Pro Wrestling RAGE Card #1 (Old School Rules)

xsouporheroxPosted on 04/19/04 at 08:41:47

This is my test circuit I'm running just to mess around with the new Old School Rules. Not too much storyline stuff on the first show.

Joey Matthews and Elix Skipper defeated Altar Boy Luke and Red when
Joey Matthews defeated Luke when Luke passed out in a sleeperhold in 0:17:11.
Rating: ** 1/4

Comments
Fast paced action here on the first ever Pro Wrestling RAGE match. All four men tried their best and put on a solid if unspectacular bout. The biggest problems with the match was it spotyness, with no real cohesive flow.

Frankie Kazarian pinned Mafia with the Wave of the Future in 0:09:59.
Rating: ** 1/2

Comments
Another solid outing here. Mafia dominated most of the match until Kazarian caught a second wind and made a comeback for the big win.

Mike Awesome pinned Jimmy Rave with the Awesome Bomb in 0:11:45.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Matt Stryker no-showed.)

Comments
The best match of the evening so far. Rave was a bit off his game, coming into this match cold and with another match later on tonight already on his mind. Still he gave his all but it wasn't enough against the Awesome one here tonight. Management is very unhappy with Matt Stryker after he missed the event and will be looking into the reasons behind his missing the show.

Christopher Daniels and Dean Malenko defeated
America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) when Daniels pinned
C. Harris with the Last Rites in 0:17:47.
Rating: ***

Comments
Solid tag match here. The fluid tag team of AMW taking on the combined experience and technical ability of Daniels and Malenko. This time out it was the veterans scoring the win after a long back and forth battle.

Texas Death No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match
CM Punk pinned Jimmy Rave with the Pepsi Plunge in 0:19:10.
Rating: *** 3/4

Comments
These two battled all over the arena in a brutal, blood-filled brawl. After nearly twenty minutes of war Punk hit the Pepsi Plunge through a table to score the win on an already battered Jimmy Rave. Evern losing two matches in one night however, Rave looked very impressive.

The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere) defeated AJ Styles and Spanky
when Kashmere pinned Spanky after the T_Gimmick in 0:17:32.
Rating: ****

Comments
Given the talent of the four men in the match, nothing less could of been expected than the stellar performance they gave. All four men gave it their all but the usual tandem of Acid and Kashmere was much more fluid in the ring than Styles and Spanky and they walked out of this one winners.

Steve Corino pinned Samoa Joe after a power bomb in 0:33:23.
Rating: **** 1/4

Comments
After the great tag team match before, Corino and Joe managed to top even that with an all out strong style war. Blending an old school style brawl with a puro feeling stiff bout these two tore each other apart until Corino finally put things with a ring-shaking power bomb.

Good stuff.  Lots of Ring of Honor guys, which I like.  Just from this first card I can tell that your circuit will probably have a fairly similar feel to my own, so I'm interested to see how yours developes and how closely it parallels the development of my own.

Anyway, keep up the good work.  You've got the workers you need to put on some really awesome shows, so I can't wait to see what you do with them.
