Pro Wrestling-RAGE Week #7

xsouporheroxPosted on 04/22/04 at 02:47:47

OOC: I'm on a TNM frenzy tonight, forgive me if my cards begin to lack clarity due to the sheer amount of them. Week 8 is going to be my final card for tonight though, just cause I really WANT to see who win the title.

Frankie Kazarian and Matt Stryker defeated
The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere) when Stryker pinned Kashmere
after a German suplex in 0:06:13.
Rating: *** 1/2

Comments
Very strong showing by the champs here, beating the first champions soundly. Acid and Kashmere tried but Kazarian and Stryker have both seemed to be completely 'on' the past few weeks. The amount of effort in this match was amazing, considering all four men are pulling double duty tonight, Acid and Kazarian in the tag match later on and Stryker and Kashmere in the main event battle royale to determine the 8th member of the Heavyweight title tournament.

Elix Skipper pinned Joey Matthews with the Play Of The Day in 0:13:05.
Rating: **

Comments
These two have had heat every sinced Matthews no-showed on Skipper during the tag title tournament and nothing changed in this match. Kind of sloppy and spotty, but not altogether horrible. Should be interesting to see how both these men do in the Heavyweight title tournament.

Dean Malenko pinned Altar Boy Luke after a waistlock suplex in 0:12:39.
Rating: ** 3/4

Comments
This was Malenko's first match back since Altar Boy Luke injured him a few weeks ago with the Holy Driver. Despite Luke's best efforts though, Malenko's channeled fury allowed him to control this one and finally come out on top, even after taking an exploder suplex onto a folded up chair.

Mafia and Christopher Daniels defeated
America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) when Mafia pinned
James Storm with the Burning Hammer in 0:03:59.
Rating: ** 1/2

Comments
Despite their hot streaks in singles action, AMW continues to fall short in tag action. Despite that, all four men will have one shot at the Heavyweight title tournament later on tonight in the Battle Royale.

CM Punk pinned Chris Hero with the Pepsi Plunge in 0:14:46.
Rating: *** 1/2

Comments
These two men have a long and storied history ranging over several indie feds and it doesn't look like their hatred for each other will cool down any time soon. This was a wild and intense brawl that almost saw both men counted out several times before Punk secured the win via the Pepsi Plunge. Punk worked over Hero a bit before Rave ran out and made the save, promising to win the Battle Royale tonight and win the Heavyweight title next week.

AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian defeated Mike Awesome and Trent Acid when AJ
pinned Acid with the Styles Clash in 0:15:20.
Rating: *** 1/2
[Father Jim Mitchell interfered against Frankie Kazarian.]

Comments
Acid and Kazarian started this match off right where they finished the match from earlier, at each other's throats. Despite the respect these two have shown to have for each other, they are still bitter rivals in PW-RAGE. Awesome and Styles got their shots in this match as well, with Styles putting Acid away at the end. Is this a sign of next week's title tournament? Only time will tell.

Lots of stories coming out of this one. Storm and Stryker both worked hard and eliminated a lot of opponents. Stryker and Spanky both lasted for over 30 minutes until Stryker finally was the only survivor of 13 entrants. Now both tag team champions are in the Heavyweight title tournament which takes place next week. Stryker joins his partner, Frankie Kazarian, AJ Styles, Altar Boy Luke, Mike Awesome, Trent Acid, Elix Skipper, and Joey Matthews in the tournament next week to crown the first ever champion.

Stryker makes 8!  And we now have all of our participants for the 1 night only tournament for the PW-RAGE title!

I'd firmly place my money on ...

Joey Babaganoosh.. er Joey Matthews!
