade. She's sitting right over there in the front row. [Points to his left] That's right... how are you, Nancy? Ladies and gentlemen, it's Mrs. Chris Benoit, Nancy! How are you, Nancy?

[A camera shot of Nancy Benoit is shown as she gives a nervous wave to the crowd.]

KA: Now Nancy, it's nice to see you here in support of your husband. With the divorce rate going through the roof, it's wonderful to see you supporting your spouse in such a manner. It's true, it's wonderfully true. Now folks, many of you might remember Nancy Benoit. You might be thinking, "Hey, this lady looks familiar." Well, you'd be right. Nancy here has been in the wrestling business before. She went under the moniker of Woman. That's right, the infamous Woman is right here in Providence, Rhode Island. Nancy, you know how this business works. You've been up and down the roads many a time. Now how could you possibly think, knowing what you know, that your husband is good enough to beat me, an Olympic gold medalist? It's absurd! It's absolutely unthinkable. I don't think you're getting the point, Nancy. OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL! That means I am the best in the world. Gold! Not silver! Not bronze! GOLD! And I won with a broken freakin' neck! Now I know Chris has broken his neck before too, but instead of toughing it out like a real man would, he sat out for over a year and whined and cried about how bad it hurt. Oh boo hoo hoo! Poor me! It's sickening! It's true!

[Nancy Benoit isn't exactly sure what to do as Angle is now exiting the ring and standing on the floor to get in her face. The crowd is booing as Angle is becoming more aggressive.]

KA: You call him a man, Nancy? That little vanilla midget? He can and never will measure up to Kurt Angle! Say it, Nancy! Say it! Say Chris Benoit will never measure up to Kurt Angle!

[Angle shoves the mic in Nancy's face.]

NB: Can't you just leave me alone, Kurt?

KA: Leave you alone? Leave you ALONE!? Nancy, I just want a simple confession here. It's quite obvious to you, me, and even the mental midgets here in Providence know that I am a superior athlete, man, and role model, much more than Chris Benoit! [Loud boos] All I need from you, Nancy, is to say it. Just let all of these people, and let your poor excuse of a husband know that he is NOTHING. Say it!

[Angle puts the mic back in Nancy's face. Nancy looks around hoping that this blows over as the fans encourage her not to say anything. Nancy realizes that she has no choice here.]

NB: NO! I won't say it!

[A huge crowd pop.]

KA: You what!? You won't say it!? Oh, you're gonna say it, Nancy! You're gonna say it! It's true, it's true!

[Angle grabs Nancy by the hair and is one quick motion, pulls her over the guardrail to the floor. He picks her up and tosses her in the ring. The fans are in absolute shock about what's going on here. Angle pulls down the straps of his singlet as an absolutely frightened Nancy Benoit cowers in the corner. Angle has a crazed look on his face. Nancy gets on her hands and knees and makes a break to crawl out of the ring, but Angle grabs Nancy Benoit's ankle and drags her to the center of the ring. Angle locks the Ankle Lock on Nancy as she lets out a horrendous scream. Nancy Benoit flails about, helplessly trying to get away from Angle, but he has a tight grasp on. He twists her ankle as she continues to scream. Finally, World Heavyweight champion Chris Benoit sprints to the ring in an absolute rage. He dives at Kurt Angle and begins smashing him with hard punches to the face. Benoit picks Angle up and locks him in a rear waistlock, but before he can do anything, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Steve Bradley, the other members of the Sensationals, are all over him. All four members of the Sensationals begin pounding on Benoit. Steve Bradley picks him up and plants him with the Smashmouth. Jericho immediately bounces off the ropes and hits Benoit with the Lionsault. Angle gets in Benoit's face before grabbing Benoit's ankle. He tries for the Ankle Lock, but he's stopped by the arrival of Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, Lance Storm, and Justin Credible. A few punches are thrown before the Sensationals slide out of the ring and run to the back. Chris Benoit eventually comes to and sees his wife lying on the mat in excruciating pain. Eddie Guerrero tries to help Benoit, but Benoit shoves him out of the way. A distraught Chris Benoit picks up his wife and carries her out of the ring and to the locker room. We cut to commercial.]

* * * * *

Before we get to our next match, we learned that Chris Benoit accompanied his wife Nancy to the hospital. With as long as Kurt Angle had the Ankle Lock on Nancy Benoit, she could very well have a broken ankle. We also learned that in our main event, we would have an 8-man tag team match as the Sensationals, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, North American champion Randy Orton, and Steve Bradley, would take on Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, Lance Storm, and Justin Credible.

Match #2
The World's Greatest Tag Team vs. Triple X (Elix Skipper/Low-Ki) (w/ Daffney)
The World's Greatest Tag Team have convinced Shaniqua and the Basham Brothers to give them a World Tag Team Title rematch at Super Cade, but they would need all they had and more if they wanted to get past Elix Skipper and Low-Ki of Triple X. All three members of Triple X are very accomplished, so this was no easy task for the former World Tag Team champions. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin used perfect tag team strategy to keep Skipper and Low-Ki grounded, but a well-placed cheap shot by Daffney gave her charges the advantage. Skipper and Low-Ki tried what they could, but in the end, Charlie Haas caught Elix Skipper in the Haas of Pain after a missed moonsault, giving the WGTT a big victory.

The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) defeated Triple X (Elix Skipper and Low-Ki) when C. Haas defeated Skipper when Skipper passed out in the Haas Of Pain in 0:09:18.
Rating: *** 3/4

The crowd is really coming around to WGTT as they gave them a good ovation after their win, but the celebration was cut short as the Basham Brothers jumped Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin from behind. Shaniqua directed Danny and Doug to pound on the WGTT, hitting Haas with the Ball And Gag Bomb. Shelton Benjamin got the same treatment, being hit with a Ball And Gag Bomb as well. Shaniqua then took a ball gag and put in on the unconscious Benjamin before cracking him once with the riding crop. For Benjamin's sake, I hope he and Haas regain the World Tag Team Titles at Super Cade, or Benjamin has 30 days worth of this to look forward to.

Match #3
"Ironman" Rob Conway vs. Brock Lesnar
Rob Conway has a huge future. He's a wonderful technical wrestler, and has a huge upside. The problem is, Brock Lesnar is an absolute freak of nature. Lesnar has absolutely tore through whoever has been put in front of him (with Chris Benoit being the one notable exception) and despite all of the future that Conway has, he was no exception tonight. Conway did what he could, but Lesnar shrugged most of it off. Conway kept Lesnar on the mat by working over his arm, but Lesnar got a hold of Conway and didn't let go, planting him with the F-5 and walking away with a win.

Brock Lesnar pinned Rob Conway with the F-5 in 0:08:38.
Rating: *** 1/4

["HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW!?" is heard over the PA system which brings out Hardcore Holly to not much reaction at all. Holly looks particularly pissed off tonight. He gets in the ring and after shoving William Buck around a bit, he takes the microphone from him.]

HH: Why don't you all shut the hell up? I've got something to say here!

[The crowd boos a little, but they're a little confused. They weren't really making any noise to begin with, so how can they shut up? Regardless, Holly continues.]

HH: Things haven't been going well for me in Global Championship Wrestling. I've spent the three months getting my ass kicked. I've gone into the ring unfocused, and unmotivated, and that stops tonight. What I haven't remembered is that I'm the Big Shot around here. What I've been forgetting is that I'm not just Bob Holly, I'm HARDCORE Holly! There's a reason that they called me Hardcore, and it's because I'd just as soon split open your damn head than look at you! And that's exactly how it's gonna be from now on! People aren't going to laugh at me anymore! I'm not gonna be an easy win anymore. If you want to prove yourselves, let's see how you all do against Hardcore Holly with Hardcore Rules! So if anyone in the back has the balls to come out here and face me in a Hardcore Match, nut up or shut up! How do you like me now!?

[After a few moments, "Man In A Box" by Alice In Chains starts up to a medium pop. Out from the back comes "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer. He has with him a metal garbage can that has his kendo stick in it. In his other hand, he has a microphone.]

TD: You want to come out here and talk about hardcore, Bob? I was hardcore while you were racing around in go-karts at the fair!

[The crowd pops for this comment. Hardcore Holly is less than pleased.]

TD: I made myself who I am today by being hardcore. I sign my name to hardcore! I live, eat, breathe, and sleep hardcore! You want to come out here and talk to me about being hardcore? I accept your challenge. But don't think that just because it's a Hardcore Match that your string of getting your ass kicked is going to end! You've just magnified the degree of ass-kicking you're gonna get!

[Dreamer throws down the mic and runs to the ring, tossing the garbage can over the top rope into the ring. Holly jumps him as he crawls in, starting the match.]

Match #4
Hardcore Match
"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer vs. "The Big Shot" Hardcore Holly
Hardcore Holly talked a big game, and he looked to back it up in this Hardcore Match with Tommy Dreamer, who has made his living by being hardcore. Holly jumped all over Dreamer from the start, but Dreamer quickly reversed it with a low blow. Dreamer grabbed his kendo stick and cracked Holly in the head with it, sending him to the canvas. Dreamer looked to end this one quickly, presumably to prove a point to Holly as he set him up for the Dreamer DDT. As Dreamer let out a primal scream, ROB VAN DAM ran out from the back holding a road sign and he cracked Dreamer in the back of the skull with it! Dreamer stumbled forward and when he turned back toward RVD, the Whole F'n Show caught him with a spin kick. Hardcore Holly grabbed the road sign and gave Dreamer one more shot for good measure, and just like that, Holly was the winner.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Hardcore Holly pinned Tommy Dreamer after hitting him with a road sign in 0:00:50.
Rating: * 1/4

Rob Van Dam and Hardcore Holly couldn't leave well enough alone though, as the assault on Tommy Dreamer continued. Holly naield Dreamer with the Alabama Slam as RVD went to the floor and retrieved a chair. Holly picked Dreamer up and rested him standing in the corner as RVD handed him the chair. Holly held the chair in front of Dreamer's face, while RVD jumped and cracked Dreamer in the face with the Van Daminator! Dreamer fell to the canvas in a lump, bleeding slightly from the forehead. RVD and Holly gave each other a look before they both headed to the back separately. What has happened to Rob Van Dam?

Match #5
Goldust vs. Eric Angle
In our next match we saw Eric Angle, the older brother of #1 contender Kurt Angle, making his Explosion debut by taking on the eccentric Goldust, who has been having his problems as of late with Television champion AJ Styles. During the course of this match, it was announced that at Super Cade, AJ Styles will defend his title against the Bizarre One. Eric Angle has the unenviable task of having an extremely successful and well-known brother, but Eric is looking to make his own mark. You can tell that cockiness runs in the Angle family as Eric has many of the same cocky mannerisms as his brother does. Another thing that Eric has in common with his brother is he is very well versed in mat wrestling. Goldust has much more pro experience than Angle though, and it showed, as Goldust looked to be well in control of this match. Late in the contest, Goldust nailed Eric Angle with a clothesline that sent him to the floor. As Angle got back up, he grabbed a chair from ringside and threw it in the ring. While referee Antonio Santangelo tried to clear the chair out of the ring, AJ STYLES jumped in the ring and clocked Goldust from behind with the Television Title in an obvious premeditated attack. Goldust was out cold, and fell easy victim to Eric Angle's Angle Slam, giving Eric Angle his biggest victory as a professional and having him remain undefeated in GCW rings.

Eric Angle pinned Goldust with the Angle Slam in 0:07:15.
Rating: **

AJ Styles jumped back in the ring and stood over Goldust, shoving the Television Title in his face and yelling, "You will NEVER have this!" before slapping the unconscious Golden One. Styles held his arms out in a cross formation before we cut to commercial.

* * * * *

[Backstage, Teddy Hart is in the video room in the arena. On the screen he is watching the match from Mayhem where Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Low-Ki for the Cruiserweight Title. He is watching intently when we hear a loud "WHOOSH!" sound effect and in "flies" the Hurricane, who strikes a superhero pose directly in front of Teddy Hart and the TV. Hart looks at The Hurricane and gives him a cocky smirk.]

TH: What do you want?

H: The past few weeks, your attitude has greatly changed, Citizen Hart. You and The Hurricane had formed a team. We were destined for glory, but you've seemed to succumb to the forces of evil. You said you were going to help me fight evil; now you've joined it. WASSUPWITDAT!?

TH: Listen, Hurricane... I'm still the same guy I was a few weeks ago. I just happen to be the number-one contender for the Cruiserweight Title right now. I can assure you, Hurricane, that I'm not evil; I'm motivated.

[Hart puts his arm around The Hurricane.]

TH: You've shown me the light. What's your battle cry? "All evil shall fear the Hurricane?" Look at me... does this look like I fear you? No, so I can't possibly be an evildoer, can I?

H: Well, no... I suppose not.

TH: Exactly. It's all in your head, buddy. It's all in your head.

[The Hurricane gives Teddy Hart a big cheesy thumbs up. Hart returns the gesture.]

H: I'm glad we had this talk. Keep fighting the good fight, Citizen Hart! I have to go get ready for my match now.

TH: Match? What match?

H: Because of my great service to protecting the public and fighting for justice, Good Samaritan Niemiller rewarded me with a Cruiserweight Title match against Rey Mysterio Jr., right here in Providence!

[Big crowd pop is heard.]

H: They love me in Providence.

[Teddy Hart is trying to keep his composure, obviously disturbed that The Hurricane is getting a title shot tonight when he is the number-one contender.]

TH: Niemiller gave you a title shot tonight?

H: Sure did! Wish me luck!

TH: Um... er... good luck...

[The Hurricane gives a thumbs up and turns to leave the room, but he is immediately blasted from behind by a Teddy Hart forearm, knocking him to the ground. Hart catches our superhero with a couple of hard kicks to the stomach. Hart grabs The Hurricane by the head and brings him to his feet, just to throw him head first into the cement wall. Hart mounts The Hurricane and starts hitting him with hard right hands before the GCW Official Brigade runs in and pulls Hart off him. We cut back to the ring as The Hurricane lies in pain on the floor.]

Match #6
Non-Title Match
The Basham Brothers (World Tag Team Champions) (w/ Shaniqua) vs. Billy Kidman/Paul London
Even though the World Tag Team Titles were not on the line, this was a huge opportunity for Billy Kidman and Paul London If they could somehow manage to defeat the Basham Brothers, one would have to believe they'd move way up the ladder in the tag team ranks. The Bashams aren't the World Tag Team champions for nothing though, so Kidman and London had a tall mountain to climb. Unfortunately for the Shaniqua and her charges, they ruffled some feathers earlier tonight that they shouldn't have, as not seconds after the opening bell, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin were down at ringside. Benjamin had the ball gag in his hand that Shaniqua had put on him earlier. Benjamin got to ringside and immediately threw the ball gag into the ring, hitting Doug Basham in the back of the head. Basham turned around and started jawing with Benjamin. Referee Joey Daniels came over to try to break these two up, which allowed Charlie Haas on the other side of the ring to pull Danny Basham off the apron and throw him into the ringsteps. Paul London grabbed Doug Basham from behind and nailed him with a swinging facebuster, which was enough to surprise the World Tag Team champion. Billy Kidman and Paul London just scored a huge upset!

Non-Title Match:
Billy Kidman and Paul London defeated The Basham Brothers (Doug Basham and Danny Basham) when London pinned Doug Basham after a swinging facebuster in 0:00:46.
Rating: *

Shaniqua jumped in the ring and she couldn't believe what just happened. Kidman and London jumped into the crowd to celebrate their win with the fans while Haas and Benjamin went back up the aisle, laughing and pointing at the Bashams. There's a lot at stake at Super Cade, and neither team has a clear advantage over the other. We expect a quality match between these two teams at Super Cade.

* * * * *

[Backstage we see GCW interviewer Mario Riviera standing with Christopher Daniels and Daffney of Triple X. Daniels is dressed much differently than his regular wrestling gear. He is wearing a long red robe similar to what a priest may wear. He is holding a large golden cross, maybe 15 inches tall or so. Riviera doesn't know what to make of Daniels, and Daffney bouncing around all-together crazy isn't helping matters for him.]

MR: Christopher Daniels, I can't help but notice some new attire here...

CD: Mario, don't you worry about that just now. All of those answers will be given when He decides it is time.

MR: But it's hard not to notice that you look completely different than you did...

CD: Mario, my child, patience is a virtue. In time, you will understand.

[Daffney lets out a loud sudden scream that causes Riviera to jump.]

MR: Sweet holy geez!

[Riviera composes himself as Daffney laughs to herself.]

MR: Now in a few moments, you have a match with Booker T, a match that many people feel is one-sided, and not in favor of you. What do you have to say about that?

CD: These people you speak of, they may not believe in me, but that's okay, because He [points to the sky] believes in me. He believes that I am the One. He saw me, a lowly mortal on Earth, and realized that I'm truly a fallen angel. He has saved me from the darkness of my own soul, and I am reborn again. It's a clean slate for Christopher Daniels, and Booker T is going to find that out the hard way tonight. Booker T is a sinner, and pay for his sins he shall.

[Daffney lets out a loud scream again before she and Christopher Daniels head toward the ring. Mario Riviera watches them leave with a confused look pasted on his face. That certainly was interesting.]

Match #7
Booker T vs. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels (w/ Daffney)
Nobody was sure what to make of Christopher Daniels' comments before the match or his new attire he wore to the ring. His comments were vague, but one thing we were sure of is that he showed a brand new meanstreak in the ring that we haven't seen out of him thus far in GCW rings. Booker T is a veteran of the ring though, so he was ready for it. What came of this was a fast-paced high impact matchup that if we pitted these two against each other last week, we may not have seen. Booker T had some trouble adapting to Daniels' ring style, which is very unique so that was not all together surprising. Daniels had Booker tied up in a variety of odd submissions in the opening minutes, leaving Booker a little flustered before he caught Daniels with the Book End out of nowhere for a near fall. Booker worked over the Fallen Angel with his offense before Daniels caught him with a low blow. Daniels went for the Last Rites, but Booker reversed out of it and brought Daniels down with a clothesline. Booker came back up with a Spinaroonie which got a huge pop before catching Daniels with a boot to the midsection and a big Axe Kick. Booker walked out of Providence with his hand raised tonight.

Booker T pinned Christopher Daniels with the Axe Kick in 0:06:57.
Rating: *** 1/2

Booker T pulled out a surprisingly hard fought victory. Christopher Daniels may not have taken the win tonight, but he definitely showed a lot in a losing effort. Booker T, meanwhile, looked strong as he gets nearer his date with destiny and Brock Lesnar at Super Cade.

Match #8
Cruiserweight Title Match
Rey Mysterio Jr. (c) vs. The Hurricane
We fully expected this to be an exciting Cruiserweight Title defense as Rey Mysterio Jr. put the title on the line against my favorite superhero and yours, The Hurricane, but that was also before we knew that Teddy Hart was going to cowardly assault The Hurricane earlier in the night. You could tell that the Man In Green was still a bit shaken going into this match, both physically and mentally. The Hurricane tried to regain his focus and concentrate on this big opportunity to win Cruiserweight gold, but Rey Mysterio Jr. is not somebody you can go into a match with and not be at your absolute best. The Hurricane's biggest flurry of offense came when he reversed a Mysterio crossbody attempt with a gutbuster. The Hurricane went for the Shining Wizard, but Mysterio wasn't nearly wore down enough as he ducked it and brought The Hurricane down with a facebuster. Mysterio, knowing that The Hurricane was hurting from before, rather than prolong the match, hit Hurricane with the West Coast Pop which was enough to keep his shoulders down for the 3 and give Mysterio a successful title defense.

Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned The Hurricane with the West Coast Pop in 0:04:10.
Rating: ***
(Rey Mysterio Jr. retained the GCW Cruiserweight Title.)

After the match, Mysterio helped The Hurricane to his feet to make sure he was all right. A great sign of sportsmanship from Rey Mysterio Jr. I would love to see a match between these two when both men are in top condition, but thanks to Teddy Hart, that just wasn't meant to be tonight.

Match #9
MAIN EVENT
Shawn Michaels/Eddie Guerrero/Lance Storm/Justin Credible vs. The Sensationals (Kurt Angle/Chris Jericho/Randy Orton/Steve Bradley)
There was the potential for a huge blowup in this contest as there were eight personalities where when put together could lead to chaos as the Sensationals took on Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, Lance Storm, and Justin Credible in an 8-man tag team match. This came about tonight after Kurt Angle cowardly attacked Nancy Benoit, the wife of World Heavyweight champion Chris Benoit, locking her in the Ankle Lock, sending her to the hospital. Benoit went with his wife to the hospital, and you know that the Sensationals were looking to send someone else there tonight.

The interesting part of this match was watching certain men who particularly dislike each other locking up. Randy Orton trying to outdo Shawn Michaels, Lance Storm and Steve Bradley exchanging holds, and watching Chris Jericho do everything in his ability to stay away from a very angry "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero. The x factor in this match though was Justin Credible. Credible tried for weeks to become a member of the Sensationals, becoming Y2J's lackey and basically doing Jericho's dirty work. It turns out that the Sensationals and more specifically Chris Jericho were simply using Credible. Credible has been befriended by Lance Storm, and Credible was looking to get some revenge on Jericho. Jericho was running away from Eddie Guerrero about midway through the match when he ran right into a superkick from Credible. Credible unloaded on Y2J with right hands before grabbing him by the hair and slammed the back of his head repeatedly against the canvas. Credible picked Jericho up and went for the That's Incredible, but he was nailed from behind by Randy Orton. Orton kicked at Credible a couple times, which prompted Shawn Michaels to jump in and nail him with a flying forearm. Soon the ring filled up as all eight men were going at it. Needless to say, head referee Jimmy Appleseed was having a considerably hard time keeping order at this point.

Lance Storm and Steve Bradley spilled to the outside, as did Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton. In an effort to gain some control, Appleseed cornered Eddie Guerrero to try to get him out of the ring, but unfortunately, this distracted him long enough for Kurt Angle to drop Justin Credible with the Angle Slam. Jericho, being ever opportunistic, put Credible in the Walls of Jericho. Jimmy Appleseed turned around just in time to see Credible tapping out and awarded the contest to the Sensationals.

The Sensationals (Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton and Steve Bradley) defeated Eddie Guerrero, Justin Credible, Lance Storm and Shawn Michaels when Jericho made Credible submit to the Walls Of Jericho in 0:15:09.
Rating: *** 1/2

Jericho reared back on the Walls of Jericho as Angle continued to stomp on Credible's head. The other people in the match had spilled out into the arena fighting, minus Eddie Guerrero who slid in the ring, but he got dropped with a Kurt Angle clothesline. Angle locked Guerrero in the Ankle Lock with obvious ill intentions. Things didn't look good for Justin Credible and Eddie Guerrero until "Whatever" by Our Lady Peace kicked in and out from the back ran CHRIS BENOIT, steel chair in hand! The crowd exploded as Benoit ran in, belting Angle in the back hard with the cold steel. Having seen Benoit with the chair, Jericho made a hasty retreat out of the ring. Benoit brought the chair down on Angle's ribs a couple times before Jericho grabbed Angle's foot and pulled him out to the relative safety of the ringside area. The show went off the air with a closeup shot of an extremely pissed off Benoit staring a hole through Kurt Angle.

We are ever closer to Super Cade, what should prove to be a gigantic pay-per-view extravaganza. Live from New York City, New York on June 27, 2004, 9 huge matches have been signed! The card is stacked from top to bottom, and it is one you won't want to miss!

Expect me to steal the "someone beats up Nancy Benoit" idea in about a year. :P Seriously, I digged that segment, great stuffl. Now, if I may once again...

World Heavyweight Title Match
"The Crippler" Chris Benoit (c) vs. Kurt Angle

After this show, I have to back Angle really.

Randy Orton (c) vs. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels

Never bet against Orton, he retains.

World Tag Team Title Match
If the Bashams win, Shelton Benjamin becomes Shaniqua's slave for 30 days
The Basham Brothers (c) vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team

As a rule, 30 day angles usually come to fruition, but with the titles on the line, it's a tougher call. I'll go TWGTT to take it, but I'll be rooting for the Bashams... never thought I'd hear myself say that.

Television Title Match
AJ Styles (c) vs. Goldust

I think Styles may have tempted fate this time, Goldust takes all the gold this time.

Cruiserweight Title Match
Rey Mysterio Jr. (c) vs. Teddy Hart

What a dick Teddy was. Rey takes it.

Steel Cage Match
"Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero vs. "Y2J" Chris Jericho

Jericho has the momentum after this show, he wins.
