GWF Firestorm #1

cerberosPosted on 05/18/04 at 06:12:43

This is yet another new circuit I am working on.  Let me know what you think of the first card:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fireworks go off as we go to ringside where we see Scott Hudson with Jim Ross.

Hudson:  Welcome to the first ever GWF Firestorm.  I am Scott Hudson along side Good Ol' JR.  Tonight we have some great action.

JR:  But the question is who is the backer here in the GWF Scott?  All over the internet from 1wrestling to PWInsider to PWtorch everyone has a thought on who it is.

Hudson:  I have heard names like Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon to Paul Heyman and Terry Funk.  Everyone has been speculating who it is.

JR:  Well hopefully tonight we will get the answer but who knows.  What I do know is that Charlie Haas is in the ring awaiting Steven Richards so lets go to the ring.

Haas and Richards had a back and forth match.  Steven started to take over with some quick moves.  Steven went for a frankensteiner but Haas countered with a power bomb for the win out of nowhere.

Charlie Haas pinned Steven Richards after a power bomb in 0:09:49.
Rating: **

Haas celebrated until the lovely Sable came out.  Sable whispered something to Haas and he got a big smile on his face.  Haas and Sable walked to the back hand in hand.

Hudson:  What was that all about?  I didn't even see Sable backstage.

JR:  Well if Sable is here it can only mean trouble.  Where Sable goes trouble follows Scott.

Hudson:  Well it seems that Charlie is in store for a very satisfying night.

Voice:  Enough chatter.  These people want to see some real wrestling.

We see that Kurt Angle has made his way to the ring.

Angle:  You are all looking at the greatest wrestler of all time.  I have an Olympic medal for crypts sake.  I have held every title in the world of professional wrestling there is to hold.  There isn't a person in the back that can match me in the ring.  As a matter of fact there isn't a person in the back that can go ten minutes in the ring with me.  So anyone in the back with the guts get down to the ring NOW!

From the back out runs Tough Enough 3 winner Matt Cappotelli.  This was a very competitive match.  Early on Cappotelli got several near falls.  He went to the top for a missile dropkick but Angle side stepped and that was the beginning of the end.  Angle then went to work on Matt.  With about a minute left Angle locked in the Ankle Lock.  Matt seemingly refused to submit and held out for 55 seconds before finally tapping out.

Kurt Angle made Matt Cappotelli submit to the Ankle Lock in 0:09:55.
Rating: ***

Hudson:  OH MY GOD!  Had Matt been able to hold out for just five more seconds he would have won this match.  This rookie came within an eyelash of beating "Mr. Wrestling" himself Kurt Angle.

JR:  There is a reason that young kid was picked to win Tough Enough.  He is a former Western Michigan University football player and will be a real gamer with some more experience.

Hudson:  Look at Kurt in the ring.  It is like he won the GWF World Title or something.  Finally the trainer is in the ring and Kurt is leaving.

JR:  This kid wouldn't tap out for so long but look at the price he paid.

As the trainer got Matt to his feet a man ran in from the crowd.  He spun Matt around and smashed him in the head with a guitar.  He ripped off his hat and revealed himself to be Jeff Jarrett.

Jarrett:  That's right slappy.  The Chosen One is here in the GWF.  I was brought in as the Chosen One and everyone will realize that soon enough.  I have all the STROKE around here.

Jarrett picked Matt up and gave him the Stroke before heading to the back.  The trainer once again gets into the ring and is checking on a bloody Matt.  He is checking on him when this time from the back out runs Rosey and Jamal.

JR:  What in the hell do these two monsters want.  Hasn't this youngster been through enough.

As if to answer JR Rosey picked up Matt and gave him a vicious Samoan Drop followed by a huge Frog Splash from Jamal.  Jamal was setting up for another frog splash when out ran Al Snow and Maven.  Maven hit a picture perfect dropkick on Jamal and sent him to the floor.  Snow quickly rolled Matt to the floor where Bill DeMott and none other then Hardcore Holly were there to help him.  As Al and Maven were making sure he was ok Rosey and Jamal attacked.

This was a very hard fought match for both sides.  It was Maven that was signaled out by Rosey and Jamal.  A hot tag and Snow was on fire.  Al seemed set to win when out came Jeff Jarrett.  Snow hit him with a baseball slide dropkick but turned right into a Samoan Drop from Rosey.  A quick tag and a frog splash got Rosey and Jamal the win.

Rosey and Jamal defeated Al Snow and Maven when Jamal pinned Snow after
a frog splash in 0:12:04.
Rating: ** 1/4

After the match Jarrett stood over the fallen Al Snow with another guitar held high.

Hudson:  This makes me sick JR.  I have had to deal with that guy just about everywhere I have gone.  He is a punk.

JR:  I know all about him Scott.  He has always been a punk.  Wait a minute, I am being told something is going on in the back.

In the back we see Bill DeMott and Hardcore Holly nose to nose with Bubba and D-Von.

Bubba:  What I am saying is that you two have lost it.  Going out there protecting some snot nosed punk.

D-Von:  You used to be Hardcore Bob but now you are nothing more then Sparky Plugg all over again.

Holly:  Sparky Plugg huh?  Did you hear that Bill, nothing but Sparky Plugg.

Holly then nails D-Von while DeMott clotheslines Bubba.  The two teams brawl as security tries to separate the four men.  Security men were being hit and went down before finally they were able to pull the four apart.

In the next match Booker T defeated journeyman Jerry Lynn in a very uneventful match.  Lynn went for a tornado DDT but Booker shoved him off and then hit his Scissor Kick for the win.

Booker T pinned Jerry Lynn with the Scissor Kick in 0:07:20.
Rating: * 3/4

Hudson:  Jerry Lynn just can't seem to catch a break.  He has more talent then anyone yet something seems to be missing.

JR:  I think it is a killer instinct.  He needs to go for the kill.

Hudson:  Well up next we have someone who has that killer instinct in none other then Tajiri.

JR:  Well he will need it because he is going up against the Showstopper himself Shawn Michaels.

Michaels won this match by DQ when Tajiri sprayed him with that mysterious green mist of his.  Besides that it was really a feeling out match between the two.

Shawn Michaels defeated Tajiri by disqualification in 0:05:01.
Rating: **

After the match Shawn was blinded when from the back out came Triple H.  Triple H helped Shawn to his feet only to be given Sweet Chin Music.  Shawn then stumbled to the back.

Hudson:  Did Shawn know what he was doing JR?

JR:  I don't know.  These two always seem to have an on again off again type relationship.  I have no idea if he knew what he was doing.  Right now lets go to the back where Tazz is with Randy Orton.

Tazz:  Randy Orton you have taken to calling yourself the Legend Killer.  You have beaten legends like Mick Foley and laid out legends like Jerry Lawler and the Fabulous Moolah.  My question do you honestly compare yourself to legends like the King and Mick?

Orton:  Honestly?  Of course I do.  I am a true hardcore icon.

Tazz:  Listen Randy, before you go on any further you are hardly hardcore.  You are a pretty boy.

Orton:  Listen you angry little midget I have already had more success in my career then you have.  Hell look at you back here being nothing more then a BITCH!

With that Randy Orton spits on Tazz.  Tazz seemingly snaps and attack Orton.  Orton quickly hits a low blow and runs off as Tazz seems to fume over what happened.

Hudson:  Good grief JR, what in the hell was Randy thinking?

JR:  The kid thinks he is the best but Tazz is one of the last men I would want to spit on.  I don't think Randy knows what he has done.

The next match was a throw back to ECW as RVD took on Raven in a hardcore match.  This was a wild old fashion hardcore match.  No goofy weapons like plants or anything like that.  A lot of chairs and tables were used and Raven bleed like a pig.  On the outside of the ring Raven went for the Evenflow DDT but RVD countered with a backdrop.  RVD then hit a springboard sidekick that put Raven down just on the ramp way.  RVD then went to the top and from the ring to the floor hit his Five Star Frog Splash for the win.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Rob Van Dam pinned Raven with the Five Star Frog Splash in 0:18:50.
Rating: **** 1/4

After the match Raven was heard mumbling about the coming and that people would pay.

The Dudley's verse DeMott and Holly never even made it out in the arena.  As Hardcore and Bill came out of their locker room they were attacked by the Dudley's.  This match was crazy in the back.  All sort of weapons were used.  In the end however it was a wrestling moved that ended it as DeMott clotheslined D-Von and Hardcore rolled him up for the win.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Bill DeMott and Hardcore Holly defeated The Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley) when Holly pinned D-Von after a roll up in 0:07:24.
Rating: ** 1/4

Hudson:  I have to say I am surprised by that.  I thought the Dudley's were a in their element.

JR:  I have known Bob Holly for years and have been given the chance to know Bill recently.  Both these men know how to win and these two have been looking for the chance and they may get it here in the GWF.

Rey Misterio Jr. defeated the much bigger Batista in this match.  Batista dominated early by basically throwing him around.  It was clear that Batista didn't take Misterio serious.  Batista picked Rey up for his Powerbomb but had to take the time to showboat.  He walked around the ring with him when out of nowhere Rey hit a Frankensteiner for the upset win.

Rey Misterio Jr. pinned Batista with a Frankensteiner in 0:07:14.
Rating: ** 3/4

Batista went nuts in the ring after the lost.  He grabbed official Nick Patrick and gave him the Power Bomb.  We then go to the back were we see Tazz cutting his hair.  He turns and we see that his wrists are taped with the letters "FTW" wrote on them.

JR:  I only saw Tazz with those letters wrote on his wrist one other place and that was ECW!

Hudson:  In ECW Tazz was the human wrecking machine.  Tazz would destroy people and then laugh about.  Randy Orton is in a whole lot of trouble.

Voice:  Excuse me for interrupting but there wasn't a playing for the National Anthem before the show.

The camera shows the Patriot in the ring.

Patriot:  I now ask that you all stand for the playing of the National Anthem.

The National Anthem plays but was suddenly interrupted by the words "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"

We see "The King of Harts" Owen Hart come out.

Owen:  Enough is enough of this.  The rest of the world is tired of you pushing your ways on us.  The rest of the world is tired of you and your USA!

Crowd:  USA USA USA!!!

Owen:  SHUT UP!  I am here to silence you once and for all!

Owen charges the ring and we have our next match.  This was a quick paced match with the Patriot using his power to his advantage.  Owen however quickly grounded him and took over.  Owen seemed ready to win when he went to the top and attempted a flying crossbody but the Patriot countered with a powerslam.  The Patriot then hit his Full Nelson Slam followed by his Patriot Missile for the win.

The Patriot pinned Owen Hart with the Patriot Missile in 0:07:46.
Rating: *** 3/4

After the match Davey Boy Smith came out and attacked the Patriot but Lance Storm came out to make the save.  Owen and Davey quickly bailed as Lance waved the American Flag.  The Patriot was on the turnbuckles challenging Owen and Davey when Lance him with him with the flag.  Lance, along with Davey and Owen, destroyed the Patriot before ripping his mask off and laying the American Flag over his body.

JR:  That makes me sick.  I have to say this is not how I thought this night was going to go.  So far we have seen America disgraced, Tazz spit on and young Matt Cappotelli destroyed several times.  This makes me sick.

Hudson:  Well we aren't through yet JR.  Who knows what kind of sick stuff will still happen.  We will see Demolition in action against Diamond Dallas Page and his partner Kanyon.  Plus I understand that none other then "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be here JR.

JR:  Well hopefully that will finish the night off on a high point.

Demolition defeated the Jersey Boys in a good tag team contest.  This was a back and forth contest with it coming down to an accident.  DDP went for a spinning lariat but Smash pulled Kanyon in the way.  Ax then tossed DDP from the ring and they hit the Demolition Decapitation for the win.

Demolition (Ax and Smash) defeated The Jersey Boys (Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon) when Ax pinned Kanyon after the Demolition Decapitation in 0:15:14.
Rating: ***

After the match Demolition were celebrating in the glass shattered and out rode Stone Cold.  Demolition quickly left the ring as DDP helped Kanyon to his feet.  Austin got in the ring and helped Kanyon to his feet as well only to kick him in the gut and give him the Stunner.  DDP spun Austin around and went for the Diamond Cutter but Austin shoved him off and then gave him a Stunner.  Austin picked both men up and tossed them from the ring.  He started calling for beers when sirens blared and Scott Steiner comes out.

Steiner:  If it isn't the toughest SOB ever Stone Cold Steve Austin.  For years I have heard how tough you are.  Well then when we were in the same damn company you suddenly got "injured".  Well that is a load of horsesh!t!  You are a coward Austin nothing but a god damn coward!

Austin suddenly nails Steiner and mounts him raining rights down.  Austin picks him up as a official runs down and calls for the bell.  Austin picks up Steiner only to be given a low blow.  Steiner then hit a Steinerline and went for the Steiner Recliner but Austin countered with a back elbow.  Austin quickly hit a kick to the midsection followed by the Stone Cold Stunner for the win.

Steve Austin pinned Scott Steiner with the Stone Cold Stunner in 0:03:23.
Rating: **

After the match Jeff Jarrett, 3 Minute Warning and Charlie Haas hit the ring.  The swarm Austin and dominate him.  From the back out ran Al Snow, Maven, Hardcore Holly and Bill DeMott but they were soon overpowered as well.  Finally they left the men in the ring bloody messes.

Jarrett:  The owner sent word Steve.  They said that I AM THE CHOSEN ONE!  They said that your time at the top is OVER!  So choke on that slappy!

Jarrett and company leave the ring as other wrestlers and officials help everyone from the ring.  Austin however refused help.  Austin stumbled through the curtain only to come flying back out.  Randy Orton walks out with a smug look on his face.  He waits for Austin to stand up and gives him the RKO.

JR:  THAT SON OF A BITCH!  Austin was just mugged in the ring by six men and now this.  Randy Orton is a jackass!

Hudson:  Austin has been busted open in the ring and now look at him.  He is laying in a pool of his own blood!

JR:  Wait a second Scott.  Look at who is coming out of the crowd.

From the crowd out comes Tazz in his old wrestling tights.

Tazz:  Orton get your god damn f*cking ass down to the ring RIGHT NOW!  You want to be a legend killer kill me.  BEAT ME IF YOU CAN.....SURVIVE IF I LET YOU!!!

Orton starts to back pedal but runs into Austin who is on his feet.  Orton the backs toward the ring right into Tazz.  Tazz throws him into the ring and we have our main event.

Tazz really was dominated in this match.  Orton hit everything but couldn't keep Tazz down.  Orton gave Tazz two RKO's and the man still kicked out.  Finally Orton went to the top for a flying crossbody but Tazz rolled through and quickly locked in the Tazzmission.  Orton struggled but finally tapped out.

Tazz made Randy Orton submit to the Tazzmission in 0:11:47.
Rating: *** 3/4

Tazz refused to release the hold.  Batista ran out from the back only to be give a belly to belly and then locked in the Tazzmission.  Tazz stood up and noticed Jeff Jarrett, Charlie Haas and 3 Minute Warning watching from the ramp.

Jarrett: Tazz I have a message for you from the owner.  They will see you personally in that very ring at Chaos!

Not a bad first card.  Good roster, decent stuff getting set up.  First cards are always hard to do since you're starting from scratch.  Only thing I didn't like was the use of Owen Hart.  Don't get me wrong, I love Owen, but it's more of my personal preference to leave the deceased out of circuits I use.  But not bad overall.
