Match observations:

If Kidman and Corino intend to get past the awesome combination of Raven and
Jerry Lynn this Sunday, they're going the right way about it. Facing the
Pitbulls, many people expected the IC tag title belts to change hands but the
Pitbulls suffered their first defeat today as Kidman and Corino used every
underhanded tactic in the book to win. Unfair it might have been but if they
were to do the same this Sunday, they'd have scored a huge victory.

Chris Benoit and Dynamite Kid square off in their final showdown match this
Sunday with Kurt Angle refereeing. Dynamite and Angle, however, didn't work out
too well as a team. Dynamite was far more concerned with getting his hands on
Benoit than winning the match and the ensuing fisticuffs that resulted outside
the ring allowed Masato Tanaka to slip in unseen and nail Angle with a thrust
kick and allow Malenko to score the fall.

Tanaka also got himself a big win over Lance Storm, with a little help from
the ring ropes, but a big win nonetheless. Tanaka and Malenko will take on
Lance Storm and Ken Shamrock this Sunday now in what should be a very tight
match.

In a grudge match, John Cena faced and defeated Christian today, after some
timely interference from Doug Furnas who tripped Christian just as he was
starting to see things go his way. Cena and Furnas were able to walk off rather
smug after that one and Christian will have to keep his eyes open a lot wider,
as will Edge, this Sunday if he wants to win.

Los Guerreros relationship is seemingly completely down the pipes now after
Eddie, sick of Chavo messing him around, happily cost him his match today
without a hint of subtlety about it. Chavo was up against Rey Mysterio and
whilst things were even, Chavo always looked like he might be able to squeeze
it out. Enter Eddie who distracted the ref when Chavo had a cover made, then
let him go when Rey turned things around to get his own cover. Chavo was fuming
and demanded an answer. Eddie told him that was for last week, but now they
were even and Chavo, being the younger nephew, should stop his arrogance and
show his uncle some respect.

Rey meanwhile was pleased with his win but was confronted by Juventud Guerrera
in the aisle who made several threats and challenges. Officials quickly
intervened before any blows were thrown.

It seems we have a new member of the roster, though not the sort of person one
would have expected - Larry Zbyszko showed up today, flanked by Jonathon
Coachman, to distract Low Ki in his match, causing him a loss to Alex Wright.
Is this the sort of revenge Coach had planned? Zbyszko is a great wrestler but
it'll be very interesting to see how he fits into the DWF environment.

Finally La Parka scored another win and in very impressive fashion. Paul Roma
was the opponent, so perhaps no big deal La Parka won, but doing so in just
55 seconds has to be noteworthy. Roma overmatched him for power early on after
a couple of lockups, and celebrated this by mocking La Parka, playing air
guitar and strutting around. This cost him as La Parka dived him and pinned him
there and then. That'll teach him.

Victories as well for two teams looking for tag title shots very soon - The
Young Lions and Pretty Perfect both climbed another rung on the ladder today.

And Christian gets a miracle by pulling a decent match out of John Cena. Amazing.

I usually find Cena lies in the ** region, sometimes reaching *** when facing particular good opponents. A quick check shows his highest for me was *** 3/4 against Benoit, so he's never reached the magical **** to date...
