Week 46

Card Information:
Held in: COREL CENTRE
Location: ONTARIO, CANADA
Date/Time: Nov 12/04 at 8:00pm
Matches/Interviews booked: 12
Attendance: 5057
TV ratings: 3.9%
Approximently Viewers: 11.7 million

What an interesting turn of events. We had a half sold out crowd but i'm going to assume that those missing people made up the 11.7 million viewers at home.

Maxis Cendres and Jack Evans defeated Hell's Army (Jack Ripper and Lark Fenriz) when Maxis pinned Fenriz with the Maximum Overdrive in 0:11:56.
Rating: **** 1/4
[Hate interfered against Maxis Cendres.]

Maxis and Jack Evans got their revenge on Ripper and Fenriz but that wasn't the interesting part of the match. After the match was over, Hate tried to attack Maxis and Jack from behind with a chair BUT....

Anger grabbed the chair from him and moved towards Evans and Cendres. Hate thought Anger wanted to do the job himself and he turned his back to taunt the
crowd. That is when Anger smacked Hate in the back of the head with the chair and left the ring.

We have witnessed the end of Hell's Angels.

Chuck and Dom Donovan defeated Real Xtreme in a Bunkhouse Brawl when Chuck
pinned Robinson after the Joykiller in 0:05:28.
Rating: ** 1/2

Cum Shot Feminists got their revenge for their loss last week by handing Real Xtreme a loss this week in what was a short but entertaining Bunkhouse Brawl encounter.

Mark Briscoe pinned Kevin J. Ridge with the Cutthroat Suplex in 0:04:31.
Rating: * 1/4
[Lucifer Magnusson interfered against Kevin J. Ridge.]

Ridge was extremely pissed that he lost this match due to a cheap shot by an interfering Lucifer Magnusson.

Rob Van Dam defeated Frank Knight by disqualification in 0:08:05.
Rating: ** 3/4
[Sabu interfered against Rob Van Dam.]

The hatred between Sabu and RVD cost Frank Knight yet another defeat. Knight is not having the best run in RPW.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Justin Credible defeated Chris Jericho and Lance Storm when Chavo Jr. pinned L. Storm with the Gory Bomb in 0:20:51.
Rating: *** 1/2
[Chavo Guerrero Sr. interfered against Chris Jericho.]

Chavo Jr. and Justin Credible came out for their open tag challenge and stood in the middle of the ring. Lance Storm then came out through the curtains and said he would answer the challenge and has called upon an old friend to help him out.

Out from behind the curtian came Y2J - Chris Jericho. Jericho and Storm gave it their all but in the end, Chavo and Credible continued their positive run and picked up another win.

[Impromptu brawl]: No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Hate pinned Anger with the Demon's Hammer Driver in 0:12:16.
Rating: **

This impromptu brawl started in the backstage area when Hate found Anger walking down the hallway and he attacked him. The action spilled out to the ringside area and into the ring. The officials let them fight and decided to make it an official match once they got in the ring.

Hate was heard saying to Anger after the match "Don't ever fuck with me again or you will get hurt".

Jonathan Smith and Halloween defeated Gangsta Heaven (Gotti and Hoffa) when Halloween pinned Gotti after a gutwrench suplex in 0:12:00.
Rating: *** 1/2

This tag team showcase couldve gone either way but it was Smith and Halloween who won.

Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Travis LaGrange pinned Werewolf Gregorson after a power bomb in 0:05:36.
Rating: **** 1/4

Gregorson had quite a hiatus from singles action and it showed as LaGrange got a victory over him.

Four Corners Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Raven, Sabu and Van Wild defeated
The Paladins (Ben Tuckwell and Teddy Diablo) and Steve Austin, CM Punk, Trent Acid and Christian and Afternoon Delight (Lee Awesome and Lee Handsome) and Edge:
x Van Wild beat Christian via the Wild Ride in 0:13:25
x Sabu beat Edge via a rolling reverse cradle in 0:21:52
x Sabu beat Diablo via the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:24:03
Rating: *** 1/2

Sabu, Raven and Van Wild were the only team that have worked together as a cohesive unit before and it helped them as they were able to work the best
together and get the win.

[Winner is #20 in the Rumble Pro Rumble]:
Travis Cade and Tony Antony defeated Scott Starring and Lucifer Magnusson in an Ultimate X Match in 0:09:13.
Rating: ** 3/4

Travis Cade and Tony Antony were both holding on to the envelope and dropped down at the same time. They were fight next week to determine who gets the #20
spot.

Card rating: ***

Match observations:

Next week's event will be a special hype show for our big Rumble Pro match. Some of the participants will be giving their comments.

Aside from that, we will see in action:

- Tony Antony vs Travis Cade with the winner getting the #20 slot.

- Afternoon Delight will defend their tag titles.

- Kevin Ridge will have his revenge against Lucifer Magnusson

- We will get some words from Frank Knight that he promises could change things quite a bit in RPW.

- Hate will face Anger again but both of them will have a tag partner of their choosing at their side.

Another nice little run of match ratings there. Now, hopefully when the Rumble pro match comes along, your winner won't bail this time. :P No idea who will win mind you. Any preferences from you?

By the way, having never seen one, how exactly does an Ultimate X match work?

Hehe - oh trust me, i've got a way to make sure that the winner makes it to the World title match. =)  I would have to say that whoever gets the #20 slot (Antony or Cade) has a great chance of walking out the winner but then again i'm a big fan of what Lucifer Magnusson is up to these days and we all see the determination from Ripper and Fenriz to make Maxis' life a living hell. So to answer your question, i don't have a true single preference. =)

As for the Ultimate X match, it boils down to this:

- The four corners of the ring have a pole attached to it and there are wires that criss cross between those poles to form an "X" above the ring.

- Something is usually hanging from the middle of an "X", like a title. In this case, it was the envelope with the #20 spot in it.

- Object of the match is to climb across the cable and grab the title or whatever is hanging there.

It's quite a spot fest in that i've seen people do amazing moves FROM the cable as well as people who have done moves to their opponents who are hanging from the cable. The classic one is Wrestler A is hanging from the cable and Wrestler B jumps from the turnbuckle and spears him off. If you get a chance to see the next NWA:TNA wednesday show on PPV, do so because they are going to have an Ultimate X match on there for AJ Style's X Division Title.

Until I get cable and they have up to date TNA in Britain, I'll have to make do with yours for a while yet.
