TecmoNickPosted on 04/09/04 at 04:48:18

Thanks for checking out the New Age Wrestling Federation. This is another circuit using the Old School rules. The roster was chosen pretty random, and I really like how it ended up looking. Let me know what you think...

Adam Flash and Air Paris defeated Al Snow and Brian Pillman when Paris pinned
Pillman with the Superkick in 0:18:48.
Rating: ***

This was a great match to start the show. Both teams looked good together, and this one got intense. I like Flash and Paris as early favorites in the tag tournament...

[Mike Awesome hits M-Dogg 20 with a clothesline.

M-Dogg 20 defeated Mike Awesome by disqualification in 0:11:01.
Rating: ***

This was a great match that really displayed what M-Dogg can do in the ring, very innovative. M-Dogg kicked out of the Splash Mountain, and Awesome just lost it. He nailed the official and took the disqaulification. Awesome then went to attack M-Dogg, but he took off through the audience.

[Ken Shamrock goes for a Frankensteiner, but Madman Pondo counters it with a tiger driver.

Madman Pondo pinned Ken Shamrock with the Pumphandle Tombstone in 0:13:48.
Rating: *** 1/2

Shamrock gave Pondo everything he had, which means Pondo may have a nice career ahead of him. This one really could have went either way. Shamrock was quite dissapointed with himself after this one.

Val Venis vs. Rick Rude

Rick Rude defeated Val Venis when Val Venis passed out in a sleeperhold in 0:04:19.
Rating: ** 1/2

This one started with some serious heat. Rick Rude was doing his normal posing, when Val came out and went in to his. Rude got pissed and let losse on Venis. These two may have an interesting fued building.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Spellbinder

Shelton Benjamin pinned Spellbinder with the Dragon Whip in 0:16:05.
Rating: * 3/4

Good match, the fans were really behind Shelton.

The Undertaker and Edge vs. Arn Anderson and Ric Flair

Ric Flair and Arn Anderson defeated Edge and The Undertaker when R. Flair defeated Edge when Edge passed out in a side headlock in 0:05:23.
Rating: * 1/4

Edge and The Undertaker together in the NAWF really got the crowd pumped. The Undertaker didn't really get a chance to get involved thanks to the Horseman dominating on Edge. Flair got in some cheap shots and forced Edge into submission. After the match, Flair went into one of his psychotic phases and wouldn't release the headlock. The Undertaker came in, grabbed Flair by the throat, and Choke Slammed him to the mat. Arn Anderson didn't even think about coming back into the ring. Taker checked on Edge and gave Flair and Anderson a cut throat with his hand to think about. Both of these teams should do well in the NAWF...

Kendo Ka Shin vs. Sabu - Falls Count Anywhere Match

[Sabu throws Kendo Ka Shin out of the ring.
Sabu goes for a tope suicida, but Kendo Ka Shin moves out of the way.
Kendo Ka Shin takes Sabu down with a DDT.

They're brawling down the aisle.
They're brawling down the aisle.

Jack Doan counts: One, two, three.
The arena is exploding in a chorus of boos.]

Falls-Count-Anywhere Match
Sabu pinned Kendo Ka Shin after an Asai moonsault in 0:11:04.
Rating: *** 1/2

Match of the night, no questions. These two gave us a show, battling in the audience, and backstage. The match ended with Sabu hitting a moonsault on Kendo on the entrance ramp. Both men were bloody and bruised, and this is only the begining...

Shawn Michaels vs. Vader

Vader pinned Shawn Michaels after a short lariat in 0:09:14.
Rating: ** 1/2

Shawn Michaels came into this one with the fans behind him, but he left beaten down. Shawn was cocky going into this one, and during the match. He could have had it won several times, but Vader wanted it more. Shawn complained to the referee after the match and looked discusted with himself.

Card rating: ** 1/2

Good start from the looks of it.  I'm interested to see how things shape up for your roster.  You've got a lot of good talent there, and I don't think I see a single worthless lump (Cough cough, Kevin Nash in NDW) in there.  How random was your roster?  Did you pick your main eventers and leave the rest open to chance?  Or take the plunge and see what cards TNM gave you?

From this very early glance at things, I'm going to predict that Shelton Benjamin will be very successful star in your circuit.  Just a guess, of course.

I see you liked the format I used in posting NDW.  :)  I think it adds a bit to a card just by breaking things up a bit more and making it easier to read, but that's just my feelings.

One thing I'd suggest is that you hype up your next card at the end of the ones you run.  That helps keep things interesting by giving your readers something to look forward too, and probably helps in thinking ahead as well.

Keep up the good work.  Keep posting these and I'll keep readin' 'em.

I tried using the "M" key and letting TNM choose my roster, but it just wasn't turning out how I wanted it to. I decided to just go through the wrestlers and hire whoever looked good at the time. I usualy put more thought into it, but I just scrolled down and hired 20 guys in about 5 minutes.

I agree...I need to add a preview or something to keep readers coming back. On that note...

Next week the tag team title tournament will begin! There are some interesting parings to say the least. Take a look below to see the teams entered.

Adam Flash/Air Paris

Ric Flair/Arn Anderson

Edge/Undertaker

Al Snow/Brian Pillman

Spellbinder/Mike Awesome

Rick Rude/Madman Pondo

Shelton Benjamin/M-Dogg 20

Ken Shamrock/Val Venis

These are in no particular order, and brackets will be released at Week 2's show. Also, in the main event...

Shawn Michaels teams with Kendo Ka Shin to take on Vader and Sabu. There is a lot of talent packed into this one...should be insane!

Tune in next week for the New Age Wrestling Federation!

Madman Pondo/Mike Awesome
vs.
Rick Rude/Madman Pondo

Hmm...  This is either a typo, the beginning of an evil twin angle, or Madman Pondo is going to be bumping like crazy to get himself over.  Should be interesting to see.  ;D

Thanks for catching me there.   ;)

Those are just the teamings that will take place in the tournament, all the brackets will be set up face vs. heel.
