For Oliver when he comes back

ZedjaPosted on 08/21/05 at 17:11:46

I noticed something the other day but until now I didn't really reflect much on it.

I've so far run 4 cards with 35 matches in each. Every match is supposed to be a No Time Limit - No Countouts - No Disqualifications (I'm trying to determine a champion which means I need a winner in each match.) I've used TweakCirc so that when I book the matches I wouldn't have to uncheck No disq or No count every time. Before build 4 it would always say No disq etc. But all it says now is "No-Time-Limit-Match". I haven't had a single count out or disqualification, so that still works.

Is this something you've done on purpose?? Since you wont be able to see this until you come back and it's really a minor thing (not perticulary a problem) I just hope your vacation was a nice one.

EDIT: Something else that has been bugging me is within the Weight Class Wizard. When you are using the Brand Mapper, all the wrestlers shows up. It would be good if you either only show the wrestlers within your circuit since it's a circuit based plugin after all, or at least sort them so that the wrestlers you've hired are listed first.

I just checked my results for my booked Circuit.... And here's another thing. I used TweakCirc here as well and made that check "Booked". But here it seems that not only have the "no countout, no disqualification" disappeared, but it doesn't even say "No-Time-Limit". However I know the matches react as if they are.

No, this isn't expected and hasn't been done on purpose. I'd need to see your TNM because I can't duplicate this behaviour on my end. It works perfectly here, so I guess there is something wrong with how TNM handles some of the data on your copy.
ZedjaPosted on 08/26/05 at 14:17:19

Ok I'll send you my TNM once I get home. I'll include the circuits. And exclude media/themes.

IWA is the unbooked and IWA2 is the booked. I have some extra folders in them where I save copies of the card logs and ratings though.

EDIT: If you check the ratings copies you'll see what I see.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/26/05 at 18:08:22

Actually, I just noticed while looking at your TNM that this behaviour is not new to Build 4 but has always been in there.

I'm sending you a fix.

Thanks!
ZedjaPosted on 08/26/05 at 18:33:23

I updated the file you sent me. I will have to make a new card to test it out.

Then my TNM didn't really have an error from something that I had done, but a bug that can be corrected so that it doesn't happen to others?

That's good.

And, no, thank YOU for showing such support for people using your program. We are all really greatful for that.
ZedjaPosted on 08/27/05 at 09:20:00

Guess what... It didn't fix it..

I ran a new card yesterday and I checked the Cardr.txt and still nothing where No-Time-Limit should be..
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/27/05 at 13:38:04

I just got this result with your setup:

No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Match:
Cactus Jack pinned Chris Benoit with the Mandible Claw in 0:15:43.
Rating: ** 3/4

Card rating: ** 3/4

Did you unzip the CARDSRV.ZIP file to the PROGRAM folder?
ZedjaPosted on 08/27/05 at 18:29:20

Yes. I did. Or rather I unzipped it to the main folder and moved it there... It seems I have to restart my circuits or something...

I'll try it again just to be sure.

I hope me being on Windows ME doesn't have anything to do with it...

Or that shouldn't matter for long as I'm going to swap computers soon anyway.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/27/05 at 20:32:22

You don't have to restart your circuit... doing so won't change a thing.

Like I said - I tested it in *your* TNM with just the updated program file and it performed just fine... that's what's throwing me off somewhat at the moment.
ZedjaPosted on 08/27/05 at 20:38:12

Have you tried it with 35 matches? ;D I only book the winners in the IWA2 circuit though.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/28/05 at 09:49:26

Card with 35 matches in the IWA2 circuit - same result :)
ZedjaPosted on 08/28/05 at 10:00:39

Then the only difference is that I use ME...

I'm going to run some more cards in both circuits to see if things have changed since I restarted my computer over the night.
ZedjaPosted on 08/28/05 at 10:32:27

It seems to work in IWA at least. Now to check in IWA2. Maybe the restart of my computer was all it took as I never restarted before trying the 4th card.
ZedjaPosted on 08/28/05 at 15:30:33

It didn't do the same for the IWA2 circuit.. :-/ Where the type of the match should be it shows nothing...

And still the only difference between the circuits is that one has the booked square checked with the Tweakcirc while the "now" working one doesn't. What's wierder is that it works for you... But from the test you did with 1 match you used wrestlers that at least I hadn't hired.

I have no clue why it isn't working for me.. I now have 5 cards in my IWA2 folder where two of the cards was run after I got the fix.

It did fix things in my unbooked circuit though...
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/28/05 at 22:16:52

I think I've found the symptom... you book your matches such that you only pick the winner, right? Not booking in detail.

If I do that, I can duplicate the problem. Will check how i can fix it.
ZedjaPosted on 08/28/05 at 22:19:59

That's exactly it as I want the ending to still be somewhat of a surprise, despite picking the winner.

It's typical that when you want the simple thing it complicates matters :D
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/28/05 at 22:21:32

Fixed it. You can download the updated file here:

http://www.tnm7.com/downloads/cardsrv.zip

Just unzip in your PROGRAM folder and you'll be good =)
ZedjaPosted on 08/28/05 at 23:04:41

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow after I get home from work. running 3 cards is enough for today.

Thanks once again for the quick fix, I appreciate it.

So it's back to watch the ending of Con*Air and then it's bedtime..
ZedjaPosted on 08/29/05 at 19:45:22

*In Dr Frankenstein voice* It's ALIVE!!!

It works. Thank you very very much.
