cerberosPosted on 07/16/04 at 02:12:58

Smackdown comes on the air with footage of Torrie Wilson and Sables match at The Great American Bash and then what happened two weeks ago between Charles Robinson, Kurt Angle and Luther.  We then see the end of a match between Paul London and Billy Kidman taking on Sakoda and Akio.  It was announced a double pin but we see that Paul actually had his shoulder up.

We then see footage from earlier today.

Angle:  Charles can you do your job right?  Is that possible with you?

Robinson:  Mr. Angle, you can see from where I was it looked like both their shoulders were down.  It was a mistake that is all.

Angle:  The second mistake you made in three weeks.  Now tonight you will be officiating a rematch from Velocity and I will be watching it very closely.  If you so much as look in the wrong place you will have hell to play and not even Charlie Haas will be able to save you this time.

The Fireworks go off in the arena and we see that Akio and Sakoda are in the ring and Paul London and Billy Kidman are on their way.  This match was almost a replay of last weeks.  Back and forth action.  There was a blind tag but Charles didn't see it.  Kidman tossed the legal Akio from the ring while London hit Sakoda with his London Calling for the win.

Paul London and Billy Kidman defeated Akio and Sakoda when London pinned Akio with the London Calling in 0:05:27.
Rating: *** 1/4

Kurt Angle's music hits as Luther rolls him to the ring.

Angle:  I am sick and tired of this Charles.  Watch the DAMN REPLAY!

We see the blind tag as Charles watches in disbelief.

Angle:  Now I tried to have Luther teach you a lesson but that didn't work.  Now next week for the first time since the Big Show attacked me I will be in action and it will be against YOU!

Charles looks shocked as we go to break.

Commercial Break

After the break we see footage of Eddie Guerrero arriving during the break.  As he gets out of the car the Dudley Boys attack him.  They give him their 2D belly to back suplex/neckbreaker combo.  They then walk off and we see JBL smiling having watched the whole thing.  We then see footage of John Cena's "translating" Kenzo Suzuki's promo.  We then go to Cena defending his US Title against the Bronze Warrior.

Kenzo looked very good early on against the US Champion.  Early on he used a series of kicks to take the US Champion off his feet.  Cena came back when he ducked a kick and hit a modified Spinebuster.  Cena then hit all his usual moves and went for the F-U but Hiroko jumped on the apron.  Cena dropped Kenzo and grabbed Hiroko.  He then planted a kiss on Kenzo's translator.  Kenzo tried to kick Cena but he moved and the kick hit Hiroko.  Cena capitalized by hitting the F-U for the win.

John Cena pinned Kenzo Suzuki with the F-U in 0:08:04.

The Dudley's meet the duo in the aisle and the brawl started.  They quickly fight to the back.  In the back they fought all the way outside.  We see the camera try to follow but the cords won't reach so we go to break.

Commercial Break

We come back and we are informed that the Dudley's, Spike and RVD have brawled down the road.  They are currently trying to get cameras out to the brawl.  Rey comes flying out of the stage as we go to our Cruiserweight title match.  Jamie Noble comes out and we are ready for the match.

Misterio went right into his high flying style with a flying head scissors followed up by a dropkick that sent Noble to the floor.  Misterio tried a slingshot crossbody but Noble catches him and runs him into the post.  Noble then went to work on the back and finally set up for his Tiger Driver.  Misterio however countered the Driver into his West Coast Pop for the win.

We immediately go to the back where we see the Bubba and Spike fighting back into the arena.  Spike is a bloody mess.  We go to break with Bubba just stomping the runt of the litter.

Commercial Break

After the break we hear the stock bell as the WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield comes to the ring shaking hands and kissing babies.

JBL:  Tonight your WWE champion is forced to go back to the dark ages.  A man of my stature, a best selling author, syndicated radio show host and a financial expert.  Now I have to step into that cage and fight a crazy man.  Hell he already caused my good friends the Dudley Boys to lose their titles.  The only thing good in all this is that a fair, honest, intelligent man like Kurt Angle is the official.  Lastly I would like to thank everyone who has supported me as Champion and know that it will not end tonight.

Commercial Break

We come back from break and we see JBL in the ring with Kurt Angle.  The duo is shaking hands as Eddie's music hits.  Angle for the first time in months has his leg out of the cast.  Eddie comes out and drives his car right up to the cage.  He climbs out and into the cage over the top.  As soon as he touches the ground JBL attacks.  JBL immediately sent Eddie into the cage several times busting him open.  JBL goes for the door but Eddie cuts him off with a clip.  Eddie worked on JBL's knee trying to ground him.  Eddie was started choking JBL and Kurt pulled him off.  Eddie and Kurt went nose to nose but JBL attacked from behind and the two collided.  We went to our last break with all three men down.

Commercial Break

We come back and see that JBL is now busted open.  We see in double feature footage that Eddie sent him into the cage with a slingshot.  Eddie hit JBL with a Frog Splash but Kurt refused to count the pin.  Eddie got up and went for the cage as he stuck his head through Luther slammed the door on his head.  Eddie fell back into the ring and didn't move.  JBL crawled over but Eddie somehow kicked out.  Kurt started to direct traffic telling JBL to go for the Clothesline from Hell.  JBL did that but Eddie moved and it was Kurt that took the shot.  Eddie responded by giving JBL a series of Brain Busters.  Eddie then went climbed the cage.  Eddie was about to climb down when the fans started to chant "EDDIE EDDIE".  Eddie looked around before standing on the corner of the cage.  Eddie then took flight from the top of the cage and nailed JBL with his Frog Splash from the top.  Kurt slowly, very slowly made the three count giving Eddie the WWE Title for the second time.

All I can say is that Eddie must be a god for pulling out that sort of match. And all the planets and stars are re-alligned as they should be...
