Our tournament was based on rankings. Our number one rated super star is Jushin Liger. He had a match scheduled against The Ultimate Warrior, who one a number one contenders match. The Warrior was rated at number 5. The Steiner Brothers, Rick and Scott were rated at 2 and 3. The faced Demolition who was rated at 13 and 14. Hayabusa is rated at 8 but is out with an injury! Our opening bout to kick off the title tournament, number 4 rated Steve Austin -Vs- number 15 rated Mil Mascaras. Mascaras got the win! Number 6 rated Undertaker took on number 12 rated Sabu. Sabu was able to counter the last ride with a inside cradle and was able to get the 1..2.3! Number 7 rated Vader took on number 11 rated Lex Luger. Vader was able to hit the choke slam and win the bout to move on. Number 9 rated Sting, took on number 10 rated Brian Pillman. Pillman was no match for Sting and Sting got the win to move onto the semi-finals to face his not so good of a friend, Vader! Mil Mascaras took on Sabu in the Semi-Finals! Sabu was able to suprise everyone and get the win over Mil Mascaras! Vader and Sting squared off and no love loss left between these two men! Vader was able to get Sting on a choke slam and get the win! Demolition took on the Steiner Brothers. Demolition took it to the Steiner's like no one has before here in the IWA. The Steiners actually had to play defense so to speak here tonight. In the end it was Ax exchanging blows with Rick Steiner outside, while Smash nailed a powerslam on Scott Steiner. Demolition are new tag team champs! Sabu -Vs- Vader! Vader and Sabu had a hell of a match. Sabu and Vader had alot of near falls! In the end, Hayabusa made an appearance and tried to help out Vader by hitting Sabu with the Television Title. Sabu was able to duck out of the way, and a quick go behing turned into an inside cradle on Vader was all he needed to get the win! In the main event, The Ultimate Warrior took on Jushin Liger. Jack Tunney came out to ringside before the bout and said that if any one of the IWA superstars made their prescense known in any way, would be fired from IWA. The fans, as well as Tunney wanted a clean match between Warrior and Liger. The fans and Tunney got it in what was a very good display of sportsanship and athletic compatition. In the end, Liger was able to move out of the way of a Big Splash and nail a moonsault and get the win! World Champ - Liger Tag Champs - Demolition TV Champ - Sabu Next Card.. IWA Presents: Burning Sky Matches to be announced.... All 3 titles will be on the line! |
91 | Posted on 07/01/04 at 03:04:56 Hey, Demolition came good just like that. Also, much relief that Liger defeated the Warrior there, looks like he's making a good champion already. Speaking of which, was Jericho not high up the rankings there? Pity... |
americamamushi | Posted on 07/01/04 at 03:40:39 What an upset, Sabu over Undertaker. I'm glad though. I just would have figured the former world champ would have beaten Sabu, who hasn't been an IWA focal point (until now anyway) He managed to win even with the assist by Hayabusa. Do I see a hardcore grudge match in the future?? ;) It's also nice to see Demolition finally make a real name for themselves in IWA. The title fits them nicely, now hopefully they can keep it for at least a little bit. With all the fierce compitition in the tag division, who knows? And kudos for Liger beating the Ultimate Warrior, thus proving distrucity has no place in a wrestlnig ring. ;D hee hee hee |
Richard Garcia Jr | Posted on 07/01/04 at 04:14:49 Thank you guys very much for your imput! Like I said, I always love the imput! As for Jericho, he was ranked , 16, one spot shy of the rankings! |
