THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH
The show starts with a recap video of last week's Bad Blood show. The video fades and we find ourselves again in Vince Russo's office.
VR: For the past two weeks, I have been trying to find that one single opponent that can de-throne Jeff Jarrett as NWA World Champion. That has been where my mistake has been. A single opponent may not be enough to get past all of Jarrett's tricks. That is why tonight, Jeff Jarrett will defend the NWA World Heavyweight Title in a Triple Threat Elimination match in which his opponents will be Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit!
Russo's laughs as the camera fades.

JC: But Rock, I'm...
R: Did you not hear The Rock? The Rock said the people don't want to hear from a popcorn fart like The Coach. So hand the mic to The Rock, and get to steppin' before The Rock has to lay the smack down.
The Coach leaves with his head down.
R: Now then. FINALLY, THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO NORFOLK! Kane, tonight; The Great American Bash; you will go ONE ON ONE WITH THE GREAT ONE and The Rock is gonna lay the smack down on the big freaky ass of yours and the people will rise up and once again chant The Rock's name.
The crowd starts cahnting "Rocky, Rocky"
R: And from there The Rock will go on to face the NWA World Champion, whoever it may be, by SummerSlam. And once again, The Rock will not only be the most electrifying man in ALL of entertainment, not only will The Rock be the People's Champion, but The Rock will be THE NEW NWA World Heavyweight Champion....IF YA SMELLLLLLL WHAT THE ROCK......is cookin'!

Josh Matthews is backstage with Chris Jericho.
JM: Chris, tonight you have another opportunity to become NWA World Champion, but, instead of just Jeff Jarrett, you'll have to go through your friend; Chris Benoit.
CJ: You know Josh, last time I faced Jarrett, I underestimated him. That is a mistake that I won't make twice. As for Benoit, yeah we are friends, but in that ring tonight, friendships will be put aside because the NWA World Title means so much to both of us.
Chris Benoit walks up & joins the interview.
CB: Chris, I just want to wish you the best of luck tonight. You'll need it. Jarrett got lucky against me last week, but, that won't happen again. Tonight, I'm taking that NWA World Title home. But as my friend, I'll tell you right now: don't get in my way.
CJ: That's funny Chris, "your way". especially when it's you that needs to stay out of MY way.
The two stand face to face before Jericho walks off in one direction and Benoit in the other.

Vince Russo comes out with his own microphone.
VR: Jeff, I'll admit you had one helluva match tonight. And I didn't think you could do it. But I will not rest until I find someone that can take away from you the one thing that matters most: the NWA World Heavyweight Title. And at Vengeance on July 11, I have just the man to do it. You see Jeff, you will face the man that earned the right to be called the #1 contender. At Vengeance, it will be Jeff Jarrett defending the NWA World Heavyweight Title against TRIPLE H!
Jarrett throws the microphone down and has a fit in the ring about facing Triple H.

Match observations:
The announcement has been made: Jeff Jarrett vs Triple H at Vengeance for the NWA World Title. Both men have had brutal matches over the past few weeks. What shape will they be in at Vengeance?

Randy Orton once again got past John Cena and retained the US Title. This time without help from Evolution, proving that he is the real deal. Who's next in line for a shot at his title?

The Dudleyz add another title to their long resume by beating AMW. The former champions have already issued a challenge for a rematch at Vengeance.

Up next:
Vengeance July 11
Triple H vs Jeff Jarrett
The Dudleyz vs AMW
Plus much, much more!

Those cards were great. I need to ask, Do you ever think about doing any joint cards with my NWA All-Stars? I mean put my NWA World Champion vs your NWA World Champion in a Unification match? That would be awesome.
jhip74Posted on 07/09/04 at 02:30:22

Not a Unification match but a champion vs champion match keeping both belts seperate sounds interesting

email me about it sometime
