Steamboat gets the win thanks to J. J. Dillon's blatant interference as he saw that Flair was about to be finished off and wouldn't allow it.  After the match, Tully Blanchard comes running out to the ring and joins Flair and Dillon in attacking Steamboat in the middle of the ring.  And then out comes Magnum T.A.!  And he has a baseball bat in his hand.  He nearly misses all three attackers as he clears the ring making the save for Steamboat as we are out of time.

Until next week, so long everybody!

I'm sensing the rather obvious NWA influence here. That brings back some memories...
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/05/04 at 03:31:26

Blatently obvious indeed, right down to the referees even.

The only thing I didn't do was have a show full of squash matches followed by winners interviews hyping the next big show at the Omni or at the Charlotte, Coliseum.  ;)
Magister369Posted on 07/06/04 at 03:18:42

Nice to see another pure old school fed, if you need any
other old school wrestlers let me know.

BTW when are you going to continue your old school rules? you stopped at year two month 1,
Critic of the DawnPosted on 07/06/04 at 06:53:34

Good stuff, Rick.  I've got a suggestion though.  If you're using the Dusty Rhodes export that I think you are, then you may want to alter it a bit.  If it's the one I think of, elbowsmash is listed as the move which leads up to the Bionic Elbow finisher.  This isn't bad in and of itself except for the fact that 50% of Dusty's moveset is full of elbowsmashes.  So unless you want him to win 95% of his matches in 5 minutes or less regardless of his opponents, I suggest you rebalance things a bit.  Just a suggestion, of course.

Looks like a good start to your new circuit.  Can't wait to see what you do with it, who joins CW (I really love the fact that you use so many mystery wrestlers in the rules), and who wins those Tag Team Titles.  My personal guess is that it'll be Dusty and his partner (Magnum T.A. maybe?) against The Russians in the finals, with the Dream getting the win.

Rick GarrardPosted on 07/07/04 at 01:07:29

well... first... the question regarding the rules has been answered over on the BCW forum...

And Eric... thanks for the Dusty suggestion.  I will keep that in mind.  You should check out the BCW forum as it is now also the home to CW... And it has the tag team tourney card now up.
Critic of the DawnPosted on 07/07/04 at 02:46:47

Not a problem.  While Dusty as champion isn't necessarily an unrealistic thing, Dusty riding a Goldberg-esque winning streak would be considerably less interesting than some other possibilities in this circuit.  As for CW being in the BCW forum, I actually saw it there after replying here.  I'll be watching it, don't you worry. :)

SuperstarJimiCPosted on 07/16/04 at 00:49:36

Boy that was great, that was almost a memory of a card from Jim Crockett Promotions.
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/16/04 at 07:37:45

Well, it was kinda supposed to be a throwback to the roster of JCP in 1984 or thereabouts.  :)

If you want the full feel of of it, I suggest checking out the entire CW circuit over on the BCW section of the forums, where week 7 is the next card to be posted.  (I've actually run through week 8's tourney so far, just not had time to post it) And once CW gets to week 60... we'll see NEW rules added to the old school set!  :)

In fact, there is a rumor of a new group forming at the card in Norfolk.  ;)
